I've had this drill for about a month, and used it to drill 3/8" cast iron plate. This drill has plenty of power and torque, it will not bog down. It has a very comfortable fit in your hand, and has a two finger trigger which is very nice. If you need a strong hand drill, you won't disappointed.

One thing to watch out for is the trigger lock, if you don't pay attention you can set it without knowing it, and if the drill bit binds. You can not hold this DRILL, other than that, for the money a excellent drill

We've never owned a really good drill before so this one was such a pleasure to use. It just works. I haven't had reason to use the detatchable driving handle much but it's nice to have. The best part is the electric brake. It has prevented a lot of stripping. This thing is heavy and without a strong hand, the mixture of the powerful torque and something like a hole saw could rip this drill right out of your hand; that's where the electric brake comes in but watch your wrist. So, hold on tight because this is a great drill.

I just got this drill and used it to secure some oak planking on a bridge we are building. The drill had plenty of power to sink 4" lag screws through the 2" thick oak planks (after drilling pilot holes, of course) and into the underlying structure. An older Craftsman drill that another guy had couldn't even get the screws started into the hard oak planks.

The removable side handle is a must in situations where you need a lot of torque. I let someone else try to use this drill and the first time it spun itself right out of their hands. The grip is very comfortable with just a little bit of rubber to help prevent slipping and I really like the two finger trigger. As another reviewer mentioned, the brake works well and the drill stops quickly. Overall an excellent drill, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I own the barrel-grip version of this jigsaw and really like it; although, I had to buy it from Tools Plus since Amazon doesn't carry it. I especially like the 12' long cord.

I use the barrel-grip version of this jigsaw for a variety of remodeling tasks, but it's invaluable as a coping tool, particularly when working with hardwood crown moulding. To use the jigsaw for coping, I highly recommend replacing the factory foot with the Collins Coping Foot (from Collins Tool Company), which allows you to make all sorts of extreme cuts. The saw is held upside down so that it's easy to see the blade and accuratly follow the coping line, and this is where the barrel-grip version of the jigsaw comes in handy because it's so easy to grip upside down. There's no handle to get in the way. I'd give the barrel grip version 5 stars without reservation.

The other day I was dismayed to see the exact same saw as the top handle Metabo jigsaw for sale at Home Depot. The only difference was that it was marketed under the Ridgid brand and cost about $30 less than the Metabo. I looked at the Ridgid very carefully and it was identical to the Metabo in all ways except color. I suspect there must be a shared product licensing deal between Ridgid and Metabo. The good side of Ridgid selling the same saw is that accessories like the anti-splinter insert should be widely available wherever there's a Home Depot. The 4 star rating is because Metabo charges $30 more than Ridgid for the exact same jigsaw.

This is the same saw as the rigid (Home Depot). I paid $149 for the first one I got. They went down to $99 with a lifetime warranty. I bought another. They are excellent. I also have a Bosch. These are just as good.

Anybody using power tools realises the benefit of having power enough to do the job and some to spare, it's a good feeling to realise that the machine is not going to tear its guts out inspite of it being pushed. Well this machine gives me that feeling when I'm cutting 2x timber with the orbital mode switched on to max. all the other features are just a plus, as far as I'm concerned, I want that work done well. That's not to say I don't appreciate the efficency of dust collection, or the low decibel of the motor whine. So go out and buy this machine it may be a few bucks more ... but it will not disappoint

I am so thrilled with the purchase of this saw. I never would have thought that I would be ordering a saw from Amazon.com! But I have built up such a trust with them with many book purchases that I decided to take the chance!

This saw has everything I need at a price I could afford. I researched for several weeks before making this purchase. In the past with the older saws that I have it would take anywhere from 2-5 min, or longer if something went amiss to reset for each setup for fretwork, with this saw it takes a mere few seconds. This saw is heaven !!

I am in the process of getting ready to retire. My plan is not to hibernate but to stay active, and keep my mind in good shape. I hit on the idea of a scroll saw last summer and have spent the months searching for the best one for me. I decided on the Delta 40-570 because of it's size and features. I am a machinist by trade, and enjoy working with high quality tools. This saw will provide me with the opportunity to fulfill my desires during my retirement. I enjoy working with wood and plan to build things for my house and grandkids.

If this is a 5/16" modification of a 608 then it might be an excellent bearing for skateboarding, as they use 5/16" axles.
If it's just a plain 608 then oh well, just some incorrect details.

I ordered my stove over the phone, and spoke with a very professional staff person of Premiere name "Artie", and I mention his name because he was of great assistance to me in helping to expedite my order. I placed the order for my stove on Friday 3rd and recieved my stove one week later on Friday 10th.
The only thing I did not know at the time of placing my order was that the items/stove was not to be delivered into my home. The driver told me it was to be delivered to the curb of my house out front. I told him that was not acceptable and he must bring it up my five(5) steps into my kitchen and he did with the help of my son-in-law. So be aware of that when ordering from AJ Madison. My stove is beautiful, professional looking and looks great in my kitchen. Also an Engineer charged $225.00 to hook it up. Anyway I am quite satisfied with my purchase. So Happy Shopping Pearl

This unit looks and works great. Installation was easy and the performance has been great. Has all the adjustments that I was looking for plus the weather channels. I didn't really want the weather channels at the time of purchase, but I'm glad I have them now.

The cosmetics are great -- chrome dials, silver face, green back-lighting, analog signal meter.

The unit is not a compact unit, but I was able to fit it under the radio in my '96 Ford Ranger without too much trouble. The 9' microphone cord seemed really long to me when I saw that on the spec sheet, but it is actually about perfect.

There are a couple of downsides: The Dynamic Squelch Control is completely useless. As far as I can tell, it just automatically sets the squelch to a higher-than-appropriate level. With DSC on, you miss all low-powered transmissions and some high-powered ones. DSC works great if you're only interested in a ~300' radius. I never turn mine on.

The other downside is that it's nearly impossible to determine the knob positions by sight. That is, you can't easily look down and see that the volume is at 1/2 and squelch is at 1/8, e.g.

Neither of these downsides are that big of a deal, though.

BTW, I use the RF Gain control much more than squelch to fine tune my reception. Don't buy a CB radio without RF Gain.

This thing has great clarity, both transmitting and receiving. However, make sure not to skimp on your antenna.

I had this radio in my car and worked great. It is a Clear talker ... but remeber , to recieve and transmit well you must have a good antenna. A good radio is useless without a good antenna.

I purchased the Delta 22-560 as my first portable planer in February of 2001. Prior to the end of the first year of use (casual wood worker) I had to take it in and have the cutter head assembly replaced. When I received it back from the Porter Cable/Delta repair shop, it sounded twice as loud as it did before I took it in. Today, as I was planing 2" red oak, I began to smell rubber burning and the unit quit cutting. (At least it did not spray the parts through-out the shop as one other user described.) Disassembling it, I determined that the cutter head assembly nut had come loose and could not be tightened without the pulley on the cutter head "throwing" the belt off because of a wobble in the pulley. I will not buy another Delta planer (even though I have been a Porter Cable/Delta purchaser for years) and am considering either a Makita or the Grizzly 15 inch.

I have always been a big supporter of Delta tools, However, I'm afraid I cannot give this product great praise. The fact is, the only reason I am giving them 3 stars at all is for the overall end product it can produce. Now I've used four different brands of planers and never encountered the types of problems I've had with this peice of equipment! Easily enough broken down, but jeeze I've had to take this thing apart 4 times this months... I've only used it 5 times this month! with moderate 1/16th cuts. Today the belt shredded to peices for the second time in 5 months. I'm about to find a Jet 15" planer online, The more expensive machine will pay for it self compared to all the time I lose trying to fix the delta!

Hope this machine was just a lemon, but prehaps this will help someone else.

When I bought this item I followed the advice of another review, that being to take the blades out and give the machine a clean. This was going along nicely until I had to remove the bolts that clamp the blade in place. The bolts were that tight that when they `cracked' sparks literally shot out.
Some bolts were that tight that I had to get a small piece of pipe to use as a lever arm. This problem was consistent for every bolt I tried. I had to give up trying when the tightness of the bolts damaged both the supplied wrench and the bolt head. I have informed Delta and am hoping they reply with an explanation.
Now after that little whinge the machine is quite good to use. The reason for not a higher rating is only due to this assembly error.
