Axes Review Little saw: big results
This saw works great! It's small and compact (folds up), but cuts almost like butter through branches 3 or 4 inches in diameter. When my ratchet pruners are not sufficient, the little saw does the job. I can put it in my pocket. I am really pleased with this purchase.

Axes Review Portable, light weight, effective
I purchase a saw to fit in a small toolbox on a small tractor / riding mower. I keep it with me to cut branches that grow low. (You know the kind that hit you in the head when out mowing the grass). Now I stop (hopefully before getting hit with an un-seen branch) and cut off the culprit. Its small enough with a tight enough blade pitch to cut small branches, and large enough to cut branches as large as about 1-3" before you'll want a bow saw or the like. It folds small enough to safely carry in your pocket while also hand carrying a large pruner or other tools.

Axes Review love it
I bought this because I mixed up the brand name of what I was actually looking for, but I found it to be excellent for what I need. It fits in my bucket with all my other garden tools and it's the only saw I have that I can stick in my back pocket. Great product, I would recommend it as a must have item.

Axes Review Rugged, useful tool
Because of it's ideal size, I'm able to always keep my truckman demolition axe handy - I keep one in my car and another in my truck. Optimum size for ease of storage & highly portable. Yet it's a really serious tool on which I can easily use both hands to get more power in my swing. Very well balanced for such a formidable tool.

The pointed ends are especially useful in tearing out light aluminum & exterior steel siding and panels such as you'll find on mobile homes, RVs, automobiles, trucks, buildings & houses. It's a sure bet in helping me easily remove drywall. I always carry one with me in both vehicles so I can easily break out of my vehicle if necessary or into another damaged vehicle to try to help someone in need.

Axes Review Excellent tool
This is a great tool. I've been a professional firefighter for 10 years in the Boston area, and this is the best investment I've made. This can be swung with both hands or just one. It is great for close quarters and ladder work. It makes for a handy second tool.

I paid more. This is well worth the money!

Axes Review Awesome Axe
This is an awesome axe. Several people in my department carry this axe. Very dependable and holds an edge.

Axes Review This is a nice axe.
My name is Bryan and I am a firefighter. I feel this is a great personal tool to have. I dont know how useful it is in construction but I love it in the fire service.

Axes Review Usable and fun.
I am a Volunteer firefighter and I bought this to keep an axe with me for emergancy use (which hasn't happened yet) but at an extrication class i was able to put it through the door skin of a 1973 lincoln. Great because it is compact but there is nothing compact about the damage/fun you can have with it.

Axes Review feels good in your hand
I have not actually used this axe to tear down anything yet, but it feels very comfortable, and very light. I will definitely use it for camping and hunting.

Axes Review Great Axes
I got the 28" splitting axe and liked it so much I got the 28" chopper. At that time I got the Fiskars sharpener and let me tell you that after a few passes I got both axes to shave hairs off of my forearm. These cost a little more than the regular axes but if you take pride in your tools and like functional beauty they are well worth it. To those that say that the handle still breaks well you can break just about anything if you mis-use it. I hear the warranty is pretty good.

Axes Review less fatigue, more split wood
you need to get used to the short handle, but after that you won't use anything else. incredible splitter for how light it is. excellent camp tool. stays sharp , excellent metals

Axes Review Great axe for a hiking trip
This axe is a lightweight, yet powerful cutter. It's great from removing branches from downed trees and for cutting through the tree itself. Very versatile. It will split wood, or cut through a large tree trunk. Handle is virtually unbreakable. I've used it for a pry bar. The cutting edge can easily be sharpened such that it will shave the hair off your arm!

Axes Review Best Blades
THe best blades I ever bought for cutting metal. It cut through a 2 inch galvanized pipe with ease. THe blades are long lasting.

Axes Review Great blades, even for a homeowner
The Milwaukee Torch and Ax Sawzall blades are marketed as professional level accessories used by fire and rescue crews for aiding in extracting victims from wrecked cars, etc. Not being a fireman, I won't comment on that but I will say that these are likely the finest reciprocating saw blades you'll ever use. As a homeowner who always seems to have remodeling debris to get rid of, I rely on my Milwaukee Sawzall to make short work of bulky waste items. The garbage collector charges extra for additional bulky items, but if I can fit it in the garbage can, only the flat rate applies. I have cut up lumber, countertops, metal sinks, and a garage door opener (among other things) with my Sawzall. The Torch blade is superior to other metal cutting blades - literally like a hot knife through butter. Well worth the price.

Axe - Extra Large

Axes Review No One Expects the Extra Large
The fact of the matter is that although the Throwing Axe has a much longer range, the Extra Large more often than not gets the job done with menace alone. And let me tell you, the expression on most people's faces when you whip out your Extra Large and SNARL is, nine times out of ten, nothing short of classic. And on that tenth occasion when some dumb punk wants to try to throw down anyway? Well, his homies won't come knocking again once they see his skull cleaved and split open like a Christmas turkey. The Extra Large is also handy if you need to smash down an apartment or motel room door in a pinch. it's the last time that ho will try to hold out on you, that's for sure! And the Extra Large has a no-slip rubber grip, so you can whack away confident that no matter how slick your hands get with blood, bile and sweat, you don't run the risk of a dangerous (not to mention embarrassing) accident. Though I highly recommend gloves, as a nasty blister will put a frown on your face faster than anything.

Axes Review My mother left me this, and it's great!
I'm a utilitarian kind of guy. I can handle dirty, torn coveralls. A cracked, scuffed hockey mask doesn't faze me. Heck, even if I get some pokes and scrapes while on the job, that comes with the territory.

But I absolutely demand the sharpest edges possible when I use a knife or an axe. There's no point (ha!) in doing a slicing or hacking job with a dull blade.

That's why I highly recommend the Fiskars 78616984 Axe and Knife Sharpener. With this useful tool, I can sharpen any blade I pick up in minutes, with an exact 30-degree angle (thanks to the patented ceramic wheel). Plus, the pop-up head (excuse me?) makes cleaning a breeze. It even has a built-in safety guard to protect one's hands.

It's kind of a bummer that the Fiskars 78616984 Axe and Knife Sharpener isn't available for gift-wrapping, because my pals Michael and Freddy would each love one as a surprise.

I never head off to camp without my Fiskars 78616984 Axe and Knife Sharpener!

    Axes Review Light and brittle
I love this axe at first. It has great balance and fits beautifully in my hand. It is easy to swing and almost always goes where you want. But when it doesn't, it breaks. The supposedly unbreakable handle shatters like the plastic it is. I'm on my third in 2 years.
Buy from a local vendor, because you will be taking it back every few months for a new one.

    Axes Review Greatest Axe ever
I'm cut my share of wood over the last 30 years. I split 60 plus cords a year. This axe is really nice. Light weight and easy to swing. The shape of head keeps it from getting stuck in even the wettest of wood. Great product. I liked it so much I bought the entire series.

    Carefull these things are sharp!

Axes Review Even better than the reviews
I read the reviews and thought I had to try this axe, so I ordered one. Unfortunately, the axe was on back-order. One day I am out at a local hardware store and see one so I buy it. As I bought the smaller size (23 inch), I was not sure I would like it and was expecting to have to return it. Well, one use and I was in heaven. Far better than any axe I have ever owned. While I was using it, I recalled what one reviewer said about how each cut was deeper than he expected and how correct he was. This is noteworthy, because most axes are exactly the opposite, each cut is less than you expect.

I cannot wait to see what the 28 inch can do. My only dilemna, do I also keep the 23 inch or give it to my brother? Sometimes you just gotta be selfish ....

Axes Review Good, but not great
I purchased this saw and a Fiskars 93626935 PowerTooth Folding Saw at the same time. While this is a larger saw, I still end up using the Fiskars more often. They are more portable (and safer because the blade folds away) and do as good of a job on anything less than 2-3." For anything larger than 3" a bow saw (poperly tensioned) can beat the nonsense out of a clipper in handcutting. But I will saw that a bowsaw is akward up IN a tree, and that therefore there is a nice place for clippers in tight pruning spots. Still given a choice, the Fiskars beat this any day.

Axes Review Packaging and the environment
If you order more than one of these saws, request that they be sent in one package. We ordered 12 saws and they arrived in 8 huge boxes, full on those plastic airbags. What a disgrace.

Axes Review I can't compare it to japanese pull saws but...
As far as I'm concerned this saw is great. It's sharp, it cuts well, I think the curve of the blade actually helps with cutting 2-4 inch hardwood trees. Maybe as a previous reviewer mentioned it is too thick but it works well for me. I can cut through a 3 inch cherry branch (I've done this numerous times now) while basically hanging in the tree and I'm done in less than 30 seconds. No I'm not exaggerating. Try doing that with your typical handsaw.

    Axes Review Love this product!
Here's the deal. You geta fantastic piece of tool for your money. What is more, you dont end up wearing an icepack on your hands/wrist if you use this baby. The special shock-proofing is fairly effective: and for someone who's used wooden grip/iron grip all my life, I find this extremely useful tool!

    Axes Review world's best hammer
Forget all those fancy hickory handles and black things. Everybody on the job site used to make fun of my "club" but not after they try it. You'll be shocked how easy you can go from framing to finish work (without hammer marks) and be comfortable with this hammer.

    Axes Review GREAT WORKING HAMMER
THE SPENCER PT-2 HAMMER IS A GREAT ADDITION TO ANYONES TOOLBOX, BUT ESPECIALLY TO THE WORKING CARPENTER OR FRAMER. I'VE HAD ONE FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS, AND IT'S THE BEST HAMMER I'VE HAD, AND I'VE HAD MANY BEING IN THE REMODELING BUSINESS. THE COMPOSITE SHAFT IS LIGHT YET VERY STRONG. THE AXE STYLE HANDLE, WHICH IS COATED WITH A RUBBER TYPE MATERIAL, IS EASY ON YOUR HAND, AND ALLOWS YOU TO GET A FIRM GRIP,AND DELIVER A SOLID BLOW TO ANY NAIL. THE HAMMER IS WELL BALANCED,AND BECAUSE OF THE AXE STYLE HANDLE,YOUR HAND IS AT A MORE NATURAL POSITION, WHEN WORKING WITH THE TOOL. THE SHAPE OF THE HANDLE FORCES YOU TO GRIP THE HAMMER IN THE PROPER LOCATION EVERY TIME,AND ALLOWS THE HAMMER TO DO THE WORK IT WAS INTENDED TO DO, WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF FATIGUE TO THE USER. REALLY A GREAT DESIGN, AND AN EXCELLENT TOOL.
