Caulking Guns Review Back saver Glue and caulking gun
I used this tool when I built the addition on to our home. I was able to apply construction adhesive on the floor joist in a very quick and safe manner and could control the flow with very little effort. Construction of the tool is superior, very well built it should last for years. The guide centers the gun over the joist and you just slide it along as you control the flow with one hand. Best of all it is made in the USA.

Caulking Guns Review very good tool
This is a very good tool. The reach is obviously a back saving feature. The trigger works well, and the guide allows a very neatly laid bead along a joist. The only problem we had was when you let the pressure off, the tube wanted to jump out of alignment. This minor annoyance was easily remedied by wrapping a piece of duct tape around the gun and tube. This tool made the task much easier.

Caulking Guns Review Why spend $1.97 on a cheap gun when . . .
you can spend a little more on one (or two) of these?

I had purchased a cheap caulking gun because it was "cheap" and I didn't think that it would make a difference. Boy was I dead wrong.

The gun did not even make it through one tube of silicone caulk before I canned it and bought one of these bad boys. Once in a while I need two kinds of caulk or one caulk/one glue. Heck I bought another just like it!

The built in sticker saves stepping on a gooey nail. And the cutter is real easy to find.

This is a real good tool.

Caulking Guns Review Best Caulk Gun Ever!
I had to write a review on this gun because it turns out to be the best caulk gun I have ever used. If you think all caulk guns are the same you are right. Most of them are crap. Except for this one, and maybe one other one that is imported from England and is very hard to find.

I've gone through dozens of caulk guns, with each one being less than satifactory and then breaking. They just don't do what they are supposed to do and they don't hold up to the abuse of every day use. Metal guns get bent, plastic ones crack, plunger mechanisms and triggers are poorly made etc.

For years I have wondered why nobody makes a decent caulk gun, it is such a simple device how can manufactures keep getting it wrong?

Well, they got it right on this gun. It must be in the spring mechanism because this baby is smooth. The trigger pulls easily even with heavy Butyl caulks, and it really does not drip. It guns very evenly and there is no problem laying a nice even bead without the globs you get from pulling the trigger again. It's made of a tough molded plastic and super light weight. So far been extremely durable too, I've dropped it off ladders several times and it still works fine. Loading and unloading a tube is a no fuss operation, which is one of my biggest peeves with other guns. There is no spring release button, you just pull back on the plunger to remove the tube.

For $13 bucks this is a winner. Buy this gun!

Caulking Guns Review Saved my back and my knees
...This Newborn extender is great for gluing subfloor. It has a guide that lets you follow the joist (or double joists) while you gun out the adhesive. I have 2 of these and would not be without them. They can also save your back while epoxying concrete cracks. (also known as crack chasing). Another great labor saving tool.

Caulking Guns Review Does what it does quite well
I bought one of these from Grainger. I lengthened the air hose using same size fuel hose, and had to put a needle valve in the air line on the gun for better control of air flow. With those changes the thing works great. Lays down an even bead. I use an add-on caulking tip with a 1/8 inch hole. With this gun I can lay a bead down that you can't see to cover baseboard-to-wall and door frame cracks. Different caulks will push out very differently so you need fine air pressure and flow control. I use about 5 psi air pressure and the needle valve open only a small amount to lay down Polyseamseal All-purpose caulk, which is quite soft. An on-unit air regulator and 10 ft hose sure would enhance it's ease of use. Taking all things into account, I'm glad I got it.

    Caulking Guns Review Great Timesaver/Handsaver
I got this unit has I've had several hand operations and can't do well with a normal caulk gun. This one is amazing, I used it to caulk seams at our 50 y.o. log cabin. I used dozens of tubes of caulk last weekend. You do need to disassemble and clean it after 30 tubes of caulk, went well and worked like a top when done. Before each tube was done it pushed out one loud pop of caulk but it was easily smoothed out. It was consistent and saved my hands. I'd highly recommend it but you do need to clean it out with some light solvent that dissolves the caulk but not the plastic/rubber.

Caulking Guns Review Roean PG 100 air caulking gun
This gun has saved the day for me. I have used it to caulk a log house, both inside and outside. It still works like new after nearly 200 tubes of caulk, never once failing.
I found that a working pressure of 20 psi, is just right for the work I am doing.

    Caulking Guns Review It's fast!
The product performs as required. And it sure is fast; almost too fast. You can burn through a 10 oz tube of caulk in about 10-15 seconds if you're not careful. Even if you are careful, 30 seconds is all you need. (I wish I could have found one for the 1 quart size... You feel like you are always changing cartridges).
You will need to set the regulator lower on your compressor to limit the pressure for this thing to get a smooth consistent bead. Unit has no directions. Good thing it is pretty intuitive. Unscrew the cap and drop in the tube then replace the cap and sqeeze the trigger (carefully). Although the body looks like plastic in the photo, it is a die cast metal. Price is comparable to the middle to higher end hand caulking guns - well worth it in my opinion.

    Update--------
After 3 months of heavy use, it still performs great. By FAR, it has been the best $15 I spent on tools in a long time!

    Caulking Guns Review great tool
I agree ... best spent 15 bucks. Wish I had bought it years ago. I also agree that it is very agressive .... now I cut smaller openings on my tubes which in return dispenses at slower rates.

Caulking Guns Review Typical Milwaukee Quality
The hard part of caulking with a manual gun is maintaining an even pressure on the trigger. That's the main advantage of this gun. With it taking care of the pressure on the cartridge, all you have to do is move the gun in a steady motion to achieve a nice, smooth, even bead of caulk. Plus, your trigger hand wont get tired.

A plus is an immediate pressure relief once the trigger is released, so you don't get a drip from the end of the tube. You can hear the clutch click just before caulk is expelled, so you know when to start moving the gun.

It's reasonably compact, although it might be a bit tight if you were trying to caulk a toilet base, for example. Just break out the manual gun for that.

It has a variable speed dial on the back, to control the flow rate depending on what you are doing (slow for caulking, fast for adhesives).

It will squeeze every last bit out of a cartridge.

It comes with a trigger lock; witch comes in handy if you have curious/doofus neighbors/brother-in-laws around that want to see how it works, when you aren't looking.

Milwaukee claims you can expel 10 cartridges on a single charge. That may be a bit optimistic, and will depend on the bead size cut into the tube, the viscosity of the material, and even the temperature. However, if you are doing 10 tubes a day or more, just get some extra batteries. It uses the same 2.4 V battery as in Milwaukee's cordless screwdrivers.

Although it isn't listed, it comes with one battery and a 1-hour charger.

I bought mine because I purchased a house where all the windows needed to be caulked, not because I will use it to make a living. I reserved one star because it's a just a little bit pricey (more expensive than the more substantial SawZall, for instance), but you never regret buying a nice tool in the end. It's not out of the question for the typical homeowner who happens to be a bit of a tool freak.

If you are a contractor, you might want to look at the new 12V guns Milwaukee just came out with, but they will certainly be a lot heavier.

It doesn't make caulking fun, but almost.

Caulking Guns Review Review Of Milwaukee MOdel 6550-20 Caulking Gun
This is a convenient tool to have available when working with 10 oz. cartridges of RTV sealant, molding adhesives, etc. Power comes from a 2.4 volt rechargeable battery. I've discovered that a single charge of the battery is sufficient to use continuosly on 2-3 cartridges but if you stop using the gun for 1-2 hours, say a lunch break, the battery will need to be recharged. It apparently loses it's charging capacity if idle for more than 1-1.5 hours. I therefore, strongly recommend buying a second battery for large jobs. The instruction manual lists a 10 cartridge capacity on a single battery charge but that appears to be overly optimistic. Model 6550-20 is heavier than the common hand operated caulking gun, but the disadvantage of the added weight is overcome by the ease of the trigger mechanism wich easily expels sealant. The caulking gun expels sealant as long as finger pressure is applied to the trigger. The moment you remove pressure on the trigger, the plunger mechanism stops pushing against the cartridge and no additional sealant is expelled. Unlike hand operated caulking guns, I've experience absolutely no excess sealant pouring out once the trigger has been released. There is also a trigger locking feature which allows for continuous operation of expelling sealant. I've found that a two click racheting sound is emitted from the plunger just prior to the sealant being expelled. This sound is caused by the plunger making initial contact with the back end of the cartridge. This racheting sound is convenient since it signals the moment just before the sealant is about to be expelled. There is an adjustable knob on the gun body which adjusts the plunger speed and thus sealant flow. I've found however, that the amount of sealant used is dependent more on how fast one can move the gun along a bathroom tub/tile line than the speed of the adjustment knob. The gun comes with a handle strap, which easily slips over your hand to avoid accidentally dropping the gun. This handle strap is extrememly helpful when using the gun in such awkward places as high up on a ladder. Asided from the limitations of the 2.4 volt battery, my only other complaint regarding this gun is its somewhat large size which is difficult to maneuver in such tight spots as the space around the toilet bowl and nearby walls. Although the price for the gun is prohibitive when compared to a hand operated caulking gun, the investment is well worth the expenditure if you have several bathrooms to caulk. Unlike hand operated caulking guns which require a constant hand applied force to expell the sealant, the model 6550 requires only finger pressure on the trigger and when the trigger lock mechanism is engaged even that is not required. This is a feature your hands will certainly appreciate after using two or more cartridges of sealant.

Caulking Guns Review i need to by such a caulking gun
i am a reseller in Germany, we sell Produktcs to repair and remove autoglass. This caulking gun is needed for polyurethan.
we sold in the last year round about 120 other guns. but they are to expensive. we need a cheeper but a better one.

Caulking Guns Review Five tubes and I hardly spilled any!
I hate squeezing a caulking gun. The pain in my wrist makes my hands wobble and a bad job just gets worse. Needless to say I was pleased to discover that Wagner had a cordless gun on the market. A friend at the marina where I work on my antique cruiser had purchased one and recommended it.

I purchased one on the Internet and ten days later it arrived. My task involved scraping the bottom, then raking the cotton seam caulking out of several planks on my 30' mahogany sedan cruiser, then re-caulking with cotton. Two days of this and I was ready to seal the bottom with butyll on the cottoned seams, and good old roofing tar on the others.

Butyll is very hard to squeeze out of a tube, and I had to make four, flawless, continuous, 30' beads while lying on my back in the mud. The Wagner did the job much more effectively than a hand gun.

The roofing tar went onto the upper seams (keeping well clear of the white topsides). It squeezes out as the planks soak up and compensates for the increasing pressure. It went on really easily, though there were many seams to do.

The first charge ran out after three tubes. The butyll was very thick, though. I was impressed that the Wagner had the power to squirt it at all.

The rest of the tar went on without another charge, so I don't know how many tubes of normal viscosity the batteries can manage.
Five would be a good guess, I'd think. The charge takes three hours, by the way.

Two of us have these machines. What we'd really like is access to extra battery packs in case the Wagners play out before we do.

All in all, I found the cordless caulking gun an excellent addition to my toolbox. It is definitely not a toy.

Caulking Guns Review If You Buy This You Must Be Crazy ! ! !
I have this product and it is extremely overpriced
and poorly designed. Using the gun with the small
cartridge is OK with no problem but trying to use the
gun for the large cartridges is almost impossible!
In order to use a large cartridge you have to put the
cartridge in a tube and connect the tube to the gun.
This is done by compressing a hard rubber "O" ring and
here is the problem. Using all my strength I cannot
exert enough pressure to compress this "O" ring and assemble
the gun. Perhaps this is just the fault of the cartridge
but this should not happen. You cannot have a caulking gun
that will work only on certain cartridges.
It is better to have two guns (one for small cartridges
and another for the large catridges). For the price of this
gun you can purchase two guns. You just have to look around
spend some time. I returned this gun and now have two seperate
caulking guns that work great (and have money let over)!

Caulking Guns Review Great tool, with some improvements needed...
I do love this tool, but with some reservations! The 1/10th gun worked great for me, except for the higher cost of "tubes" VS the 30 ounce "tubes". The 1/10th gun is lighter to use, thus less tiring. You do take more time changing "spent" tubes, with the 1/10th gun. The 30 ounce gun had problems with the large "o-ringe" seal that kept twisting in, and loosing air pressure, cuasing construction delays, having to fix the ring, that I got so tired of fixing, that I just stopped using the 30 ounce gun. This was a shame since I paid for both, and now use the 1/10th gun, due to the above problem. The 30 ounce tubes are also cheaper, down the road. I also noted the pressure clamp on the air hose to come loose, and need clamping. I recommend the manufacturer look at the above complaint, on the clamp and 30 ounce tool. The 1/10th gun works great, and sure beats hand caulking.

Caulking Guns Review Caulkmaster is worth the money
I am one of those people who are just plain bad at caulking, put on about half a tube, and then smear the excess on my pants leg. This product allows me to draw a perfect bead, thin or wide depending on who hard you squeeze the trigger. It's heavyer with the larger tubes but it works great for putting down construction adhesive to lay subflooring. If you have a compressor on the job you need this gun.
