Clamps Review A good deal on a good router
I saw this router at a local big box store and liked the features and fit. The one I looked at did not have the handy height adjustment for a router table, but the one ordered did. A real bonus. Of the 6 routers I have and use regularely, I think this will become my favorite.
The price at Amazon was the same as the big box, but no tax or shipping. It also included the accessory kit, not available in the local store. I saved over $50.

Clamps Review A great deal
I am a carpenter/woodworker using routers & other power tools all day long. This kit is a great package to have on site, allowing quick and easy swaps between fixed and plunge bases. Powers through hardwoods with ease. Nice & light compared to my old Bosch plunge router.
I would recommend this tool to anyone whose living depends on the tools he/she uses on a daily basis.

Clamps Review WOW this is a great deal
This is the best router I have ever used and the price is outstanding value. This is the same price as menards sells just the fixed speed router kit without any of the extra attachments. Fast shipping great product.

Clamps Review Good Purchase
I too, like some of the others, could not find the clamp in any local retail stores. I have the low end Delta MS250 10" compound mitre saw. The Amazon listing did not show my model for this clamp, but on the Delta website, it said that the clamp would fit any Delta 10" and 12" mitre saw. The clamp fits perfectly on my MS250. I felt the shipping cost was a little excessive from Amazon, with shipping and original price the cost was about $25. But, I was glad to be able to find it online, and clamp was shipped in a timely manner.

I actually got this as a quick way to get my order for a Delta Miter Saw above a dollar threshold so I could use a discount coupon. I am glad I did, it has been handy to have an extra clamp.

Clamps Review A powerful tool!
This is the first reciprocating saw I've ever used, period, so I cannot comment upon its efficacy relative to others, corded models, etc.

BUT: I'm no newbie to power saws in general, and let me say, this just gobbled through a 2X4 wall stud, nails and all with no effort. The blade wasn't even hot! Two quick cuts and boom, I was done.

Whether it is too much tool for a weekend warrior, I cannot say; the good news is, it will apparently never be too little! :-)

Clamps Review THIS SAW DEFINITELY CUTS THE MUSTARD!!!
THE DEWALT 24VOLT CORDLESS RECIPROCATING SAW CAN GET THE JOB DONE.I REALLY LIKE HOW IT HANDLES WHEN YOUR CUTTING.UNLIKE SAWS I USED IN THE PAST THIS SAW CUTS LIKE NO OTHER & ITS GOT A REAL AERODYNAMIC FEEL TO IT .THIS IS BY FAR THE ONE SAW THAT CUTS ALL...........BUY ONE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.....

Clamps Review The ONLY Recip Saw to Get
If cordless is a must for you, this is THE recip saw. Tool-less design is nice. My only complaint is that DeWalt is too cheap to include 2 batteries. With all their 24V cordless, you need at least 2 batteries, and if you do a lot of work with it: 3. Thus, your MINIMUM entry price is[steep]. I was told by Home Depot that this tool was overkill. I disagree...longer stroke, tool-less, adj shoe. This weekend warrior has put this tool to a LOT of good use, and never felt it was too heavy or too much power. When it's dirty, sometimes the battery is difficult to remove.

Clamps Review Great addition to a nice miter saw
Overall, PERFECT! (Except the price...):
Works smoothly when clamping. I also really like the quick release function....operates smooth, and I don't have to unscrew a bunch of turns to use it on wider stock. I use it to clamp the piece being but, and more often, when I need to make a stop for repetitive cuts of the same length. Find it on an auction site at a great price ;)

Clamps Review extremely well designed
This is a very well made clamp and is PERFECTLY designed. I wouldn't change a thing. Super easy to use, easily moves from one side to the other. Sometimes I use it to clamp the stock being cut. When cutting short pieces I use it to clamp an end stop into place. This item is priced rather high at the time I write this review. I was able to find a better price at auction somewhere on the web (you can guess where). Another reviewer said having 2 is a good thing. I could imagine having 2, but having 1 is enough for most purposes. They are pricey enough that the cost will keep me from getting a second one. Even at full price, though, it's worth it to buy one.

Clamps Review Great accessory, absolutely necessary!
This clamp is something you really need with the DeWalt saw, as others have said. It keeps your fingers away from the blade while you're making a cut, and is really handy on long or short workpieces. I don't understand the 'pricey' comments some have left. . . compared to what? Where else are you going to get this, but from DeWalt? It's a custom accessory, designed specifically for the DeWalt saw, and it's not a high production run item, so naturally it's going to be 'pricey'!

Clamps Review These clamps are great, no matter what the size
The big benefit to these is that you get true mobility out of them. While holding a piece of work, lined up, in one hand, you use these quick grips in the other hand to secure the work. If it slips while clamping, it is still a one handed tool to release it, and reclamp it again. Enables you to maintain a professional flow to your work. I feel awkward when using regular clamps in comparison. They require two hands. You could use a spring clamp to hold it together, then get another clamp to give it a final hold, but the quick grip saves you from having to do that.
Having these clamps in a few different sizes is beneficial as well. Small ones are more frequently used, and don't get in the way. The 33 1/2" is great when you need to hold larger projects together, and you can't effectively use two smaller ones to substitute. Additionally the macro clamps give you deeper jaws for a farther reach, enabling you to use them for securing work, to your radial arm saw table for example. They are fast enough to be used for almost any application. Sometimes I use them to secure work when sanding with a power sander. A couple squeezes and they are on, and one squeeze and they pop off.
After getting the smaller ones, and using them, I immediately order two of the 33 1/2" for larger projects, and for tie downs on equipment, including the drill press, and occasionally the radial arm saw.
Their is a small rubber stopper, which you can readily remove, in order to reverse the end, and make it a spreader as well. Something not needed very often, but difficult to achieve without one of these.
One note is that these have built in rubber pads, that completely cover the metal internal end. That is an advantage when you do not want to mar the wood. That and the fact that you can squeeze these with one hand, creates a mechanism that is easy to use, but not something that you would want to use for strength clamping. As a safety measure, these clamp sufficiently for most operations, but a threaded bar clamp, is stronger. So for those operations where extreme strength is needed, these are not the clamps to use. You sacrifice mountain holding strength for the ease of use. For example if I was using a large bit on the drill press, and drilling into metal, I would clamp it with something more. Even the slightest movement in an operation like that, could cause a snag, sending the piece into movement. If you are using just one of them, at the end of a 24" board, and decide to rout the other end, it will move on you. Securing it with two of them, and it is super tied down. You get my drift.
The big advantage of quick grip clamps, is that they handle wood beautifully, even for glue up operations. Hold workpieces more than securely to do the job in most applications, and are so handy that they deserve more than 5 stars. I would feel lost without them. It is another tool in the must have category.

Clamps Review My IRWIN experience
I am a proud and happy IRWIN products owner. Quick grip, circular saw blades, pipe clams.
I do not live in the U.S. which makes my live as a craftsman much more complicated, since I do not always get the ideal support to the products I purchase or have hard times finding what I need.
IRWIN has given me a new perspective. The other day I added a few more clams (quick grip 512QC) to my collection. Sadly one o the clams I purchased was defective (it happens, I see no problem in that). Where my little problem turned into a rather uncomfortable issue was when the store that I had purchased these from claimed not to be able to provide me with a replacement one. I wrote to IRWIN immediately searching for help. To my pleasent surprise, the IRWIN representative that took my case wrote back to please provide an address to send the replacement clam. As I asked IRWIN how to get the defective one to them since living in Costa Rica does not make such shipments easy, the answer was to not worry about the damaged good, that all IRWIN was concerned about was to get the replacement to me the quickest way possible.
IRWIN proved themselves not only to have great quality tools, but also an outstanding customer service.
I am glad I had this experience. IRWIN has gained a loyal customer. I strongly suggest anybody to use this brand, a good product with an extraordinary customer serivice is not something I am used to deal will on a daily basis. THANK YOU IRWIN for standing behind your product no matter where it was purchased.

Clamps Review Indispensible Tool

Clamps Review Great design, but newer Irwin version has problems
I have several of these clamps purchased in the late 90's when they were marketed by American Tool Companies. They have been fantastic clamps and are the first clamps that I reach for when working on small projects.

I recently purchased some of the newer Irwin Mini Quick-Grip clamps, which seemed identical to the old ones except for the blue color. Unfortunately, the pistol grip trigger on the newer Irwin clamps does not engage the bar until it has been depressed about half way. The trigger on my older clamps engages immediately and advances the bar much further for each squeeze. In searching through the clamps on display at a local store, I found that the trigger action varied considerably. I was able to find a pair that worked reasonably well, but not nearly as well as my older American Tool Mini Quick-Grips.

The bar on the newer Irwin clamps also seems to be made of a softer steel. The locking mechanism leaves a groove in the bar each time the clamp is locked securely. The bars on my old clamps are still perfectly smooth after years of use.

Clamps Review Nothing better than this
I bought one of these on an impulse buy at a local hardware store - glad I did.

You can actually operate it with one hand. Position, clamp, release all with one hand while you hold the stock or another tool in the other hand.

Today I used it to clamp down some 4x4 fir stock to a sawhorse for some freehand sawzall sculpting: amazing. I'm going to buy 3 more so I have 4 total.

Clamps Review Great Small Clamps
As the other reviewers said, these are the handiest clamps to have. I have six and use them for everything from bench hold downs to assembling projects. Even if I don't use them as the main clamps on a project, I do use them as temporary clamps while I get the others on.

The best thing about them is the size - the handles fit my small hands much better and are more comfortable than their full-size cousins.

Clamps Review Outstanding I will keep buying their products
I have the 12" 18" and 36", I used the installing counter-tops in my kitchen and holding guides on my table saw. The handle never slipped and was very easy to adjust and release.

when you have these clamps. They're super. I thought they were a gimimick, but now that I've built a fence, an arbor, a cabinet and two tables, I'm sold. Get a bunch.

Clamps Review Worked Great! Couldn't be Happier!
The molding on my car was falling off and I needed to glue it back on. I tried using duct tape, but that wasn't working.

I bought a Quick-Grip Bar Clamp to use for the job. It worked great. Very easy to use. Soft pad on the clamp did not scratch the paint.

I'd recommend this to anyone. Another great IRWIN product!

Clamps Review Old faithful with a few improvements
One of my guys has an old and I mean old version of this saw. It has no variable speed. No rubber grip. In fact the whole thing is metal, even the handle. The motor is only four amps but it still cuts like it did 40 years ago. Now you get the same exact mechanism with a more powerful motor, Variable speed, a rubber grip and quick loc blade clamp. I like the 10 amp super sawzall better ( It has a lot less vibration, a longer stroke and a lot more power and I like the orbital one even more.) But if you don't mind a cut taking a few extra minutes here and there, you can't go wrong with this saw. I beleive that it will outlast any other saw from any company including Milwaukee. It's nothing to see one that has been in daily service for 20 or 30 years. No other saw I know of has even been on the market that long. It must be a good tool or how could they give it a LIFETIME warranty. Where else are you going to get that?

Clamps Review Best made
You want a recipro saw that will work in restricted, confined areas. This is it. Shortest stroke in the industry, which means you don't bend blades and destroy things around it.

Dunno why the tool-makers went to longer stroke saws, but glad they still make this one. They last as long as you will, hold up in use. Friend of mine has a brand new Super Sawzall....and he uses an old standard model he inherited from his father; it works better.

Clamps Review Still The Industry Standard
I worked as an Electrician 25 years ago and our shop used Milwaukee tools exclusively for good reason. They took the lickin and kept on ticking.I use this saw for demolition and renovation work around the house and it handles any job with no problem. I definitely reccommend it for the average Joe. If your a contractor and would be using it commercially than go for the 11 Amp model.

Bosch BA160 Work Clamp

Clamps Review A little flimsy
I was initially disappointied when I first received the extra work clamp for my new Bosch Mitre Saw; it struck me as flimsy in comparison to the very solid steel clamp that came with the saw. I had ordered another clamp, wanting one for both sides of the saw cut, and assumed that I would be getting the same simple sturdy clamp that slides into the clamp hole behind the saw fence and swings over the fence to be screwed down on the piece of wood to be cut. The new clamp does this, but it has an added quick-clamp release, that supposedly makes using it faster and easier. But strength was replaced by this " great idea " , and I don't understand why, because the original clamp essentially does the same thing without the release mechanism. It's no big deal, so I give the folks at Bosch three stars for trying to reinvent the wheel. And since the force needed to clamp-down a piece of wood securely on the saw isn't great, any clamp will work ok, even this 'imporved' model. But if you hold the clamps in your hands, and weigh them side-by-side, the original very solid work clamp makes the new one look pretty silly.

Clamps Review Works as advertised
Like the clamp - it has a sliding adjsutment that makes it quick to use and when clamped down - the wood is going any place. Works great on the sliding compound saw.

Clamps Review Why aren't all clamps be like this one?
This product is so well designed, one of the main reasons I bought a Bosch saw was because of their clamp. Do you think this is overstated? It is not. My two primary goals in sawing are (1) to keep all of my fingers, (followed distantly by) (2) to saw wood as needed. A good clamping system is of paramount importance to me.

If a clamp does not work quickly and easily, we tend to dispense with it and just hold the wood. I know several people who found out the hard way the drawbacks of holding while cutting. Bosch is the only manufacturer who goes the extra distance and includes (1) a quick adjust, (2) a quick push clamp, (3) all-metal construction, and (4) a cushion to avoid denting the wood. Bosch is the only company that puts a lot of thought into the design of their clamp.

Way to go, Bosch! I salute you with all the fingers that I was born with!
