Good clamp
Pleased with performance
Great for flooringThe quick clamp feature was good when I had to do a 180 degree turn to square up and install custom tongues, and the jack feature is invaluable for racking the planks when I'm so close to the wall that I can't even use my T&G pneumatic nailer. They paid for themselves on the first use. A definite must have if you plan to do any serious wood floor installs.

not such a bargain.
Great ClampsOh yeah the other dimension you need to know is the distance from the tip to the middle spindle on this clamp is 7 inches.
Great device
- Cut 4 x 8 sheet goods by length or width with cabinet-making accuracy
- Duplicate any cut possible by an expensive commercial panel saw
- Easily cut sheet goods at an angle (impossible with a regular panel saw)
- Sets up quickly and easily—just clamp down the fence, then cut!
- The tracking system works with almost any hand-held circular saw
List price: $99.99 (that's -4% off!)

Made a mess.....
nearly perfect, but for a few thingspros: will cut a perfectly straight line on up to full sheets diagonally. stores well when disassembled. inexpensive.
cons: if the sheets are not supported, or if you're on the roof (my first time using it was on a 7/12 cutting 5/8 OSB at a 45deg bevel for overframes) the lines can be less than perfect. it also adds a slight set up time when compared with a chalkline.
my major complaint is that the saw base did not mount well to my porter cable saw boss 6" saw. i bought the pps-2 specifically because i had this spare saw lying around and intended to dedicate the saw to use with it. i eventually made it work, but only after moving the saw farther over on the base than the specifications called for and after cutting some of the base off with a grinder. before i cut the base, bevels beyond 25deg were impossible.
so, for the price the pps-2 is a great tool to have, but don't expect it to be super-easy to set up. if conditions are controlled, however, better than factory edges are possible.

Finally saw a demo of this unit.At the home improvement show this fall, I got to play with this unit at the Wilton booth. It had a metal looking piece which kept the release unit from self releasing and if you overtightened-the unit just clicked but held on solid. I was pleased to see this. I found another Wilton in a hardware store with non-metal looking pieces which was what the sears ones had in them but didn't bother to buy it.
Great product, awful packagingBut whoever designed the hard plastic packaging should spend eternity in hell unwrapping these things. NO thought was given to the buyer's convenience. Even with sharp industrial shears, it is VERY difficult to remove from the packaging. I would not buy another for that reason alone. In fact, the one I received already had half the package cut away as if someone had given it up and returned it rather than bloody his fingers.

K Clamp Bessey vs Gross StabilThe Gross Stabil Clamps which I own last longer and not one broke. But even if it would, you can buy the parts seperate.
Everything else is fine with both Clamps. There is no difference in the daily use.
The good thing on the Gross Clamps is that they are a few $ cheaper, but not huge amounts.
best klamps I ownTommy O
Great Clamping Power, Lighter than the "Big" Besseys
First of all, I laughed until my sides hurt from reading that other review. What the heck was going on there?
Anyway, it wasn't written by anyone who used these clamps. I have some of them, and here's the "real deal." First of all, they're Besseys, so the quality is typical Bessey -- first rate. If you're buying these to upgrade from the orange "Pony" brand clamps, the Besseys are a definite improvement. They're much much heavier. If, on the other hand, you're going to compare them to the standard Bessey's, which are much more $$$, you're not going to be pleased.
The real benefit with the UniKlamp is the light weight. Many times, I would reach for Pony's or some other light-duty clamp just to keep from having to wield one of the big Besseys, since they're so heavy. The UniKlamp is somewhere in-between the two, and I find myself using them an awful lot. In fact, they're my favorite clamp now.
Oh... and if you can't figure out how to use them (as in the other review), send them to me!
Be safe!

These clamps leave oily stains on your work.Cleaning the pads with solvent doesn't help and getting the oil off the wood is difficult/impossible.
I've contacted the manufacturer and they are aware of the problem. They recommend going over the oily marks with solvent two or three times. Then, they recommend that you apply wood stain to the project.
To read more Amazon reviews about this problem, check the 12 inch version of this same clamp.
Even with the problem I've just described, I have to say that these are strong, well-made, quality clamps....if you remove the plastic pads.
