This is a great starter set for anyone, but I did not receive the pipes for the pipe clamps. I can buy pipes of varying lengths for use with the pipe clamps at a hardware store, but if it's in the picture, I except to receive it.

Poor rating is for misleading picture.

The clamp set looks quite interesting but I can't tell the size of the clamps from the picture or the description. Clamp sizes cover a wide range. I wouldn't want to expect one size and get another.

Amazon says they can't tell me the sizes as they only know what they get from the manufacturer. The manufacturer is (was) unresponsive.

So I can only review the lack of information rather than what might be exactly the clamp set I want ... or not.

A quick check on individual clamp prices found the 512QC at a low of about $20, the 59200 about $5, the 223112 about $9, and the 224134 about $11. Figuring 2 of each of those that comes out to about $90, so this looks like a good deal for decent sized clamps that I'll likely order from Amazon.

Based on this price analysis, finally having full information, and what I've seen of Irwin clamps, I wanted to upgrade my rating to 4 stars but couldn't figure out how to edit that.

These are wonderful clamps. I love IRWIN clamps. Very high quality.

Also, the pipes for the pipe clamps are never included when you buy pipe clamps. These are carried by most local Ace or Home Depots.

I have used Black & Decker Power tools all my life. So when I purchased this jig-saw, I was surprised by the poor quality of parts used. For example there was a platic clamp used to hold the blade. It worked for a couple of days then it started releasing the blade. I will not purchase any more tools with B&D name on them.

This jigsaw works fine, except for on very important glitch. When using the wood blade included in the package, the blade constantly pops out, no matter how thick,or thin the material you are cutting.

I made a mistake and did not use this saw until well after the time allowed for returns. If not I would have returned it immediatley. My recommendation is to not buy a jigsaw with this "quick clamp" option. Get one that requires you to screw the blade tight.

My attempts to contact Black and Decker about this problem met with less than spectacular results. This purchase was a waste of money.

The steel band clamp should only be used in one type of application. That being where you are putting two SMOOTH surfaces together, like a garden hose or radiator hose. But with a DC application of a ribbed hose, the steel band clamp is NOT the preferred choice, use the wire clamp.

The steel band clamp will only strip and never be fully seated trying to compress and secure the wire rib to the smooth DC fitting. The steel banding and worm screw is not designed to do that task and provide the needed pressure to fully seat the ribbed hose. Whereas, the wire clamp will actually strattle the rib on both sides and create a perfect clamping fit.

I used both types of band clamps- steel band clamps and wire band clamps- with the ribbed hose in my dust collection system.The steel band clamps slipped more, were harder to control going on and didn't seat as well as the the wire band clamps

Two Stars-one because it really is metal and two it does work----how ever poor threads,faces rough,and a lot of slop,this is the stuff that craftsman tools put their name on, and we know where they are headed,IT GETS THE JOB DONE,like peeing with your pants up but wish you had them down,but I would get Adjustable,Jorgensen,Bessey---Spend the small amount of extra money and be HAPPY---I mean every time I use these clamps ,every time I wish I got the better ones,Don Gorman

The pipe clamp does work, but it has a tendency to slip on the pipe if you try to tighten it down very much. The release to slide the clamp end up and down the pipe is hard to use (this also the part that slips when you tighten it down.) You have get you finger under a lever and lift it up to move this piece rather than just pushing it down like some other models. Again, it does work but if I had not used a gift certificate to buy it I would probaly ship it back for a refund.

I ordered this clamp based on the photograph in the catalog and the text that states it is a "face frame clamp". Later I found that the clamps pictured are actually two different clamps made by Woodstock. One for face frame and one for clamping thin stock at right angles. Unfortunately Tool Crib only has the one for thin stock.

This clamp and the face frame clamps are the idea tool for clamping. They are light easy to work with and you can work on one joint at a time without fighting a bar or pipe clamp. The problems come with the design. I have snaped two right at the throat of the threaded end. That was tighting only hand tight. Iam not a hulk of a man so be careful in tighting. Otherwise I would give this clamp and its brother the face clamp 5 plus stars

The jig is fine but the clamp collar supplied is junk - cheap aluminum with a cutoff unhardened socket head screw that sticks out way to far for this use. Had to replace it in the first ten minutes.

You get what you pay for. The lamp itself is OK. The clamp is pitiful. It doesn't support the lamp in any position except pretty much straight over the clamp; if you extend the lamp out from the straight-up position, the clamp starts falling over no matter how tightly it is screwed down. Clamp base is too small, screw is too short, "lock nut" is a joke. Caveat emptor.

I wasted money on this clamp because the description didn't mention the throat depth. I needed to clamp a 3" ear to the top of cabinet sides thus making the toe kick by overhanging the cabinet top. This clamp looked to be perfect, but the throat depth was about an inch shy. The side grabbers wouldn't reach past the ear to grasp the cabinet edge.

The clamp would be OK for edge banding, but if you are doing anything else, be sure to check the required throat depth

Looks like and feels like a cheap tool. Flimsy. Nothing like any Delta product I've ever seen.

I bought this vice soon after I bought my drill press thinking it would be a much needed accessory. I was wrong! I think I have used this thing twice in five years...

There is nothing wrong with this tool. The casting is heavy and the screw operates smoothly. The main issue is that it is a pain to attach to the drill press table and also a pain to make adjustments to once it is attached. Also, the jaws are a bit too narrow for a lot of what I might use the thing for...

Basically its a bad idea that is really well made. If you can think of a good use for it, then by all means buy it for its quality and price - otherwise forget it.
