Saves time and makes me more moneyI have been a general contractor for years. Gone are the days of leaving the job site and having the wind rip off my felt. I have spent nights wondering if my tarps or felt are going to blow off during a storm. This gun shoots down the buttons with great ease. The buttons seem at first to be expensive, but the time saved especially in windy areas makes it worth wild. The only recommendation is keep the gun clean and well lubricated. It has been my experience, you need to keep the buttons from getting damaged or wet. Furthermore, if the buttons get to hot, the tape holding them together tends to stick to the nose and inside track. All in All, I will buy another when needed.....

Monster ToolThis tool is a winner. I've installed 60 squares of 30 lb. roof felt with it and it has worked perfectly. It's easy to load, never jams, and saves a lot of time. The only thing that would make it better is if it were hoseless.

UnstoppableUnbelievable power!! Brought this little driver along for a big family project which required putting 4 inch screws through 4x4's and 2x6's. My in-laws were ridiculing the compact size of the driver wondering why I hadn't bought a 18V DeWalt, like they all had. I immediatly turned their smiles upside down when I drove a 4 inch screw halfway through a 4x4, and halfway into another 4x4. The only thing that stopped the driver from driving the screw all the way through was that I hadn't put a long enough bit on the end of the driver. This thing is seriously powerful and the batteries last surprising long for a tool that is driver and pounding at the same time. Surprisingly, the tip never slipped out of the screw, and it never slipped, just don't buy cheap screws. Also, don't be surprise if this tool is louder than your screwguns due to the hammer action of the tool, sort of has a machine gun sound to it. However, I doubt that the extra noise will dampen the smile on your face as you pound screws through wood, or if you can find a tough enough screw, through concrete.
beats the makita's all day longthis little tool is bad-A**. small and light enough to carry all day. powerful enough to run in 8 inch deck screws without slowing down. buy this one.
Simply Awesome!!!I'm in the military and stationed in Okinawa, Japan. When I first arrived in the Vertical Repair carpenter shop the local nationals were using these drills. I thought they were toys by the look of them... especially after using DeWalt 14.4's at my last base. When I got my hands on this impact driver, I was astounded! The power this tool has is amazing, and I have had no problem with it at all. This will be my first purchase when it comes to a cordless drill due to the durability, and construction of it. The fast charge time is also a plus as well, especially after a hard days use on the job. I give this impact driver a 5 star rating, but would easily give it 6 if Amazon allowed it!

Do your shelf a favor Buy IT!You need one of these if you have ever used a electric one with not enough power. This wrench is incredibly light and very rugged. If you have an air compressor you have to buy this, it has great power and does a very good job in a very small package.
Big things come in small packagesThe old saying, Big things come in small packages, is true. This product from IR is outstanding. You get the comfort and usability in the 3/8 model but with the 1/2 inch anvil. I was somewhat skeptical of the power but no problems exist. I use it as my daily tire and suspension gun now for 3 months with no problems. Just remember to oil daily. The stress of the heavy jobs on the 3/8 motor could be a problem if not properly maintained. In all it's a great buy for the tool man.
Big performance, small package. The IR-2112 is a handful especially when you consider how small and comfortable it is. I can work with this thing all day long. Don't let it's small size and light weight fool you. I'd stack it against some of the other 1/2 impact wrenches anyday!

The Holy DrillOur company bought a few of these drills about 5yrs ago. They are all still going strong (the Bosch drills have burned up). Most drills rated by the manufacturers for 7/8" say they can handle 7/8" drilling periodically, but their mainstay is 1/4-1/2". These Milwaukee drills have been put through the wringer with our guys using up to 1&1/8" hammer bits going through solid block walls with very little effort. Milwaukee's 3/8" hammer is also a strong workhorse that is worth every cent.
The "Hammer" in Masonary Drills! This Milwaukee 1\2" 5370-6 Hammer Drill gets the job done! I had a DeWalt cordless hammer drill for 3 years and except for masonry mortar work, it was just a good drill that was a play toy at cracking and drilling concrete! When I found this Milwaukee model at a close out price, I purchased it and sold the cordless. I shouldn't have waited this long . I always wanted the Milwaukee drill. Powerful, reliable, lightweight, built like a tank and indestructible! It will drill through anything I can put in front of it. This is a very high quality tool with a Great reputation. I though I could kill two birds with one drill?! NOT! Got a new "Cordless Drill" separately for convenience and this Milwaukee to lay the hammer down! Would have been worth the full price 3 years ago, but I'll live and learn!
Milwaukee tools' 1/2" hole shooter is the BESTThis Milwaukee #5370-6 1/2" MAGNUM hole shooter is the absolute best in drilling in masonry or brick. It chews it apart with little effort on the user! This tool uses the masonary bits and drives them two steps further in the implemantation of drilling holes for either fasteners to be placed inside or holes for your wires to run through. I have pysically wasted two other well known brand name drills {AEG! } because they just were not TOUGH ENOUGH. This Milwaukee drill IS tough enough to do the job and I just wish I had bought this in the first place. If you are going to do a job: use the right tool and go to Milwaukee Tools as they have the toughest tools that outlast the jobs!

The real dealSmooth and torquey. Very easy to handle. For most jobs I prefer this to a heavier model. It is refreshing that this power tool comes in a useful case that actually can hold more than the tool and a bit. I'm not big on the plastic cases supplied with power tools these days since they take up too much room and have no space inside for anything else. This metal case is actually useful. The supplied bits are pretty high quality too.
Quality drillI've had my 5397-6 3/8" Heavy Duty Hammer Drill for a few months and used it a lot. It has performed flawlessly. I have yet to do any all day drilling in hard granite, but it goes through concrete and limestone like butter. It has the solid feel and smooth action you expect from a Milwaukee tool. It switches out of hammer mode with a simple turn of the chuck collar. I do wish it had the detachable power cord like the 1/2" model, but that is a minor issue. The depth stop mechanism is a little cheesy, but it seems to work fine (I dont use it that much). The 3/8" capacity is plenty for most applications, I'm usually drilling for Tapcons, and its perfect. The case is typical Milwaukee, very sturdy. The set of bits included with the drill are good quality. I am very happy with the 5397-6 and would recommend it without reservation.
3/8" work horseI run a large automotive repair shop. We relocate equipment and perform building maintenance on a regular basis. Our technicians have asked for a hammer drill for a long time. I finally broke down and got them one. In the past we borrowed a 1/2" hammer drill(a different brand). Our techs claim the 3/8" Milwaukee drills faster with less vibration. They love the balanced lightweight design. The masonary drill bits included are first rate, I have not replaced any of them yet. The case is top quality and has enough room to hold some of our most common fasteners. The depth guage does seem a little cheesey at first, but it works fine, mounting behind the removeable side handle. Overall truly a 5 star product

Deserves 10 StarsUnlike DeWalt, Milwaukee used the same design of their electric saw to build a cordless. The early model had less than spectacular quick-change clamp but that was remedied quite nicely.
Thank You MilwaukeeJust want to say that it's great Milwaukee offers the "tool only" so we don't have to keep purchasing batteries and chargers. I've purchased 2 milwaukee cordless tools with 2 batteries and a charger each, and then was able to purchase this saw and a work light without those items. So now I have a bettery for each tool and a backup charger, and they all fit in one case....beautiful!!!
P.S....I've had the 18 volt drill, circle saw, sawzall and light for well over a year now and use them heavily , no problems, excellent tools.
The first tool out of the truckI'm a concrete and masonry contractor and my guys use this tool for everything from cutting forms to cutting roots in their way. Exceptional performance, we usually use up two batteries in a day, but the fast charge can usually keep up. Almost indistructable, have seen it droped from over 8 ft. from scaffolding and just bounce. The keyless chuck is fantastic. I have had too many tools with keys or allen wrenches sit in the truck unused for the want of a key. Have had the tool for over two years and am still using the original batteries but, this morning the battery charger gave up the ghost. I guess thats what you get for leaving it out in the rain a half of douzen times, more or less. I do not buy cheap tools, I feel that my employees deserve the best to make them the best. If I only had enough money to buy one tool this would be it.

Tough, Versatile, Lightweight & PowerfulThis drill is great. I have this and the 2620 3/8" drill and they are the pair of the century. This drill stacked up against every other drill I tried. The only other drill that came close was the Milwaukee, but it was much heavier. I highly recommend this one. The 977510 is tough, versatile, lightweight & powerful.
If you need only one toolIf I could take only one power tool with me! Smooth runningand lots of torque. Hammer action also. Handles like a smaller drill, Easy on the arms when working overhead and size allows you to get into places others don't fit. Uses standard shank drills,a plus. We've used ours to anchor Telco equiptment in concrete floors and walls. If you're not careful she'll go right thru the deck.Thats 3" reinforced concrete with a 3/4" masonry bit. Will do wonders thru Mild Steel. We take it on the jobsite and amaze all those guys with Milwaukee or Bosch drills. It would be well worth if it were only a regular drill. 3 Years of service without repairs.
Makes Dust of your Masonary! This is one, beefy gem of a hammer drill. It has plenty of power to handle ANY of your drilling needs and can make a 1/4" hole through a solid red brick (not the morter)in 42 seconds! Whats nice about this drill is that it's compatable with all your standard-shaft drill bits, unlike an SDS hammer drill in which you would need an adapter to use them. Also, SDS bits are more expensive and sometimes harder to find than standard-shaft hammer bits. When the battery in your cordless drill dies and you forgot to recharge the spare, no problem! Plug it in and press on! Most of my application is to set anchors. With it's 2-speed variable control, it provides great control on a variety of surface textures and reduces "walking" away. The maximum size hammer bit I've used to make a hole so far is 5/8" and had no problems making dust out of a reinforced concrete building. I have no doubt it has enough power to make a 3/4" hole... maybe more! The only drawback I have found is that the hi-low speed switch jams sometimes, and you have to rotate the chuck by hand while turning the switch. This is addressed in the owners manual, but it does slow you down. If you have to drill BIG holes in one-shot, fork over a paycheck and get a SDS or Spline-drive hammer. They are great at doing that job. Otherwise, you can make big holes with this beauty by drilling a circle of smaller holes and chisel them out. Porter Cable makes a great, reliable product. This one is no exception.

Best Hammer Ever!!!This is the best hammer I have ever used. It is lightweight and better than I expected. I would reccommend this hammer to everyone!
Forget Other Framing HammersI am a pro framer. I cut my teeth in the olden days of "set, sink" doing production framing in the hot California sun without compressors. These days I use a nailer a lot but I still apprieciate a nice hammer. I can still spank a 16d home in one swat if I want to. I have used a lot of different hammers. For the feel I like a Dalluge but the claw is a joke for pulling nails. The Harts are also a broken handle waiting to happen. For real carpenters a wood handle is the standard. Fiberglass or steel handles will shatter your arm and invite a bad case of tendonitis.
The Vaughn has a nice claw that will pull nails with side to side leverage that will not stress the handle like straight back pulling. The inside edges of the Vaughn are good for getting a grip on a bent nail. Only the claw on a Plumb hammer has a hold on a nail as good as a Vaughn in my experiance. The handle/ head will not come loose on the Vaughn like other wooden handles for some reason. Hart, Stilletto, Dalluge Plumb, and Stanley all have chronic head loosening problems. I have a lot of wood handle hammers and the Vaughn is the only one that seems to stay tight.
If you want an indestructable handle then I suggest an Estwing with the leather handle. The leather seems to dampen the vibration enough to be a comfortable all day hammer. Forget all the other Estwing rubber handles. They do not adsorb palm sweat and the vibration will have you running for analgesia before the weekend.

Smashing HammerI bought this hammer based on the great reputation that Vaughan has. I use this hammer often and the nail slot comes in real handy in restricted area's and for people like me who on occasion have smashed thumbs, lol. The hammer has held up well and I am very happy, I almost bought one of those expensive titanium hammers but after doing my homework I decided to go with the CFB2HCM and with the money I saved I bought I nice chisel set.

HM0810B - the best chipping hammer on the market!the HM0810B is the best, lightweight hammer on the market. 2900 blows per minute, with a weight of only 11.7lbs. This is the hammer that should be used for chiseling, chipping and scaling, NOT the HK1810, which should only really be used for removing tile and plaster.
mistakeapparently the hammer I reviewed is a genuine Makita. I regret my error.

Power For DiggingI bought this product for digging. I also appreciated the contractor review previously done. I live in an area with poor soil and needed something that was easier to use than a pick. I got the spade and chisel bits. This rotary hammer works great. I dug holes or 8 plants in 20 minutes...and the machine did the work. The cost was well-worth saving my heart and back. I'm sorry that I didn't buy one of these 10 years ago!
Biggest bang for the buckRotary hammers are a big buck item so its important to consider all of them. I use this Bosch hammer in my electrical contracting business. Its small enough to handle easily and it is built to minimize the vibration that comes with drilling concrete. It can drill through concrete up to is specification and handle ground rod driving too. Buy this unit and the Bosch bits but consider the DeWalt accessories, like ground rod driver or spade bit, because they are usually less money.
