Hand Tool Review Great little key chain
This is a great little key chain (or badge holder) for anyone who needs constant/quick access to a key or badge throughout the day. I bought it for my fiance who works in a hospital. It's small so it doesn't bother you when it's attached to your belt/waistband/pocket/whatever and the cord is quite long. Good buy.

Hand Tool Review A nice professional tile setting device
When I first saw this tool at Amazon I was skeptical. It looked like a lot of money for a tool that does something that can be done without a special tool. Marking edge tiles for cutting when tiling a floor. I am always looking for new and creative tools to make the work easier, better, faster, or fun. So, while the price of this tool seemed a little high, I wanted to try it. I am glad that I did and don't have any regrets. In fact, I am so pleased with this device that I am going to buy the larger version of this tool for use on larger tiles.

Now, I am not sure this tool is worth the money for the one time tile setter. Sure, it would save some time, but I don't know if the price is justified for a one time use. The time savings per tile is not too significant. However, if you tile a lot of floors like my company does, this tool pays for itself in time savings and ease over and over.

A quick overview of what this does. It is an adjustable measuring device. You set it to the size of the tile that you are using, plus you add in any joint size and other compensating widths you need. You lock the knob down and you are ready to go. Then to mark a tile for cutting all you do is lay this device against the wall or edge and use it as a guide to mark a tile for cutting. Any angles in the edge or obstacles are transferred onto the tile to be cut. So then it is a quick trip to the wet saw and the cut tile fits perfectly. No tape measures or rules needed. Just this device and a china marker. The time savings over a lot of tiles can really add up. Not to mention reductions in wasted materials because of faulty measuring, marking, and cutting.

I really like this tool, and if you tile floors you will too.

Hand Tool Review A must have tool!
I would recommend the MAGIC-MARK-IT to anyone working on a flooring project. From ease of use to value, this ceramic tile cutting gage is a must have for the professional installer as well as the do it yourselfer. The lettering for cutting around outlets, etc. is pure genius! The savings on material waste is tremendous. I love this thing so much, I may tile
my entire home (don't tell my wife I said that).

Hand Tool Review Excellent bag
I am VERY happy with this bag. I'm an industrial electrician, and I beat the [...] out of tool bags (overload them, throw them, set them down where I probably shouldn't, etc.). I've tried several rubber bottom tool bags, and this is the first that when loaded, the sides don't hang low enough to touch the surface the bag is set on, causing A) whatever fluid or filth is on that surface to cover/seep in to the part of the bag touching the ground or B) cause whatever tool is kept in that part of the bag to wear through it.
So far, so good with this one, and from me that's high praise....

Hand Tool Review Great Procuct
This is the best tool bag I have seen. Very well built, easy access to all tools. Strong bottom that keeps tools orgainsed and dry. Ideal for Electricians!!

Hand Tool Review Favorite tool, almost
End cuting pliers are one of the most useful tools on the planet. Someone needs to give them a better name, something a little sexier. I use mine mostly for pulling nails - they're the only way to go.

Hand Tool Review The Persuader
This is an excellent tool.

I have two sizes, but use the 8" most often. It works well to pull nails, cut wires, nibble metal, and bend, break, cut, or remove all manner of materials.

The nipper gets into tight spots to pull nails when a hammer or pry bar won't fit.

I used this tool last night. I was removing an old fireplace for a basement remodelling project. I used it to pull nails from the wooden framing. Then I cut the thick wire in the reinforced fabric ducting connected to the blower assemblies. I used it to cut the 12 gauge Romex to the blower (diag cutters or lineman's pliers may be the purist' choice-but I had this tool in hand...)Finally, I used it to bend sharp, nasty sheet metal edges into less dangerous shapes/positions when I was ready to carry the firebox outside.

I have also used it in the past to grab rounded screw heads and extract them.

Dependable tool. Frequently and successfully used. Highly recommended.

Hand Tool Review Hard to find but great to use
These are the best cutters for cutting copper and tin coated copper cable with out flatening out the wire. I cut cable up to .5" with these and I have to braze or micro weld them together and most cutters flaten out the wire making it very diffecult to get a good weld. These cutters have a special curved cutting edge and they cut from all sides. If you work in a wire mill and run the big cable; than these are the cutters for you!

Hand Tool Review Large steps for comfort
I am a chicken when it comes to heights, but this step ladder's large steps/platforms (largest of ANY Cosco makes by the way) is the best step ladder around. And the tray, tool holder and papertowel rack work very well. Everyone wants to use my step stool now - in fact I just bought a second one for work use. I like it that well. Worth every penny, and the safest and most comfortable step stool around. It is a bit on the heavy side for me (a lady) to carry any distance, but I can carry it with both hands. I still know this is the best product and worth the cost.

Hand Tool Review handiest ladder I've found
Really wide & deep steps, large work shelf with drawer ,and even a paper towel holder. Tray/drawer are plastic, but they work fine. It's easy to fold-up and light enough to move easily.

Hand Tool Review kicker
this kicker is great. i have bought a lot of roberts kickers but ended up returning them because they break after 2 days. this kicker holds up great and does the job magnificently. i highly recomend this kicker for your tool box.

Hand Tool Review Carpet Knee Kicker
I just want to write about how a carpet knee kickers should be considerd for purchase by an inexperienced carpet installer. Not all carpet knee kickers are the same. The design of the product makes a difference. To an inexperienced carpet installer, all knee kickers are the same, but as they become experienced, they will see that this is not the case. Some kickers are not as comfortable to work with than others. A person needs to adjust to the product to get the best performance from it, but their are other name brand knee kickers that tend to be more user friendly. An experienced carpet installer will know the difference and the comfortabilty of a knee kicker when compared to others knee kickers. Comfortability and performance from a product will allow the user to properly stretch the carpet to its most maximum stretch without using a power stretcher. An understanding that not all knee kickers are the same in comfortability and performance, will allow the consumer to make a wise purchase according to their preference in knee kickers.

    Hand Tool Review Fantastic Hammer
Have been in the carpentry trade for almost forty years and have used many different models and weights of hammers. This is no doubt the finest hammer I've ever used. I would recommend this superb tool to anyone....

Hand Tool Review Hammer for the disabled
I only have about 5% use of my left hand. Recently I read an add about the Deathstick with the magnetic nail holder. Having a hard time starting nails one handed I was very intreged by this feature. After purchsing this hammer and using it I was extremely impressed. The hammer has become a permanent addition to my tool pouch.

    Hand Tool Review Disappointed expectations
I love good hand tools and have bought and inherited many of the best. After much shopping research, it appeared that this Corona Clipper 37" Professional Super Duty Bypass Lopper would be a great addition to my tool collection. Unfortunately, I can give it only two stars for being ruggedly built and having a good sharp blade, because the performance has been a disappointment.
Recently, I've been trimming a lot of trees, (honey locust, cottonwood, silver maple, and oak) and I found that the lopper took a good deal of force to trim off small diameter limbs (<3"). For several weekends, I worked on these trees (14 trailer loads of brush and limbs) and I kept trying out the lopper. Though I am above average in strength, I found that I was doing much more work than the lopper was doing.
I just now came out the yard after attacking some 25 year old Manhattan Euonymus bushes. They were very over-grown and 10 feet tall. Some of the base vines were over 3" diameter. I wiggled my way into the tangled mess with my Corona lopper and found out quickly that this was the wrong tool to cut the base vines. To open the blade jaw, even for a small diameter cut, required that the handles spread open very wide, too wide for the tight quarters I was in. So I pulled out some old loppers I had, Fiskars 24" geared action. It did the job well. After pulling out the vine/limbs, I decided to test the cutting force of the Corona versus the Fiskars. The Fiskars required less effort to cut through the same limb. That's when I decided to write this review.
The Corona product has good quality materials, but the design is a dinosaur for effective cutting.

Hand Tool Review Heavy-duty, effective and efficient
I've been using these loppers for a year and a half. They are enourmously more effective than any loppers at $40-50. Pricey, yes, but worth every penny.
The blade is of ultra-high quality steel, and so sharp, you would think you could shave with it. In fact, if you have kids, you'd better take care to keep them away from this tool.
The handles are tough and show no signs of weakening or cracking, despite dreadfully heavy use.
The manufacturer's rating on the maximum branch diameter is modest. In fact, you can cut much thicker branches with this unit - with ease. My use of a small chain-saw has dropped to nil.
The clippers are heavier than any I've used before. You notice the weight after a while. But, the speed and ease of cutting makes up for that.
I've found that storage can be a little tricky. When you hang the clippers, they have a tendency to swing open - and you -really- don't want that to happen with something this sharp. It takes a little playing to find out how to hang them securely (using the manufacturer-provided metal ring, and your own loop of rope).

This is a tremendously valuable tool. If you want the best, I believe these Corona clippers may be it. But, of course, you'll pay for it. In this case, however, I believe I've got everything I paid for, so I can give full marks in the rating of these clippers.

    Hand Tool Review Great loppers
I purchased a pair of these loppers several years ago for $150 and have used them for over 100 hours of work. Compared to a $40 pair of loppers which I purchased with a "lifetime warranty" and then bent the same afternoon, these loppers are wonderful. The hardened steel is extremely hard and around 1/4" thick -- I cannot imagine what it would take to make the steel fail on these loppers. As far as the handles go, I did eventually manage to break one of the handles after a couple years which I replaced with a custom-made handle fabricated from oak and some angle iron. These loppers slice through green wood like butter. The problems I've had with the handle originated from cutting through a dry branch which had been down on the ground. While these loppers are not unbreakable, they are by far the toughest loppers I have come across.
