Great for the priceGood little swiss army type knife, not as sturdy a construction, but can't beat it for the price. The serrated edges are not sharp at all, you must sharpen them before use though the knife is fairly sharp. The nail file is also not all that useful though in a pinch it's not all that bad. The tooth pick and tweezers are such great little additions, but the quality really isn't up the the swiss army standard, but again for the price it's well worth it.

Great Drywall AidIn addition to the drywall screw bag, you always need your pencil, razor knife, phillips screwdriver and black marker. This handy sheath hooks to the front of the screw bag or onto your belt to keep these items at your fingertips. Really worth
the cost!
the cost!
Good optionFor those who hate velcro, this is a great option to carry the "multi-tool/mag-lite" combo. The addition of the pen loops is an added bonus. The clip is also really nice as you don't feel like it's going to break like similar tool-packs with plastic clips, and it's easy to get onn and off your belt.
Durable and cost effective, overall a solid product.
Great Little Tool Holder !There are 2 things I carry on my belt everyday on the job, My cell phone and this little pouch with a Gerber tool and my utility knife. I have only 2 small gripes, I wish that the back pad was a bit stiffer because my pouch has sagged a bit, and that there was a double layer at the bottom of the 2 tool holders because mine has now worn a hole in the bottom of both holders. With that said, It's hard to compain when the item is only 5 bucks and mine has remained faithful for 2 years!!

Nice pliers, poor other tools. Good lookingI got this tool for free with another (Gerber) multi-tool. I would not buy this tool for much money.
If you want a folding pair of small needle-nose pliers, this is a pretty good choice. The motion is smooth, the machining is fairly precise, and the spring-loaded action is really handy. The pliers are indeed small; they are suitable for items no more than 1/4 inch (8mm) wide. The handles are an adequate 2.5 inches long, and while they are not quite level with one another, it's no big deal. Pliers feel quite strong, with minimal flexing.
The large straight screwdriver is poorly made, with a rounded-off instead of perfectly straight shape. The can and bottle openers are abnormally shallow. The serrated blade is very thick but not very sharp. The straight blade is tiny and not sharp. The cross-head screwdriver is tiny, like a sub-#1 Philips but more vaguely shaped. The nail file looks and feels like a student project. In short, none of the fold-out tools is of a quality to match the pliers and handles -- they say "made by the lowest bidder in China".
The wood accents on the handles are attractive and feel good, but they do make the handles surpringly thick -- about 18mm at the thickest point.
For the pliers and appearance, I would give 4 stars. For the other built-in tools, I would give 1 star (a failing grade).

Winchester 22-41347 Small Wood ToolWell, it all depends what you paid for this tool. I got it from Amazon for $4.20, free shipping. And for me the price/quality ratio is just fine. My screwdrivers are OK, pliers are fine for a small tool. The only complaint is that knife is not easy to open sometimes, but it is because my nail is very short. I also like the belt holster, the total size and weight of this tool is just right for me to have it on it the whole day at work. Sure, for $15 I would go with a Gerber tool. But for the money it works for me.
Simply put......I ended up purchasing a total of 5 of these. It's something to carry around in my pocket, not for major surgery. And the other 4 people that I passed them on to enjoy owning theirs, too. At under $5.00, I think it was a fantastic purchase.

Used To Be The Best...The original Leatherman used to be the best thing around until they outdid themselves. I still own this original Leatherman (in any form they are better than the best Swiss Army Knife) but by contrast this version of the Leatherman is awkward and painful to use. If you really need a grip when the item is open the edges of the handle bite into the hand. The blades, as are all tool here, are inside, and nothing locks into place. I strongly recommend picking up almost any other Leatherman than this one, if you really need one you'll be glad you spent the extra money.
Carried it on my Gasmask belt in Kuwait/Saudi ArabiaI carried this on my Gas Mask Belt (ie all the time) during Desert Storm. I can't begin to estimate how often I used it. The Black Oxide color was a plus for carrying in a combat zone. Although at times I wished it were bright orange (when I dropped it at night in the desert) I still have it in my glove compartment.

Show But No GoThis multi-tool set is really pretty, but it is all show and no go. The tools are so heavy and clunky that they are difficult to use. The jig saw has an extra button on the power head that makes it very difficult to use. You actually have to push a button with both hands to get it to work. All of the tools are very noisy and require ear protection to use. The batteries have a very short life and a very long charging time. If you accidentally leave them on the charger it will distroy them. I bought this set for my son for Christmas, but the little elves that built it were obviously not tool makers. I'm sending the whole mess back. No more Black and Decker for me!
Old-TechAs you can see, the other reviews date all the way back to 2000, which tells you that this product was designed a long time ago compared to other cordless tools and batteries available today. This set was, in it's prime, pretty good. I bought it for my mom for Xmas 2001 (which has only been used a couple of times,) and bought one for myself (to replace my Ryobi 12v) a year later
One of my (2) batteries became very aenemic after a year, and the other one's pretty much shot now. For light household use, the driver's pretty much average for a 12v, but the saw and sander eat up the poor capacity NiCD's pretty quick. Forget about replacing the batteries, too, since they are the same capacity as the originals, and about $50 a pop! I may share in some of the blame for the relatively short life of the batteries, because the charger has no trickle or shut-off feature, and who can remmber to remove them from the charger in a timely fashion every time?
I saw a MUCH newer B

Four years of good light to medium duty jobsI've owned the Multi-tool for four years, and recently had to replace one of the original batteries. A single battery will last most of the day drilling dry wall srews or wood screws. The Saw will cut 1/2 inche ply-wood and the batteries lasted about an hour each doing so. Recently we've added a room to the back of the house 19'X10' and again the driver did a fine job. Now we are gutting out a closet a bathroom and laundry area and combing them into one large bathroom and again one fully charged battery will last most of the day driving screws. I can't say much about the sander, but the noise level is not an issue. The B&D 12volt Multi-Tool is no louder than any other 12 or 14.4 cordless drill.

Not available for purchaseAfter waiting approx. 3 weeks, I was informed this item was not available. Had I received the item, I'm sure it's quality would have been excellent.
Be WarnedCustomer be warned! The leatherman pouch you will recieve is not the one pictured. I made the mistake of ordering this product before reading any reviews. When I got it in the mail I thought that Amazon got my order wrong. Then when I read the other customer reviews I understood. The pouch that you will get is a less expensive made leather one. While it still is a good quaility pouch. It is lighter color leather, thinner and the botton just says leatherman and does not have the leatherman tool logo on it. It also says Leatherman in gold lettering accross the bottom part of the pouch not Leatherman Wave on top like the one pictured.
The sheath pictured is really really no longer available...I called AllSparesTools (the listed source for these sheathes) to veryify that they had _exactly_ the sheath pictured on amazon.com. The man at AllSparesTools assured me repeatedly that they did. No such luck! The sheath I received is the same fairly disappointing model other reviewers complained about. It really is not nearly the quality of the old style (as pictured), although it does get the job done.

Like a bad blind dateMy multi-tool: Gerber Diesel
This tool-kit: junk
Remember when your friend's girlfriend set you up on a blind date with her friend from out of town? She was from the East Coast, like Jersey of something, and you thought that might make her more interesting.
You friend's girlfriend told you all about her, how she was a Psych major in college, she liked computers guys that could cook. "Wow" you thought "I actually cant wait to meet this girl, she sounds really interesting."
You build up your expectations, to the point where you really want to like this girl.
Then you see her. You realize you had been tricked. No amount of interestingness could save this night. Sure you try to go with the flow, but jebus, this will never happen again. You take her back to the hotel, tell her you had a good time, then go home as fast as possible, and never speak of it again until writing a review for a stupid product.
The Gerber Tool Kit is very much like this girl you had high hopes for, which disappointed you tremendously when you actually saw it/her.
First off, the coupler that is supposed to make the additional bits fit on the Philips screw driver, does not fit on the Diesel multi-tool whatsoever. There is no amount of Euclidian geometry that will make it fit.
The coupler expects a thin barrel shaft to fit over. The Diesel's Philips driver is a flat rectangular bar. Flat rectangle will not fit in round barrel. I can sort of fit the coupler over the can opener tool, but it's all crooked looking, and will most likely dull the sharp edge on the opener.
Secondly, the bits you get in the tool kit look pretty much exactly like the standard generic bits you can but at the impulse counter at your local auto parts store, or in the `tool' section at the grocery store. I have tons of these little bits floating around. Having more buys me nothing at all.
If you don't have a Diesel Multi-Tool, this product may be interesting to you I suppose. Don't expect something more than the most generic bits you already have 3 dozen of in your junk drawer.
Gerber should just sell the coupler on its own, and they should not say it will fit ALL of their multi-tools. The Diesel is one of their high end tools, and this tool-kit is absolutely useless for that model.
The pouch the tool-kit comes with seems to be of lower quality than the pouch that comes with the Diesel, so not only do you have a product that wont work, you have to put your fancy Diesel in a cheaper pouch.
I am glad this only cost me $11 + $9 shipping... but I still feel I got ripped off.
Btw, that girl, gave my friend herpes a few weeks later. I will not give this tool-kit the opportunity to do the same.

Works well, but how do you carry it?This is a cool idea - allowing you to extend your tool usage immensely by adding any 1/4" bit to your tool. You can use torx bits, different phillips bits, slotted bits, star, square - you name it.
The carrier is really a nicely done piece.
The only problem is that my favorite Gerber multitool is the Legend 800. THis case included will only fit the pro scout and similiar tools. So, how do I carry it with my legend 800?
Also would be nice if there was an adaptor for sockets so that you could use small 1/4" sockets too.
How did I do without this thing before?I purchased this multi tool while still working as a police officer. I can't tell you how many times it came in handy while working. Nothing earth-shattering, no great rescue stories, just something that was there every time I needed it, and did exactly what I wanted. Now that I'm retired, I still carry the tool around on my belt in the cordura case that came with the extra add-on tool kit. While I don't carry the extra tools anymore, I have found that a Swiss Army knife fits extremely well into the outer pocket of the double carry case and makes this an even more versatile tool.
Whichever way you buy it, with or without the add-on tool kit, it is worth the money and is definately something to have.

You get what you pay for. There IS a difference between this chinese made tool and the more expensive models from Leatherman, Gerber, Schrade, etc. For one thing, the small tools are much too stiff to easily open from the handle. You have to raise the non-locking knife blade to lift the small tools slightly, then you try to pry the stubby tools open. It's easy to imagine slipping off the small tool and cutting yourself on the blade. Also, most of the hinges have a definite pinch point. Mine was repackaged for the return trip after only a few minutes. Apply the money toward a better designed and built tool.
A lot for that priceI have one of these and I think it is a good tool for that price. Although it is made in China, it is not like those multitools you often see as promotional items or at discount stores. The pliers are very strong, The Phillip screwdriver is a very good one(unlike those from the other chinese multitools), The flat screwdrivers, the bottle opener, and the file are well made and strong. The only thing I do not like very much is the blade. Although it is by far better than those from other chinese multitools, it is not as good as, say, a genuine swiss army knife blade. Overall, this tool is a good value bargain at that price.
Afordable & ConvinientThe sliding up of the pliers beats them all. It doesn't hurt your hand when you squeeze. Also it's with in an affordable price for everyone! Thanks

Unhappy in INDIANA!!
14 in one pocket tool --Nifty Gadget for Good PriceI have one of the 14 in 1 pocket tool workshops and think it's a super little tool. It's small, comes in a compact leather case and fits in my purse. For the price, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. I don't know much about tools, but it has all sorts of little knives and screwdriver-ey things that come out. I really like the pliers--you never know when you will need an extra pair of strong fingers.
