Multitools Review Nice upgrade from Micra
I had a Micra on my keychain for over 4 years. It was so useful that even when I was on vacations and don't need my keys, I carried the Micra with me. Sadly, last month, I forgot to check it in with the luggages. Long story short, rather than waiting another hour to go thru security, I decided to part with my beloved Micra.

After I got back, I started to browse for a replacement, and I found out about the Squirt S4. I decided to try out the Storm color one after reading the reviews. It costed a little more than the Micra, but it has a much better design. My biggest complain about the Micra is that you have to open up the scissors to get to any of the other tools. The Squirt S4 solved this problem, and the only time I have to open it up is when I really need the scissors. The Squirt S4 is also a little shorter and has a more attractive shape and color. The Storm color does not look like the picture displayed on Amazon. It has a purple tint under the light which I think is the best of the 3 colors available. It would be nice if there is a natural stainless steel version without the color.

I am very happy with the replacement and didn't mind paying the extra money. Now if I could just remember to check it in next time I fly!

Multitools Review Nice, but the Leatherman Micra is a better value.
I have mixed feelings about this product. I gave it 5 stars because it is a top notch Leatherman product. The mixed review is whether it outpreforms the Leatherman Micra that it sort of replaces.
First, its just a tad shorter and a tad wider than the Micra. You won't notice the difference in your pocket.

Second, the reverse opening sissors is just as easy to open as the Micra. It has all the same tools, although they feel smaller they look like they handle the same set of screws. The bottle opener is a bit smaller but it still opens the lift top bottles just as well.

The tweezers do come completely out from the body of the knife which is good and bad. Good because they are easier to use, bad because they are easier to lose. On the other hand they are well integrated into the body of the knife with a small tab for removing them.

And on the Micra when I open it the tweezers always swing out whether I need them or not.

So its a toss between the two of them. So in general I'd have to go with price, and the older Micra is a few bucks cheaper.

Multitools Review Better than Leather
My first Nylon-Belt loop Sheath lasted 8 years of every day wear. Every Day when I dress, my Leatherman PST is placed on my belt. Every day for 8 years my previous sheath was up to the task. And even now it still works, but is begining to break down. My Leatherman is too valuable for me to take the chance, so I am finally going to get a new sheath after 8 years. You won't be disappointed. On leather the snaps usually tear at the leather, but on the nylon there is an industrial velcro clasp that never causes the nylon to tear or accidentally opens. Great sheath.

Multitools Review TRULLY TOUGHER THAN LEATHER
The nylon case is much better than the the leather case. Its like the case was poured onto the tool, it fits just like skin. I wish it had been an option when I bought the tool. It fits so nicely that I wont complain, and if its ever an option I will never get a leather case again with a leatherman.

Multitools Review great accessory!
Great accessory to carry your leatherman and a double "A" flashlight. This sheath is designed for the 'supertool 200' I believe, however, it will fit almost any leatherman.

Multitools Review Why
Why would a company quit making a product that could sell million of or sell to repeating customers. Seems like if a product sells good they quit making it. That's one reason I quit trading with Walmart. Please reconcered making this product available to us.

Multitools Review wife got it right!
I have owned Leathermans for years and didn't think the Wave could be improved on....I was wrong! I got what I consider to be it's big brother, the Surge,as a gift from my wife and what a nice surprise. The whole unit is larger and has a solid handfilling presence that is confidence inspiring. Althought it wieghs more than the Wave it isn't noticable when carrying on your belt. The larger knife blades, changable saw/file, and the larger siccors are the things I like best. IMHO Leatherman hit a homerun with this one. If you like a big strong well thoughtout multitool and don't mind the weight, this is the tool for you. Good job Leatherman!

Multitools Review Surge surpasses even the Wave
I was crushed to lose my Leatherman Wave...in my opinion one of the finest multitools on the planet. However, when my wife presented me with the Surge on Christmas, I was amazed (both by the tool and by the fact that she picked it!)

First the downsides...and there are only a few. The larger scissors displace the saw. However, the file now is interchangable with the included saw, so you don't really lose a tool, you simly need to swap one for the other. This is only a negative if you don't use the sheath (which holds it nicely). This will probably be a good thing for people who use the file and saw so much that they need to be replaced, whcih is easy now.

The second downside is that one of the flat screwdriver sizes got lost. There are 3 rather than 4 sizes in the Surge.

That's it...now the upsides:

1. The size: It's a monster, yet still fits nicely in a pocket or hand.
2. Pliers: Superior strength and function.
3. The screwdriver bits now are interchangable for better function.
4. The scissors are much larger and more useful.
5. The straight blade is huge!!!

All in all, if my Wave ever resurfaces, I'll be happy to give it to my son who's dying to get one. However, after using the Surge, it would be hard to downsize! Great tool!

Multitools Review One of the "Originals" still going strong!
I own the "original" Power Plier by SOG Specialty Knives; (i.e. the tool is stamped patent pending for the power plier gear), and for years it has never failed me. I am an Executive Chef and my Power Plier is used on a daily basis for cutting down boxes from stock, scraping/cleaning equipment, tightening things, you name it and it gets used for it in the restaurant! It has proven itself a worthy piece of kitchen gear right along side my Cold Steel Vaquero Grande, (which is also an original and about to be replaced by a SOG X-Ray Vision XV71 that I just purchased from Amazon). I look forward to reviewing it as well! My SOG has yet to 'wear out' as mentioned in another review. Maybe they've worn their tool's actual metal down from extreme use; because mechanically, you can't wear down a Power Plier! You can purchase replacement tools for your Power Plier from SOG directly if you need to.

Multitools Review Great tool
I gave my husband this tool I believe 2 years ago for a Christmas present and he uses it so much on a daily basis that he's worn through the carrying case and he wore out the tool. It didn't wear out because of poor quality but because he uses it for absolutely everything, work and personal projects alike. He can't live w/o it.

Multitools Review Uber-cool Golf Accessory
The translucent ruby colored casing provides an update to the classic Swiss Army red, but the old-fashioned quality remains. Bonus: It comes with it's own pouch. Even the pouch is top-quality, padded nylon with velcro closure, the Victorinox logo on the flap and a handy belt clip. Nice piece of work.

Multitools Review Great tool
Great tool, I got this for a groomsman gift and they just loved it. Very functional and cool to boot. It has a divot tool, a knife and even a cool ball marker. Anything Wenger makes is good, and this item is no exception.

Accusharp® Knife Sharpener

    Multitools Review easiest quick sharpener
Looking for a sharpener to take with you anywhere? This is it. The best procedure I have foung for using it is to take a black sharpie marker and mark the edge. This is makes it very easy to see if you have worked the whole edge. Set the knife on the edgeof a table blade up. If it is the first time a fair amount of pressure will be needed and you will see steel being removed. Scrape the edge until all the black marker is gone. If there is a small wire edge it can be removed using lighter strokes and tipping the sharpener a very little to one side then the other. After this it will be hair shaving sharp.

Multitools Review Superb Quality and so Versatile
I have had this tool for a couple of years now and am so pleased with it. The metal finish is so smooth that it is a delight to hold. Friends just can't put it down sometimes. The blades and tools included are exceptional quality, especially the scissors and knife. The accessory kit enables you to turn the screwdriver into a holder for other size screwdrivers or even sockets and Allen keys. I have added my own accessories to the kit so that I have everything to maintain my wheelchair. A superb tool and much more comfortable to hold than the Swiss tool and Leatherman that I looked at.

Multitools Review Perfect for the Gerber Evolution
Perfect companion for the Gerber Evolution. The jaws are incredibly sturdy and will stand up to much heavier use than other pairs of needle nose pliers that I own. Best of all, because of the Evolution's unique quick change heads, I'm able to leave other tools at home as the knife and up to 3 heads can fit in the Gerber pouch [that comes with the knife itself.] One very interesting feature is the wire cutters located just above the pivot. Each triangle shaped blade is attached by a small screw. This enables each to be rotated [each side is fashioned as a wire cutter] and replaced as needed.

I have no complaints regarding this particular head [but had related complaints about the knife itself] However, if you own the Evolution, there is NO REASON why you should not own this head.
