Painting Tools and Supplies Review You won't wear it out
I have quite a few of these as well as the smaller sizes. They don't wear out. They get lost or ruined from not being cleaned properly but they will last and last if you take care of them. I've used them for years and they cut in an edge just as nice as when they were brand new . My advice: Don't buy a cheap brush. Buy one of these and take care of it . It will take care of you.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Purdy Paint Brushes
Excluding a very expensive HVLP spray rig, there is no better way to apply finish to wood than a Purdy Paint Brush. I have used Purdy brushes for more than 10. They last forvever if cleaned and combed after each use. Also, blocking the damp brush in newspaper helps maintain the original shape and prevents flaring.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Best Home Improvement Brushes
Over the past 15 years we have owned 3 houses and 2 retail stores. Using Purdy Brushes, I have painted all 5, both interior and exterior surfaces. All Purdy Brushes, both Natural Bristle and Synthetics, have and continue to perform flawlesly. While they are initially a little more expensive with proper care, they will last for many years. I have some that are almost 15 years old and are still performing better than the cheap store brands

Painting Tools and Supplies Review the millwaukee 775 heat gun
Used this heat gun on 35yr. old window glaze. The heat generated by the gun made this job very easy to remove the glaze. I would recommend this product.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Great PVC heater/bender
I bought this heat gun to heat PVC in order to bend it. I was using a butane torch and this works much better. It generates more than adequate heat, but without the problems of burning the PVC. It is light and easy to handle. I also really like the stand that is attached, allowing hands free bench work. The cool down feature works well, reducing the (in my case anyway) potential burns. I would definitly recommend it, at least for bending PVC.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Why spend $1.97 on a cheap gun when . . .
you can spend a little more on one (or two) of these?

I had purchased a cheap caulking gun because it was "cheap" and I didn't think that it would make a difference. Boy was I dead wrong.

The gun did not even make it through one tube of silicone caulk before I canned it and bought one of these bad boys. Once in a while I need two kinds of caulk or one caulk/one glue. Heck I bought another just like it!

The built in sticker saves stepping on a gooey nail. And the cutter is real easy to find.

This is a real good tool.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Best remover for labels and adhesive
This is the best product I know of for removing price labels and their adhesive from most surfaces. I've used it for over 10 years. It may damage a few cheap plastics, so test first.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review A must have trim tool
I've owned one of these for about 20 years. I believe that no other trim pry bar of the same strength is thinner. Its so sharp you can use it to do things like cut the caulked/painted joint between trim and adjoining surfaces, but of course a utility knife is better for this job. With its very thin FLAT STRAIGHT blade-like shaft it can easily slide deeply under trim. The curved end is a good scraper and provides leverage when needed. Its metal seems to have the same qualities as car leaf springs....very strong, will bend without breaking, then spring back to original. I've used and abused it. Still going strong. Highly recommended. I've misplaced mine so buying another.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review An excellent larger brush.
I'm a house-painter, and this is the only brand of brush that I'll use. If taken care of properly, a Purdy brush will last a life time.

The angle on this brush lets you get into smaller nooks and crannies with ease, and makes cutting fast and effortless with excellent lines.

I'd only use the 3 inch once you get the feel for the smaller brushes.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review a Real brush
Spend a few dollars more and use a brush that will make your work easier, and give you better results. The difference between these brushes and the cheaper ones, (even the "good" cheap ones) is fantastic. These hold more paint, put it on smooth, and give you a nice finish. And if you wash then you should be able to use the brush for years.

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Useless!!
Although Shur-line products are generall pretty good, this thing does nto work at all. When you push it along the ceiling the pad slides down the holder makeing an uneven line. The only way I could get a straight line was to push with one hand and use my thumb nail of the other hand to keep the pad from slipping down the holder. Years ago Shur-line made the pads with a series of protrusions on the bottom to lock the pad to the holder. It worked perfect and you could even adjust the pad to draw a line along the wall a fraction of an inch from the ceiling giving a nice effect. God knows why they changed it !

Painting Tools and Supplies Review Better than a brush, but can use vast improvement
I agree with the other reviewer who said, "When you push it along the ceiling the pad slides down the holder makeing an uneven line. The only way I could get a straight line was to push with one hand and use my thumb nail of the other hand to keep the pad from slipping down the holder."
In addition, I will say that, if you get too much paint on the pad, it will taint the wheels, and then, you're wheeling paint onto your neat edge. Yes, this is exactly what you were trying to avoid in the first place.
That said, it's a neater job than I could do with a brush, and I still buy them, until something better comes along.
