Nice to use,easy on the hands, and more leverage because of the soft handle. Everbody knows VICE-GRIP brand is the best, and a very good price.

This set includes 8 soft grip pliers model numbers: 10R, 10WR, 9LN, 7LW, 7R, 7WR, 6LN, and 5WR. It also includes 2 locking clamps: 11R and 6R. They don't come with the soft grips. I'm guessing they're counting the plastic tray as the 11th peice of the set. In the printed catalog, this set is listed as an 8 peice set with two bonus locking clamps. Either way, it's the same 10 peice set with a plastic tray to put in the drawer of your tool box. By the way, the tray is about 17" x 26" x 1 1/2".

All of the pliers are solidly built and the soft grips make them feel nicer than the bare metal ones. They also provide a better grip. If you really want to, you can take the grips off by sliding them off. You can't go wrong with a good set of genuine Vise-Grips like this one.

These vise grip pilers are so very useful. You can use them to hold something in place or use them as a pair of pliers or even a wrench when you lock them down on a bolt. This particular pair is of good quality and low price. I would highly recommend it as a great product, not too much, not too little. In the end this is a tool everyone should have on their "short list" of things to own.

After carrying one of these with any vehicle I've ever had for the past 33 years, I finally lost `old reliable' somewhere - think it must of disappeared into a Black Hole where a lot of tools seem to wind up?! At this price, I went and purchased 3 more of these and distributed them throughout the house (plus one in the Harley's saddlebag) - this so (hopefully?) I'll be able to find at least one when I need it!? This tool has saved my bacon more then once over the years. Last time was out in the Mojave Desert (which has more then once jumped up and bit me!) when my Harley decided to loose it's shift lever (not uncommon) within a 100 plus mile stretch. What to do? Clamp on the ol' Vise Grips onto the shifter shaft and start looking for a replacement. Did it slightly damage the spines on the shaft? Of course. But choosing that as opposed to becoming Buzzard fodder was an easy choice!

This tool remains one of the few good deals remaining out there: American-made, high-quality and very nicely priced. My only gripe about it? They have so many styles now of this Vice-Grip available it was extraordinarily difficult just finding the basic general-purpose model! Also be forewarned: there are many imitators on the market of this tool - they are absolute garbage! As you will find out when you're broken down in the middle of bum friggin' Egypt and they just won't do the job! If it doesn't say `Vice-Grip', pass it by! :)

This size vise grip is very useful as a small pipe wrench when working with <3/4" threaded pipe. I have also used mine to turn rounded nuts that a regular wrench can no longer grip. I have used it as a welding clamp, a pipe vise (clamped in my workmate), a nail puller and a substitute faucet handle.

This is a durable and versatile tool that you will constantly find new uses for. It does require a second hand to activate the release if you have it screwed down really tight.

Man cannot survive without an assortment of Vise Grips!

These are very nice Vise-Grips. The qualitiy is superior to the ones I have had in my toolbox for ages. It appears these have only gotten better with age. Everything was tight, no rattles or wiggles, still easy to disengage when locked though.

My only complaint is that these are too small. It is my fault not theirs, I ordered the 6" set and that's what I got. Unless you specifically need this size, I would recomend this in either the 7" or 8" version, they will be much more useful.

These work great for any needle nose application, but the tip is a little bulkier than a non-locking plier. The locking mechanism is easy to operate; just grip the object with the plier and tighten of loosen the screw until the lock closes. Remove the plier and tighten the screw another turn. Now, when you regrip the object and close the jaws, it will "snap" down and lock.

If you are gripping a bolt end-on, rather than sideways, the jaws will flex slightly when you twist the bolt. The release lever lets the object loose with a pinch on one handle.

Every tool box needs an assortment of vise grips for survival. Add these to your collection, you never know when only a vise grip will do.

This is the best tool for tempory clamping of items to be welded drilled,or bonded up to 5" across clamped area.

...I would like to find spring kits for my six pair I use all the time at my work I have not been able to find a dealer in Phoenix who carries the springs. Any help welcome.

This new tool is extemely useful for handling bolts and nuts of different sizes, including stubborn nuts with deformed heads. Very high quality, as usual with VISE-GRIP products. If you w'ont lose it-you can use it for life! highly recomanded.

I have and used many multi-tools and never thought I would call these 4 inch vise grips one. If you use tools they are perfect to have in your pocket while doing work or out on a job. They're great for: pulling out nails and staples, using on any size nut or bolt (they even grip well on rusted or rounded out ones), holding or starting screws in hard to reach areas and the list goes on. Out of all the tools I have and use I reach for these the most. Probably becuase it helps that they're so small and light I always have them in my pocket. I'm writing this review because I'm just purchasing another one at Amazon to have as a back up. You can't get this small size easily, not even at Home Depot.
