So good I had to buy another

Good, solid set of pliers.

- Precision machined teeth and cutting edges
- Ergonomically designed grips for comfort and performance
- Spring loaded jaws for easy use

Chainmailler's DreamDespite the obvious gimmick of the "dual-action quick-change" from one set of pliers to another, the plier's most salient feature is its comfort! This is, by far, the most comfortable set of pliers you will ever use. The shape of the handles allows me to use them for hours on end without suffering the same palm fatigue I experience with other pliers. The easy spring tension gently opens the pliers after each crimp, eliminating the need to manually open the jaw, and because the spring is soft, it doesn't increase the force needed to crimp the material noticably. This is a huge time-saving feature.
I should state clearly that this is a two-plier set, and I was interested in purchasing only the smaller, found elsewhere as "the mini." I purchased the set because the mini, while sold seperately elsewhere, is the same price as the set. I have not found an application for the large plier.

Like a bad blind dateThis tool-kit: junk
Remember when your friend's girlfriend set you up on a blind date with her friend from out of town? She was from the East Coast, like Jersey of something, and you thought that might make her more interesting.
You friend's girlfriend told you all about her, how she was a Psych major in college, she liked computers guys that could cook. "Wow" you thought "I actually cant wait to meet this girl, she sounds really interesting."
You build up your expectations, to the point where you really want to like this girl.
Then you see her. You realize you had been tricked. No amount of interestingness could save this night. Sure you try to go with the flow, but jebus, this will never happen again. You take her back to the hotel, tell her you had a good time, then go home as fast as possible, and never speak of it again until writing a review for a stupid product.
The Gerber Tool Kit is very much like this girl you had high hopes for, which disappointed you tremendously when you actually saw it/her.
First off, the coupler that is supposed to make the additional bits fit on the Philips screw driver, does not fit on the Diesel multi-tool whatsoever. There is no amount of Euclidian geometry that will make it fit.
The coupler expects a thin barrel shaft to fit over. The Diesel's Philips driver is a flat rectangular bar. Flat rectangle will not fit in round barrel. I can sort of fit the coupler over the can opener tool, but it's all crooked looking, and will most likely dull the sharp edge on the opener.
Secondly, the bits you get in the tool kit look pretty much exactly like the standard generic bits you can but at the impulse counter at your local auto parts store, or in the `tool' section at the grocery store. I have tons of these little bits floating around. Having more buys me nothing at all.
If you don't have a Diesel Multi-Tool, this product may be interesting to you I suppose. Don't expect something more than the most generic bits you already have 3 dozen of in your junk drawer.
Gerber should just sell the coupler on its own, and they should not say it will fit ALL of their multi-tools. The Diesel is one of their high end tools, and this tool-kit is absolutely useless for that model.
The pouch the tool-kit comes with seems to be of lower quality than the pouch that comes with the Diesel, so not only do you have a product that wont work, you have to put your fancy Diesel in a cheaper pouch.
I am glad this only cost me $11 + $9 shipping... but I still feel I got ripped off.
Btw, that girl, gave my friend herpes a few weeks later. I will not give this tool-kit the opportunity to do the same.
Works well, but how do you carry it?The carrier is really a nicely done piece.
The only problem is that my favorite Gerber multitool is the Legend 800. THis case included will only fit the pro scout and similiar tools. So, how do I carry it with my legend 800?
Also would be nice if there was an adaptor for sockets so that you could use small 1/4" sockets too.
How did I do without this thing before?Whichever way you buy it, with or without the add-on tool kit, it is worth the money and is definately something to have.

Dissapointing
I'm happy, its a good fanThe fan is powerful and very cooling and I like it a lot. On high, I can feel the effects of it in my bedroom when its on in the living room (I live in an apartment). Its not loud. I slept with it on low last night without a problem.
The only not-so-good trait is that the fan cover is not built to actaully snap securely into the fan base so it sort of just balances there. I suspect when I move it from room to room it may sometimes fall off and have to be re-balanced. Except for that, the fan is very sturdy and secure. I could see banging into it without knocking it over and no injury to the fan even if it was dropped or something (except the fan cover would fall off).
Powerful, not too noisy, and looks great.Assembly was very easy, about 5 minutes. I had no problem attaching the front and back screens and locking them into place with the two attached plastic clips. It's been carried up and down stairs and run into by a dog, and its still solidly attached! I don't understand the problems noted by other reviewers; the only thing I can think of is that perhaps in shipping there was some damage or stacking on the carton, (amazon ships in mfrs. display box, not packed in a corrugated shipping box) and that the screens were no longer perfectly matching circles and thus would not lock into place.
Bottom line, there is nothing out there that works as well and looks this good for even twice the price. I'm going to buy another before they're gone.

Overpriced ?
Fabulous gift!I will make the suggestion that this is a great gift for commuting working women (wives, sisters, mothers best friends...) Also would make a great gift for a teenager buying their first car. It says "I respect your independence, and want you have the tools to deal with contingencies on the road... I care about your safety." I mention this because it came up as a gift recommendation for 'men that have everything' and this it is appropriate for a much wider profile of people. Frankly, I might consider this as an off-beat baby shower gift, even, if the soon-to-be-mom spends a lot of time on the road.
It is expensive, but for the quality and compactness, it is worth it! Chip in together, if the price tag is prohibitive - you will not regret it and the recipient will really appreciate the thought.
