Screwdrivers Review Hard to beat at this price range
Pros: Solid build quality (in the usual B&D hard-wearing orange and black plastics). Very torquey at it's low speed setting--one of the more powerful (at ~80 in/lb) 6V drivers out there (that competes well with other higher-voltage models). The high-speed drill mode (600 rpm) won't win any drilling contests (??? :) ), but it's good enough for most light drilling chores (as long as they don't involve drilling in metal). The integrated tape measure (removable) and switchable LED illuminator are thoughtful touches.

Cons: There are a few. As mentionned many times already, the grip offered by the two bit holders is rather iffy, though if you press down on the bits hard enough they SHOULD remain in place. The quick-release chuck won't "grab" double-ended bits. For drilling chores, it can only accept hex-shank drill bits, which are somewhat hard to find in stores. The speed selector doesn't always switch over smoothly (a blip from the main trigger switch is usually enough to "unstick" it). The driver's angle setting locks in at odd places; the detents should've been at 45° and 90°. There's no status LED to tell you that the unit is charging. The charging jack is located in a very odd place (right at the hinge, where it's inaccessible unless the tool's angle is flat). Battery is non-replacable. There's no carrying case, and only one drill bit is included (but then, it's hard to justify such nit-pickings at this price).

Summary: Despite its flaws, this cordless driver offers the most bang for the buck. Definitely recommended... Just be mindful of its limitations (vs. the low price point).

Screwdrivers Review A great purchase
I'm not a screwdriver expert of any kind so I'm not sure how helpful this review will be but my hope is that my enthusiasm for the product will be enough to convey how highly I think of it.

I'm not one to use a screw driver much a nd am usually fine with the $.99 manual screw driver. But occasionally, I'd be assembling a product of some kind and run into a machine tightened screw that I had to kill myself to get out. So, I purchased this product and I could not be happier.

For the price, I would have been happy with just a screw driver, but the included flash light (a weak flash light but good for what it is), tape measure and drilling capability made it a great value. The adjustable pivoting handle seemed odd when I purchased it but feels very natural when you actually use it and has helped me in a few tight places.

I'm sure there are people who do professional work (like building cabinets and such) that this is not suitable for but for someone who just wants a good home screwdriver with a little power, you can't beat this.

Screwdrivers Review Delta dp 200 10" bench top drill press
I purchased this tool for 1 specific job and it was perfect. I completed the task in 1 day. The assembly was easy and the instructions were perfectly clear

Screwdrivers Review Awesome Tool
This drill press is great. It goes together easy, has lots of power, and is heavy and strong. (Note to the Reviewer: Phil "alienspine", this drill press is not ment for saw bits or bits larger than two inches in diameter.) This tool has plenty of power when used properly. Also, I reccommend not using spade bits with this tool-they tend to wobble. Great tool for the money.

Screwdrivers Review Honest Tool - Honest Price
This is an excellent tool for the home shop. It is simple, well made and has the features that are important in a basic drill press - smooth spindle rotation and a solid frame. The gear driven table height adjustment and flexible lamp make this drill a pleasure to use. The owners manual is clear and very well illustrated. Assembly is simple and takes less than an hour. I used acetone instead of oven cleaner to clean the spindle before mounting the chuck. This was a very satisfying purchase.

Screwdrivers Review Porter-Cable FN250B 16-Gauge, 2-1/2" Finish Nailer Kit
Excellent professional nailer. I didn't give 5 stars because I think the tool could be made a little lighter.

Screwdrivers Review Shoot 'em' up!
After 6 years of using the FN250A nail guns we decided it was time to upgrade to the new FN250B.

First a word about the 250A model. Not one nail jam-up in any of the the 8 guns we have used in over 6 years. We have shot well over 2,0000,000 nails thru these guns. I checked our records for nail purchases and this is close to 100% accurate!

We bought 8 of the 250B guns 3 months ago. Again porter cable produced a very affordable and well made gun! Much better balance, smoother trigger action! and easy reloads! This gun seems a bit lighter as well. For full finish work you must fill the nail head holes. 16ga holes are a bit big, unlike a pin nailer 23ga hole.

If they hold up as well as our 250A guns have I'll let you know in 6 more years! :)

We also gave the 250A guns away to each of our employees that use them for free.

1 word of caution! Never use a nail gun with out the proper eye protection. Heavy gloves are also a good idea!

Screwdrivers Review Very good.gun!
I bought the FN250B by PC to do some remodeling (inside) and its has done an excellent job. No problems whatsoever. I can also use it for making bookcases, etc. (the hole is large and HAS to be filled with putty). I used it for installing crown molding and baseboards w/ shoemolding and have had no problems. It takes enough different length nails to do anything I need to do. In tight spaces it would be better to have an angled gun, but this gun has done a great job for me. I would not hesitate to buy another Porter Cable nail gun.

Screwdrivers Review CS4 tools needs improvement
We bought two of this because it looks so great in the review and advertisement. After using it for a month, there are some flaws, which should be improved to make it a practical tool. Does anyone know what's the awl for? To us, it is too blunt to be useful. It should have sharper edge so we can actually open envelopes, remove staples, etc. The set of screw drives is comprehensive but take care not to exert too much force on them especially the small one, the tip WILL BEND. Anyway, it was be repaired with the other CS4 :-). If you are a Swiss knife user, you will find the Philips screw tip drive too big for common screws found in the office. Also, you should be real careful about the blade, cause it is really sharp... it hurts but we love it. If you are not too fussy about the strength of the tool, go get it.

Screwdrivers Review Always in My Pocket
I have about a dozen different kinds of mult-tools. This one is
probably the most practical. It's design is slick with its rounded corners, making it comfortable to keep in your pocket - no sheath needed. It has everything you would need for any incident. Its anodized blue color only ups the cool factor for this handy gadget. Everyone should keep one of these in their pocket. It's always in mine.

Screwdrivers Review Leatherman Customer Service, Take 2
Clearly, I owe the fine folks at Leatherman an apology. I had dissed Leatherman's customer service in a prior review (scroll down..), whining about a minor, self-induced problem. Come to find out, they (including the Main Man, The Head Honcho, The Connection - Tim Leatherman)had made several attemts to contact me in effort to address my complaint (whine), but all their attempts were deflected courtesy of my email blocker settings. Through their continued efforts they were able to contact me through other means. Sooo, here I stand, embarrassed for badmouthing such a fine company and terriffic product. Sorry.

The CS-4 and I remain inseparable - it's an integral part of my everyday life. In fact, I have gone on to purchase half a dozen or more as gifts for friends (including a Wave for myself), only I had them properly engraved/etched this time as recommended by the manufacturer.

Christmas is coming...

Screwdrivers Review Quality but Slow
It was not what I was expecting... slow, and not the easiest to hold, and if oyu hold the way you think you need to hold it the swicth is backwards.

Screwdrivers Review very slow, but convenient
it's a realy slow driver, but it has applications for those really tight areas. it does exactly what i expected it to do and meets my requirements. it's a little expensive but when you need it, it works. torque is good and it is strong, just soooo slow

Screwdrivers Review A Great Tool
I almost did not buy this after the DRIVING in EUROPE review, what a mistake that would have been. The tabs on the battery are recessed in a concave and are pretty well protected from damage and the plastic is industrial grade. It would require some extraordinary bad luck to break them and they hold very securely.

The driver has great power and is very smooth operating, the precision concentricity, is noticeable. I have owned other cordless screwdrivers and this is the best of them so far, second was my Blue Point. This little powerhouse can drive a 3" screw into pine. I could never have gotten close with my others. As for the fellow who was going to buy the DeWalt, I looked at it and even though I love DeWalt, the screwdriver is too big and clumsy for what I use a screwdriver for. The things the DeWalt would be used for are better handled by my Drill Driver.

Is this perfect, no. I have big hands and the Metabo is big. Making the switch vertical might be better, would not know until I tried it. If you feel it is too big for your hand you can always choke up on it a little and operate the switch with your middle finger. As for the plug in charger it is good quality, but I would prefer a drop in. By the way this is available from Metabo, in the form of an adapter and one of their full size chargers, which will charge faster and give the battery longer service life.

I like this tool, and like any tool, the user adapts to it the longer it is used. The clutch tames the power for lighter work, and the power is there if you need it. The build quality keeps the bit turning in a circle instead of a loose wobbling movement. This makes it easier to use, as the screw does not wobble either. The speed of this driver is fine for me, only the DeWalt and the Panasonic offer varying speeds anyway and the Panasonic is a two speed. I intend to be happy with this tool for some time to come, but everyone looks for different things in their tools. If you are interested in this driver give it a try, you wont be sorry.

Screwdrivers Review Yuppie Leatherman
The bottle opener is good enough that I use it instead of a standalone one. Plus it has all the standard Leatherman tools. That's why I bought it and it delivers.

Only negative is that it needs a proper foil cutter, or at least an additional small knife blade. You have to use the main blade, which doesn't work particularly well since it is too long, and gives it unneeded abuse.

Screwdrivers Review I love this thing!
Like most people, I think I have great need for a leatherman/swiss army knife type contraption but in reality have very little use for them. However, this one is great. The "picnic" uses make it better for me: cork screww, cheese knife, cutting knife. I've used it often on simple urban picnics. I've also taken it camping and it fit every need in my week in the woods.

Screwdrivers Review Swiss Army Knife with Balls
This thing is absolutely great. It has all the most commonly used appliances as well as a can and bottle opener and even a cork screw... Work hard, Play hard...this is the one. Its also built with typical Leatherman quality which has always been exceptional. I install Satellite TV for a living and I honestly pulled this thing out a dozen times the very first day I had it. I swear by it...P.S. I bought it at the largest knife shop in the world and its still about 20% cheaper on Amazon...My mistake.

Screwdrivers Review Bosch Safety Recall and Inferior Synthetic Base Plate
Never really got to use the saw because of the safety recall and the possibility of an "amputation" if I chose to ignore the recall. While this was a minor problem the problem with the plastic base plate would have been a lifetime pain! The base plate lacks dimensional stability in that it will not accept the rip fence insertion without a significant use of force and again more force or a rubber mallet is called for if you need to move it to your desired rip dimension. Additionally the set screw for the rip fence comes with a spring that is to long thus requiring more force during all my aborted attempts to screw it into the base plate! I further found it physically impossible to screw the set screw into the base plate without the spring in place! I own a lot of Bosch tools and have never experienced these kinds of problems with Bosch or any other brand. I returned the saw to the vendor I purchased it from citing poor tool quality as the reason.

Screwdrivers Review Another fine Bosch...
I recently purchased a house, and not being a person who has the money to hire someone else to do it for me, I've become my own handyman. Not to mention I was interested in building stuff for my house and garage, as well.

I've never owned a circular saw before. I had never even used one. I went into this completely new to it. I did extensive research prior to purchasing.

My research quickly narrowed it down to three saws - the Bosch CS20, the Milwaukee 6394-21, and Porter-Cable 325MAG. From everything I've read, these are all excellent choices and each have their benefits. The Porter-Cable had the quik-blade change system (no tools required) and adjustable dust port. The Milwaukee had the Quik-lok cord and tilt-lok handle. The Bosch has the quick-disconnect cord and rafter hook (so you can hang your saw from a rafter or something while working). To me, the best way to decide from here was to go to a store and handle all the saws.

After handling the saws, I found that I liked the Bosch best overall and here's why: it wasn't too heavy and felt well balanced. The depth and angle adjustments were EXTREMELY easy to use. I could change them with one hand. On the Porter-Cable, I had to sit it down or support it against my body to change them. Not very ergonomic if you ask me. And finally, the Milwaukee wouldn't even adjust; the handle was so tight, neither me or my friend could loosen it. I also felt that the Bosch had the best line of sight out of all of them. Also, there were detents on the angle adjustment AND the Bosch goes to 56 degrees. And finally, the features - I've read that the tilt-lok on the Milwaukee isn't that great. A friend of mine that owns this model agreed; he set it once and rarely messes with it. The Porter-Cable's features weren't all that important to me. The tool-less blade change would be great but didn't make up for the angle and depth adjustment controls. With the Bosch, the rafter-hook wasn't that big of a deal to me but the quick disconnect was. If I accidentally cut through my cord on the Bosch, all I have to do is go to Wal-Mart and pick up another extension cord and I'm back in business. The Milwaukee has a detachable cord but it's only sold by them meaning you'd still have to order it from them and probably pay an arm and a leg.

So I settled upon the Bosch and ordered it when I got back my tax return. I haven't used it very much yet but so far, it has been an excellent saw. It's without mention that it goes through 2x4s like a hot knife through butter. But I was also impressed with the way it handled 2x6s. The line of sight was also excellent. The saw is easy to handle and doesn't sound to be all that loud. The blade guard is smooth and easy to operate by hand. The trigger also has a nice tactile feedback. The saw as a whole is very easy to control.

To me, this saw is a 5-star in every way. I wish it had a quick blade change feature like the Porter-Cable but it's a minor complaint. Also, the saw, in my opinion, looks as good as it works.

I've always been drawn to Bosch products and this reminds me why - this saw is high quality for the price, looks good and works great. Everything I love about Bosch. And it's made in the good old U.S.A. Can't beat that.

To me, this is the best saw in this price range. Before anyone buys it, though, I recommend you go to your local home improvement store and handle the various circular saws and see which works best for you.

Screwdrivers Review Top notch sidewinder...
I have used many sidewinder style circular saws over the years, and of them all, this one is the best...

This is a very well balanced saw, and has a very comfortable grip.

It's power is easily as rated, if not better, which is an excewption to the rule as most circular saws seem to be a low less powerful than the manufacturer claims.

Bosch's innovative Direct Connect feature is so smart, it's one of those things that makes you ask "Why didn't someone think of this before?"

I was a little hesitant about the composite foot plate at first, but having broken a mag plate on a saw dropped from only a hight of about 5 feet, I know that while they are more rigid, the additional resistance to breaking that the composite brings is a worthwhile trade-off.

One reviewer said he would have preferred a hard case over the soft case, but in my experience most hard cases are not worth the extra size. I myself tend to buy soft cases for tools that came in ahard case, as they take up less space and are just easier to deal with.

I also found the built-on hanger hook to be especially handy, alowing me to hang the saw from a 2x.

Only flaw I can find is the lack of a built-in holder for the included blade wrench, which would be a very smart addition for a future revision of the product.

Screwdrivers Review Battery Blues
I bought my 2207 in Feb of 98. I've been very pleased with it especially when I need to deal with the 40+ screws holding the fairing parts onto my sport-tourer motorcycle. In anticipation of some work last weekend, I plugged in the wall charger and slipped in the battery on Friday afternoon. Saturday morning, I notice the red led was out. Closer examination revealed a deformed charger case: a part inside had burned out an melted the plastic. This also "took out" the battery (or vice versa)as it's at zero volts and my Maha C777+ smart charger won't initialize for it. Anyhow, it seems the 92943 wall charger is sold only with the 2207. I can get a 92942 dual charger ... and a new battery ... here at Amazon. .... So, it's a new screwdriver I need after all. And that's why I have the battery blues.

Screwdrivers Review complaint
The screwdriver is good but the battery charger, that is sold with the driver, is no good. I had one for 1year. it failed , returned for a new ( which was to charge two batteries)double. they would not give me a new one.So I bought a single battery charger, it lasted two months took it back and Kmart did not have on. So I purchased the new driver complete. I placed the new battery in charger and the next day the charger had stoped working. A blister appeared on the side. I am sure others have had the same trouble that is why K mart no longer carries the skil. Why can't they design another charger. When the single charger is pluged in it makes the battery lay horozontal with ground. Bad design

Screwdrivers Review You won't be sorry
I have owned two of these that I have had for over 3 years each and they are both working strong....always handy in the junk drawer and ready for action with lots of torque...if there was a better one, I would have bought it

Screwdrivers Review Short Life Span
I thought I was upgrading from the Milwaukee 2.5 volt power screwdriver. This one has the noisy clutch, but I have never had any trouble with this style.
The auto shut off of the Panasonic is a electric switch that turns the tool off. Mine lasted about 4 months, returned for service, lasted another 2 weeks. The clutch was stoping power to the motor.. I like the extra power, but will stick to the Milwaukee for reliability.

Screwdrivers Review Panasoic gone bad
This electric screwdriver is worth about 9.99 and is overpriced.

Screwdrivers Review Great Product
This is a must for anyone who turns screws. Fast and light weight.
Don't expect to use this tool to screw together a deck, but it is great for electrical trim work.

Screwdrivers Review Handy little workhorse
I've had this particular model for the past 9 years and it works great. Someone else said that the tools don't lock, but mine do and they always have. All of the tools are still in great working condition, nothing is broken, and I use it pretty heavily as a stage technician. I truly consider myself a Leatherman girl (over Gerber anyday), and this tool is great for someone like myself who has smaller hands, but needs a good amount of tools to get the job done. I recently upgraded to the Blast only because I need some more tools in my Leatherman after all these years.

Screwdrivers Review coming apart
