I have been working with stainless steel wire (14 ga.) for the purpose of chainmail manufacture for a number of years, and have been through multiple pairs of pliers. While the pliers in this review are not jeweler's pliers (jewler's pliers don't have "teeth"), they are excellent for gripping and twisting material that is ordinarily quite difficult to manipulate with pliers.
Despite the obvious gimmick of the "dual-action quick-change" from one set of pliers to another, the plier's most salient feature is its comfort! This is, by far, the most comfortable set of pliers you will ever use. The shape of the handles allows me to use them for hours on end without suffering the same palm fatigue I experience with other pliers. The easy spring tension gently opens the pliers after each crimp, eliminating the need to manually open the jaw, and because the spring is soft, it doesn't increase the force needed to crimp the material noticably. This is a huge time-saving feature.
I should state clearly that this is a two-plier set, and I was interested in purchasing only the smaller, found elsewhere as "the mini." I purchased the set because the mini, while sold seperately elsewhere, is the same price as the set. I have not found an application for the large plier.

After much web searching, this drill set offers very high quality for the price.

I use them for maintenance work on commercial kitchen equipment (mostly stainless steel). These drills outperform any that I have used previously.

My only gripe is with the very flimsy pivots in the drill index. The three drill holders in the index, pivot on pierced upsets, rather than rivets and tend to pop out of place.

Aside from that minor issue, I would recommend them highly to anyone looking for an economical set of drill bits for hard to drill metals.

If you are new to veneering, don't think you can make due with a utility knife--even with a new blade. Don't try the pizza cutter, either. Buy a rotary cutter, or you're a polka-dot pig! Not much money, and you will save lots of agravation and many sheets of splintered veneer.

The welding gloves are large, comfortable, and sturdy. They cover about 5" up my arm from my wrist.

The work gloves are run-of-the-mill. They are very large. The seams are very prominent on the interior and somewhat uncomfortable.

the only reason i could find to have these is to get those pesky back screws out of your computers hard drive casing. But atleast they get the job done.

Positives:

-- Includes 8 bushings and two locknuts (for use on two routers concurrently) -- most template sets include [only] 7 bushings.

-- Bushings and locknuts are all brass, so they are impervious to water/moisture -- should last a lifetime.

-- If a rotating router bit (e.g., tapered dovetail bit), touches a bushing made of steel, sparks will fly, and the router bit will likely be ruined. With a brass bushing, the bit will likely survive intact. E.g., once, near the end of a day of routing doors for hinges, my template's locking ring came loose, allowing the guide to touch the spinning bit and the locking ring to rub against the router-bit lock nut. Since the guide and ring were brass, no noticeable damage to the bit or router occurred.

-- Molded plastic case offers excellent protection against damage. There's no extra storage area, but none should be needed.

-- Each bushing is machined from one piece of brass -- fine tool markings from a metal lathe are visible.

-- This set costs less than Porter Cable's or Milwaukee's steel bushings.

-- Because these bushings protrude beyond the router base by only 1/4" or so, they work fine on Leigh dovetail jigs. They should also work on any router jig for the same reason.

Negatives:

-- The bushings would look better if they were polished; in fact, I polished one just to see (click See Customer Images, above). On the other hand, if polished, they will probably tarnish.

X-Acto X5177 Basic Woodcarving Set is very well made. The handle is solid and strong and there are more than enough blades for most needs. My only complaint is that the storage box could have been designed a bit better. The blades tend to fall out of their storage slots in the base and some simply lay alongside the handle. Otherwise, the tool itself is a good value.

I ordered the Delta 14-651 during the special promotion. Even though the shipping box was okay, the head was cracked. The head does not attract a magnet, so it is not iron. It looks and feels to be cast aluminum, maybe magnesium. Amazon told me to send it back for a refund, they are all out. Not sure if I will return it or take it to a Delta repair center. To bad. Besides the head, the rest of the machine looks to be cast iron. After all this time, I am suprised Delta has never fixed the problem.

Cons: I don't understand why Delta put plastic/rubber fence lockdown knobs on such a well built machine. I broke one on the first day and the other is soon to follow. I'll have to engineer a better quality knob since Delta doesn't know how to. Other than that, and the other minor issues discussed in other reviews, I am pleased with the performance and body construction. I'd buy it again if the price needs was under $200.00 due to the average quality bits.

I ordered this "tool" so that I could have it with me in the car for emergencies and unexpected fix its. When I received it, I was immediately disappointed. The wood and metal did not fit together at the seams, the metal was obviously poor in quality. It looked like it was left out in the rain for a few weeks. Maybe I just got the worst one, but it looked like it was just poorly made with poor quality materials. Don't waste your time or money on this item.

I ordered these tools a few weeks ago without reading the reviews very carefully. I intended to give them as a gift. Bad idea. As others have described, each of the tools in the set is either scratched, greasy or just worn down. Quality seems decent, not great - about what i expected for the low price. (The unlocking mechanism of the knife is rather clumsy.)

I am disappointed enough that i will return these - tool that look secondhand are not a good gift.

I actually got these free for ordering some other items. Though I haven't used them much, they seem pretty good quality. I was very impressed to open and close them, the weight and feel of these were very good. I don't think I would pay $28 for them, but if you can get these as a free gift, they're awesome! Especially the knife, very good quality.
