Tool Sets Review The best so far
Recently, I had to tackle a job that required a 5mm key. Because only the ball-ended section properly grips the inside without slipping, that is the end I used. Of 6 bolts, I was able to loosen 2, applying leverage using their speed handle. The ball broke off on the 3rd bolt.

Though disappointed, this was nothing compared to my experience with Bondhus Gorilla-Proof, also made in the US, the ball broke off immediately AND the tool got bent using their holder as the recommended leverage arm.

Tool Sets Review No tool box is complete without a set of Allen Hex Keys
No matter how many mechanics and homeowners tools you may have racked up, unless you have a simple set of both standard and metric allen hex keys your tool kit is not yet complete. I suggest buying this set because it includes both standard and metric sized sets. With the ever expanding use of metric parts on our cars and trucks, and anything else for that matter, you will want to be sure you have both set sizes handy. Allen is the origional manufacturer of the hex key, the keys they make are not low carbon so they dont twist off at the slightest bit of added pressure unlike some hex keys you may have used. Another nice feature is the fact that they include those nice little plastic carry totes with them that hold your keys tight in place so you dont loose them. Like I said no tool box is complete without a nice set of hex keys, may as well pick them up here, its a good set.

Tool Sets Review Finally the right combination of bits!
I have owned a DeWalt cordless drill/driver for almost 10 years now and this is probably the third (and best) set of drivers and bits that I have used during that time. First of all I would like to applaud DeWalt for obviously listening to all of us and redesigning the plastic case this kit is in. The previous design had a very weak hinge that split too easily. This kit has a much more stout case, a strong hinge, and a better designed closure that feels like it will stand up for a while.

As for the driver bits, they are all made of the superior steel you would expect for this price. What I am most pleased with in this kit is the assortment of bits that is included. In the past half of the bits included seemed to be odd sizes or shapes that I rarely if ever used. With this set I finally have just the tools I need right where I need them. I especially love having the magnetic 'one-handed' screw guide included here.

Even though the price is a bit steep, go ahead and treat yourself to these - you won't regret it later.

Tool Sets Review I real life, limb, and back saver.
The magnetic drill bit case with seath really let the one-hand drill procedure occur when repairing, securing or fastening. Ceilings, under desks, inside cabinets, and even computers ..I have not been able to work/live without mine. I am not sure what I would do with out this set. Yes I do I would not do much handy work or repairs.

Tool Sets Review A work of art
I got this hammer for Father's Day 2003, after the handle broke on my old no-name import $ finish hammer. After swinging a 28 oz. steel shaft framing hammer (Estwing) for 16 years, it was time to give the arm a break and switch over to finish work. I looked for a titanium finish hammer but could not find one. I heard that Stiletto was about to release one, but I just don't like their hatchet-style handle. I had seen and admired the Hart "Woody" several years ago, which I believe is the predecessor to this Douglas. After some research I found the Douglas and bought one. After several months of use I must say I really like this hammer. But the best thing about it is the envious looks I get from everyone who sees it. I haven't noticed the loud ring someone else complained about. At least it didn't ring anywhere as loud as the Estwings do. The only thing that I have a problem with is glancing off the heads of galvanized finish nails because of the smooth face. It's probably just my bad technique from too many years of serrated face hammers. If I did it again, I'd probably get the Douglas with the cool inverted dimpled face instead. It probably won't mar up the finish work as much as a normal milled face hammer. Bottom line - buy a Douglas hammer! It's like driving a Mercedes to the jobsite instead of that old pickup! All the other contractors, and even the homeowners stop to admire it.

Tool Sets Review Hard driving - hard on hearing.
I bought one of these primarily because of the unique design... that and the fact that I had bent the neck on my Estwing framing hammer. I found it while visiting a friend in California and packed it back to Michigan.

I expected the Douglas to be well balanced and hard hitting and it most definitely is! I especially like the side-positioned nail puller and the strong junction between the head and handle. The side puller proved extemely handy when working with galvanized framing connectors while the head-to-handle joint inspired the confidence to take full swings knowing that an overstrike wouldn't require a new handle.

Indeed, the only complaint I HAD about his hammer is that it WAS very loud. Every blow would make the head ring - a high, shrill ring that soon gave me a headache. Rather than resort to earplugs, I partially filled the hollowed-out areas behind the face with silicone sealant. The din is reduced sufficiently so that I only need to wear the earplugs for the (electric) power tools.

The router bit set was just what I needed to use with my Dremel.

Tool Sets Review Router 6 Pc. Set
I use these router bits and the two styles of routers for building minuature wild west buildings and doll house furniture
With these bits I can make very percise cuts and with the finished product I've sold them for as much as 250-300 dollars each. My only regret is that dremel would make some other types of router bits just like the big boys.

Tool Sets Review Classic
I bought this because Fiskers are quality products and you get so much with this. I needed the pruners especially because we just bought a house. Take care and buy it!

Tool Sets Review Fiskars quality in a unique gift set . . .
I've had this set for several months, and I've been using it far more than I expected. First, the folding scissors are great for my needlework projects. Small and compact, I have them on a ribbon (there's an "eye" on one of the handles that works well for this), and keep them handy in my project tote. These aren't your typical cheesy folding scissors -- they're much higher quality, sharp, and easily to control.

The angled scissors are in my kitchen "tool" drawer, and work well for all of the typical kitchen tasks.

The pruners get the most use. I do my own flower arrangements when I can, and these work *beautifully* for preparing the blooms. They cut cleanly through the woodier stems, strip thorns from roses, and crush the stem ends to facilitate water absorption. A quick rinse, and they're ready to go.

Finally, I used the tin to house three 4" pots of herbs on my south-facing kitchen window sill. It has a traditional yet stylish look, and it's easy to snip off a few sprigs of thyme or marjoram while I'm cooking.

This is a great value -- and a wonderful housewarming gift!

Tool Sets Review Simple And Easy To Use
I tried unsuccessfully for years to cut the perfect box joint with a dado cutter. I could never get the bottoms of the groves flat, without filing and messing with it after they were cut. The instructions for the jig was easy to understand and build. After cutting the box joints with the Freud cutter, I didn't have to fiddle with them any more. This is money well spent for a cutter that is simple and easy to use, and gets excellent results every time.

Tool Sets Review Fast & accurate -- what more do you want??
I bought the SBOX8 box joint cutter to make 20 decorative boxes for our woodclub's Toys for Kids Christmas project - The older kids need something nice too. This mini-dado is not cheap but does a first-class job of cutting accurate box joints. Once you make up the spacing jig to attach to your miter, you can crank out box sides very quickly. I was using some 1/4 veneered plywood and had very, very minor chipout. Much less than the 1/4 brand-new spiral cut router bit I first tried to use to cut the joints. I always say to buy the best tool you can afford, it's usually money well spent and the SBOX8 is worth every penny.

Tool Sets Review 20.00 box

Tool Sets Review carving set
the set is well made. it is made in china. the set has to be honed, but it takes a good edge. it is a basic set and each piece has heft, so you feel like you have a tool in your hands. the pieces are made to be struck, which simply means it can be struck with a mallet, and it will handle fairly heavy carving. all in all it is a good investment, and will probably last a long time. i think the set is more for someone that is use to carving, and works on larger pieces, such as carving in the round. the fact that there are only 12 pcs is a bit of a draw back, because as any experienced carver knows you never have enough tools, and this set does not come near to what is needed. the one complaint i have is that the price, from grizzly, is too high. the set i purchased was far cheaper. sorry amazon:)

Tool Sets Review Super Rulers -- Super Accurate -- Super Flimsy...
These are the standards in my shop for accuracy. These rulers remove all doubt when measuring. Very thin laser-etched markings on very thin stainless steel with laser-cut marking slots for using a .5mm pencil. If you want accuracy and a "reference" point for other measuring tools in your shop, this is the one to go with.

But... make a rack for them and keep them off the floor... One crimp, and the accuracy is gone.

Still... they get 5 stars!

Tool Sets Review Exactly What You Need
If you desire to elevate your measuring and marking skills, this handy set will do you right. If you're frustrated at trying to line up your measuring marks your're not alone. No more squinting at the edge of a ruler to see if you've got it right. Get it right each time with this set.

These precision marking rulers have precisely drilled guide slots to fit a marking tool such as a sharp pencil or scribe eliminating the uncertainty in your measurement. The included T-square allows one to scribe the measurement by moving the T-square along a straight edge. Perfect. The marking ruler is handy for making that perfect mark. The bend ruler is great for all those edge and end mesurements.

The rulers are made out of very thin stainless steel and if your not careful you can put a hard to straighten crimp in them.

Use them the first time and you won't want to go back.

Tool Sets Review Don't Forget to Factor in a Well Oraginzed Case
The tools are top notched, but that is only half of it. The case is well organized and easy to snap the sockets in-and-out.

Tool Sets Review Great set of tools, great case
Over the years I have had many tool sets - especially socket sets. There's a reason for that - sockets easily fall out of the case when you open them and it is hard to keep things organized. Not so with this set. Each tool is secure in its own place - no falling out and getting lost. In addition the quality of the tools seems excellent. With both SAE and metric sizes this is a really nice set and the price is right.

Tool Sets Review A really great set of tools
I decided to purchase a real socket wrench set after I knocked my 15 year old cheep-o set on the floor one too many times - and got tired of putting everything back in the case.

First let me say that this case is designed so that WHEN you knock this set on the ground all the sockets stay in place. Second, this set is very well made and thought out. (For instance the metric and standard allen wrenches are different colors - so you can tell them apart at a glance.) These wrenches fit the hand just right and are a pleasure to use.

I highly recommend them.
