Crown has not been around as long as some companies making turning tools, but the quality of their tools tells you they are serious about woodturning. Unlike some manufacturers, Crown's turning tools are sharpened and ready to use right out of the box. I highly recommend them to everyone. Do not buy cheap turning tools. Woodworking is one area where you typically get what you pay for, and the Crown tools are worth the extra expense.

It may cost more than those cheap lathes you see at Menards, but it is worth every penny. I've had my midi lathe for over two years now and have subjected it to all types of turning abuse. To date it still works perfectly and I have never had any problems with it.

One of my favorite features of the lathe is its very sturdy construction. Even on flimsy surfaces it is heavy enough to stop most vibrations from affecting the piece. I know Delta's name has come to mean less and less over the years, but if you can find one of these used somewhere, it would definately be worth it.

On the down side, I've used the tiny chisel set maybe 3 times. And they are TINY. Even turning things as small as 2" tops makes me feel like some of them might break. Don't use these as an excuse not to go get real lathe tools.

This set of picks are invaluable for woodworking. I use a lot of wild grained wood in my box making endeavors and these tools are just the ticket for cleaning loose material out of knots and burls before final polishing and sanding. They are also very useful for cleaning out excess glue from inside miter joints and dado joints. They are comfortable to hold and long enough to reach those inside corners. Highly recommend.

I think that these pieces are a great addition to anyones workshop. They work great for sanding in those hard to reach areas and the saws make great finishing cuts. I think that if you have to buy for someone that has a dremel this is the perfect gift. They are great for outlining body parts of animal cutouts. This is the best cutting and carving set that I've used. I hope this helps you decide on what you think of this set.

When looking at the EZ-Set at Amazon, I noticed that the prices are slashed but higher than the slashed price. I believe that that price includes shipping but the consumer may look at it and wonder why the price is raised.
I know that sometimes the web based stores only offer certain entries but I just though you and Steve (Hrkal) have noticed that and if it could be presented to show the free shipping.

I have the same set, only slightly larger (includes #3 phillips, etc.) and I have to say I'd have been willing to pay more than I did. Very durable (I am an industrial service electrician, and my tools see hard use) and fantastic ergonomics- the handles are soft enough to be comfortable, but firm enough to give good feedback, and have a very effective no-slip quality, keeping them in your hand. If you buy these screwdrivers, I doubt you'll be sorry.

These tools are small and cute. They have a comfortable plastic handle. The metal is very strong. They are Fiskars, so you know that they will be great. And for the price, it's practically a 'steal'.

This gift package is wonderful for anyone with a green thumb. The Fiskars tools work so well, and they last for such a long time, you won't be disapointed. Also, the packaging is already cute enough that you don't have to do anything to make it ready to give as a gift. I recommend getting one for your friend, and one for yourself.
