Very useful tool set, excellent value
This is *not* for professionals......SO if you are paid to put wooden things together, fix plastic things or do any of that jazz on a daily basis, then you should know better. Much better.
For someone like me, however, who occasionally puts cupboards and wardrobes from Ikea together, this kit is simply the best value for money I could find online and offline.
I've had it for about 3 months and it still performs as new. The drill doesn't come with diamond crystalized drill bits to break into safes; it comes with bits to drill holes into dry wall and brick wall. And it does a great job.
The plastic casing supporting the tools/holding them in place, feels a bit cheap but that's about the only problem I can identify.

Finally, a Tool Set For Everyday UseHere's why I was interested in this tool set and why it's pretty much perfect.
a) Hated having to search through a giant toolbox over & over on every project because everything is tossed on top of each other. EVERY tool, component, etc has its own slot and it's a nice tight fit so if you drop it, the 178 pieces do not fall into one giant heap of tools, sockets, etc ...
b) While quality is important, if tools are just tools to you and you don't need/want a $1,000 tool set - these might not last three generations but they are all solid and work great and at a price where I don't have to worry about if people might make off with some tiny wrench.
c) No real compromises on what you get. Unlike other sets, it not missing some main tool. This one has a screwdriver, wrench, plier, crescent wrench set, hammer, saw, etc, etc ... not to mention the cordless drill. Look at the ZOOM photo - and unlike other sets where 100 screws count as part of a "115-set" tool kit, 99.5% of what you get are actual tools or actual attachments to tools. (there are $1,000 tool sets without a hammer!)
d) the box is nice. It's not pretty but it's solid heavy plastic and the pieces require effort to get in each slot - again, that's actually a good thing as I've had sets that look pretty in the picture but if you drop the tool kit, all the pieces fall in a heap and no one really likes to pick through 50 socket heads to put everything back or the 'holder' is some flimsy plastic that yellows, cracks or just gives up the ghost. This is very solid.
There's even a little extra room in the middle when it's closed that you can keep gloves and a towel there.
About the only thing missing is that if the bolt is very long, the crescent wrench does not have an extender and you can't really reach the nut but that's pretty obscure - not to confuse anyone - there is an extender if the nut is merely a ways from your hand but not if the bolt is exessively long.
Other than that, finally a set that will serve 99.9% of your average home, car and even some computer repair use (it has torx and even a tool/magnet retriever if you drop a screw somewhere) - ALL solidly built in a solidly built case with a slot for EVERYTHING. And of course, a great price also! It's excellent!

A good saw for the moneyWell first of all the fence is junk,or at least for my uses, and the blade is too, as noted by the previous review. But dont get me wrong, this is a vey good saw,but it could be better. The refinement is not as high as compared to the bigfoot. The saw works well though, but if your welling to sacrifice a few inches and dollars id saw get the bigfoot, but all in all this is a fine machine but could be better.
Big Saw Big CutThis is the beam saw. Perfect cuts in 6x stock slow, but steady must use carbide blade. The steel blade that comes with it makes a handy wall decoration thats about it. The competition? Prazi? well if you like chainsaw finish on your house go for it. you could probably put a beaver in a harness and get a smoother result.
Big bad and uglyThis is one cool tool. It has plenty of power for cutting whatever you want to. I bought the carbide blade for it and found it much better as expected. I think Makita should include this with the price we pay for the saw. The one they put on it at the factory is a joke. They know it's not good enough and you'll be back for the cabide blade. Oh well. That's how it works. Other than that the saw is great. If you are wondering about the amp rating on the motor, don't. It has plenty of juice for deep cutting. The brake is phenomenal ! It stops the blade right now and you'd better be holding on tight or it may jump out of your hands. If you need this kind of cutting capacity , you can't go wrong with this unit

Let's eat!Out here in the boonies, eating utensils are danged hard to come by. So it's either use your fingers, or adopt the Uncle Hiram method of eating with your face in the plate (which is pretty effective, but awful sloppy). By golly, Cousin Buford brought this nifty wrench set to our most recent Sunday hoedown--to work on the '57 Edsel flatbed, mind you--but it weren't long before all these shiny tools were plucked away to help family and kin enjoy all the steaming vittles on the plywood table.
Can't go wrong with a 7-piece set ranging in size from 8mm to 18mm: why, now we have access to every tasty dish on the menu, from 'possum porridge to skunk scallops. And with the handy push button reversing, we could use these little jewels for both stirring and carving. The wrenches are made of chrome steel, which means Granny can drop them in the washbucket and they come out even prettier than Aunt Twyla's bridge work.
These tools got such a fancy name: CRESCENT FRRM7 METRIC RATCHETING BOX-END WRENCH SET. Ain't none of us know what "Metric" means, although we suspect it has something to do with one of them German philosophers who used to wear a helmet with horns on it. As for "ratcheting," heck, Uncle Hiram yells at us all the time to stop all the ratchet. And we quiet down, by golly. . .you don't want to have Uncle Hiram and his coon dogs mad at you.

Good price/performanceThese are well-made wrenches that work for most common auto and aircraft jobs. I don't think they'd work in situations where a lot of torque has to be applied, but they're excellent for the price. An especially nice touch is the carrying pouch, which allows me to toss them in my car or plane, so that I always know where they are.
Having these around kind of makes me want to break some stuff so I can fix it.

Great ValueUrrea makes tools which are an excellent value for the money, much nicer in quality than Craftsman, and about the same price. These wrenches have a high polish, making them easy to clean, and fit much better in the hand than either Craftsman, or Kobalt. Nice set, and you can't beat the price. Lifetime warranty, but more importantly, pretty abuse proof.

Works for me...I am restoring a recently purchased 65 year old cottage style house. It has 3 very thick coats of paint and one cheap thin coat that was applied over the old paint to make it look nice for listing, however this paint failed after only a couple of years. The surface is very irregular due to the poor prep work done between each coat of paint. Still, the Metabo did a good job of taking it down to a level clean surface. It takes some time to master this tool but it does work as advertised. I liked that it would get right up to the edge of trim boards but the side blades were of no value since they would not touch the side surfaces and are not adjustable. Also, I found that the oldest coat of paint, when worked aggressively, would cause a build up of melted paint on the back sides of the blades that you had to remove with a sharp blade. I ordered extra blades and will no doubt need them all before I'm done. I only got 9 blades in my pack of 10, not impressed with that. I think the harder the old paint the better, and the flatter the surface the better, but it will work on thick paint and irregular surfaces. I have about 5 hours on this tool so far and have not had any problems with the side plates. I don't use them, but they are not in the way or breaking off either. I was originally planning on selling this when I was done, but I may just have to keep it around for a few more projects. I don't think a tool costing twice as much, could do twice as good or twice as fast of a job in my case.
Great for flat surfacesThis unit is very good for flat surfaces, such as old doors, or other panel type projects. The system hooks up to vacuums but you need to get the correct fittings. I originally bought it to scrape siding on a house but ended up hiring someone. The siding was too irregular and old. This provides a plane like finish and in my opinion could easily substitute for a power plane. The four way blades are also a good feature. I think it is the type of blade being used on the newer spiral bladed jointers in the woodworking world.
Great useful tool Great toolm for stripping. If you can , set the nails deeper though so they dont dull up blades as quick.
It is a great tool for stripping trim pieces.Light and easy to hold. With some training
considering that your hands grow from a right place :), oneself can strip inner trim pieces even less that 1inch wide.
Vacuum hose.... Well it is a drag to use when on heights.
Just cover the area well(plastic is cheap)and wear good respirator, goggles and body protection.
Tool can work all ways and with some getting use to u can strip even warped wood using those side blades that many loathing here.
Just open one of the doors and get into the warped part under some angle get to the wood and then put the tool flat again.
Works for me....
Very light tool so hands are not getting tired much.
As about doors they are not as flimsy if oneself paying enough attention when to open and close them.
Hopefully most of the people here have an IQ higher than Mr.
President so there should be no problem.
I just love that tool. It is German engeneering all the way and made in GERMANY unlike Bosh, Ridgid and other profit hungry brands.

As a new homeowner myself, I did not have any tools. And this is the list of the Required tools from Costco for building the playset:
Tape measure, Carpenters level, Claw hammer, Wood clamp,
Standard cordless drill with medium Phillips bit,
1/4" and 3/8" ratchet,
1/4", 7/16", 1/8" drill bit,
7/16", 1/2", 9/16" deep well socket,
9/16" box wrench.
I expected to spend two hundred dollars in Homedepot to have the complete set. Luckily I checked Amazon first and found the Allied 39025 tool set.
Sixty dollars and three days later, I have almost every tools I need.
I am no expert on tools, but after three days of intensive use, I feel this tool set is very solid, especially taking consideration of the value.
The drill is very powerful too.
If there is anything more I'd hope for, it would be an extra battery. But with the current price, I have no complain.
