Trying to find a purpose for it.I picked this exact item up on eBay for $40 plus $17 shipping. I had it in my mind that I could use this cut out shapes in wood as I am not a drywall, ceramic tile or acoustic ceiling installer. I also wanted to add to my collection of DeWalt 18v tools. Wow was I in for a surprise. This thing is so fast you cannot do much detail with it. The sawdust gets in the way of the cut line and if you don't keep a strong grip on it, it will just rip its way through the material whichever way it wants. Sort of like a skinny router. I did manage to get some crude shapes cut but they are not square all the way through the wood. I did think about using it to cut tenons because of the depth guide. I am sure it has lots of uses but I am still searching for them. Save your money and get the corded kit with circle cutter & handle unless you already on an 18v battery & charger.

Good WrenchThis wrench is good for finish work, but it's a little springy and can be a knucklebuster when it comes to wrenching tough pipe - it can get it done though. This won't replace your standard 10 inch pipe wrench, but not bad to have in your toolbox.

lenox tubing cuttersas a plumber i use a tubing cutter almost every day.for the last year or so i have tried the new lenox line consisting of the migit, the 1 1/8 and tne 1 3/4.my favoite being the 1 3/4.i do like the solid construction, the smooth operation of the knob, the extra wheel and the built in reamer.these are worthy of a 5 rating.however the cutter is not as strong as a ridgid when it falls from an 8ft ladder, pushing the knob into the body making the operation never quite the same.for what they cost i expected more endurance.also wheels last about 1/2 as long as ridgid.once it gets wet it needs to be oiled very soon as well.this makes the rating a 3

Makita Metal SawThis metal saw is of quality Makita construction. The only nits are that this saw requires you to use a jig or table to hold the material down for a smooth cut. It's blade has too coarse of a vibration for free hand cut off of tubing. It is also hard to see the blade to maintain an accurate cut line.

torque buster (i dont think so) porter cable ,WHY ????????this impact is suppose to put out 265 ft ,lbs of torque, what a joke,i tested this on my car and with a torque wrench,,the most torque i got out of it was 135 ft lbs and that was staying on the hammer for 10 seconds ,where do these companies get there max torque rateings from because i would like to visit that test lab. the impact did get warm after doing 5 lugs and even hotter after 10 lugs,,but no grease was dripping,,i imagine if your running lag bolts with this ,,it would get real hot,,it is light weight and doesnt bust your rist up while useing it,,i have other impacts that claim to put out high torque rateings and they dont get close to it either,,so i would have to rate this a 2 1/2 stars and it would hold its weight against all the other 1/2 impacts,,but for its name TORQUEBUSTER,i would take that off of the products image,,,(SOMEONE PLEASE INVENT A REAL TORGUE ELECTRIC IMPACT)porter cable has always been a good quality tool,,so i ask the same question (WHY DID YOU BUILD THIS???)
Handy ToolI find this to be a great tool, especially if you don't have a large air compressor. It is not expected to break lug nuts. You need a 450 ft lb air impact for that. But it will break and tighten most other nuts/bolts. It is great for driving lag bolts and running a tapping attachment. I have not had a problem with overheating or dripping.
Another great Porter Cable toolLove this tool, hasn't failed me once. A bit noisy, but never quits or gets hot and I abuse my tools. Just like the rest of my Porter Cable tools I plan to have it for a Lifetime

absolute junkOK, so I ignored the other reviews and bought it. What a mistake. You know the "Greed" thing that some humans suffer. It got me. I thought: variable speed, quick collet....what a deal. FORGET IT. The collet requires the fingers of a gorilla and the variable speeds are not what you think. The speed varies of its own desires. Very annoying until it completely stops. I took mine back and got the DeWalt 621. Right, Should have initially and saved the gas money. Believe the reviews....DON'T waste your time on this piece of junk.
HorribleI read the reviews of this router before I bought it. I figured that the reports of dying motors and bad collets wouldn't get the best of me. I was wrong. After about a month and a half I am having huge problems. Cutting in soft pine, which should be no trouble for a router such as this, proved to be impossible for this pathetic machine. The engine faded and then died completely. After a few hours I got it running again, but the same thing happened again and again. This is about this most worthless tool ever, most Skil tools have proven to follow this trend. I am now waiting for a refund check (luckily this happened within the first 90 days) so that I can get a descent router. Take it from me, don't buy this router. I thought that I would save some money but get just a good of a router, doesn't happen. Spend some more money and get a good one, you will save in the end.
PleasedI didn't read the reviews before purchasing this router and I'm glad I didn't. I looked for the best combination of features and this was it. The quick release does take a bit of muscle behind it to lock into place but I still consider it easier that a wrench. I love the soft start and have had no problems with the motor. I have had the unit about 30 days but have not had any regrets yet.
First, in spite of the manufacturer's claim, they only work well in one direction. If rotated the "wrong" way, they tend to pop open. This is easily overcome by remembering which way they work best.
Second, since the cutter wheel is held against the tubing rather forcibly by the spring, if the tubing is allowed to move when the cut is completed (a painfully common occurrence), it will break a chip out of the cutter wheel -- this fact is mentioned in the product instructions, but not it's inevitability. It is still possible to use the cutter with a chipped wheel (since the cutter wheel is smaller than the tubing and the chip(s) will not hit the same spot on the tubing as the cutter is turned), but it becomes increasing difficult as the number of chips increases. Eventually, you will feel compelled to replace the cutter wheel, which brings up:
Third, changing the cutter wheel is a daunting task. I am a professional mechanic with access to a large array of tools and the first time I changed one of these cutter wheels it took me about an hour and a lot of head scratching. The wheel is held in place by a pin that must be pressed out, then pressed back in. It would be relatively easy with an arbor press but unfortunately that is not included in my "large array." (I use a bench vise and a pin punch as a makeshift press.)
In spite of these not-insignificant drawbacks, I still consider these cutters as an essential part of my tool inventory. But I only use them when nothing else will do.
