Like another reviewer mentioned, my saw is incapable of making a 90 degree cut. Don't buy it.

This saw is not accurately calibrated. For example a 90 degree setting does not produce a 90 degree cut. I can forgive that and use a square or another tool to set measurements; however, this saw cannot produce a 90 degree cut, maybe 87 degrees at best. I regret wasting my money on this and will give it away to a goodwill store. I can't, in good conscience, sell it to anyone else. Black and Decker shouldn't sell anything that it can't be proud of and no one can be proud of this mistake.

I have owned this sander for over a year now and I'm very disappointed with it. It is under powered and the belt bogs down with minimal pressure. The belt tracking adjustment is difficult to use. The sanding belts and sanding disks are a pain to change. Overall, I think Delta needs to make some major changes to make the 31-280 sanding center worth the money!

Purchased three years ago for a small home shop. Be sure to check belt tension during initial setup. Soft plastic dust covers are easily damaged by retaining screws and sanding belt. The toggle switch seems inadequate and sometimes leaves the machine running after turning off the machine. When the switch completely stopped working recently a replacement cost $34.00. Overall a good machine, tables and gauge slots are true.

I purchased this sander for making poodle toys for sale at craft shows. This sander works very well except the platten spring is too weak....I put on a stiffer spring and now it works great!!

The major problem I got with my planer is that it does'n have a base for stationary use. Bosch does! I would like to know when DeWalt will design one?

I have got a lot of use out of this tool. Used it to turn a bunch of construction grade lumber into dimensional lumber for about 60 feet of porch railing on a restoration house. Never could get a hand planer to work and this is my first power planer so my opinion is limited, but it does everything I expect. After planing four sides of a 2x2 you need to soften the edges because they are so sharp. It snipes 1-2 inches at the end of the cut -- ? This may be normal for power planers, I don't know. GREAT storage case. Manual/instructions only big complaint -- twenty pages and after the safety instructions (don't use tool in the bathtub) and five translations I still have no idea what I am supposed to do with a 1x3 piece of metal that came with the kit.

After reading the one and only review I can only assume that I got lucky with a square Dewalt hand planer. To start off I wish all my power tools (some of which cost hundreds more) came with the high class storage case the planer did. For flattening large areas or truing up and squaring long stock this planner makes loads of wood chips fast. I wouldn't use this plane for finish work on cabinets or furniture because it moves so fast that with one mistake your project would be toast. Norm probably wouldn't have this type of plane in his shop preferring the craftsmanship of the hand planes. However for those of us who work and don't have the luxury of spending hours making a large table top flat this is a real time and labor saver.

I bought this grinder new at Lowes, and did not use it for about 6 months. Once in my new shop, I installed a new light bulb following the easy assembly of the components, turned on the motor and the light bulb blew out instantly, probably due to the heavy vibration from the imbalanced wheels, and within about 1 minute the variable speed control would not function. I managed to balance the wheels with the dressing tool that is supplied, and the grinder runs on full speed now all the time. I will probably buy a new speed controller from a local electronics store to fix it myself. I am reluctant to buy any more Delta products due to the poor quality of this tool.

Bought the machine at Lowes a couple years ago(2003). I've had no problems whatsoever with it! I use it to both grind and buff various materials. Plenty of torque and the variable RPM lets me fine tune the SFPM for buffing everything from plastic to stainless. Not a production type machine but good cost/benefit. A really fine diamond dressing tool was included which keeps the grinding wheels running smoothly. Note: I worked in manufacturing for 30 years and have used 12-15 HP grinding machines (grey iron foundry) and 6-8 HP buffing machines (plastic and soft metal CNC machine shop).

The joker in India that assembled this thing should be fired (yes, it's made in India). The collet was installed backwards in the nut. I'd hate to think of what would happen if someone actually tried to use it as assembled.

Like another reviewer's, my collet was shipped from the factory assembled improperly, with the collet inserted backwards in the locking nut. Ridiculous. I was quite nervous about reversing the piece without damaging the brand-new parts, but they are basically pressure-fitted, and can be removed and reinstalled with a pair of (strong) bare hands.

Now it works fine, although I find installation of bits more of a nuisance than with my Bosch router.

I HAVE 7 MILWAUKEE 18V POWER TOOLS. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 12 OR MORE BATTERIES. THEIR BATTERIES SUCK! THE TOOLS WON'T WEAR OUT, BUT THE BATTERIES WILL NOT LAST. IN A NORMAL DAY I WILL USE 5-6 BATTERIES COMPARED TO 2 DEWALTS ON THE SAME TYPE TOOL. I'M SELLING THE MILWAUKEES AND CHANGING TO DEWALT.

Though I did not buy brand new 18v Milwaukee batteries from Amazon (yet) more customers need to be aware their Ni-Cad 18v series has major issues. I bought a multipiece kit, impact wrench, and one extra battery. Not 10 months later, ALL batteried began losing charge in a matter of days to the point the charger would not recharge them they were so dead. No other brand of Ni-Cad's have done this. NOT ONE. And I have 3 other brands, and one generic American Gardner 18v bush trimmer battery.

Milwaukee 18v batteries are complete junk, and not worth a dime.

Look for their 18v lithium series though. Since I have their tools aready, I dont have much choice but to pay (what I'm sure to be) an insanly high price for one.

I got mine as a Christmas present a few years ago. It has only a few hours of use. I still have the original blade on it! My armature blew while cutting a pine 2X6.

I was considering getting it fixed, but I think I will go buy a new one. I'll probably just buy a cheap, disposable one since the high end saws appear to be crap too.

I read a couple other reviews, and was really surprised.I have had this saw for over 3 years, and it has been great. We are a small contracting company. There are usually 3-4 people using this saw, and everybody really likes it. I personally like it better than any other circular say I have owned, with the possible exception of a Makita 8-1/4". I have recommended this saw to others, and probably still will. It gets bounced around in our trucks and trailers, usually in it's carrying case, but runs great. It could be that some weekenders don't know how to take care of tools. No personal slams meant, just an observtion.

I have had the saw for at least 4 years and it has been a good saw. I have probably used it for thousands of cuts. I have even used it to saw a 500' line in the dirt to install an invisible fence, which I would not recommend. This dirt line caused the switch to burn up from too much continuous use (probably 4 hours), and I had to replace it. Recently the automatic guard handle plastic piece broke, but I have dropped the saw numerous times and I am sure that helped to its demise.

I agree with the previous reviewer. The multitude of sizes is terrific - the case is an abomination. Most of the little plastic tabs that hold the keys in place were broken off on arrival. Several more have broken since I started using the set. This makes it impossible to use the case to keep the keys organized. If you purchase this set, plan on devising an alternate means to store the keys.

On the plus side, this is a hex set that contains more sizes than you'll ever need or use. It should take care of any and all mechanical projects you need to work on. Be aware, though, that these hex wrenches do not have the "ball" end.

The worst feature is the plastic box it comes in. Fuller needs to totally rework the design. The tiniest of the wrenches all too quickly and easily fall out with the slightest bump. Once that happens, good luck at trying to figure out what each size is, IF you're able to find them. This hex set with its poorly-designed case will not hold up to the rough treatment that it would receive in any repair shop, and remain intact.

I was rather disappointed in this tool set, as I have a set of Por Grade ratchets that I really like. The sockets and ratchets are ok, the tool chest is ok, but the renches and other tools are sort of a joke. There are a lot better deals for better tools out there.

While the cost of shipping was greater than the cost of the product, the wrenches themselves didn't have enough material to make the wrench comfortable in your hand. In any situation when you need to really torque the wrench, you find your hand in immense pain.

The wrenches aren't bad, but they're not the best. For a few more dollars, step up to some that have a wider handle to save your hands.
