I have had this tool for several years now, and what a job it can do! It can drive small holes in concrete with ease while in the hammer mode, which is easily engaged with a push of a button on the side and disengaged just as easily with a push from the other side. The fwd/rev control is next to the trigger so you can just flick your finger to change directions, not requiring assistance from your other hand at all. The variable speed control is fantastic in either high or low settings. Due to the electronic feedback system, you can feel the high torque being applied to the work throughout the speed range. Thank goodness Hitachi did not put a keyless chuck on this tool which can loosen easily in the hammer mode. The keyed chuck keeps the bit tight, and the key stores conveniently and snugly in the drill body. Another asset is the pistol grip which allows you to get your hand directly behind the tool and apply pressure in line with the rotation axis while at the same time pulling the trigger. This lets you do all the work with one hand so you can hold onto the workpiece with the other. This is hard to do with T-handled drills since you almost always have to use your other hand to apply pressure behind the drill. This Hitachi is surprisingly light weight feeling also. It makes you wonder how they got this much power in there and not feel so heavy. I have DeWalt and Makita cordless drills too, but the Hitachi is special.

The Hitachi is the finest laminate trimmer available period. It is Hitachi quality, always pretty darn good. Cheaper than just about any other router on the market (and it's a PROFESSIONAL tool). The Hitachi also comes with a money, time, and energy saving pin router guide built in that is fully adjustable. No more buying ball bearing router bits. It also does bevels.

Bought this to use in place of my air impact, which lacks the muscle I need to do some suspension work. Though I haven't done that work yet, a friend, who is a mechanic, borrowed it for some side work he was doing. He was so impressed with the torque and weight (lighter than others he's used) that he is now planning to purchase one.

This tool is ideal for installing garage doors, playground equiptment, shelving or any other installation with a lot of fasteners. The addition of a strap makes it even better. It's not cheap, but it will pay for itself (like all good tools) almost immediately.

I work as an assembler for Wal-Mart. Having personally used the Milwalkee, Makita as well as the Hitachi (an earlier model), I can tell you that nothing works as well as this tool.

It outpowers the milwaukee by a lot. It is smaller and stronger than the Makita.

It is lightweight, heavy duty, and I love the belt clip. The only fault I have with this tool is that the batteries are not Ni-Mh. However, in my previous 12 volt Hitachi(uses the same batteries), I had no problem with memory and they would last about 2 years in heavy heavy everyday use. When I say heavy use I mean between 8-16 hours a day 6-7 days a week. We put a lot of bikes together.

Hitachi has made a lot of improvements to this model over the previous model. I still have the previous model by the way (5 years and still going strong!) The biggest improvent is the weight. They have also added an electric brake which is great. They have also changed the design of the battery it will stand up on the battery. The handle also has a cushion built into it so that it is more comfortable and better balanced. The batteries last for over an hour of heavy use. The charger that comes with the new model charges the battery faster than the old one too.

I am very impressed with this tool overall.

Very nice tool for the money. Fits nicely in your hand and is well balanced. definitly not a cheap tool (in terms of quality). I torqued a 3/4 wheel lug on a car to 150 ft/lb (with a torque wrench) and the hitaci took it off in about 5 seconds of hammering. It also torqued maximum on the wheel lug nut to about 150 ft/lb, which is way over, but lets you know it can do the work. Takes off rusted nuts and bolts well. I work at a rental place and am always taking machines apart with the wr14dh and it last long on one charge which is a good thing. I only wish it came with a second battery. It is fun to use and a great time saver!

I love this little impact wrench, very light and extremely powerful. I have tested it on wheel lug nuts tightened up to 190 ft. lbs., and to my surprise, it is able to crack the lug nut free after a few seconds. It does sound like it is struggling to crack the lug nut loose, but hey, 190 ft. lbs. is already way beyond the 147 ft. lbs. specification limit. I love the variable speed and electric brake, it is able to turn even at slightly above zero rpm, and the electric brake allows the wrench to stop spinning immediately when your figner leaves the trigger (Useful when the nut is a drain plug for draining some liquid, you want total control over the speed as you don't want the liquid to spill out unexpectedly.). This wrench is simply a beauty to look at, extremely well made. And best of all, it is made in Japan! After a few use, I have already fallen in love with it.

This gun is better and stronger than any of the 3 differnt Snap On 1/2" impacts I've owned. Small and light weight. I use it everyday and for six months its been really good.

Very powerful for a 3/8 drive gun. So far no problems and dont see any inthe future. Alot of guys in my shop use these and they say that they have never had a any problems. This is the best price I have seen anywhere. Stop looking By it here.
