Drill RocksI have had this drill for 3 years and I don't use it much.
I use my cordless drills including my powerful Dewalt 988.
Today I used a 3 in holesaw to drill thru a 2 by 4,once I used the Dewalt,It struggled but drilled the hole. Then I used the
Milwalkee 302,it drilled It with ease and didn't even slow down.
I was very impressed.I will use the Milwaukee for the really heavy drilling from now on.I will use the cordless drills for
light to fairly heavy use (about 95% of the time). Why put unneeded strain on a good cordless drill?
If you are looking to buy a strong corded drill,look at Milwaukee first.
Smooth, light and powerfulHow powerful is this drill, and how well does the keyless chuck hold? After drilling 10 holes, ithe auger got stuck, and instead of stopping, the drill snapped off the end of the auger at the chuck. Fortunately, losing an inch of length didn't matter at all, but it emphasizes the respect with which such a powerful tool must be treated.
The all-metal keyless chuck is worth its added cost. The drill automatically locks in position while off, and releases when power is applied. This makes tightening a bit a simple matter of rotating the chuck clockwise. It has a ratchet action which holds the bit tighter than I can usually get a keyed chuck, yet releases easily when time to change bits, by simply rotating counter-clockwise.
Highly recommended.

Need a screw gun?
Extreme time saver!Then I bought this beauty... Let me say this: If you are drywalling or planning to drywall soon stop reading this review and buy this now! Drywall went from being a necessary pain to being actually a bit fun. First off the screw gun's ability to set screw depth acurately to within 1 /64 of an inch is awesome. A little click to the right or left with the nozzle and you're ready to rock. Next, 6.5 amps of power... wooowww! This thing has the torque and speed to easily power drywall screws through my century old wood framing. My normal drill choked often on this. Thirdly, magnetic tip. You don't realize how nice this is until you are putting up drywall panels on a 10 foot ceiling. You can one hand those screws all over the place within reach of your ladder. Just don't let it make you so lazy you start tipping over your ladder in an attempt to reach that one last place just barely out of reach... Fourthly, rugged steel case. Fifthly, the ability to drive basically any screw anywhere, wood or metal, with all the included bits and attachments. Sixthly, it's Milwaukee. That means built to take whatever you can dish out and a lifetime waranty.
Don't drywall without it!

Power and PoiseUsing the drill is a pleasure as it has so much torque it just seems to eat the wood up. No standard hand drill I ever used has this kind of power. The build quality of the unit is of the highest standard and will likely last a lifetime of moderate to heavy use. This model is also fitted with Milwaukee's "quick lock" cord allowing easy replacement in the event the cord becomes damaged.
For remodeling, basement finishing, or extensions this drill really shines. Trying to accomplish drilling many holes in wall studs with a standard electric drill would be very time consuming if not impossible for simply not being able to fit one between the studs. If however you do this kind of work every day as a business I would consider either the Hole Hawg or the new Super Hole Hawg. These units are more expensive but feature higher chuck speeds and a transmission that allows you to select the high or low speed without the use of tools. This will allow you to get work done faster when on really big jobs. But for the home owner that enjoys remodeling this Right Angle Drill is really the best choice as it is two tools in one when you consider the D-handle alone with the RAD unit removed.
Built like a tank and as much power as you could ever need this drill definately delivers. The only variable will be your choice of bits, I have to place my vote on the Milwaukee self feed bits as they cut very fast and will last a long time between sharpening. So if you have some branch circuits to run or some plumbing to install go get this drill and some self feed bits. It will make the job go much easier.

who needs a worm-drive?i have owned or used worm-drives from skil, makita, and bosch, as well as sidewinders from porter-cable, makita, hitachi, skil, and dewalt. this milwaukee is my saw of choice in nearly every situation--it is light (4+lbs less than a worm-drive), powerful, accurate, and the tilt-lok handle is a great feature. at first, i thought i'd not use the tilt-lok often, but i end up using it in a different position several times a day. another feature easily overlooked but crucial is the positioning of the secondary handle. i most often cut one-handed anyway, but when i do grab the front handle, my hand and wrist are far enough forward to stay well away from the blade sightline.
my only (small) complaint is that i'd prefer the dust collection to be a bit more organised. porter-cable saws do a great job with this, and i wonder why the other manufacturers can't seem to get it together.
if i had it to do over again, i'd spring for the blade brake model--the blade can do a lot of damage in the 8-10 seconds it takes to spin down.
This is an outstanding sawThe tool-less ability to change the base plate angle as needed;
The POWER. It cuts wet framing lumber and quarter sawn white oak with equal ease;
With all that power, I have not experienced any binding, stalling, kicking, burning etc;
The tilt lock handle is fantastic. I cannot conceive of using a saw without it now that I have it;
The blade that came with the saw is quite good.
Overall I cannot say enough good things about this saw. Its relatively light, very accurate, powerful, and feels like it will outlast me. Buy one yourself and you won't be sorry!
Fine Woodworking magazine was right!!The tilt-lok handle makes it very easy to change positions, allowing for maximum control and comfort while sawing. I especially like the adjustable front handle. It makes beveled cuts a snap, keeping maximum leverage right where it needs to be. Once you use it, you will miss it if you have to use anything else. With 15 amps, I haven't found any wood too tough to cut with it even with a dulling blade. I purchased the edge guide about two months ago. This is a necessary addition if you cut lots of plywood.
I am becoming quite a Milwaukee "fan-boy". Every tool of theirs I've bought has been a winner. As long as they keep making tools with this kind of quality, performance and features, I'll be a user for life. This saw will be a welcome addition to any serious woodworker's shop or contractor's truck. If you're still undecided, give this saw a try. You won't regret it.

If I had a hammer...I'd hammer in the evening - all over this land!
I'd hammer out danger, I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
Ah-aaah
All over this land!"
As a hint to my family that I wanted a new hammer for Christmas, I repeatedly sang Trini Lopez's "If I Had A Hammer" song hundreds of times in the weeks prior to Christmas.
Great news - it worked! My family bought me this awesome Stanley Hammer. I've never been happier with a hammer! It hammers stuff real good. I've banged up my thumb a couple of times, but that's not the hammer's fault. I just probably shouldn't be hammerin stuff after I drink too much.
Anyway...thanks to Stanley for making such a great hammer, thanks to my family for buying it for me, and thanks to Trini Lopez for singing the song that made it all possible!
Gotta go now and use my hammer some more. As a great MC once said, "It's hammer time!"

Can't go wrong!I'm not sure I'd really label it a finish hammer, but it is great for general use. I've been using it every day for a little over a year, and all I've had to do is reglue the handle and tighten up the screws. I love it for framing and siding, but I tend to swing something lighter when I get inside. The Douglas 15 oz is very nice. So is Estwing's leather handled 16 oz.

great Idea
Compact but defintely a Sawzall!
This saw is the BOMB!!!Appropriately named the Hatchet, I found this tool is comfortably held with the handle fully extended where the downward pressure from my hands provide the most support and comfort much like the way you would hold the wooden handle on a real hatchet...I'll never use a D-Handle reciprocating saw again! It's that good! Between studs, upside down or just for demolition this saw has what it takes. Milwaukee added a two finger trigger switch and their Quik-Loc cord to complete this package. The only feature I wish they included is a separate variable speed dial like the ones found on their Super Sawzalls. But that's just a minor shortcoming, since speed is easily maintained with the hefty trigger switch. The tool-less blade clamp is the best in the industry.
Milwaukee even built the plastic blow molded case with "Heavy Duty" in mind! They must be the only company to integrate metal latching clasps since converting to cheaper plastic cases over metal ones. If you're looking for a saw that's light, comfortable and built to last...seriously consider the Milwaukee Hatchet! I got mine for Christmas and this thing also cuts Noble Firs like butter!
