Convection Heaters Review hell on earth
This baby screams heat! It heats my 20 X 30 foot garage from 30 degrees to 70 in about 10 minutes during the winter. Excellent for car repairs, painting, or hanging out to avoid cabin fever during the winter. It is very efficient on fuel use and I am very happy with it.

Convection Heaters Review A Warm Place Like Home
This is a great heater! My shop is a 24 x 24 pole style. With the open ceiling, there is that much more area to heat than some shops, however, not with this heater. It really puts out. You can set it from 30 to 80,000 BTU and is variable unlike the similar Master brand, which has just 3 settings. I looked at several brands, Mr. Heater, Master, and Universal. I decided on the Universal because vary the temperature setting, good warranty and was the biggest bang for the buck. There are several types of heaters. There is kerosene. I had one like that, but it smelled bad, particularly after starting and shutting it off. There is the radiant type. Those are fine as long as you stand in front of them, but the minute you move away, you are cold again. That's not practical in a shop setting. There is the fan forced type. These put out a lot of heat, but sound like a jet engine. I don't know about you, but the shop tools make enough noise without adding more. Then there is the convection type. These heat the surrounding air. They are much quieter that the fan forced type. After speaking to various manufacturers of these products one mentioned that the convection would be best for a shop. He also suggested that I install a ceiling fan to help circulate the air. Wow was he right! It can take my shop from 40 to 68 degrees in 10 minutes with the ceiling fan on and the heater set on high. I went to go get some propane for the heater after it arrived and found out the local rental establishment carried the same one. I asked the owner how he liked them and his reply was "these are great heaters... they get a lot of use and abuse, and nothing goes wrong with them." I was pleased to hear that! I have a 7 gallon propane tank and fill it about once a month. However, the amount of gas one uses will depend on how often you use the heater. During the winter months a cold shop often gets little use. With this heater however, you have no excuse!

Convection Heaters Review montana hunting camp
I have a wall tent 14X26X5. When we arrived in camp it was raining so hard all we could do was get the tent up and the rain fly on. The temperature was in the high 30's. We did not set up our stoves or cut wood because of the rain. We fired up the Mr Heater and in no time the tent was warm. It rained off and on for the next 7 days and we only used the Mr Heater for our heat for the tent. I purchased my Mr Heater from Amazon.com used (refurbished) and it is excellent. I am going to buy three more used when they come on to amazon.com as I have two other big tents in my hunting camp and a shower tent and they will all have a Mr. Heater in them for my hunters comfort.

Convection Heaters Review 30-80K Portable Propane Convection Heater
I use the Mr. Heater 30-80K convection heater in my garage, which is roughly 625 SF with high 14 ft. ceilings, CMU block wall, un-insulated ceiling. During winter months of the teens outside, I can bring the inside temp of my garage up to 70 degrees within a short time. However, you may need to hang a box fan up near the ceiling or install a ceiling fan to circulate the heat back down, it puts out a strong trickle of heat in a 360 degree radius that is easy to regulate to keep from alternating between freezing and roasting.

The biggest plus for me with this unit it the lack of objectionable fumes as are produced by forced air kerosene heaters, the propane burns clean and is easy to purchase at my local filling station, no spills or lugging around 5 gallon containers of kerosene.

If massive amounts of heat are what you want, you should consider the forced air propane heater made by Mr. Heater. They put out massive quantities of heat in short order.

I get about 15 hours of use per 25 pound propane tank, the same type my BBQ runs on, by turning this unit on high and then shutting it down to low, alternating this cycle. You can use upwards of a 100 pound propane tank.

The unit is much smaller then I expected which is a plus, it is light and very well made and simple to use.

Convection Heaters Review Great fast Heat
I bought this about a month ago. I hadthe idea that electric would be cheaper to heat then Gas this winter. Well so far so good. Granted I am not heating the entire house. Just the living room. I keep the rest of the house at 67-66 degrees. This heater really kicks out the heat.
1500 watts cost about 10-13 cents per hour

Convection Heaters Review Worked great for 4 months
I purchased this unit at Sears about 2 years back. It kept me warm through the night and I could agree with other reviewers that Bionaire was a great product. After the winter was over, I put the unit away in my closet. When another winter arrived, the Biornaire heater was put to use again, but this time the unit did not perform as well. The heater shut itself off after 10 minutes; I followed the reset instruction but the heater was on for less than five minutes and shut itself off again. I called the customer service to report the problem because the unit was used for only 4 months. They offer me a replacement unit which is a HS3800-U, at my own shipping cost. The lesson here is to purchase a warranty with your bionaire products. That way, you are not struggling with a decision of whether or not you should spend money on the shipping ( both ways ) or just put that money toward a new product.

Convection Heaters Review Good heater!
I got Bionaire BH 3900 heater from BJs for $59 only. Amazon.com's market place is far too expensive to shop. I used to shop a lot at Amazon.com in the past, but now I have to go somewhere else, as lots of things I wanted were no more available at the Amazon.com, although I could still get it here ( from the third party seller) but the price & the shipping rate are ridiculously high, like this model here Bionaire BH3900, you could get it for $59 each at BJS, why pay $103 plus shipping here ? I got my two NEW delonghi oil filled radiators ---MG15T for $63 and HM25T for 74 ,which included $13 & $14 shipping rate from the Neweggs.com, I odered it yesterday morning & arrived this afternoon, I didn't pay for the express delivery, just a standard shipping, I was very impressed by newegg.com. If I had purchased from here I would have to pay a lot more!

Convection Heaters Review A great little heater !
We bought one after reading the reviews and tried it in our large basement which is always a few degrees cooler then the rest of the house. After having it on for an hour the basement felt wonderful. no degrees of difference. We were shocked that this little heater can put out so much heat. No longer using blankets when watching T.V in the basement. I am going to get one more in case they stop making this product. It is light weight and has a handle on one end to easly roll it where you need it... also it is wonderful if you have small kids around it. The grill is warm yet not hot enough to burn your hand. A great product!
Well worth the money!!!

Convection Heaters Review Dad, can we get another heater?
I bought his thing to add supplemental heat to an 18' x 12' playroom in the basement and frankly my dog could heat the room faster. The only setting we ever use is 7 (highest) and it just doesn't cut it.

Convection Heaters Review Efficient, but not totally silent.
I purchased this product about 3 months ago. Initially, I was very satisfied with its effectiveness and quietness, like many other reviewers here have noted. But as time passed, it began to get noisier. It seems to have a very sensitive thermostat, so once it reaches the set temperature, it'll turn off, but only for a minute or so, then it'll turn on again to heat for a minute, and so on and so on.

Well, it seems as though its metal components expand and contract as the unit heats up and cools down, making a continuous ticking sound. It starts to become like Chinese water torture after a while. Please note that I use it in my bedroom while sleeping, so in the still of the night, all sounds seem amplified. It has even awakened me on occasion. I'm sure that during most daytime hours, it would seem almost silent.

Recently while on vacation during the holidays, I stayed in a room with a DeLonghi upright radiator type heater. It seemed to take a while to warm the room, but when it did, the room was hot! And it did not make any sound whatsoever, all night long. If I do heave the FE1500 out the bedroom window one of these nights, I'll definitely replace it with a DeLonghi.

Convection Heaters Review Great Heater and stylish
We have used this brand of heater for 8 years. We use it in our sunroom during the winter and actually use 2 of them at the same time due to the size of the room. We are very pleased because it is quiet. We always keep it at the hightest setting and it stays on 24/7 during the winter. Probably because of the way that we use them, their effectiveness declines after 2 years, but we keep buying the same heaters. The styling is very contemporary and blends into our decor.

Convection Heaters Review Works great
I bought this heater to take the chill off the cool desert evenings. I use it on my patio which is not enclosed and it puts out enough heat to warm 4 people sitting around the patio table. Often the person sitting closest to the heater has to move away as they get too warm. I used this unit all winter with no problems.

Convection Heaters Review What a Little Gem!
We heat differently then most folks; just the room that we're in instead of the whole house. For the past 20 years or so we got along just fine with a kerosene heater even though it was a bit of a pain having to fuss with pouring fuel into the tank with a funnel and the odor when you first fired it up. Last year clear grade kerosene jumped to $3.49 a gallon and this year $6.21. I saw this little heater and with propane only $1.65 a gallon I figured - No Brainer!!! Right out of the box and onto a five gallon tank took all of five minutes and this little gem worked flawlessly the first time and ever since. No hassle, no pouring, no warm up period, no wick burn off every week, no odor at all, just instant, focused heat. Great value for the price!

Convection Heaters Review Very Easy to Setup
It was easy to setup, works great, does exactly what it says. I use this in my garage along with a 75000 btu torpedo heater, this is much quiter, and I am going to buy another.

Convection Heaters Review Good, reliable heat
I bought one of these for keeping me warm in the garage while I'm working. My garage is too big to economically heat the entire space, so I opted for a directional heat, as I'm typically somewhat stationary at the bench. This does the trick quite well!

The unit is solidly built, and I've used it now for about 4 months without a problem.

A couple of improvements I think could be made:

1) The unit I have does not have an igniter on it, so you must light it via an external source (usually a match). I found I can easily light it via a small Benzomatic torch I own, but it would be nice to have an igniter on it. I'm not sure; perhaps a pricier model has this feature.

2) To connect the heater to the propane, you have to use a wrench. I would prefer if it were more like my BBQ grill, where you can tighten on the connection without tools.

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase!

Convection Heaters Review Quick Warm Heat cuts morning chill
I have the older version that is functionally identical to the current version (they replaced the L-bolt that holds the heater on the tank with a ribbed knob on the new version). I love it for taking the morning chill off the house in the morning. I keep it in the kitchen and fire it up first thing on a cold morning. After about 30 minutes the chill is off not only the kitchen but the adjacent master bedroom and living rooms.

Be cautious - like any unvented heater it can be dangerous if you try to heat an unvented space for any length of time.

It is economical to use and even more so if you are able to find a local propane tank refiller. If you are forced to exchange the tank, it can cost [$$$]. If you have the tank refilled it will only cost [$$$].

My heater was given to me, used, and I liked it so much I gave one to my sister to use when she didn't want to burn the fireplace. I am now going to buy a newer one for the house, and relegate the older on out to my workshop.

Reliable, efficient, made in the USA - whats not to like.

Convection Heaters Review Mr. Heater MH24T
These are great for camping and on your patio. We have used these for a number of years. We tried another brand and they were noisey and did not approach the standard of Mr. Heater.

Convection Heaters Review Outstanding Heater!
I can't add much to what good that's already been said about this heater. It's safe and works like a charm. I CAN put to rest the the "filter" issue the one joker has been harping on. There's no doubt it's the same idiot making this bogus claim. In their last post they said "my manual says that if you use the unit with bulk propane, it "must" only be done with their official connector dongle and filter" Uh huh... Well here's a suggestion for anyone that wants to see this liar exposed. There's a link in this ad section where you can view or downloand the manual for this heater. Read through it or do a search for the words "filter", "dongle", or even the word "bulk" and you WILL NOT FIND IT. There is ZERO mention of this imaginary filter. Nor will you find it in any of the documentation that comes with your heater. The filter doesn't exist! Whoever made up that filter and has kept coming back to the reviews harping on it has some serious mental problems. Give it a rest already!

Convection Heaters Review Buddy Heater
I am very well pleased with the heater, the service and the delivery. I have never used Amazon.com before, but believe me I certainly will again. We use this heater to take to my grandson's baseball games and you wouldn't believe how handy the heater is. Thank you for fast delivery, and great prices.

Convection Heaters Review Wow, people have strong feelings about a simple appliance here!
A great little heater. Running it 10 minutes on and 20 minutes off on low makes my VW van toasty warm on a windy, 15 degree day.

The only problem for my purposes is the condensation - it generates a lot of water vapor during operation.

You'd be up for a Darwin Award if you managed to injure yourself with this thing, assuming you know enough not to touch a fire.

There's a low-oxygen shutoff, a tip/shake shutoff, and several other safety features, plus detailed safety instructions.

Someone wrote that there is "no mention of a filter in the owner's manual", but there is in mine. It says that if you use the unit with bulk propane, it "must" only be done with their official connector dongle and filter. They go on to specify that the filter should be replaced yearly.

Convection Heaters Review no sound, no smell, just a lot of warmth
This is a current item at Lowes, EW6708K, sold under the Kenwood name for $59.99. Buy it before is sells out; inventory won't last long with gas heating costs going up 50% this winter!

I am convinced this heater will be the only heat source I will need all winter long in my 12 x 16' bedroom.

I couldn't be more pleased with the product - so pleased I bought 2 more for Christmas presents.

Convection Heaters Review Great Heater
In contrast to other reviewers, this is an excellent heater. It is a radiative heater, if you want heat blown at you or directed, by a heater with a fan. This heater works best when something is above it like a shelf (an appropriate distance away) to project the heat out into the room, like the radiator covers seen in older houses.

Otherwise provide another type of airflow, such as a ceiling fan.

As a note:
* No smell as many reviewers have mentioned, except for the first week.
* The timer works great.
* It takes about fifteen minutes to a half an hour before you can feel the heat because it is oil-filled and slowly spreads the heat.
* Oil heating is more efficient heating and easier on the pocket book with the monthly energy bills.

* Thermastat works well in regulating the amount of heat provided and lessens the amount of energy used.

* User manual is very brief.

Convection Heaters Review Warm and Toasty!
This space heater was worth every penny! It keeps me warm and toasty, is absolutely silent, and doesn't look bad either. I have been using the heater safely in a small bedroom which has now become a preferred location in my chilly apartment. I have yet to experience an odor from the oil, and the digital preset temperature function is a plus. I was apprehensive to buy this product but I am certainly glad that I did.
