I love this heater! It is small enough for the bedroom and has incredible heating power. The heater is very quaint and actually looks like a real fire.

After researching many outdoor heaters we found that this was our best option. We have an enclosed patio/pool area and placement of other top cap styles were to tall (you need 3' clearance). This is not only the right height but the heat radiates all the way around instead of just from the dome top. It also has a variable heat output setting. Perfect.

I've owned this Broan Portable Heater for years & it's the most durable little heater I've experienced in my life. It's compact so you can place it anywhere, and the fan forced heat gets real hot, heats up your area really well. I've tried all portable heaters and this is the best one hands down! I live in a city where it's chilly all year round. I place it in my room close to where I sit and turn this heater up; especially in the mornings this thing is a real blessing! I highly recommend it!!

This cord has all the ideal features; good length (50 feet), triple receptacle on the end, and lighted end. And it's 10 gauge cable which makes it very heavy duty.

Before researching heaters, I had no idea how many BTUs I needed and how fast one of these heaters would work, so I hope the following is useful for those buying this heater.

I bought this heater for the sole purpose of warming my garage so that I could spray waterborne lacquer finishes that require a temperature around 70 degrees in order to dry.

I live near San Francisco where the temp rarely gets below 50. My garage is 25' x 18' with 11' ceilings and is usually around 55-62 degrees when it is 50 outside. I needed to warm it around 10 degrees and the little 5000 BTU "personal" heaters didn't raise the temperature at all.

The L5600 works, but doesn't work as fast as I expected. It takes about 2 hours to raise the temperature from 60 to 70 degrees. I wish it worked faster, but that is no fault of the heater - I realize that I have a fairly big space to heat.

My garage garage sits under our house and has two uninsulated walls. If you live in a much colder climate, expect this heater to get the chill out, but I doubt it would raise a garage from 30 - 70 degrees.

The house furnace is in the garage and I think I'm going to cut into the ductwork and add a vent into the garage. I should probably put the 120,000 BTU furnace to work seeing that it is way overpowered for our 1400 sqft. house.

I like it. It works and heat my room in the cold winter.

Living in foggy San Francisco during the summer can be soooooooooooo cold. This little puppy worked wonders keeping my my bedroom cosy. Heats up the room quickly on high and keeps the room warm all night on low. It is relatively quiet and I would highly recommend it.

My father purchased this heater TEN years ago when we were having some financial troubles and needed to heat the house one cold Maine Winter. We heated our 1000 sqft house all winter with ONE unit, not a small task when you realize that you have to keep a window open or you will have some serious issues with the O2 Levels in your home. It moved to the garage to heat my fathers workshop, was lent out to my uncle for a winter project, lent out to my sister as her husband finished off their addition, and now TEN years later it is in my garage heating my workshop. The only thing we have ever done in all TEN years was to add Kerosene, Change the Bateries (for the electric start), and Change the Wick!

Although we plan on a woodstove for emergencies because of the lower ammount of Stink this Kerosene Heater is by far the best value we have ever found. I highly recommend it, take care of it and you'll be lending it out to your kids in another ten years.

Wasn't sure what to expect since it was "refurbished", but the heater came in original packaging/instructions and installed and worked fine on the first use and has worked fine each use since. Why spend more?
