Heaters Review If reliability isn't important to you...

I placed an order to purchase a Sunpentown portable air conditioner and went to their facility in City of Industry, California to pick it up. When I arrived, another gentlemen was there to pick up his WA-1230H that was in for repair. This got me concerned about the purchase I was about to make so I asked him some questions about it. It turns out that this was *** THE THIRD TIME *** he had brought his AC in for repairs. After the second time his unit broke down, Sunpentown provided him with a new one (which was the one he was picking up from being repaired that day). He told me that the first time his AC broke was within 3 days of purchasing it. 2 separate units breaking down a total of 3 times = YIKES!

Needless to say I began feeling very uncomfortable about throwing down almost $500 on an AC (WA-1220H) that I was no longer confident in. I asked one of the employees about the reliability of the air conditioner I was about to receive and he said it was "good." "So it's not great or excellent?" I questioned. He laughed nervously and then went on to explain that the reliability depended on how the unit was treated (during transport, whether you had pets and cleaned out the filters regularly, etc.). He didn't give off much of a confident vibe while he talked about the product. That, combined with seeing the poor guy picking up his AC after the third repair, provoked me to cancel my order and walk out the door. My gut feeling was that I would be very disappointed with this purchase and that I would have been kicking myself for not paying heed to the warning signs.

I've decided to not purchase a portable AC. Instead, I'm opting to look for a set up that's more reliable. It will be more of a hassle installing, but I will at least be able to enjoy the AC without worrying that it will break down.

    Heaters Review Bomb! Avoid it!
It couldn't cool an 11x12 room (high ceilings) while a window a/c with half the rated BTUs does ok. Its fan is very, very loud (although not the compressor).

GREAT customer support for a ROTTEN product. Avoid it!

Heaters Review 35,000 BTU Universal Heater Review
I received my heater from Amazon (quick delivery) today. Poorly made (China), makes more noise than my old one, and the cord is so short (only a couple of inches) that you have to use an extension when right next to an outlet. My recommendation, try another brand.

Heaters Review Purchase of Fujitronic Cooler Fan not advised
We ordered this product about a month ago, thinking it would be a great substitute for an air conditioner. The product arrived and we set it up and plugged it in. The control panel on the product would not function. It could only be run with the remote and the cooling function could not be accessed with the remote. We contacted the company and they send out another one, with an order for the defective one to be picked up by a shipper. Today I set up the second cooler fan, made sure it was set up properly, including the plug at the bottom to keep the water from running out. However, I plugged it in and pushed the button for the cooling feature and all the water in the tank ran out onto the floor! This product is going back and I will never buy another Fujitronic product. They do not seem to have any sort of product quality control. I would strongly advise anyone considering buying this product to look elsewhere!

Heaters Review WindChaser Oil Filled Heater: Problems
I bought the WindChaser 7-Fin Oil Filled Heater for $29.99 at a medium sized chain of Home Improvement Centers in Upstate, NY. I was searching for a 600 Watt heater and the box labels the power settings as 600/900/1500 Watt which is false. The actual settings are 700/800/1500 Watt so I am very wary of this product. Four wheels come that you attach to plates at the bottom of the fins and one wheel broke when I was inserting it so the heater is tipped to one corner so the oil is not properly distributed to heat. The heat settings are merely numbers and the instructions don't tell you where the thermostat is to measure the air temperature. In my opinion, these are too many problems "out of the box" so I am returning it.

Heaters Review FAN DIDN'T WORK + UNIT IMMEDIATELY SWITCHED OFF
Ah, it's times like these that I wish Amazon.com's review ratings scale were of the sensible absolute-zero variety. Instead I have to give this nifty li'l piece of junk 'one star', when it deserves not even a lump of coal (*that* could at least keep you warm for a little while), much less a star. Anyway, on the unit I received the fan didn't work on any setting - the heater coils briefly glowed, and within seconds the unit switched off and the red "caution" light came on. I believe the fancy word is "defective." I don't care so much about the $14; what I really want returned to me is the hour of my life I spent unpacking, unwrapping, fiddling with, reading manual for, fiddling with some more, rewrapping, repacking, arranging return for and writing scathing review of this li'l baby, but I know it's not going to happen, so the best i can hope for is that I spare a few other folks a similar frustration.
