Great 14 FT Ladder; $99 at Costco 2-2006Be aware that the extension rating is misleading. I needed a 13 ft ladder to reach my roof. I first purchased a Werner MT-13 (13FT) at Loew's on sale for $79, regular price $99, only to find the maximum extension was actually 10 1/2 ft NOT 13 ft on a ladder advertised to be 13 ft. So I returned it then found the helpful notes on this site about the availability of the Werner MT-17 ft ladder at Costco for $99 -- the same regular price as the 13 ft ladder at Loew's. Likewise, the 17 ft extension is actually about 14 1/2 ft NOT 17 ft.
The extension has an unusual and unexpected flex at the main hinge when fully extended which is a bit unsettling and, once understood, one may find it acceptable or not.
Loew's also carries a 17ft ladder made by Cosco (not to be confused with Costco) at about $159. It is also a Little Giant knock-off but has a lower weight rating (225 lbs) and is a bit cheaper with plastic parts and less sturdy. Go for the Werner; it is a better ladder all around: sturdier, with a higher weight rating (300 lbs) and made of better materials. The Werner 17ft ladder is a great buy at Costco at $99 particularly considering it is the same price as the smaller 13 ft ladder.

IT WORKS ..CONFIDENCE ON A LADDER?!?!!?!?!?!?!I have a sloped lot, about 10 foot grade. Getting on a ladder was a nightmare , having to use bricks, rocks, or boards just to get it level. (nevermind stable).
I bought this item for my Lousville 24 foot Aluminum ladder from Home Depot. Installation was a cinch. The hardest part was getting the old feet off. There was a small bracket that was riveted to the ladder. I just used my 1/4 drill bit to "carve" it out. Next, 4 more holes, and a socket wrench to install the bolts, and it was done. Total 8 bolts.(about 45 minutes with the right tools).
I tested it with the Xmas lights this year. It is about an 18foot reach to my eaves on 1 side. What a DREAM. A straight , STABLE ladder under foot. The pin and socket mechanism is easy to use. Just set the ladder straight , push the button and the foot drops the the needed level. Best of all with both sides almost any slop is negotiable. What this product does is make you feel confident on a ladder when using it on a sloped lot. And that is worth its weight in gold. The Xmas lights are up and it was so much more relaxing having safe, stable footing.
I will doing alot more work with my ladder now that I feel safe and stable one it.
Don't wait another day if you have been in this situation , you will not regret it.
Great Product!Qickclick Stabilizer and its unbelievable. I'm not afraid to use a ladder now.

Solid, dependableUnfortunately it does have one drawback. The steps are so high that getting up to the second one without some sort of external support is very difficult. With two bad knees, it's just about impossible. Once you're up, no problem, but getting there is a major pain and I'm often reduced to using a kitchen chair as an intermediate step. I could wish there had been one extra step, or a grab bar at the top. But apart from this, I think the Werner is a superior product for the money.

Great Ladder; S&H snagsS&H could be better as the ladder only had one stip of tape to hold the bottom together; it came off, but the sturdy ladder showed no damage. There was not good communications between Eagle and the local delivering agent who was calling a wrong phone number (that had a distant area code) to try and reach me for delivery. I had to contact Amazon to find out who the local delivery company was as the on line info "stalled" at the intermediate Eagle Terminal 350 miles away.
A Cadillac among laddersLast, but not least...Amazon was awesome on this deal. We received our ladder with slight (cosmetic) shipping damage and were given immediate attention that resulted in our complete satisfaction. Thank you Amazon. We are happy repeat customers!

Could use more pockets
Great ProductBest feature is the velcro bellows bag. Holds a full bag of cable nail straps (for romex) and opens wide for easy access. The velcro seals tightly with no leakage, even when the ladder is folded up and tossed in the truck. I usually demonstrate this feature by climbing down, slapping the pocket closed, folding up the ladder, and then turning the whole thing upside down and shaking. No spillage.
The second best feature is the drill holster. Holds securely even without the strap fastened. Easy in/out even with long bits or drivers.
Having hammer loops on both sides is very handy. I don't lay tools on the top of the ladder because I usually forget and don't like getting thumped in the head when I move the ladder. The hammer loops are stiff so they don't collapse and trap the hammer handle.
These features turn the step ladder into a mobile workbench.

Amazon's return policy is by far the best. I'll even pay a little extra just to do business with Amazon.

Great Ladder
The best ladder yet
You can't beat itWhen you get yours, cut out the instructions from the cardboard box and save them. You'll never remember all the configurations you can have. True, there is a video, but you want a cheat sheet when your doing real work and don't have time to watch a video.
Buy the extension for paint cans, etc. It's worth it.
The only disappointment is the wieght of the ladder. It's not bad, but it's so well constructed that a fully configured ladder is a bit heavy. If you want a lighter one, get the 17'. The learning curve can be large for those not mechanically inclined. Don't let these little things stop you though. Jump in an get it.
[...]Knockoffs. Made in China, need I say more? This was built in America, Springville, Utah to be exact. Sure you can get a cheaper ripoff, but "buyer beware" you generally get what you pay for. This is the original and the best. Buy less than the best and you'll probably end up buying it again, and paying more in the long run.
