1000 Stars Plus
A must buy for anyone in the construction industryThis calculator comes with me wherever I go. As an architect, I am constantly using it to help me in field surveys and design decisions. How I lasted for so long on the English system without it is a mystery. Even in meetings my colleagues are happy that its there to save us time. Seriously, until we switch to the metric system, this will be an invaluable tool for me.
Time = MoneyI am a construction foreman in the film industry. I have always taken pride in my math, but this thing makes double checking so quick that I now carry it on my belt. Stairs are easy, rise/run for squaring, you name it. I have also worked overseas and the metric conversion features saved me. This model is better than the IV because of the integrated cover and owners manual. It is so good that someone stole mine again and now I need to buy another. If you do takeoffs or run numbers for a crew all day like me, buy one of these.

I'll give it 5 stars to be fair. It is an excellent idea. After using a friends, I decided to buy my own, but balked at the price. A trip to Northern Tool for a trailer jack, and about $10 worth of parts from HD, and I had an equally functional and more attractive tool for less than $50. I've now made about half a dozen because they really are very useful, but not for $150 each.
A real help. What a great use of a very simple concept. The guy who came up with this idea is pure genius. A must have for installing wood floors.Quickly and easily closes gaps without damaging the flooring.Simple setup makes it an effecient tool to use. It's worth every penny.
Great tool for hardwood flooringThe Cepco floor jack is a fantastic tool if you are installing hardwood flooring and want really tight joints in those areas next to a wall where you cannot get a flooring nailer. Instead of using screwdrivers, chisels, or wedges to force the flooring together, the floor jack simply presses it into place with no bother and no fuss.
I recommend using a 2x4 or 2x6 at least 36" long against the wall that you are going to press against to keep from damaging the wall or pushing a single stud out of place. The wall jack can generate a lot of force and in the hands of a careless installer it could dislocate a wall or partition.
While this tool is designed primarily for installing hardwood flooring, creative carpenters will undoubtedly find many was to use this tool to precisely move framing members. It is worth every penny that I paid for it.

Industry (Trade) standardpretty much the standard now if you look around job sites. Now I know why. Very good investment.
Simply ingenious! This is the best, least labor intensive and most reasonably priced scaffolding system I have used. To get up 48 feet(max)5-6 stories, with a 20 foot width span, took me 20 minutes- to erect and pump up the two of us and 300 pounds of shingles. Think of the area (1,000 square feet!) you can work before you need to dismantle and move. And we often find it faster to wind down and pump back up for resupplying stock. My one recommendation is that even the 24 foot pole length should require an extra hand erecting. Very safe, secure and nicely made. Smooth as a baby's ... for increased flexibility, I would also recommend jumping in and getting the 12 foot poles right away.
What a piece of machinery!!Well what can I say? This scaffolding is just incredible in its durability and reliability.
I suggest you go out an buy some for yourself not later but NOW!!!!

Remodeling EstimatorI am a senior estimator in the remodeling industry. I used to use an ordinary calculator to solve my math problems, now I have a calculator that cuts my estimating time in half. This calculator has also improved my accuracy breaking my calculations down to 1/16 of an inch, try to do that with an ordinary calculator. I believe that everybody should have this alculator sitting on their desk (except for my competion, let me get all the bids).

A great timesaver, and on the job, time is moneyThis is a wonderful tool for straightening and aligning walls. It may be a bit expensive for what it is, and could easily be fabricated by anyone with a welder and a little common sense.
However, when compared to the time and labor involved with springing and bracing walls with 2 x 4's, a few of these braces on the job make life a lot easier and save time, energy, & money.

I'm a lumber jack, and I'm OK...Working solo I used one 2601Q to raise a 26ft long by 9 foot tall 2X6 wall with little problem. Jack tends to bind if the 2x4 is not smooth, and then the rachet requires persuasion using hammer taps.
Definitely well worth it!I've been framing for over 20 years and have always used a crane or many guys to put up a wall. With these jacks, 2 guys can easily put up large walls. I highly recommend these wall jacks.
Wall Jack PurchaseThis wall jack is exactly the same model available at our local lumberyard store, but about 40% less cost. Quality is excellent. I used it raising fully sheated framed wall on a house I am constructing. This was a very good purchase.

Be carefulBe careful when ordering this product. The photo shows 4 poles, no where does it say you need TWO kits to make a room as shown. The description say it has two poles, but the room needs 4 poles to work.
Works as advertized and ...The telescoping twist-lock poles are a dream to work with. This is particularly so when you use the poles for other things such as a 3rd and 4th hand when putting up 4 foot light fixtures, sheetrock, and even fold down attic stairs. In fact I use these poles for these things more than I do for dirt control.

I am making cabinets, windows, and doors. In all of those, especially the windows, you need to do a lot of calculating in fractions. That makes the math work tedious at best. I was finding common denominators, then adding subtracting, dividing, multiplying, etc. Having to convert all along the way was a major amount of factoring. This calculator thinks in fractions as well as the standard arithmetic format. So you can insert, 8 1/8", and 3 13/64" for example, and it does all of the figuring for you. Convert your answer to board feet for material costs, is only a couple of buttons away. How many yards of concrete do I need to make the footers, no problem. I want to build an arch top doorway, and need to know the total amount of distance of the half circumference. No problem, just put in the rise at the center, and the run across the base, and it gives you every piece of information you could possibly need to know. This is just scratching the surface. This will be a tool that I will use for a long time to come. As I grow accustomed to its many capabilities, I will use it more and more, for a wide array of applications.
Could we call this calculus? It seems like it. When you watch the included CD that comes with the included calculator software version, you will see a video tutorial that explains a lot of the functions. Some are best understood by practitioners of that specific trade, but it makes me want to learn.
How much roofing material do I need? Just put in the pitch, and the floor space, and it calculates the amount of material. How many cubic yards of soil do I need to fill in the hill leading up to a wall? How many yards of concrete do I order for a patio. Determining hip and valley rafters. What is their length, and angle, and where do you put the bird mouth? Everything is calculated, and displayed in some applications as a sub chart with all of the finished answers in the software version. So it is nice to have both. Whether you are at your desk, or in the field, every option is covered.
I highly recommend the Construction Master Pro, I can't remember when I was more excited about a tool. I can't wait to use the calculator in ever expanding roles.
The price here at Amazon was 10 or 20 percent lower than the other sources, or at best the same price as others, and included free shipping. My advice, buy it, and buy it here. I warn you though that if you download the free trial version, you will be hooked after using it only a few times. Hope this helps.
