Great Gift For Mr.Fix-It!I got one of these sets for my husband for Father's Day. He LOVED it! It allowed him to fix a TV and create a new adapter for some electronics we have. He is searching for new uses and I am looking forward to borrowing it to do some stained glass work!

BISSELL BARBIE VACUUMI LOVE IT. MY DAUGHTERS (AGES 9 & 10 ) RECEIVED ONE OF THESE FOR CHRISTMAS AND USE IT ALL THE TIME. IT REALLY WORKS GREAT. THEY VACUUM THEIR ROOM AND THEIR YOUNGER BROTHER'S ROOM ALL THE TIME. I PURCHASED THIS ONE FOR MY NIECE (AGE 6) AND AM SURE SHE AND HER MOTHER WILL LOVE IT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM.
Best vacuum in the houseThis vacuum works great. My daughter loves to use it whenever mom is vacuuming. It works so well that we have found ourselves grabing this vacuum for small spills rather than the house vacuum.
Mommy's Little Helper!!This is one of the best items I have purchased for my daughter! The charge lasts plenty of time for her attention span. She loves to help mommy around the house, and it really works and pick up quite a bit of dirt! She is able to vacuum up small messes and do in-between vacuums to help me with house work. It teaches her about doing chores, but she has fun at the same time. She loves being able to vacuum her own room too!! We absolutely love it!

Something you won't see in a magazine reviewFirst, I am pleased with this router system. I researched 4 or 5 other routers and ended up with this one, based mainly on what I read in magazines and other reviews.
I've now owned it for a little over a year. I'm not a full time woodworker so the router doesn't have as much time on it has you may think after owning it a year. I've done, maybe, a dozen or so cabinet doors and the like in that time.
A couple weeks ago it broke. It had been in my router table for a long time so it was never dropped or abused. What happened was it would turn on and work fine. Then I would shut it off to readjust something, and it wouldn't turn back on. I'd check the connections, etc, and it would work again. After this went on for a time, it finnally stopped turning on at all and I was forced to take it in for repair.
I got it back yesterday. Luckily it was only a $28.00 repair to replace the on/off switch. See, it seems the seal (there actually isn't one) around the switch doesn't keep all the fine dust particles out of the switch. In time, the dust built up inside the switch and it clogged the contact (which is about the size of two pen heads, its very small). There was about a teaspoon of dust inside the switch.
I plan on putting the router back into my table but not before I run some duct tape around the seal in the attempt to slow the dust accumalation down a bit. The mechanic said there is no way to prevent the dust from getting in there again but the tape may help. That it is in a enclosed router table probably doesn't help much, as compared to being used outside the table where the dust has a chance to be blown away from the router motor.

great router combo, except...Wow, switch failed at one year plus 19 days, so no warranty help. Why are they selling a product with a known switch problem? It took me about an hour to fix the problem. The little spring inside was bent and out of position so I had to modify it a bit. Now it works like new. In other words, I will have to fix it again, after it fills with dust again. How about a recall Bosch?
SWITCH PROBLEMLike many of my fellow reviewers, I have enjoyed using the tool, until the power switch died. Of course, the tool is just outside of the one year warranty. Bosch is sending me the "redesigned" switch at no charge, but will not install. I would very much appreciate any simple procedures to change the switch.

Pretty good sawPretty good saw for its size. set up went quickly after I sent the first one back. Absolutely could not square the blade with table. I could square up the blade on the replacement saw, but just barely by really forcing the blade against the stops. Appears this model needs another 1/6" play in adjustment. Fence is a good one. If you replace the so/so blade that comes with it you need to shim the blace out on the arbor or it will rub. Even the one that comes with it has 0 clearence.
A GOOD JOBSITE TABLE SAWI have used this saw for three years now and have found it to be one of the best jobsite portable table saws on the market. What distinguishes this saw is its' fence. The rack and pinion adjustment makes it easy to dial in your measurement and keeps the fence perfectly parallel to the blade. As other reviewers have mentioned the miter gauge is pretty useless but I use a sliding compound miter saw for making mitered cuts so this is not a big deal for me. This is not a cabinet saw, it works fine ripping framing lumber and paint grade finish work.
My one bit of advice for anyone considering buying this saw is to not buy it online.I recieved this saw as a gift from my family and when it arrived at my house the box looked like a big yellow boulder. Every corner was smashed in and there were a few large tears in the box as well. When I unpacked the box and inspected the saw I realized that the rails that guide the telescoping fence were bent. Amazon customer service was very understanding and paid for the return postage. Amazon does nothing to prepare this saw for shipping. The box it comes in is not meant for individual shipping direct to consumers. There is no padding of any kind. This saw is meant to be shipped stacked with other saw boxes on a pallet and then shrink wrapped. This is how retailers receive shipments. I would advice everyone to not purchase large tools such as table saws, miter saws or compressors from mail order companies. You might have no problem and your items might arrive in perfect condition but there is a good chance what you receive will be damaged. Making matters worse is you will have to ship the item back and wait a long time to receive a replacement. Prices online are generally better than what you can get from local retailers but considering the hassles of dealing with problems I would rather pay a little more knowing I can get immediate satisfaction form my local tool retailer. Amazon is fine for buying small power tools that often come shipped in their own protective case but I would seriously recomend if you are buying any large heavy tools to make your purchase locally.

Poor quality machines. We've been using these saws in our middle school wood shop for the last five years. In that amount of time, I've lost track of how many times I've had these in for repairs. It's more of a hobby saw that can not stand up to serious use. In addition, one saw that we purchased, stopped working a week after we took it out of the box.
tribute to the bestThis scroll saw is a Bentley. By comparison, the other scroll saws on the market are Yugos, unless you want to fork over an outrageous sum of cash.
Dewalt DW788 ScrollsawAfter looking at reviews of many scrollsaws and trying to stay uner $500, I bought the Dewalt DW788. I use it for Intarsia so it has to be able to do some fine cutting. I've already finished two projects with it and I am completely satisfied with it. There is virtually no vibration and changing the blades is a snap since no tools are required. It's well built and the only assembly was connecting the base plate which only required two screws.

Good Product.......AlmostI read a few reviews about the poor batteries. I don't have my drill long enough to answer that issue. I do like the way the pack slides off with ease and reverses for tight spaces.
I haven't been able to keep the chuck locked as it keeps coming loose and the bit falls out. So how can a quality drill have a chuck that is poorer than my budget priced drills that I beat around? Come on Milwaukee, let's get it together.

Great drill, bad batteriesI have this drill along with the combo kit and the tools are definately top quality however, the batteries just plain suck. The battery packs always die after 18 months or so with no warning at all. They just wont charge period. You have to either buy replacement packs or get another tool, ouch.
One year laterWhen I first bought the drill, it would run all day on one battery. Now it seems like battery life is much shorter. Went through two batteries the other day before noon. Lots of power originally. Take the other reviewer's comments re: batteries seriously.

FEW PROBLEMS WITH SETUP, BUT TAKES TIME FOR ONE PERSONBought this as a retirement present. Was planning to buy at Woodcraft and spend around the same price once you add Amazon $200 shipping charge, but Amazon then offered to throw in the Jet 1100CFM canister dust collector. This is a $550 item at Woodcraft. I could not pass up the Amazon deal. In addition, they were offering 10% off all other tools, so the mobile base came down to $135 compared to Woodcrafts $200.
If you're concerned about shipping damage, pay attention to the RED tilt indicator on the main saw box. It's about the size of a credit card, and the little round window in it will tell you if the box was tipped over. Obviously, you still need to check for carton damage. Like another reviewer, a different carrier than the main saw shipped the Biesemeyer fence and extension table. It's the main saw package that weights around 450 pounds on the pallet. Fortunately I was able to ship everything to our company's receiving area where they have a truck loading dock. I was then able to load it onto a friend's pickup truck without any lifting.
I had just been given some free 4*8 MDF, so I made a ramp around eight feet long, supported by two 2*4's on the side and around 25" wide. My son-in-law had a four-wheel dolly that handles 1000 pounds. This made getting it off the pickup truck and into my workroom rather easy.
I did the assembly myself, and it probably took six hours out of my Saturday. The hard part is getting everything level and in plane using multiple clamps and support boards as other reviewers have indicated.
I agree with a couple of other reviews that the side extension table is bowed in the middle. You can't help but have a ridge next to the cast steel table on the RH side. This causes the fence to stick at this point, so you have to lift it slightly. I then noticed the three threaded holes on the RH side of the cast end. I had a small piece of " wood doweling. I used this as a wedge in the middle of the extension table and was able to move the wood table up to be level with the cast table. The threaded holes are covered around half way from the thickness of the wood table, so the wedge idea worked perfectly. Not sure why the threaded holes are there, but if you were planning on using them to secure the wood extension, you would have to cut part of the wood bracing underneath to gain full access to them. I think you would still have a hard time bringing the table into plane without some wedge idea. Let's see how long my idea lasts.
Fired up the saw and realized I have a true professions piece of equipment compared to my Sears Contractor series that is around 10 years old.
You may want to read my review on the Delta Out feed table, and read those directions thoroughly. You don't have to take any pieces off of the saw once you have it together other than the motor cover. If you are planing the out feed table, leave the motor cover off temporarily. I was ready to remove the rear support rail until I realized the directions are very vague at this point.
This is my first Delta product. I have a Jet jointer and planner, but I am very happy with the fit and finish of the Delta saw. I found nothing I could complain about other than some poor assembly directions. Like telling you to wait before tightening the front fence support, but never telling you when to do it. Obviously, it turns out once you start to level the extension table it's time!

Unisaw package that answers all my needsI purchased the Delta 36-L31X-BC50 X5 3HP Left Tilt Unisaw with 50" Biesemeyer Fence as a gift to myself for Christmas. This made it easy for my wife and kids to shop for me; all they needed to do was get me table saw accessories! Almost two months later, I'm still like a kid with a new toy.
42 years ago I had my first experience with a Delta Unisaw in High School woodworking class. For four years while in woodshop, I never really considered the quality of the shop machinery we had back then. It was taken for granted that all machines were good. I was privileged to have a GREAT woodshop teacher (Bruce Kelly) and wonderful (Delta) tools at hand. I made a Grandmother clock and stereo cabinet that took state honors back in the sixties. My present profession as a remodeling contractor allows me to buy tools as I need them. When it came to table saws, bench top and contractor saws made the most sense, but the quality required in cabinet making took some real doing. Now after 25 years in the business, I wanted to get back to my dream of cabinet making once again.
Spending close to two thousand dollars on a saw was a hard decision. Which one do I buy? I talked to fiends in the business and visited several local shops for advice. I originally planned on the five horsepower model and was told by others that three horsepower was more than enough unless doing production work. Although more professional equipment was in use in the bigger shops, still there was a 10" table saw available for general use, and 9 out of 12 shops had a Delta Unisaw.
This Unisaw is by far better than I remembered it some 40 years back. After setup, (about 8 hours of time), I plugged her in. The soft purr of the motor spinning a Woodworker II blade was music to my ears. No vibration and the setup and fine adjustments needed are nothing compared to the quality of the cuts made with this saw. The dust shoot works well and the stable mobile base that was included with my saw makes placement AND storage quite easy. As with many products over time, quality sometimes suffers. Not with this saw! I know there have been several corporate owners of Delta, and I know there was a period of dissatisfaction on quality. My opinion is that Delta has their act together on the manufacturing once again and the statements in earlier posts, I feel, are not substantiated.
With a Biesemeyer fence (now a subsidiary of Delta), Delta outfeed table that folds flat against the saw, removable splitter and overhead blade guard, this setup is just what I needed. I'm quite happy!

Delta X5 Delivers Great Cuts Once Your Setup Is CompleteOur 36-L31X-BC50 X5 arrived in excellent condition. After reading all the user reviews and warnings about setup, my woodworking buddy and I finished the job in a little over three hours. Since Delta shipped two right-side wings, we couldn't figure our why there was no drilled hole for the magnetic switch on the left wing. Fortunately when you put a right wing on the left side it sticks up at least 1/32, prompting you to contact Delta for a new left wing. Once the correct wing arrived and was installed, you realize they sent two right wings. Everything fits perfectly now, and the fit and finish are excellent. Delta's customer service was outstanding, easy to talk to, and used plain english. Our replacement piece arrived within five business days. The fence went on perfectly, and was aligned in less than ten minutes. The extension table has a dip in the middle, and we will shore it up at some point but it does not detract from the functionality of the saw.
We installed a new Forrest WoodCutter II Thin Kerf blade on the X5 and put the stock X5 blade on our radial arm saw. The blade was perfectly aligned in less than fifteen minutes, and neither of us had ever done it before.
We've had the saw for about four months, and the precision of our cuts still amazes us. It is virtually vibration-free and passes the nickel test every time. The only thing the Biesemeyer fence needs is a magnifying spot over the graded markings so us oldsters with reading glasses don't have to squint to see the 1/32nd marks. OK, so I'm only 48 but a magnifyer would still be quite helpful!
The stock X5 blade is performing quite nicely, I might add. I do recommend the Forrest blade as it has reduced my sanding time on the cutting edges to nearly zero. It's that smooth.
We have declined to install the blade guard. We are ready for a dado insert to expand the use of our saw.
Other saws considered: The similarly priced General 350-T50 M2M (the fence seemed a bit weak, but it is made in Canada there, eh?); the Powermatic WMH1660760K (too pricey for the incremental difference in features); and the Grizzly 1023 (sometimes cheapest is not better in the long run).

This Stapler WorksI planned to install hardwood floor in my 4 bedrooms. I was new to installing floors. My friends recommended to install the floor using Floating method. I did that and it worked but I did not like the feeling of the floor. It was a floating feeling. So, I decided to spend some money and do it right. I purchased a Makita air compressor (Hot Dog), Bostitch N62FNK-2 Finish nailer and a MIIIFS Floor stapler from Amazon.com. Air compressor and Nailer, stapler work great together. I installed one room, no jams and it works like a charm. Compressor keeps up with the demand. I used 3/8" Rubber hose with the compressor. Stapler came in a beatup box. I was concerned about it but when I used the stapler it worked fine from the word go. To install first 2 rows,I used the finish nailer to face nail the planks and then used the stapler. I love the feeling of a solid floor instead of floating it. Every body in the family loves the new floor. Great tools. Highly recommended.
Bostich Floor StaplerBefore I purchased the Bostich Floor Stapler, I rented one for three days. It worked so good I decided to buy one. I have only used it to lay about 900 sq. ft. of white ash hardwood flooring and it worked great. I have not had a jam, and the only times that it didn't put the staple all the way in, was my fault. I hadn't hit the stapler hard enough with the mallet. I know the staples work good because pulling a board up that was already stapled is not easy. But when you get the board up, the staples can be removed and the board can be reused. Needless to say, I am quite happy with the purchase.
saving your backI am not a flooring professional. I laid my floor with a carpenter. Personally I've never used a manual nailer, but he says it's a major back saver, which when you do the math (20-30lbs versus 4lbs of hammering pressure) makes a lot of sense. As to tongue splitting, lower the pressure (the stapler works great with my tiny and very light senco compressor) and--does it really matter? You can get really close to the wall, which means very little face nailing.
staples vs. nails--don't really have any comment. but this tool works well. We laid australian cyprus--which is a hard soft wood, harder than red oak.

For what it is, a great sawI bought this saw to do about 40 feet of edge cuts on floor tile with a few misgivings after reading the reviews here. However, having finished the job, I found nothing to complain about.
I cut 12"x12" slate tile which, while too big to allow use of the fence guide, was just fine with this saw. I haven't used a "professional" wet saw, but just made sure the water reservoir was full before each cut, and slowly pushed each tile through the blade, making sure I wasn't pushing hard enough to slow down or bind the motor.
I marked a line on each tile where I needed to cut, lined up the blade with one end of the line, checked with a straightedge against the blade to make sure I had the correct angle, turned on the saw, and started slowly pushing. The saw cut straight and true each time.
From reading the other reviews, I think you just need to buy this saw understanding that it's a lower-power, do-it-yourself oriented saw. It won't cut as quickly or as easily or as large as a more professional saw, but as long as you don't force it to do too much, it does just fine. I finished my cuts in a couple of days and they all turned out fine, even the two tiles where I had to make two right-angle cuts to get around a wall.

A great saw for under $100I bought this saw for cutting 2x2 mosaic tile for a bathroom. I also wanted to something to cut the marble threshold for this room as well. For this project, I needed to make many cuts to fit the pieces of tile adjacent to one walls. I like to use a score/snap tile cutting tool when possible, but for small tiles or complex cuts, a wet saw does a much better job.
The saw performed very well. It cut slower than I thought it should, but still produced great cuts. I used this to cut a marble threshold that was about 1.5 inches thick and it did this much better than I expected. My biggest problem was cuttings getting under the fence making it hard to move. I didn't find this saw louder or messier (all wet saws are loud and messy) than others I've used.
If you're a DIYer, this is an excellent choice and better than renting. Understand you won't get the hot-knife-cutting-butter performance of a $500 saw, but if you take your time and cut slowly you'll get nice clean cuts.

Can't complain any moreI'm completely convinced that this is a great tile saw for small home improvement task after cutting ~250 l.f. of ceramic tiles for remodeling the kitchen and three bathrooms. The saw is still making cuts as if they were the first ones.
However, I do have several comments based on this experience.
1. The border of the Diagonal Cutting Guide could be thinner to make good use of already limited working surface.
2. Putting some measuring marks on the Adjustable Cutting Guide to help make L-shaped cuts.
3. A clear Adjustable Blade Guard would make partial cuts easier.

WetterWashington reviewsA solid design, easily an order of magnitude better then my old Ryobi.
I can't wait to use this on a real project!I am new to woodworking so I don't know how much weight my review will carry. In any case, I purchased this item from Lowes this past weekend for $359. I haven't had much time to "play with my new toy", however, I was able to send a piece of Pine through the machine shortly after purchasing it. I haven't used a Planer since Jr High (late 70's) but setting up and using the DW734 was a breeze. This planer is amazing!
How did I live without thisReceived the planer quickly and put it to use the same day. Very little work to set it up and fasten it to a stand. Works exactly as expected. I don't know how I have completed so many projects without one. It's like my nail guns. It makes projects look better and it reduces the effort of producing furniture. I highly recommend it for any woodworker.
