Power Supplies Review Well Balanced
This drill packs alot of power for only 4.9 amps. The tool is very well balanced and very quiet. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the "unremoveable" chuck. The owners manual does not give any instructions on how to remove nor is there any discernable fiting inside the chuck. All in all a good drill with ample power. Remember Makita makes their own motors.

Power Supplies Review The chuck is removable
After breaking the keyless chuck (don't ask). I too was stumped as to how to remove it. I finally decided I had nothing to lose by taking the drill apart. After clamping the broken end of the chuck in a vise, I was able to apply enough force to the gear to unscrew the shaft from the chuck. A new replacement chuck screws back on the same way.

This is a great drill and I'm very pleased with it's performance.

Power Supplies Review Makita HP2010N
I bought the Makita HP2010N back in 1990 and still have and use it today. It has been used extensively in hammer-mode with a 3-5/8" hole saw to cut holes for ceiling pan boxes in oak beams and for overhead drilling on post and beam construction. It will spin a 7/8" X 18" Greenlee Nail Eater in the "High Speed" position repeatedly through 12" solid oak beams with very little effort.
The "chuck is very good and when properly tightened, never seems to let the bit slip even under heavy hammering in masonry. This hammerdrill is heavier than the others I currently own and although it has a " masonry capacity, it is slightly slower to complete holes when drilling in hardened concrete, mostly due to the lower impact of the Makita's hammer mechanism. Because of this, I use it mainly for drilling in hollow concrete block, hard wooden beams or metal, where this drill really excels. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy masonry drilling. A rotary hammer is usually a better choice for that type of work, but a hammerdrill such as this one can also do the job satisfactorily sometimes.
The HP2010N is a very rugged and well made tool. During almost twelve years of very hard, on the job use, the only repairs made have been to replace a worn out trigger switch, brushes (due to normal wear) and a damaged power cord.
I would definitely recommend this tool for anyone who is looking for a very durable, long lasting hammerdrill that will only occasionally be used for drilling in masonry.

Power Supplies Review Great Quality, easy use...except
I've been using this tool every day for the past month for hanging drywall, fastening cement board, putting down decking and installing wood plank flooring. It has performed admirably and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase and use this tool again. For the price it is an excellent value - even when compared with other brands such as DeWalt, Makita, etc.... The "no-slip" depth adjustment is a great feature when you take of the gauge to back out screws - you just put the gauge back on without concern for readjustment, it's always right on.

My only reservation is the adjustment of the depth gauge itself. It becomes noticebly more difficult to use after only a little dust has collected - a frequent occurance with drywall and cement board. I found myself cleaning and lubing this part once a day when it was in constant use. If you're using the tool for the same depth all the time, I suppose this isn't a concern. Other than this one bad tick , the tool is very well made (it's a Milwaukee after all) and very easy to use.

Power Supplies Review Big tool for big jobs
The 6078 grinder/sander with a 9" grinding wheel is a force to be respected! I've used it to clean up welds, cut metal, sand and also to buff out a boat hull. This is a heavy tool, you will feel your arms at the end of the day! Its weight along with the centrifical force generated by the 9" wheel work together to steady the cut. The variable speed comes in handy to match the tool to the job.

Power Supplies Review Good but loud
I really like the performance of the BSV800 but the one thing I
don't like is the noise. It's got the 14hp B&S Vanguard engine
(very good engine) but it sounds like a Mac truck. I've been looking to get a motorcycle muffler for the thing... Performance
wise it's great - I've got a 3200 sf house and it easily runs the
well pump, furnace blower, fridge, furnace exhaust blower and
some room circuits.

Power Supplies Review Samlex SEC 1223 Power Supply
It's compact and quiet. It's RF filtered, which is often important in switching power supplies. Some have complained of RF noise. Not me. I have used mine for several years with a high-end HF transceiver. Check eham.net for additional reviews. The big proplem I have with the Amazon listing is the price ($174.95 or something like that). This unit routinely retails for only $99.95, with sale prices about $10 less.

Power Supplies Review Works out of the box
I purchased this device a few months ago and it is still functioning. Plug it into a Windows XP machine and it just works. I tried firewire, USB 1.0 and USB 2.0. Plug it into Linux (I've tried Knoppix and Fedora Core 3) and it will just work.

My only compliant is that it isn't a quiet drive. But if you can deal with a little bit of churning for the formated 186 GB of storage, it is a good deal.

Please note that I am unable to recommend the included software, as I have no need to install it.

Power Supplies Review Good value for the money.
I bought this sander a couple of weeks ago and I have used it nearly everyday since. I've been building an end table and a couple of different mantle clocks and have given this sander a pretty good workout. The motor is plenty powerful and I haven't noticed any swirl marks even with the 80 grit paper. I have noticed that it is not entirely dustless since it will get some light dust gathering on the base of the tool but nothing floating in the air. For $40 I don't think you can go wrong with this tool.
