So Bad, it's almost funny
adequate, but not idealThe picture does not match the stand - mine is black, and has only one bolt at each anchor point. There were no instructions in the box, but it wasn't hard to figure out. You have to do the bolts up _really_ tight for it to be rigid (I used two wrenches). However, it does hold my saw quite well. I would have preferred rubber feet, as the plastic ones don't offer much friction -- when ripping a board the whole stand sometimes slides across the floor. It's also quite expensive for what it is, especially when you compare to the price of the saw itself.
I like itI found this table very easy to assemble. It is very solid and compact. It will be easy to store and transport. So far so good!!

Think before purchaseHitachi states this sander "includes the most efficient dust collection system in its class." This may be true but not without the punch plate or a home built punch system. It isn't a system unless all the parts are there. Unlike another sander I have, the dust collection holes aren't cut to the outside for use with non-holed sandpaper.
I did use the sander for a project and it worked well but obviously the residual mess was an issue. The sander will now sit unused until I obtain or make a punch system.

It works....I purchased at $44 and soon found out the punch plate is not included. It's a rip, and Hitachi should be forced to suck the pipe for trying to bleed more money from their own consumers. It's not a good way to build brand loyalty. Nevertheless they'll not get a punch plate sale from me I simply punched out the holes in my sheet paper with a small piece of aluminum tubing. The sander itself is a pretty good quality unit. Slightly heavier than my Skil but a bit more aggressive. The grip takes a bit to get used to, but seems normal to me now. My advise, check similar priced sanders and purchase one with a punch plate included.
Not badI recieved this sander with another order as a free gift. This is enough to generally give one pause. However I am pleasantly surprised. Sheet sanders I have used in the past and the old Makita that I have had for years are not the pinnacle of sander technology but this one is fairly smooth running and I found that the shoe plate supplied with my Makita fits this sander for punching holes in the paper. It has much less vibration than the old Makita and seems to work well. Time will tell. This is the first Hitachi product I have owned.

well balanced gunmakita has produced a very comfortable gun to use.I have found it to be quite well ballanced especially when set in the lock on position, so that the trigger finger is on the upper part of the gun. the only draw back is that you have to remove the tip to remove screws. we will have to see how it holds up to the test of time.
Great toolThis tool is a real powerhouse screwgun. I've only been through aboout 15 pounds of screws so far. However, when driving #10-3's into framing lumber or when drivine 1-1/4" 'rock screws, this tool is perfectly happy. The speed takes a little technique to handle, but when it comes, you realize just how much more effecient you become when building. The nose-cap is designed to pop-off for removing screws. I've found this to be very helpful in the unusual case that I have to un-do something. The tool is very durable and it works circles around any battery powered tool. Also, it's lighter than most screwguns so you can handle it all day without problem.
For professionals of the tradeThis tool is the greatest. I've been useing screwguns for 20 years and none can compare to this one. They say the clip breaks, none of mine out of 4 screwguns has. Maybe if some people didn't drop it on the ground the clip woulden't break. It will back out screws in reverse if you push to the side A little when you apply pressure. The speed of this screwgun has allowed me to hang approx 15 more 12' sheets per 8 hour day. It pays for itself very quickly at that rate. This product is the best ever made.

Worked fine until it quitWorked fine for exactly 6 months; then the motor quit. We probably had about 20 hours of use. Will see if Delta fixes it without too much expense on our part (the warranty states that the electric motor may have to be shipped to the mfgr for inspection.)
Poor qualityI got one of these yesterday and immediately took it back. I am a woodworker by hobby and needed to do particular sanding. I found the packaging excellent, but that's where it stops. Yes it sands. The verticle plate in back of the 1" belt was 1/4 inch to the left and cannot be adjusted. It was also bent back 15 degrees and not flush to the belt. The throat is not deep, so, sanding a part of a piece of wood longer that a 10 inches cannot be done. Metal parts were jagged and dangerous, especially the little tables. The miter gauge with the disk sander table is small and wobbled in the miter slot and therefore useless for any specific angle of cut. All in all a very cheesy product. If a straight line or a 90 degree angle is of any interest to a user, leave this product on the shelf.
Great Product!I purchased this sander about three months ago and have had excellent performance come from it. I am amazed at the amount of accessories that are available for this machine. There are many things available for it-from a felt buffing belt to all the little grinding and sanding attatchments that can be used for the accessory flexible shaft, which I own and am very pleased with. The removable belt platen is a very desirable feature, as it allows the user to sand in tight or odd shaped places. The only complaint I have about it is that when I got it home and opened the package, the "body" of the sander was bent, though I am inclined to believe that the problem arose in shipping and handling or at the home improvement store. I ended up returning it for another one that apparently had been stabbed by a forklift(really assuring), but since I took it out of the box and assembled it (which took less than 10 minutes because of the detailed instructions), I have had optimum performance out of it(and as a tip, just use the included hex-wrench in place of a padlock on the switch if you aren't very concerned about young kids). And also, hook a dust collector up to it, as it creates lots of fine dust. Just the quality you'd expect from Delta! Happy woodworking!

Not worthy of MilwaukeeI bought this to replace my 15-year-old Porter-Cable 1/4-sheet palm sander, which lacked a dust bag.
What a letdown. I love my other Milwaukee tools (cordless and corded drills and Sawzall) but this tool is junk. It vibrates so badly that it skips across the surface of the wood. The clamp levers are so weak that one of them bent the first time I used it. And the pad is so flimsy that it was damaged in two places after a half hour of use. The P-C never suffered any such problems.
I've been working wood for over 40 years and have never used such a bummer of a power tool. I think I'll stick with my P-C.

Simply A Great SanderI use palm sanders quite often at work for finishing. Compared to the Dewalt orbital palm sanders, the Milwaukee sander is a pleasure to use. It runs smoothly, has a stronger motor, and is well solidly constructed. I can feel quite a difference in vibration between the DeWalt and this one... after a half hour of using the Dewalt, I end up with tingly hands. This does not occur with the Milwaukee. Milwaukee's paper holding latches hold the paper securely, and never allows movement (again, can't say the same for the Dewalt). Top-notch unit all-around.
RonI've owned this sander for a few months. Therefore, I can't vouch for its long term reliability. I can, however, easily recommend it to anyone looking for a nice finish sander. It's a sweet little machine, fits the hand nicely, has a much better on/off switch than some. The paper attaching clamps work great. Quite simply, it's a pleasure to use.

Needs Improvementbought this unit from a local home improvement center. I took advantage of the 30 day satisfaction guaranty and returned it.
The hook and loop pad came apart after one hour. The sand paper for the profile parts would only last a minute before it wore out. After that it left black rubber marks on my work. It was very uncomfortable to hold. It has a variable speed control on it. I would suggest using Slow! This model does not come with the vacuum hose attachment adapter. I can't believe it is a Porter Cable.
I am going to try a B&D Mouse instead.

My favorite restoration detail sanderDear Fellow woodworkers:
I just purchased a Porter Cable 9444vs detail sander. I was hesitant to buy it because of all the poor reviews. I decided to borrow one before I bought one of my own. I am restoring an old
cape cod & need to do alot of sanding on doors & windows that I have either stripped or burned to remove paint. This tool is perfect for this job. I can get into tight corners. I can slow it down with the variable speed & it is easy to control and does not gouge the work. I must suggest that the other reviewers are
not giving this tool a fair chance. It works quite well on my old
fireplace mantel and inside corners on the old baseboard. It does
a fine job on old exterior window sills where they meet the jambs. Overall I am very happy with this tool, I would recommend
it to anyone, but you must remember to take your time and let the tool do the work. By the way, you can run it for hours and it
does not heat up. Nice job, Porter Cable

Best sander I haveI refinish furniture. I have about 10 sanders that I use to strip and refurbish old pieces of furniture. This sander is my favorite of them all. It gets into places other sanders never dreamed of. The sandpaper rolls that fit the profiles doesn't last long but the heavy duty pre-cut profile sanding sheets do last long. This sander eliminates tons of extra work for the furniture refinisher.

good features weigh out the bad?I recently purchased the new Bosch PB-10 power box job site radio. As a carpenter, I demaqnd a radio that will put up with abuse and dust. The Bosch seems to be suited for that. Also the 4-way GFCI built in is an extremely nice touch. The fact that the radioo will charge batteries as well as run them is a huge plus.. my Milwaukee radio only plays off them.
Now for the bad: The antenna, is a piece of crap flexible wire that is always in the way and does a poor job of reception. I have never had a problem with the flexible rubber antenna on my milwaukee breaking, so why not go that route??? Also, the sound quality is sub-par for a $150 radio! My $89 (rockford-fosgate) Milwaukee will blow this thing out of the water in both sound quality and volume. Definately not what I expected. and lastly, the brightly lit LCD display is nice.. if you are looking at it head on, but since I usually have my radio on the floor, I'd have to do a head stand to see it.... the cool looking protective bars over the LCD do a nice job of obstructing your view.
To Bosch: I really expected more.. come on guys! lets get it right!!!!

poor radio receptionI bought this radio with high expectations that bosch would kick a$$ outa the cheap dewalt on sound and features. The features with the extra receptacles was unnecessary but the sound is excellent with the equalizer settings. BUT the reception on the radio is awfull! You'd have to be next to a radio station tower to get a good signal! Why = NO Antenna! Bosch tech support said that they were working on the poor reception but no fix. Right now this expensive radio is a dust collector. Wish I stuch with the dewalt.
Thumbs up for layout and sound, thumbs down for reception.Plus: Functional layout, nice sound, attractive package.
Minus: Poor reception of anything but powerful local stations. Indoors it gets worse.

Dewalt NibblersTo whom it may concern. I purchased a set of DeWalt Nibblers DW896 2100 spm 16-gauge for my husband. He used them one time cut very little and they acted as if they were dull. He was cutting 29- gauge barn siding. Bought them through Amazon.com and called them and can not return because it is a couple days past their 30-day return policy. what should i do?
OKLAHOMA BUILDER VERY HAPPY WITH DEWALT NIBBLERMy husband purchased a dewalt 16-gauge nibbler about 6 months ago and it has made his job much easier! He had been looking for a tool of this type for a long time. After being told by other's in his line of work what to look for, he decided to purchase one for himself. He has had only good things to say about its use and how much easier it has made his job and about how much faster he can finish a job by using the Dewalt nibbler. He would highly recommend it to anyone that constructs metal barns or puts on metal roofs.

very disappointed...I bought this blade with somewhat high expectations. I figured the cut wouldn't be as smooth as the Freud LU85, which is twice the price, but had to be smoother than the stock 40 tooth blade that came with my bosch 4212L, which it was. One small problem - the blade did not make a straight cut. Every cut I made had a scallop at the entry point of the blade into the material. The blade was straight when checked against a straight edge so the edge must oscillate as it spins. A check with the stock blade and a new Dewalt woodworking blade confirmed that the saw cuts perfectly straight. I definitely won't buy another diablo blade. I would give 5 stars to Amazon for their return policy - they took it back with no issue.
Devil of a bladeI replaced a Freud 80 T ATB blade with this one not long ago. Great performance and clean cuts with minimal splintering or tear out. Check it out.

You only get one 80 grit disc! This little sander is a great item, however the fact that you can only buy the assortment pack and no one seems to carry a five pack of 80 grit discs or a five pack of 120 or 220 grit really ticks me off. You have to buy an assortment pack at $3.99 just to get one 80 grit disc. Why dremel doesn't make the other grits available anymore is beyond me. It seems like a sleezy way to make you buy more discs then you actually need.
Do-It-YourselferNice assortment of grits. If most of the work done with the Contour Sander is done with the contour "bits", a general assortment of hook-and-loop sanding sheets is all that is necessary. Of course, if you are using the detail sander attachment a lot, then you would probably want to purchase a full pack of each grit. Still, this set is good to round out the original kit.
in October of 2001. When I received it, at first I thought
they sent me the wrong stand. No that was the stand alright.
Here is why you may wish to consider avoiding buying this
stand. The stand pictured above is gray and it has two bolts
for each support upper and lower. Mine had one bolt per
support. That in itself would not be a major problem but what
is the problem is that the metal they used is around the
thickness of cheap sheet metal. If you put the stand together
and pick it up it shakes like jello.
The person that wrote the reveiw that liked the stand may have
bought it when perhaps it once was the stand pictured above or
of a better quality.
