Danger! Steer clear of this one.I've owned this drill for a few years and continued to use it (until a few days ago) because I couldn't bring myself to just chuck this thing and start over. Notice, if you will, the trigger used to operate the drill. It's big and sits out in space just waiting to be bumped at the least convenient time, it's also in exactly the spot you want to grab the drill when you change bits. The second danger, and also the reason this drill is now in my garbage can is because there is no clutch. You here that clicking noise? That's not the clutch - it's the gears grinding over what used to be teeth. This weekend was the second time they've stripped out and I'm not going to replace them again. All it takes is a bit to catch wrong (as they often do) and either your wrist or the bit is going to get damaged. WooHoo! Go Milwaukee! ...back to mechanical engineering school that is.
One of the best for tight spaces! I'm a part time builder and find this tool indispensible for installing cabinets (screwing them together especially in narrow cabinets). It just fits where other drills can't or won't go! My buddy has a right angle Makita(cordless) and it just doesn't have enough power to handle maple and hickory.
A couple of things: hand is close to the head so your able to put extra pressure on the screw head and the switch is pulled with your last two fingers (it takes a little to adjust to but when you do it works like a charm); the reverse and forward switch are a little awkward because you have to pull the drill out to switch directions(different from the typical cordless); it has good power; it comes with an all metal good quality chuck, and it just gets where other tools can't!
Obviously, this isn't the first drill I reach for (we usually set up 5 or 6 cordless when installing for..speed) but when used for the purpose it's intended it works very well! (Finally we're starting to see a few cordless right angle drills with 250 - 350 foot pounds of torque - enough to handle the job but this drill competes well and in my case is paid for!)
For what it's worth, Craftsman has an interesting looking corded right angle drill that has the reverse switch similar to the typical cordless drills, but it's head is much larger and it won't fit where the Milwaukee will plus it's difficult to put the same pressure on the head as with the Milwaukee (Bosch and Makita also produce right angle corded drills that might be O.K.). All provide an interesting trade off to the Milwaukee.
Do I like the drill? Yes! Would I buy it again? Absolutely! Of course I've had mine a few years and it should last a number of years!

Have your band-aids readyI was given this as a gift (after asking for a Stanley) and the locking mechanism simply doesn't. The first thing it did was slice open my finger. It made for a lovely Christmas. I wouldn't buy this if I were you; it's not going to save you money in the long run!

two man tape measureThis tape measure is a waste of time, money and effort.I own a half a dozen of these which I bought on a close-out,no returns or refunds. In just a few short weeks 4 of the six broke. That is,their locking mechanism broke, the tapes are still funtional,as long as you have someone to hold the other end.I wrote to the manufacturer, but have heard nothing from them,it's now been over 2 months. The other two tapes are hanging on my shop wall as souveniers and a reminder to never buy a product made by Lufkin again.Pure Junk.

Very Dissapointing DrillI own a number of cordless drills ranging from Porter-Cale to no-name, low-end throw aways. I bought this drill 6 weeks ago for light duty use in my wood shop. With poor run times and a chuck that doesn't hold, I called Makita to complain. They told me it was a good drill but that you get what you pay for and I shouldn't expect much from this product. Quite frankly, neither this drill nor their service meet basic levels and I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

More problems with these batteries. The description says 6 (six) ALKALINE batteries. The picture shows 4 (four) HEAVY DUTY batteries. In case you forgot, "heavy duty" means a carbon-zinc battery which is ancient technology and much less lifespan than an alkaline battery. However, if you want really cheap batteries that don't last very long, it's not a bad price.
Beware of Misleading TitleHeader says alkaline, but picture and product description are not alkaline. If they are not alkaline, they won't last nearly as long and will go stale on the shelf without even being used; unlike real alkaline batteries.

Not worth itI actually picked this up at my local tool store. I needed a blade to rip some plywood cleanly and the price was right. I thought that with this blade I could avoid the hassle of my corded circular saw.
As I was purchasing this, the salesman raised his eyebrows and expressed some doubt about the blade. He was right.
The thing ended up being virtually useless. The cuts took forever and the saw screeched like a stuck pig as I tried to push it through the plywood.
To be fair, I guess it is possible that the problem resides with my particular PC cordless circular saw (it's refurbished) and that the problem is not the blade. However, given that the person I bought the blade from had expressed doubts, I think it's the blade.

Waste of moneyNot sure if mine is a factory defect or if it's just under powered. It can't run a small 2.5 hp compressor and skill saw at the same time. This isn't a problem for other generators over 5000 watts. I'm bringing it in to the dealer tomorrow to see if it's a defect. Very disappointed

Forget the storage caseI bought this saw just to have a handy second saw in the garage. I figured the storage case would be handy, as it would be on the shelf most of the time. The storage case is pathetic. It takes longer to figure out how to put the saw back into the case than it does to go out to the shop and get my other saw. I'd give the case a negative star, the saw is about a 2 star.
