Safety Equipment Review A MUST for College students
These are a lifesaver! I couldn't survive my first yar of college without them. You see, I live in a co-ed dormitory and there are a;ways drunk people making lots of noise well into the wee hours of the morning and girls yelling at their boyfriends on the phone right outside of my door. I couldn't sleep more than three hours a night my first week of college. Then i bought these babies! I couldn't hear anything with these on. The reason i gave these only 4 stars was because for the first month i wore them, i got really bad ear/headaches because they're so tight.

Safety Equipment Review Awesome hearing protection with myriad uses
I bought these for a hardcore metal concert in Wichita. I was tired of earplugs falling out while I was in the mosh pit and then being unable to hear anything out of the unplugged ear for the next day after the show. These babies are snug and stay where you put them. They did get jostled off my ears while I was moshing a few times, but they're big enough to put right back on and not get lost. They're very comfortable-- I was able to wear them over my baseball cap just fine. They're also nice when I need to study for school and the rest of my family is being their loud selves. And when I was cutting some sheet metal for my computer case customization project, they worked great to muffle the saw noise too.

If you've ever, even ONCE, been annoyed by how loud something is, you owe it to yourself to buy these. They're pretty inexpensive and they'll last you a long time.

Safety Equipment Review Very Streamlined
This looks so much better than the scuba diving style goggles that most people relate to when one thinks of safety glasses. It looks streamlined instead of big & chunky. Although it's far from stylish, it's pretty darn good for a pair of safety galsses. The price is also very attractive.

Safety Equipment Review Believe the hype
These really do fit well. My cap size is 7 1/4 and they fit perfectly. Super clear and they wrap completely around the eyes providing ample protection. I haven't used them yet, so I don't know much about their durability (which probably isn't long @ $4.00).

Safety Equipment Review kick but safety glasses
Super duper price, excellent fit and adjustability. The wrap around fit is great as well. Great buy for me. I also bought the tinted one, a little too dark for my taste but still worth it. I highly recommend these Safety Glasses, I even use mine while cleaning the house, cooking, etc. I love my eyes.

Safety Equipment Review Not perfect, but very nice
I wish these had a cheap digital tuner, rather than a very sensitive analog one. That is the only drawback of these units. They are comfortable to wear and reduced noise well (22 dB). The radio volume is limited to a safe level, but is loud enough to really hear. Lowes had these for ten dollars less than listed here.

Safety Equipment Review These are GREAT!
Hi,
I received these last christmas as a gift, and usually do not write reviews on products, but these headphones are AWESOME!
I do all kinds of yardwork and it blocks out ALL the noise that is there but still lets you comfortable listen to AM/FM radio!
I actually do MORE yardwork than I ever did before becuase of these suckers, and it also blocks out noise from your nagging wife and child when you are doing work inside and just want to not hear anything...
Great for landlords.. Sorry tenants, Can't hear you, Im listening to Michael Savage baby!

Great product!

Safety Equipment Review WorkTune Radio makes mowing less of a chore
As I've been getting older, now 36, I am beginning to notice that noises bother the heck out of me more. This year the noise of my riding lawnmower was driving me insane as allergies are extremely bad this year as well. I asked my wife to buy this for me for father's day. It works great, I no longer am bothered by the noise of the riding mower or push mower. The only complaint is that the tuning knob is to small and that it is hard to fine tune in a station. Also, once a station is tuned in, it gradually fades out, and you have to retune. But this is better than nothing. And hopefully, I am saving my hearing with its usage.

Safety Equipment Review Panel work made easy...
I give this saw five stars now considering all factors and leaving some emotion out. I bought the saw because of space constraints in my shop trying to handle and cut large panels on my table saw without any help. That, and at the time I was getting ready to start on my kitchen cabinets.

I set the saw up and added my additional options of wheels, stand, extensions and Quick-stop guage. Probably due to something during shipping, my saw would not cut a straight line. It was off by nearly 3/32" over a 48" cut (I cannot believe Safety Speed Cut would crate it up and ship it when it was off by that much). After making the first few test cuts, I thought I was going to have to cut pieces oversized and then trim to square on the table saw, but after reading the manual and making some adjustments this was not the case.

So here is why I still gave it five stars.

The instruction manual was very thorough and clearly explained how to check for square if your cuts were off. They walk you through every possible option and even explain how to make up a large tri-square to dial the saw back into square. After making up the large tri-square (at some additional expense) the saw was very easy to adjust and before long I had the saw cutting square straight pieces for my cabinets.

This saw makes handling large plywood sheets easy, and with less effort and fatigue compared with a table saw, you can have 10 sheets cut down to size in no time at all. The optional Quick-stop guage makes repetitive cuts quick and accurate - great for cabinet sides, backs etc.

So, other than a slight initial alignment problem, the saw has been one of the best additions to my shop. I am considering adding the dust collection option in the future and my only observation there is that it is a fairly high dollar option ($347) for something so necessary. In my opinion, this should be standard on all of the saws instead of an accessory.

Another plus in choosing this saw over a 3HP cabinet saw is that you can use standard 110V power versus adding a 220V circuit for your cabinet saw.

If you work with large sheets often, I highly recommend this saw especially if you have a smaller shop. If you have room to spare, you might consider the H-4 saw which is what I originally wanted but could not get into my shop.

Safety Equipment Review panel saw
I have found this saw to be very accurate, and easy to use. I have owned it for about a year, and use it far more than I though I would. It makes it very easy to cut a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. It is however not very portable. I ussually measure up what I need to cut at the job site, and take the work to my shop.

Safety Equipment Review Great saw... No regrets!
This is a scaled down version of the panel saws used at most lumberyards and home centers. I have had mime for about a year and really depend on it now. Before, I had to struggle with large sheets on the table saw, which usually required the help of a second person. Now, I can manage these easily by myself. The saw was delivered factory adjusted for precision cuts. I highly recommend purchasing the optional wheels, extensions and stand unless you plan on mounting it in a permanent location. I use mine in the garage and wheel it out when weather permits. On the downside, the material rollers are made of plastic and could presumably break if a heavy sheet such as melamine was to drop on them. Also, it is sometimes difficult to switch the saw from crosscut to rip mode as sawdust particles build up between the rotating plates causing them to bind. I have tried silicone spray in this area but it doesn't seem to last. Overall however, I feel this was an excellent investment.

Safety Equipment Review Great Gloves, Period.
The price of these is lower than most of their competitors, so you'd think there might be a reason. But frankly, these are the best gloves I've worn. They're comfortable, dextrous, and really stand up to the abuse I've given them.

The hard synthetic-leather patches never feel like they limit my handle on things, but keep both the gloves and my hands from getting splinters or or other shards stuck in them.

I love the little terry-cloth bit on the back of the thumb (where I don't get much wear anyway) perfect for wiping dust and grime off my face. It's the little things.

They're hard to find in the local hardware stores nowadays. Not sure why, I love these things. Granted, if you're going to mostly be doing auto-work, you probably want to look at the Mechanix line of gloves, which are suited specifically for that use (and you can't argue with Nascar pit crews). But for tougher jobs, wood, masonry, whatever, these are great.

Hands-down, a great pair of gloves.

Safety Equipment Review These Gloves FIT!
I am 6'6" tall. I have hands the size of small canoe paddles. On most XL gloves the fingers are about 1/2 to 3/4 as long as my fingers. These gloves fit. They are extremely comfortable. They seem to have a great balance between toughness and dexterity. I just used them to put up a fence, really splintery wood, no splinters. I was able to easily retrieve screws, nails etc from my tool belt. I will definately buy them again!

Safety Equipment Review BEST BUY I CAN FIND
I am a carpenter in Yonkers and I have tried everyone of these new kinds of gloves in the last few years. Mechanix, BucketBoss, Ringers, Ironclad, MechPro and Craftsman. None of them last as long as the General Utility by Youngstown. If you are going to pay $20 for a pair of gloves they better last. And I have been happy with these!

Safety Equipment Review These do the job!
I am a software developer and work from the home.
I have 3 small kids. These 'headphones' let me stay sane and
get some work done.
I am wearing them right now. I can hear a distant muffled screaming from my 1 year old. Doesn't bug me at all.
Enough Said! I am now thinking of getting the
same type of thing, but with a radio on it.

Safety Equipment Review Great for shooting
I use these on the pistol range. Very effective and a great item for the price.

Safety Equipment Review I'm impressed!!!
I bought this kit for the reciprocating saw. To say I was skeptical about the circular saw would be an understatement. I can honestly say I'm impressed. The recriprocating saw didn't dissappoint, and the circular saw was used to build a deck. It took on 4x4's and 2x8's without binding. The batteries were quick to charge and held the charge for many cuts.

Though it wasn't designed to be a 115v plug in saw, it has plenty of power and is handy as a pocket on your shirt.

Safety Equipment Review Ultimate cordless
I have the Dewalt 24 Volt saw and sawsall, they worked good for the first six months, after that I could not depend on them to go on jobs with me without wired tools as back up. I have had the Hitachi combo for few months and they are much better tools than the dewalt 24 volts. The saw has the biggest blade on the market( 7 1/4 "), it weighs less than my Porter cable electric saw, and it is very comfortable to use. It has a luminated cutting area also, it comes in handy when you are working indoors.
The sawsall is very compact and powerful, you can control the speed thru the trigger. The price of these tools are cheaper than the Dewalts and they are superior tools.
P.S. The Hitachi Green is a nice break from the yellow, red, and grey colored tools out there.

Howard Leight QB1 Hearing Band
Made by Howard Leight
    Amazon base price: $
Average review score: Safety Equipment Review

    Safety Equipment Review Extremely Good
I went to the manufacturer sight and bought almost every one of their hearing band types and this one is the best. It is the most comfortable and provides very good protection. If you are looking for a band, after trying about half a dozen, I can say this one is the best for woodworking. I wore this while shooting some guns as well and I would get a "regular" inner ear foam and the headset style on top of that for that specific application. The band alone (any band) is not enough protection for loud guns, but is fantastic for power tools.

    Safety Equipment Review Great product.
The Howard Leight QB1 HYG earband is one of the most comfortable and functional hearing protection devices I have ever used. Unlike the QB2 and QB3, the QB1 inserts INTO the ear canal for improved dB blocking (around 27 I think it is rated for), rivaling its bulkier ear muff competitors. The light weight and pressure free design are preferable to someone like me who finds the pressure on temples and earlobes of ear muff very uncomfortable. The earband design serves to make putting them on and off in an intermittently noisy environment easy. I wear mine right around my neck all day at work. The disposable plugs are even washable and relatively durable for many days of use, and the whole product is cheap enough for anyone to afford.

There are really only 2 downsides. First there is the dirt factor. Since the plugs insert into the ear canal you need to be extra careful to keep them clean. Secondly, while the band itself is very durable, the blue caps which attach to the band, which the plugs attach to, have a tendency to snap. This problem, however, is remedied in the fact that all replacement plugs come with a brand new pair of these blue caps, which are very easy to remove and attach to the band.

Safety Equipment Review Worth Every Penny
At nearly $10,000 you might think this is a bit on the high side price-wize but let me tell you...

While frying Spam last week I looked away just long enough for some greese to splash up on my black velvet Elvis (Hawaii Tour) and POOF! up in flames...the entire double-wide was about to go when I grabbed my Kidde 440130 Kitchen/Garage 2-B:C Fire Extinguisher. Zip-Zap-Woosh..fire out home is saved.

$10,000 well spent. Besides, after buying it I found the same unit for $14.95 on another site so with the 10% difference price match I can buy a new Elvis painting and that plasma TV Ive been eyeing. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Safety Equipment Review A lil Pricey, but so worth it!
I love this ten thousand dollar fire extinguisher.

Granted, I had to take out a second mortgage, but I'm sure that its worth it in the long run. Imagine the horror of having to call the insurance company to explain that my kitchen burned down. I'd rather just avoid that altogether.

I'm going to buy another one as soon as I can qualify for another loan.
