Excellence!I had thought my gardening days were over - my knees just hurt too badly after only a few minutes of kneeling. Nothing helped! This knee cushion is fantastic! I can get all my outdoor work done AND now have a second cushion for my indoor cleaning use! My first cushion is still in heavy use =5 years old - in no way compressed and supports my old knees wonderfully!
Birkenstock pad does for knees, what Birkenstock shoes do for feet. Support & comfort. This has got to be the best kneeling pad around! I have arthritis, and my Birkenstock knee cushion makes it possible to be on my knees again. The pad has a comfortable supportive firmness. The scooped indentations give a cupping affect for each knee. With more of the knee in contact with a firm surface, weight is distributed across more of the knee instead of only a portion of your kneecap. When I found out how great it is, I bought a second. Since then I've been buying/giving them for gifts. It's always a hit.
Great, Great, Great ...Extremely comfortable knee cushion to use on tile floors like the other reviewer stated. I use it while giving my son a bath and it really saves my knees. I was using another product that you sit on but I found that kneeling is still the position I use most often for my 8 month old. I am so glad I got it but I wish there were more color choices since I am not strictly using it for gardening and I keep it in my blue and white bathroom. The color is such a minor thing overall because this is a great knee cushion and seems very durable.

Very comfortable knee padsI ' have worn lots of different pads but these are top comfort. The strap at first appeared to be awful short but within 2 uses became no issue.
The caps were not removable as the ad states. It was not a big deal but if you were planning on using them for finer finish work the cap is a little course. I did contact Amazon and they said they were aware of the problem but it had yet to be resolved.
So far the comfort is great and they grab your knee to hold it in place and not roll, you almost have to remember what a pain the other pads were. Change the ad so people know not to expect the removable cap. Other wise great.

OK so farThese are comfortable and stay in place. I'm a bit worried if the elastic bands will hold up but so far...so good.
Excellent For Us Babyboomers With Bad KneesI purchased these after reading the previous owner reviews and after trying out a cheaper brand. I am glad to say I made a great comeback choice. I usually do not wirite product reviews, but these kneepads are awesome and deserve praise!
I am laying a new brick flowerbed retainer wall for my wife, which requires working below ground level for the footing and first course of bricks. These Fiskars pads provide excellent protection and do not choke the back of your knees thanks to the oversize, overwidth, velcro connection straps. I have bad knees from years of athletic and work-related abuse. These pads allow me to do harsh gardening and household projects with as much comfort as can be expected for an aging babyboomer. And, the price is almost inconsequential when you consider what you are getting. I highly recommend them.

"Presidential" ... LOL!!!Okay, that was clever!
I love these things. I thought I could skimp and not use knee pads out in the garden, but boy was I wrong. If you're going to be spending any amount of time on your knees (be it the garden or the Oval office...*cackle*), do yourself a favor and buy these.

not badThey stay in place pretty well, although the neoprene makes the back of your legs sweat a bit. They also don't slide around on slippery floor surfaces. Pretty good setup, but expensive.
great qualityPurchased these knee pads for my husband and he loves them. These have what he has been looking for for about a year.

What happened to the originals?Bought a pair about 2 years ago that I loved. The quality of the construction on these has declined terribly. They are flimsy and are not actually the same pair of pads as they are advetised to be.
Perfect 4 so cheap!I am a cabinet maker and yes I do installs so were on our knees all the time. I was looking for a new pair of pads when I came upon these. First thought "To Cheap" 2nd. Thought, "what the heck there cheap".
These are the BEST knee pads I have ever owned! There are super comfortable, don't end up around your ankles (wearing them over pants right now), don't cut off the circulation or hurt the back of the knee, light weight, one strap easy on easy off. Buy em'! I got 4 so I could get free shipping. I gave a set to my guys no complaints only praise. So don't let the price scare you off.

Very comfortableI agree with the Seattle reviewer's remarks. In addition:
These pads are much more comfortable than the WM brand I bought last Spring ... those had 2 straps which dug into the back of my knees at the bending point and caused minor chaffing and scrapes (bled a little actually). These pads only have 1 strap, which fasten with velcro comfortably; not tightly like the wm pads. And, like the other reviewer said you forget they're on.
I recommend these knee pads. I use them for outdoor garden and landscape work mainly. Just finished an edging project and didn't have any sorness like the wm ones I started out with.

DisappointingIt is hard to avoid the conclusion that the people who designed these knee pads never wear knee pads. They are very disappointing, although it would be very simple to make them better. The problem is that the curve of the knee pad is very shallow, and the gel pack is a single pack, not molded to the shape of a knee. Consequently, the knee rolls around on the pad which is almost as hard on the knee as not wearing pads. If the gel pack were shaped so as to cup the knee snugly, they would be fine. As it is, they are little better than a simple pair of pads that I bought for $9.00 in the garden store.
Not for meContrary to the other reviews I couldn't use these. I am used to well contoured foam filled knee pads that stay put. I was looking forward to the ultimate with the new gel backing. Sadly the gel is put in as simple pillows and sewn around the edges. This fills what appears to be a very well made and contoured shell with mounds of gell, which I kept rolling off of, with my knees ending up to the side on the sewn seams. I tried everything but couldn't correct this. Since I can't work without pads [all day] I went back to the old ones and sent the gel pads back. Reluctantly. It wouldn't take much to contour the gel to solve this and they would be wonderful. I noticed at least one of the other reviewers mentioned slipping off to the side also. Great idea, not well engineered
Gift for Dad who has almost everythingMy Dad went into landscaping late in life and it's a job he loves. He also loves all the toys that go with it. Minus the knee pads he could never find a pair that stayed up or in place.
Or that the rocks didn't pierce the gel and for that part his knees. Every day he uses his knee pads theres a call on my machine how much he loves them. They're truly a wonderful product if they can withstand the torment of my dad. He uses them on cement to gravel. He even uses them to weed in to ease the pressure on his knees. There a great product. Not comfortable or durableI was disappointed by the uncomfortable fit of these knee pads. When wearing the pads with shorts, the rubber straps tended to slip down my legs. I nearly had to give myself a tourniquet to get the pads to stay where I wanted them! The limited adjustment range did not help, either: the straps have belt-like holes in them and hook onto posts on the pads, so you end up with straps that are either too loose or too tight. They were so uncomfortable that I only wore them once and then bought a (better) set of pads with cloth straps and Velcro closures.
The pads themselves were also not nearly as rugged as I expected them to be. The outer pad is a soft, pliable rubber that I would expect to be easily damaged by rocks, protruding nail heads, or pretty much any hard or sharp protrusion from the ground/floor. The pads that I have now are constructed with a much harder outer shell that is also not supposed to mar hardwood floors and similar (relatively soft) surfaces.
Based on the uncomfortable fit and poor choice of outer pad material, I give these pads two stars out of five. I would have given them one star, except that they did provide good cushioning once I was on my knees.
best available, but should be betterI have owned several pair of these and have found them to be the best product on the market. They are fairly comfortable, easy to use, and durable. The straps will wear out along withh the buttons that hold them on. I have carpenters that wear them every day all day, and they last about year at most. The padding holds up very well, and does not compress. I would have given them a five star rating except for the fact that there should be better products available. It is the 21st century after all. These are by far the best value around. My carpenters refuse to wear any thing else.
Excellent Knee Pads: Super ValueTheses are the 3rd set of Barwalt Ultra Light Knee Pads for Me. The first pair lasted 4 years. I didn't need another pair, but I couldn't pass up the price. They are light weight. Soft exterior won't scratch even polished marble. Pads are completely washable. Soft rubber straps have six different adjustments. Awesome soft interior protects knees from even hard rough surfaces. I love them!

Kneepads for an elephantThe knee pads are nice except they are fitted for an elephant.. I'm avarage size and have to adjust the pads so 80% of the velcro strap hangs forward. If they moved the strap back 2 inches it would be great and fit 95% of men.. I say men because they would never fit the average or slighly above average woman.
Best Knee Pads Available I'm a tile setter with very sensitive knees and these are the best knee pads available. They do have some drawbacks such as the size, they're very large and look dorky but they are very soft on the knees and you don't have to balance on them because of the shape of the cap like other knee pads.
Until I find a better knee pad I'll be using these.
