Suspenders Review Better than ordinary suspenders
I am one of those potbellied guys that needs a pair of suspenders to keep his britches up. Sidewinders are a great improvement! The design keeps the straps from falling off your shoulders as you move around. They are off to the side so the straps do not rub against your shirt pockets. With the clips on the side, they do not poke into you when you sit in a chair and they do not rip the seat in your truck. This is really a better mouse trap.

Suspenders Review Alaskan
I loved this design of suspenders all the time I was in the military. I had never seen a civilian model before I bought these. They are even better than the military version. The best feature of these suspenders is that when nature calls in the woods, you can drop your trou' without loosing the ends of your suspenders up over your shoulders.
These suspenders remain comfortable even when holding up water logged wool trousers.

Suspenders Review Serendipity
The Sidewinder suspenders' design is the answer for a wide segment of the population of men that have difficulty keeping pants up and not exposing the top portion of their [rear] and suffering undue pressure from "normal", non-elastic suspender design on shoulders causing pain that radiates down... my husband was dubious when I asked him to try a pair for just one day of work - he's up & down milk tank ladders, in & out of his truck countless times plus he bags test boxes then lifts & arranges them in the truck bed...

We hitched him up and upon his arrival home that night he stated he was sold... the design works... no shoulder pressure or pain, in fact, he'd forgotten they we even there...

After about a week, I noticed that the toothed snaps were eating away the denim waistband, so I made two denim straps... each wraps around my husband's belt and works splendidly plus saves his jeans that extra wear 'n tear...

Thank you Bucket Boss!!!

Suspenders Review Not your Father's suspenders
I didn't have any experience with work suspenders before. I ordered these suspenders along with the McGuire-Nicholas 112c 2" suspenders. Both are great heavy-duty suspenders with big, beefy shiny nickel-plated clips that clamp tight and have wide straps. These came about two weeks later than the other. Both worked great to hold up a fully loaded tool belt and take a strain off while you worked. These are padded and make them more comfortable. Buy one and you'll wonder why you didn't get it earlier. I do

Suspenders Review Bulldogs
I didn't have any experience with work suspenders before. Took a chance on these - they were cheap enough. These are great heavy-duty suspenders with shiny nickel-plated 50-pound clips, not your Father's cheap, thin, tinny suspenders. The straps are wide, strong and the clips are big, beefy and clamp tight. Works great to hold up your fully loaded tool and take a strain off you while you work. Treat yourself. I'm glad I did.

Suspenders Review Could Do Better.... From a Pro. Framing Carpenter.
Because pouches are widely attached at each end....contents spill when crouching or bending. Contents of large nail pouch partially blocked by immovable tape pouch. More stitching needed on quick square slot...as mine quickly unraveled leading to second nail pouch droop. Would Not buy again.

Suspenders Review much cheaper alternative
Before spending the money on Occidental you should take a look at www.skillers.com . They have a very innovative system of work wear which may be right for you. I was considering one of the occidental systems but the price was concerning me. A similar system is available from Skillers for less than half the price. Before you decide, just visit Skillers.com .

Suspenders Review Best on the market
These are the best belts on the face of the earth, as far as I am concerned. Where I live in California, Occidental is the industry standard for construction workers' tool belts. This belt in particular is great. Tons of room. I have had them for over 3 1/2 years, and there are no threads coming loose, no nail pouches drooping. The big pocket on the left is partially blocked by a pouch above it, but it is not a problem. I stuff all of my gun nails in the pocket, and they are still very accessible, and the pouch above it works great for a 30' tape. They are quite bulky, and many times when I am hoping down from between trusses or joists, the pouches get caught and dump their contents, so I would not recomend them for a trim carpenter or a remodeler, where you can't scratch or bump into stuff around you. Other than that, if you are looking for a real set of bats, look no further.

Suspenders Review Will Keep You Wet
I really get a lot of enjoyment wearing my Occ.5055, great weight distribution on the shoulders, and adds to the "professionalism". One problem wearing such a rig in sunny southern Calif. Is that it has a tendency to draw out excessive moisture from your body, the "yoke" covers a great deal of you back and after wearing it the first few consecutive days I developed a skin rash dead center of my back and on my front shoulders. Aside of this, I still wear it cause it's hard to find a alternative system with the same "qualities". As for the "rivets" stop by any hobby shop and pick up a few extras or do like I did, use large "aluminum" pop rivets to pin down your bags/holsters.

Suspenders Review Very comfortable. Can't work without them anymore.
I bought these in 2000. Still using the original set. They've held up really well. I'd never used suspenders before I got this and didn't know what a difference they made. Now I can't wear the bags without them. I have them permanantly fastened to my belt. The leather loops moved around too much for me. One tip for prospective buyers: After the wearing in period recommended in the instructions, use some thread locking compound on the post screws. You will lose them if you don't. When you do lose them, fear not! You can buy replacements at better hardware stores for about 55 cents each. I carry a couple spares. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Suspenders Review If only more products worked this well....
I'll admit it--I'm a snake-hipped electrician. You've all seen it before: toolbelt working the pants down towards the knees, tidy whities riding high. It's not a pretty sight. I had tried the usual suspenders that can't take the load, always get in the way, and come unclipped at a strong glance. When I first heard about the Stronghold suspension system, I was definitely interested--if a little leery of the $70 price tag. That's almost what I had invested in my whole toolbelt.
Well, I took the leap and boy howdy am I glad I did. The workmanship is first rate, the materials are hard-core solid, and the design is impeccable. I've had my Strongholds for almost three years of daily use now, and they are still going strong.
The padded yoke distributes the bag's weight evenly across my shoulders, even when the bags are unevenly loaded. I can leave my belt unsnapped in the front for greater ease of movement or easy shedding, and my tools are still right at hand. There's a heavy duty hanging ring conveniently located on the padded yoke, so I can set a nail in a stud and hang the whole affair up off the ground at lunch time. Like another reviewer, I find the chest strap the perfect place to hang my cel phone.
My toolbelt has velcro on the belt that keeps the individual bags in place, so I had no problems with the supplied four beltloops sliding, unlike other reviewers. I'm glad I used the beltloops, as it allows me to disassemble the entire belt for rearranging pockets or washing.
My only nit to pick with this product is that Occidental Leather should provide extra rivets. I bunged one up when first setting up my suspenders, and it took careful work to salvage it. Having a spare set, as other reviewers have noted, would be handy.

Suspenders Review Builders Rig Bust
I am thoroughly dissapointed in this item!! It was extremely uncomfortable, the suspenders rubbed my neck all day. The pouches would not stay where I wanted them and liked them for comfortable wear. I have worn combinations of belt and suspenders before with success but never ones desgined to work together. These are a huge dissapointment, and I am glad I only lost $40.00 on the purchase!

Suspenders Review TOO BIG FOR MY BRITCHES
I love the whole concept of this item. It is well made and should work for most people in the trades. The caveat is it will not fit well if you are short and thin. The suspender system is made for someone over 5'8" and with at least a 30" waist. I'm back to padded suspenders and a soaking wet (from sweat) waistline.

Suspenders Review economical and very comfortable
I have worn several tool belt sets in my trade as a sheet metal worker. This is the most versatile and comfortable in all of my experience. In the past I have had to customize the pouches by adding extra pockets so my many small tools would be easy to find. Totally unnecessary, the Builders Rig has so many pockets and slots that I have yet to use them all. Though, it took a while to get used to my hammer being in the back, it works well for me now. It is the most comfortable of all I have ever worn.

Suspenders Review Not what I thought
I bought these suspenders thinking they would be more comfortable than the nylon 2" elastic type design I had before. I was right, they were more comfortable, but not what I thought they would be. I thought that they would distribute the weight across my shoulders, and I also thought the shoulder straps would be more padded than they were. But on a positive note, they are a well designed suspender. I connected them directly to my belt. I also like the front detatchable chest strap to keep the shoulder straps in place while working. Overall, they are a step up from the 2" nylon, but I've seen better.
