very weak kneepadsThe "gel" in these kneepads is a joke. Within 20 minutes of wearing them while installing hardwood flooring, the gell was all squished to the edges of the insert and I might as well have had no knee pads on at all. The outter shell/holder was an acceptable device once I removed the gel pads and inserted a piece of firm closed cell foam (from a gardeners kneeling pad)
terribly disappointingI do not usually write any kind of product reviews online but after having spent $60 on kneepads only to suffer through a two week install I feel compelled to prevent others from making the same mistake as I. The entire premise of this pad is flawed in that the gel packet is not fixed inside of the cap allowing it to move out of place and then the packet itself has little channels in it so the gel stuff moves away from the point of greatest load where you need the protection most. After about five minutes on your knees, the gel has oozed off to the side, the neoprene (completely stretched out after two weeks use) has allowed the exterior plastic cap to slide over as well, and your knee is wedged against the edge of the plastic cap. I had very high hopes and was terribly disappointed.
Patella Pain PadsI am an avid weekend carpenter and like to wear knee protection to help save wear and tear on my knees. I recently wore out a $17 pair of basic knee pads from my local supply store. I had heard about these Patella pads and thought I'd give them a try. They are pricey, but if comfortable, that would be OK. I have to tell you that these pads have a serious design flaw. The gel pads do not stay in position during use. The strap system they have looks great with nice velcro strips, but they are not effective in holding the pads in place. Plus, the abrasion on the back of your legs is more painful that not wearing knee pads at all. Save some cash and buy the G3 Ultra gel pads, or the basic $17 ones from HD, both are far better than these Patella pads.

Pads are ok but the velcro straps failedBefore finishing one roof the velcro straps failed. The pads themselves seemed to be working out, however, I returned one of two pairs before 2 weeks of use because the stitching holding the velcro pulled away.
which one is right for meThis sounds like a great line of knee pads. However, from the pictures and description it is very difficult to tell what the diffrences are between the models. (1002F, 1003F, 1004F)

Dangerous to useI have a pair of these knee pads with McGuire-Nicholas branding. I have found these dangerous to wear, especially when moving around on your knees at heights, such as when installing roofing or decking. The pads are too thick (too high) and they displace your weight too narrowly resulting in "tippy" knee pads.

Mediocre Glove This glove was just OK...I like the leather palm, but it just doesn't fit as well as other gloves that I have tried. You can feel the seams in the fingertips and the glove left blisters on my hand, and blisters are caused by movement. Make sure you get a good fitting glove. The Mechanix Wear 4.0 glove is similar to this glove but with a better fit, any of those gloves are better than this pair.

Great Padding, but Won't Stay PutThese are impressive, well-constructed knee pads, with lots of soft gel padding. Unfortunately, they won't stay put. They have a single strap across the middle of the back of the knee (compare with the kind with two straps, one above and one below the knee). If you're performing a job where you need to move around, everytime you slide a knee forward and land on the pad, you'll roll off to the side. I would only recommend these for a job where you are mostly stationary. Of course, then you could just use a knealing pad.

THESE DON'T WORK WELLAt least for me they don't. They either slip down my legs if the straps are loose or they cut off circulation when the straps are tightened. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. When the pads are on my knee(without cutting off the blood to my feet) they are comfortable.

JunkDon't waste your money, line spool capacity not good, replacing line difficult. You will get about 10 minutes of work before you have to replace the line. I have use mine for the first time, 20 minutes of use, 30 minutes on line relacement--no need to send it back---I just gave it to my local charity
