Lawn and Garden Review Great system
Just bought one last week from Target. It was easy to install and now I do not have to use a sprinkler to water by bed. Found it on Amazon for less so I bought 2 more. This will make watering much easier.

Lawn and Garden Review GREAT GARDEN HELPER
This sprinkling system is great. If you always wanted a lawn system, but it was too exspensive, this is the perfect option. Easy to install and you have options of high or low water coverage, as well as full circle or half circle. My garden thanks me for installing the Simple Soaker.

Lawn and Garden Review Easy garden watering
I picked one of these up at a Super Target while on vacation. I got home and had no trouble installing and using it in a raised bed situation with great results. So when I found it on Amazon I just had to order 2 more to use in my flower beds. It is so easy to use and does a great job.

Lawn and Garden Review It just works.
And it works perfectly, every time, just as you would hope. I use it several times per week--flies (even in flight--with a little luck and practice), spiders, beetles--you name it.

What a great product!

Lawn and Garden Review Transport bugs straight to the sewer. Flush!
Roach problems in high-rise apartment buildings? The Bugzooka sucks them up even faster than they can run. After you fill the canister, you can easily deposit the roaches into their new home; the toilet bowl.

Spiders bothering your home in the country? Any spider is easily captured within a few seconds, without any mess. Two, three, six, whatever, they are all sucked into their little cage match where they fight until they are released into their new home; the toilet bowl.

The Bugzooka completely fills the bug-relocating product void in any household.

Lawn and Garden Review Bugzooka is fantastic!
A couple years ago, I was sent a bugzooka as a gift. At first I thought it was just another gadget I would rarely use but in fact, it is by far the most used gadget we own. We use it almost on a daily basis to remove spiders from our country home. The suction design is ingenius. It works beautifully every time. My husband and I use it so often, I'm getting another for the downstairs and I bought some for my friends. If you have spiders or other insects in your house, this is definitely a must-have item.

Lawn and Garden Review Flowerhouse Spring House Portable Greenhouse
Excellent product. Though I have joint and back problems and some other physical problems, I was able to put this portable structure up myself with minimal difficulty. It does an outstanding job of protecting my plants from the frigid temperatures, strong winds, and heavy precipitation we've been having here in Seattle's North End the last couple of months. It won't be hard to take down and store come Spring -- important, as plants need plenty of Sunshine and warmth when that is available. I recommend it highly.

Lawn and Garden Review Great for seed starting - very practical.
This is a great little item. Like any tent-type structure you have to figure it out a little the first time (aha - poles go on the _inside_! - I get it). It's nice and sturdy and has room for several of those white plastic shelving systems you can get anywhere. I got a little ceramic heater at Lowes for $20 and added two black plastic tubs full of water for additional passive solar heating. Things are nice and tropical inside and my seeds are sprouting like mad. I hope to have a real full-size greenhouse someday but this is a fun and inexpensive starter.

Lawn and Garden Review My favorite purchase this year!
This little greenhouse it terrific! I love it and have told all my friends and relatives about it so they can get one too.

I bought it to "save" tomatoes and herbs in my kitchen garden from freezing too soon. Our nights have dropped to freezing starting the last week of August and I had been going out to cover everything in flannel sheets and comforters every night then going out every morning to uncover them for daytime when it would be hot and sunny. It was just like having kids to put to bed every night and I couldn't leave home without worrying about not getting things covered before the night air got cold. Now I have this greenhouse, I just unzip the doors on the top section to allow for venting if the day is too warm and the air in the greenhouse stays just right even if I don't get home until after dark to zip it up all the way. The plants have really benefited from the added humidity too. I have even dug up some tomaoes, peppers and eggplants from the big garden and potted them in the greenhouse to see what happens. (The big garden has long since succumbed to the cold) They are starting to put out fruit and this greenhouse has given me at least one or two extra months for fresh produce and herbs.

Setup was a snap. I did it all by myself in nothing flat and then my husband gave me a hand with the tie downs because we have winds on a regular basis that can pick up a metal garage building and move it several feet. He was dubious about it staying put but by the time we got all the included tie downs in place he has changed his opinion.

Since the greenhouse is open on the bottom, I just slid it over my existing plants and then adjusted the position of the "skirting" on walls of my raised bed. After securing the tiedowns, I used some bricks on the outside skirting to secure it around the uneven terrain that I had errected it on. Next I installed the metal frame poles inside (they are just like the modern tent poles and go together within seconds if you read the directions and install them in the correct order.

The greenhouse comes in a nifty storage case and collapses down like those windshield sun screens that kinda coil up when not in use. Once my current kitchen garden plants have stopped producing, I plan to store the greenhouse and then set it up in a flat clear spot next spring for an early start on next year's goodies.

My terraced kitchen garden filled approximately one half of the greenhouse so I moved some garden shelves into one of the empty quarters and put a large wooden planter of herbs and strawberries in the other quarter. The shelves are holding 2 to 5 gallon pots with the vegetables I saved from the big garden before it froze. I still have more room if I want to fill it completely, but I left an aisle down the middle from one door to the next for now.

A little water goes a long way in this structure so I only water 2 - 3 times a week. I have more strawberries now than I had all summer and the tomatoes are really busting out.

There are small velcro'd openings for water hoses and power cords built in. I plan to set up a thermal controlled heat light this weekend as our first snow is due in a few days.

The doors have mesh screens as well as the polycarb door flaps. There are velcro straps all over for securing both sets of flaps.

We are installing a large sunroom/greenhouse to the front of our house next spring so this was the perfect little item for me to try out greenhouse gardening. I expect it to be a handy and useful auxilliary greenhouse for many years to come. No matter if you have a large garden or just a small bed, this greenhouse it really worth it's real estate in getting more from your plants in any climate. If I could, I'd buy several more and use them for cold frames in the big garden next year!

Lawn and Garden Review Great value
I was in the market for a multi-tool for quite sometime. I considered several different models but many seemed like overkill. I mean how many attachments did I really need? I certainly wasn't looking to clean out any cow hooves or saw through a leg bone with it after a successful hunt. It has the right number of tools and features for a regular guy. I use it at work and at home all the time. The add-on tool set and carrying case are a nice bonuses. Great value for [the money].

Lawn and Garden Review An EXCELLENT replacement for the Sideclip
I had written a review about the Leatherman Sideclip, calling it the best daily carry multi-tool I had found. This was until I got a Gerber Sport.

My "heavy-use" multi-tool is a Gerber, and I would often carry onto a jobsite if I knew I was going to be using such a tool. The "auto-pliers" and locking tools make it a fine choice.

The Scout retains these qualities, slims down the size and weight, and adds a very heavy duty set of scissors that I have personally used to shear thru thick leather hides. Cuts seatbelts like a charm as well.

The selection of tools isn't comprimised on this smaller model either. A good selection of ground screwdriver blades and a solid combo-edge knife are the standouts.

I have owned many a Leatherman, and I have twisted and tweaked the screwdriver blades on every one of them. I have *never* had this happen with a Gerber.

Those of us that have had to apply a good amount of force to a multi-tool plier have known what the hollows of a Leatherman feel like. Hard to apply pressure for any length of time as it "bites" into your hand. The Gerber's handle is rounded and quite comfortable for such activity.

One last note: As silly as it sounds, taking out your Leatherman in the middle of a task can often be clumsy as you butterfly it out to get at the pliers. With the Gerber, you flick your wrist and you're ready to go.

Lawn and Garden Review Just the tool I needed
I first used this type of gerber onboard a ship, and its great! has practically everthing you need with an added tool set sor you can fit more screws. Its much easier to have this sitting on your belt loop ready to use then to have to fish around in a tool bag or box for the tool you need.

Lawn and Garden Review Solved all of my headaches
Every fall I have tried to keep my leaves at the curb with old blankets and sheets. Besides the fact that they look awful they really never did the job. The wind would always blow the leaves back in my yard which was a major headache. We were skeptical but tried Leaf Lock and it really did the job. I could not recommend it more. I mulched some leaves and going to use it on that pile as well.

Lawn and Garden Review Wonderful fall item
If you are like me you dread raking the leaves in piles and then bagging them. The problem is that you have to put all the leaves in bags before you quit or else! Last weekend I raked the leaves in piles but had to quit before I could get them all bagged. I pulled out Leaf Lock and sprinkled it on the piles. Kept them in place until I could get back to bagging them the following weekend. It is really a great fall item.

Lawn and Garden Review Loved the stuff!!!
I have always had a problem with my leaves blowing back in my yard so I tried this stuff. It is fantastic! I even used it for leaves that I used for a mulch pile. Again fantastic!

Lawn and Garden Review More versatile, much safer and just as tasty!!
I have used a propane cooker for 12 years and because I was VERY careful I had no problems. In Oct 2004, I bought this cooker. I can highly recommend it for the following reasons:

      1. No flames to ignite spilled oil.

      2. Set and Forget temp control means no constant checking of the oil temp. You can actually leave it after you can see that the oil won't spill over when the turkey is inserted.

      3. Because the unit has no burner unit underneath, it sits directly on the ground and therefore it is much harder to tip over.

      4. After the oil cools, Simply lift it onto a stool or box and easily (w/o much mess) drain out the oil thru the drain valve.

      5. Because the unit has no flame, the oil residue in the cooker is easier to clean. The unit separates easily for ease in cleaning. (Shell, pot, heating element, lid and basket)

      6. Because it is so easy to use and clean, we find ourselves using it more often than our gas unit. It's great for making a low county boil for a summer picnic. The water based cooking is even easier to clean than when you use oil. You can easily take it to another location if you are using water as you can easily discard hot water w/o making a mess.

Lawn and Garden Review A "must-have" for fried turkey lovers
We got this for Thanksgiving this year and used it to fry one of the best turkeys we've ever had. It's even rated highly by Consumer Reports, which no one can say about gas turkey fryers. And it is even certified by UL, as the others aren't.

This fryer has many other uses that just frying turkey. We've used it to steam lobsters, clams and crablegs as well. It fries up to and 14 lb turkey. Initially we thought this was a "con" for the electric fryer since we sometimes host a bigger Thanksgiving than a 14 lb turkey will feed, but then we discovered that it wasn't recommended to fry anything over 15 lbs anyway since it then gets to a point that it would require too long of a cooking time for a juicy turkey.

The user manual breaks down cooking times for many items from fries, to a turkey breast to hot wings or a turkey.

The great thing about the electric vs. the gas is that you can cook indoors. With gas, it takes about 4 times as long and you have to cook outdoors FAR away from any buildings and it is highly recommended that you stay with it at all times. Who wants to sit out in the cold for 4 hours watching a turkey cook?

The drain on the side is a wonderful added feature that you shouldn't have to live without. It is set just high enough to drain most of your oil, but leave any settlement in the bottom for easy cleaning. (This is really handy and one of the big tips to frying turkey is continued use of the oil for a few times as it's gets better when "seasoned".)

The adjustable thermostat (with safety shut-off) eliminates the need to monitor temperature, which can be somewhat difficult with the gas fryer. The glass lid with a "cool-touch" handle allows you to monitor your food easily.

Other features include: Six legs to make it even more stable. An outer shield to protect against the heat generated from the frying. A maximum fill line for oil, to minimize spatters, spills, and fires. A 'ready'cook light. A lifting hook and the basket has a drain clip for easier draining. And it comes apart for easy cleaning.

Lawn and Garden Review Now Everyone Can Enjoy the Best Turkey Anywhere!!!!
I love the taste of deep fried turkey and Thanksgiving wouldn't be right without a fried turkey on the table. But...I live in Maine and November is usually not warm and often stormy. And let's face it, deep frying anything with propane is labor intensive as you have to babysit the burner to keep the temperature in the proper range.

Well now there is a safe and easy alternative to propane burners: the Turk 'N' Surf Electric Turkey Fryer. You can deep fry on the kitchen counter!!! The double-walled unit keeps the outside (lid excluded) warm but not hot to the touch and the see-through lid lets you view the progress of the cooking process. I cooked a 13 pound turkey for Easter and it was the equal of anything I have cooked in a propane setup. One suggestion however: There is a Maximum Fill line in the removeable pot and if you are cooking a bird between 11 and 14 pounds, place the bird breast down in the basket, or the top of the breast will not be submerged and thus will not brown.

This isn't simply a fryer however. It is thermostatically controlled with a wide range between 150 and 400 degrees. So you can steam clams, lobster or a whole lot of corn. The instruction gives a recipe (its only recipe) for low country boil, but practioners of this will certainly improve upon this.

What I really like is that, as someone living above the Mason/Dixon Line, I can enjoy this until now, uniquely Southern cooking genre. My Turk 'N' Surf sat on the counter between the stove and the sink and performed wonderfully. It has six rubber 'feet' that elevate well above a counter surface, so scorching won't be a problem. And like almost all deep fryers, there is a safety break-away plug.

Do you get the feeling that I like the Turk 'N' Surf? Culinary-speaking, it is the answer to a prayer. No more shivering in the high 20's in November, and a safe and simple way to make the most delicious turkey that you've ever imagined.

Lawn and Garden Review Bargain price blower: good for decks/patios; so-so for lawns
The Toro 51586 Power Sweep electric blower is a low-cost item. It's a decent machine for cleaning off your patio or deck. Your neighbors will appreciate that it's quieter than most electric blowers, and all gas blowers. Without a gas engine and tank it's lighter, too. And the Power Sweep blower has good balance in your hand.

On the minus side you'll be limited to extension cord reach, and there's no extensibility for vacuuming or mulching. The biggest concern is that the low speed means this is not good for heavy jobs, such as the twice-a-season removal of all the accumulated thatch that I just performed, slowly, on my small lawn.

There are some small functional limitations worth pointing out. My unit came with significant plastic flashing on the underside of the handle, and very sharp molded ridges there. Consequently I can't comfortably hold the blower for more than a few minutes without gloves. Of course with gloves on it's easy to inadvertently catch the on-off switch at the rear of the handle area. Finally, Toro recommends you not wear loose clothes while using this unit, but since I don't have any gardening pants that aren't baggy I keep getting my trouser leg sucked into the air inlet. Here I'm happy for the sharp, narrow ridges molded into the plastic; they prevent my clothing from getting damaged.

The bottom line: This is a bargain price blower that's good for cleaning decks/patios/driveways, but only so-so for lawns.

Lawn and Garden Review how long?
The blower is ok, but it took almost two weeks to get here from the order date. Too slow!

Lawn and Garden Review GREAT TOOL, VERY HANDY
This was the best purchase in a long while. Out of the box, 2 snaps for the nozzle, and it was working. I've had the huge bulky ones, but THIS ONE IS JUST AS GOOD. if not better.

The switch is really easy to use, and turn on (no difficult safey). AND extention simply plugs in, and has cord lock to keep from unplugging.

      GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Lawn and Garden Review The ones to buy
The Westinghouse Europa II Solar Light Set is the one to buy. The metal construction, brightness, clean design, and easy assembly make this set an excellent choice.

Lawn and Garden Review Solar lights are so easy
This is an excellent buy for stainless steel lights. They look great and are so easy to move if you need to mow or just want to reposition them. The light is blue-white and is not quite as bright as our electric ones, but certainly adaquate. Charging, even in partial shade, is good and they stay on past midnight (I didn't check any later than that)

Lawn and Garden Review I'd give them 6 stars if there was an option
After being victim to buying products that looked great in the store, on the box, or online; only to find out that they were garbage afterwards, this is the best purchase I have made in years. I showed my wife the link, she read the reviews - we figured we'd gamble and buy two sets. We put them up in front of the house along the walkway and the mulch beds and loved them so much we put the extra set around our patio in the backyard.
Dont be fooled - the great low price does not mean that they are junk like similarly priced solar light sets. These ar high quality lamps, with brihgt light, and so easy to set up that our 4 1/2 yr old acutally helped put tem in the ground. From delivery signature to installed in the ground in minutes.

If you are considering these, stop thinking and click Add to cart. The only regret you will have is if you buy something else.
