Gardening Tools Review Mexican Tile Hose Holder
This hose holder is attractive and easily installed. However, after one day outside the decorative center tile fell off.

Gardening Tools Review Beautiful, elegant, unique.
This is a beautiful garden hose holder. We actually painted it blue and changed the tile to a Mexican sunflower title, but it's overall beauty is the wrought iron which is unique in a garden. I have gotten many complements of it. It presently holds a 50 feet long hose without any problem. A must! for a garden which needs something graceful and still adds an accents to the garden. I wish they had more available.

Gardening Tools Review This holder is so attractive
We have been working to add little touches to our house that give it that extra flare. We have been slowly collecting pieces inside and out in terra cotta and Mexican art. This hose is really good looking and adds so much to the wall that our deck lands on. I haven't seen anything like it anywhere and we get compliments on it all the time.

Gardening Tools Review Functional but not portable
Pros: Value Priced, looks good, functional
Cons: Somewhat flimsy, not portable once assembled

This is a nice functional greenhouse.

Setup is easy, but a little intimidating when you first open the box because there are about 50 pieces. But soon you realize it's all just long bars, short bars, plastic sides, and wire racks - and it really couldn't be simpler to put together in less than 3 minutes.

I find the greenhouse to be nice and functional. Holds starters and small plants. I haven't had the wind problem that others have described, but I keep this on my deck near the house, so maybe it's just sheltered enough from the elements to not tip over.

I know this says "Portable" but it's not really portable in assembled form. The bars/tubes don't really "snap" into place. It's more like you just layer one shelf on top of another using the bars. If you try to move this after assembly, the bars tend to fall out of place. I discovered this after assembling indoors and attempting to carry outdoors. And after I put the pieces back in place and put my plants on the shelves, I tried to budge the whole unit over a couple of feet to another spot on the deck. Again, some pieces came loose - not horribly - just to the point that I had to wedge a few bars them back into their holes. No big deal, but again, not as "portable" as the name suggests. I mean, you can disassemble and move - but you can do that with a lot of things that aren't classified as portable.

Overall, I'm happy. Good price, looks nice.

Gardening Tools Review A few "extras"
I have this and agree you need some weight near the bottom...mine was blown over in a heavy wind.<br /> I also added the small plastic wire straps that you can buy in the hardware store to each shelf. It really helped firm the frame up.

Gardening Tools Review Wonderful product,, wonderful price.
I've owned another of these and it's a great help for starting seeds, hardening off plants, etc. Good shipping, excellent packing.

Gardening Tools Review BROKE SHORTLY AFTER WARRANTY
How clich for a product to break shortly after the warranty period. Well that is what you have here with the Robomower. Of course the cost to ship and fix the mower is quite expensive. When I purchased this product the Friendly Robotics went on and on about how good it was. Well let me tell you that this is not the case. The product is not even close to worth what it costs. I am going to stick with conventional gas mowers from now on. We all need to protect ourselves from products that are costly with short warranty periods.

    Gardening Tools Review Love it
I got my RoboMower in June of 2005 and other than one breakdown it has performed perfectly for me.

I have 12,000 Sq Ft of very level lawn (newly landscaped and graded yard) with no obstructions. The RoboMower comes out every night at 5:00PM, mows for a few hours, and comes back without issue. It's the hit of the neighborhood.

Laying the perimeter wire was a pain. At first I just laid it out and used the stakes to keep it down. I figured there was a 50/50 chance I'd be returning the unit (low expectations!) and I didn't want to spend the time burying the wire. After a couple of weeks I decided the unit was a keeper and I buried the wire - which took all day.

Suggestion: keep the box in case you need to ship the unit back. If you have the box they'll pay for shipping. It's a pretty bulky shipment, so it'll be hard to find a box that can safely ship it back.

Bottom line: My yard looks like a golf course every day. The quality of the mow is excellent.

Even if the unit broke every three years, I'd keep buying them. Having a mowing service would cost me $1,200/year ($60/week, 5 months a year) and the lawn would start to look shaggy a few days after mowing. With the RoboMower it looks perfect every day. A riding lawnmower would have cost me more, would cost more to maintain, and would still require me to mow my lawn myself every week. For me, it's a no-brainer.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of reviews are for older models. I have the 1000 version that automatically docks itself.

Gardening Tools Review Absolutely no problems
I actually have the RL800 model. As do all the above reviewers. I know this because this model, the RL1000 was only released in 2004 and the above reviews are all complaining about it being out of warrenty. That means they bought there mowers in 2003 or earlier. So please give this review as much weight as theirs. I also have an RL500 and that has been more difficult to maintain. If I guessed I'd bet most of the above problems were with that model.

As for the RL800, this is my second full year using it and its been no problem at all. I've played around with the barrier wires a little this year, but other than that and replacing the blades before the season started its preformed perfectly.

One note of common sense. Sure the mower will mow in the rain. Just like you could walk down the street with a sack of potatoes. But why would you strain yourself like that? Wet grass = heavy motor wear.

And just to be clear my RL500 is also 2 years old and running strong.

Gardening Tools Review nice design, works great, poor materials..
I like this model enough that I've put up with a bad gasket design. If there's any moisture in the bottom of the gauge when it freezes, the gasket will shift and cause the gauge to leak. I blame this mostly on the cheap clear plastic shell. Regardless, it's the best I've found for reading at distances and seems to be pretty accurate compared to another gauge I used to use. For the do-it-yourselfers, applying a bead of adhesive, all weather silicone to the gasket area will prolong it's life.

    Gardening Tools Review Very useful
I bought this for my mother, so she could place it in her yard and yet be able to read it easily from inside the house. She was a bit puzzled how one inch of rain could show up looking like four inches, but it's the 4x larger funnel at the top that does it, and does it well.

Gardening Tools Review Should be more durable
I like the WOLF Garten products and have bought many of them. With only one handle needed for mutiple snap on tools, great for space saving. However I realized today that this trowel can not stand up to the marine clay we have here in the DC Metro, it began to bend. These products are ideal for small light loam gardens and yards in Europe, but are far from professional grade. I was disappointed, but for green house use, garden boxes, or elderly gardeners these are fantastic products.

Gardening Tools Review Handy trowel to use standing
A primary benefit of the Wolf-Garten tools is that they can be used on interchangeable long and short handles. This is helpful if spending a lot of time kneeling is difficult for you as it is for me. I am able to dig multiple planting holes very quickly with this strong, large trowel. The tools heads can be quickly switched between long and short handles and the place where they are joined is very strong.

I highly recommend the Wolf-Garten interlocken tools for the avid gardener. They stand up very well in our soggy Pacific Northwest weather and I haven 't seen any sign of rust. I expect this trowel to last many years. I am very hard on my tools (using them for purposes for which they weren't designed and not always cleaning them off or getting them out of the rain), but I find the Wolf-Garten system to be very well made, durable, and strong. I own more than 10 of the various tool heads and plan to buy others. This is a cost effective way to assemble a great set of diverse tools.

Gardening Tools Review Years Experience Using This Meter!
As a Plant Science professsional, knowing soil moisture is very important to me working with turf, landscapes, etc. This "probe" is very handy and helpful in my work. It does basically measure "conductivity," so you have to keep this in mind when using it, but it is well made and does the job nicely. The price has increased a bit since I last bought one, but so has everything else.

The only knock on this product of which I can think is that it extends too easily. It's hard to get the clamp tight enough so that when cutting the pole won't keep extending. The blade cuts beautifully and easily. This item would have been worth the money at a significantly higher price point.

Gardening Tools Review Looking Glass Hummingbird Feeder
This item is deceiving in the initial picture because they have it filled with red liquid, so it appears to be red glass. That was the reason I purchased it. I was sorely disappointed to find it was, in fact, made of CLEAR glass.
Also, the bottom is a bit difficult to attach properly as it wants to move about durring the process, leaking a lot of the liquid hummingbird food. Another disappointment.
I would suggest a different feeder for your purchase.

Gardening Tools Review Not the easiest to refill... but sturdy and handsome
This feeder is not the easiest to open, clean and refill, but it's not the most difficult, either (tip upside-down and unscrew). It's sturdy and holds up to wind and the occasional Gila woodpecker hanging from the base and stealing nectar. It's handsome and fits in well with my rustic minimalist decor-- not gaudy or tacky.

Keep in mind that it will take longer for hummers to find this feeder -because there is barely any red on it- unless you add red food coloring to your sugar water, which I refuse to do (it's not any better for the little guys than it is for us to eat). Be sure to locate it near hummer flowers or employ another strategy until the hummers find it. Overall, though, it's a great feeder.
