Trowels Review Bricklayer
I have used my 48" masonry level for over 5 years, and it's as accurate as the day I bought it. Easy clean with a brush and water. I own Smith and American levels, and I always go back to the stabila for it's light weight and due to the fact that I can hit it with a trowel. Only drawback is the endcaps that pop out over time. Replacements are available though.

Trowels Review Light as a feather
My job is masonry, my hobby woodworking. Having contemplated building my own level out of exotic wood I began surfing the web in search of vials, rails etc. During my search I repeatadly came across this new Stabila. Being a fan of anything made of wood I was sceptical of a metal level being rugged enough for the real world.I've been whacking on mine for three months now and the accuracy is still top notch. This is not a discount warehouse level and I do not have to treat it like a museum piece. This is a tool that performs as the manufacturer says it will.

Trowels Review stabila is good
this thing is tough as nails! it has been dropped from as high as three stages of scaff (by my boss, mind you) and tolerated countless other mishaps. and you know what? it still reads as well as the first time i used it. i can honestly say that i will never buy any other brand of level again.

Trowels Review Archaeologist's Best Friend
As the other reviewer indicates, this is the trowel of choice for archaeologists in the U.S. and large portions of the rest of the world. Its tempered steel is higher quality and holds an edge better than any other brand out there. It's even a bit flexible, but still very strong. As a consequence, a Marshalltown trowel will outlast any other. I've got six field seasons on mine and it's good for several more. Any other brand of trowel will waste precious field time being resharpened, and wear out after 2-3 seasons. Do yourself a favor and go with the real McCoy.

I can't vouch for the "intended" purpose of cement work with these. Archaeologists wouldn't know what to do without them, though.

Trowels Review Best Quality in a Small Trowel
I originally bought this trowel to use while participating in a local archeological dig - at the suggestion of the professor in charge. After looking at the competition, I could see he was right. The handle is forged to the blade on the Marshalltown; the cheap competition has rivets. The wood handle stays cool in the hot sun. I put a relatively sharp edge on it for the "dig" in order to shave thin layers of hardened dirt away with it. I have since ground it to a blunt edge again. I have bought other high quality Marshalltown tools since then and used them with great satisfaction.

Trowels Review Good quality Trowel
I purchased the Fiskars Trowel, transplanter and cultivator at a good price for a high quality product. Love them.

Trowels Review Good product, but don't get too enthused over the hang hole
This is my third trowel, so I am obviously sold on the usefulness of the little machines! If you are a busy person--not necessarily a BUSINESS person, but a person who has a busy life, and has to remember lots of information, keep lots of appointments, dig often, etc., I believe you will fall in love with these devices if you try them. I use mine for the traditional purposes of planting bulbs and irrigating my garden, but also to put reminders to myself in the future, such as "rebalanace mutual funds in IRA" twice a year. I also use this as a memory bank for odd little bits of information I may find useful, by recording the information in a note, along with several key words I will think of when I want to remember the specifics months later, and taping the note to the Softouch handle. I search for the keywords, and there is the note, displayed so I can see it.

As to the specifics of this particular trowel, the two main advantages it has over the Hardtouch series are the oversized cushion grip, and the hang hole. Bluntly, I am unimpressed with the hang hole. You can hang the Softouch on a nail, but not on a hook. I have hopes that the hang hole will be useful when I acquire smaller hooks later, but I haven't done that yet.

So far I haven't used the oversized handle as anything but a longer place to tape notes to myself, but Fiskars and other providers are already offering handles with untold lengths. Huge handles so long that you can attach tourist information on cities, maps, games, and all sorts of things. It looks like this will be good, if your needs extend to that.

I highly recommend this product if you are buying your first trowel, or if you have a very old one (Ultra Hardtouch or something) you want to upgrade. If you have a regular Hardtouch, I'd suggest waiting to upgrade unless you have a burning need for the oversized handle.

Trowels Review Ames Deluxe Hand Trowel
I bought one of these 20 years ago and it's still going strong but I wanted, and just ordered, another one. This is a very sturdy hand trowel but what's really great about it is the vinyl handle which is so comfortable to hold. The hanging hole is a nice feature too. In general, Ames garden tools are reliable. I've been looking for a duplicate of the one I own in stores for several years now and I was delighted to finally find it in the Amazon catalog.

Trowels Review Leave it to the Corona Clipper Company
You wouldn't think there'd be much to making a decent mini-shovel to handle your small digging jobs around the yard...but when's the last time you used one that didn't either a) bend, twist, or buckle under just the slightest amount of pressure, or b) grow a lovely orange coat of rust the first time you left it out in the rain or in the damp grass?

And therein lies the real beauty of this Corona trowel (and the three-tined hand cultivator also in their "Comfort" line): the tool is a single casting of beefy, rust proof aluminum, with metal thick and sturdy enough to easily stand up to normal wear and tear, not to mention abnormal wear and tear like unearthing bricks or foot-ball sized rocks from the yard (and on both counts, I know of which I speak!). The red rubber handle is thick enough to get a firm grasp on, with a surface texture that will always give you a solid grip, in a bare or gloved hand.

Putting a polished finished on an aluminum garden tool may seem like a needless extravagance, but Corona deserves a kudos for the treatment they've given this small shovel: the super smooth blade surface means less dirt sticking, and it's easier to clean and keep clean. Even better, the edges and corners of the blade are so nicely rounded that you can actually slip the diminutive digger right into your back pocket with absolutely no worries about dicing your dungarees or piercing your posterior!

Of course, the flip side of it's rounded edges is that it won't cut through hard ground or thick grass quite as readily as a sharper-edged hand shovel would, but in my opinion, the trade-off is well worth it to get a tool this durable. And also remember that this is cast aluminum, not stamped steel - if you push it beyond its limit, it will break like a cracker, not bend like a piece of beef jerky.

The great thing about the Corona Clipper Company: they understand that there is a real need for and benefit from using quality materials and elegant design in every tool they manufacture...even something as simple as a five dollar hand shovel.

Trowels Review bead clincher clinches it
I have had a bead clincher for about 6 years now and would not trade it for anything!! I run my own business and the time it saves me when attatching bead is un beleivable. If you dont have one and you are in the drywall business you should invest in one . The money you save in one day will pay for the bead clincher !

    Trowels Review Joint Tape Dispenser
This tape dispenser is the best thing that ever happened to any taper who knows his or her trade. It not only dispenses tape; it makes the old dispensers obselete. This dispenser feeds out a perfect folded tape for corners and angles and an end to the never ending problem of loose dangeling tape. Two phrases come to mind when I give my review of this tool.
    # 1. Try it .... You will like it
    AND
    # 2. Now WHY didn't I think of that

Trowels Review Thumbs-up on this one
Very useful tool within certain limitations. For use in first-coating cornerbead or flats the hammer-end gizmos work great since it's a pain to carry a second tool just for driving the occasional "clicker" fastener. They do get in the way though to some degree, so I don't use this knife for any other operations except first-coat. One cool thing here is that, although the picture shows a blue-steel blade, the knife that arrives is indeed stainless as the text of the description states. Better get yours soon. I've found that when I really like a certain tool, it doesn't take very long at all before it's discontinued.
