Log Splitters Review A really good tool
Works very well and will do a good job for you. The only problem I have is the pin that secures the pump is bending from pressure. However, that seems to be an easy fix. Stay within the tools limitations and you will be pleased with it. Excellant buy for the money.

    Log Splitters Review log splitter
I am very happy with the hydraulic log splitter, it is very easy to use and makes splitting logs a snap.

Log Splitters Review Exactly as described - Very good product
I didn't want to spend a lot of money to buy a powered log splitter so I went looking for a manual splitter. I didn't purchase this the the first time I looked at it when I found out how much shipping was. However after some research and looking around locally I could not find a better price (cost + shipping). The log splitter works as advertised. It arrived quickly. I was splitting logs that were 2 to 10 years old and it worked great.

Log Splitters Review If you have a fireplace...BUY IT!
I didn't need a big expensive gas driven model for the small amount of wood that I use. I split hickory, and I need all 10 tons to split hickory, so any log splitter that is less then 10 tons is a useless toy. This little jewel is a delight to use. I no longer have to split wood with a sledgehammer and a wedge. Why everyone who has a fireplace does not buy one, I do not understand.

Log Splitters Review We're a 2 woodburning stove household.
When Fall Season arrives, my husband is busy cutting down trees on our property for our woodburning stoves in our home. He would be busy from dawn to dusk cutting logs and then splitting them manually to fit into our woodburning stoves. Our property has all types of wood from oak, elm, hedge, locust, walnut. Some are easy to split and others are very difficult.
The Swisher LS11534 Log Splitter (34Ton 11.5 HP) is not only MADE IN AMERICA, but the company is in the Midwest, same as us.
This logsplitter is towable and will split in either the vertical or horizontal position.
My husband couldn't wait to get put this "bad boy" through it's paces. We fired it up and split wood for about 2 hours. The logsplitter split those logs like a HOT knife through butter. It was fantastic. We ended up with as much split wood in 2 hours with the logsplitter that it used to take my husband 8 hours to split manually.
We are very pleased with this product and the Swisher Company Customer Service couldn't be nicer. I've contacted them online with several questions and they have always responded immediately and very professionally. I am so glad I bought the Swisher Log Splitter for my husband. (he is too)

Log Splitters Review Good Value, for the price
I've read the reviews, and looked around... Wanted a gas powered 20 ton unit, but the money, and storage space were an issue. I should state I burn a lot of firewood, in a airtight woodstove. Splitting wood is a great workout, when young, a pain in the back as you get wiser. I have run all sorts of aged wood through this unit, and will try the better oil (read other comments) and the pam spray. It simply is under powered for the larger hardwood logs. I compensate by cutting the logs shorter, and generally, it works.

I shop Amazon all the time - yet - got mine on ebay, no doubt bought one that was damaged in shipping (mine had a broken electric box - duct tape fixed it)and returned... Anyway I got a steal / deal, and so I will not complain about the limitations of it. A friend dropped off some green wood, and I split it all. So I am pleased with the performance, reconize it's limitations, and compesate for it by cutting smaller logs - lengthwise...

Log Splitters Review Great for the homeowner
I have been using this to split firewood that I had delivered for this winter (already seasoned - mostly). Works very well, low noise, and simple enough to use that my wife (who does not do any sort of "yard work")and 5-year old (with me standing over him)have been using it. Go to the hardware store and buy a gallon of hydraulic oil, because the bottle that comes with it is not enough - only half full. Very basic instructions, but not difficult to put together. Much easier on the back than splitting with an axe/wedge...

Log Splitters Review fisch 4 ton electric log splitter
I received in about a week this was fast shipping ,I went to work the next day and started to split my wood what a great unit it split with no problems at all, before I knew it I had a cord split sure beats the old splitting maul, everything arrived in excellent condition even came with a bottle of extra oil,for the shorter logs I used a 4x4 to take up the extra space of the 20 inch throat,I built a 20 inch tall table to put the splitter on and that way you do not have to kneel down just remove from log pile split and stack I highly recommend this splitter..

    Log Splitters Review Sweet
I got this splitter and started using it the same day. After several hours of splitting, I have enough wood for the next winter. It is a great time / back saver. It does need 3.5 gal of hydraulic fluid, but you can pick that up at a NAPA or other automotive store. Honda engine is a dream. Start with one easy pull. It had no problem with 18" diameter maple. I assume it can do much more... but that was the strongest wood I had.

Log Splitters Review Troybilt 27 ton log splitter
Stop looking for a log splitter! You have found a great deal on an AMERICAN MADE product in this splitter! I went to my local Troybilt dealter who wanted $1599.99 for the same splitter, and that price didn't event include tax or delivery. This log splitter is one heck of a deal. Do your homework and you'll see. It took only 6 weeks to arrive, which was 2 weeks less than estimated. The splitter started right up and has been running fine and performing well. Most Chinese made garbage is more money than this and will not perform the way this unit will. I am SO happy I decided to purchase from Amazon instead of locally. And with free shipping, you can't beat it. Try this splitter, you won't be sorry.

Log Splitters Review 27 Ton Troy Bilt just right
I researched as many log splitters as I could before deciding on the 27 ton Troy Bilt. I recommend it highly because:
The price was right - a quality US built machine with a reliable Honda engine and no tax and 10 dollar shipping.
Best size for me - I thought I might have wanted the 33 ton model, but after using it for several months the smaller one is plenty strong as I am splitting 16 to 20 inch long logs in diameters up to 2 feet!. It slows down a little bit on hardwood and twisted grains, but it ends up doing the job in the end.
Easy to move around - its small enough and light enough for me to move around easily and it hitches to my truck without problems. I like that it comes with tail lights. Others I compared did not have tail lights.
Good design - I rented a 30 ton machine before buying the Troy Bilt and I'm happier with the Troy Bilt for both upright and horizontal splitting.
US Made - I know I'll have fewer problems over time with this model as opposed to the cheaper Chinese models I considered. These Troy Bilts have been around for a while and they'll stay around!
Delivered to my door - having the splitter come straight to my door was great! It was delayed a little bit because the third party shipper didn't have my phone number, but I called them and arranged next day delivery. They left it on the curb and I assembled it there on the street and towed it around to my back yard. Very easy to assemble. The manual is clear to follow.
This is a great size for me who will split for myself, and two other family members. I've split enough in 15-20 hours to last me well into next burning season.
I'll use the splitter regularly without the hassle of going to the rental yard and paying 100 dollars a day to use.

Log Splitters Review Fantastic Splitter for Oak
Splitting green oak can test any machine. This machine did it! We came across a deal in CA for free oak if we could take the wood away. An Oak tree that was approx. 200 yrs. old, fell on a new house that belonged to a friend 6 months before we got to it. The base was 7 ft. across. The trunk was 4 ft. across and the branches didn't start for a good 10 ft. The rounds were cut anywhere between 10 - 25 inches thick, but not moveable by 1 man alone. So, they were cut in 1/2 and some in 1/4's. I ran the machine as my husband positioned the wood. Some pieces were the full 25 in. (max. capacity) and it split! The rounds were split into 16 - 20 pieces. A normal round yields 4 - 6 pieces. At times it sounded like it had to try harder, but you have to expect that with hard wood. The machine ran almost 1 1/2 hours NONSTOP per tank of gas. We'd go for 4-5 hrs. because we got tired, but the machine could've continued without issue. The maneuverability is great! Assembly took less than an hour which included oiling and gas fill up. The Tecumseh engine works great. We paid $1,000.00 with rebates and no shipping or tax.
If I had to come up with a complaint, I'd say it drinks the gas a little fast for a small engine. However, it could have been because of the load placed on it. It may barely drink any if we were splitting pine.

    Log Splitters Review great deal.
I bought this model 3 years ago with the 6 horse briggs & stratton i/c engine. It sits outside all year and has never failed to start or operate perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone, even for commercial use. I can't say how it would be with the Tecumseh engine, but other things I own with Tecumseh motors work great.

Log Splitters Review Shipping and assembly
The unit came as specified and looks to be made very substantially. Assembly was fairly simple except for wheel caps. To much paint on wheel hub to get cover on needed to cut down on paint to get it to go on. This was the hardest part of assembly

Log Splitters Review Yard Machine 20 ton splitter
I agree with the other review written about the amount of Hydraulic Fluid needed to get started. The instructions say that you need at least 1 gallon less. It works fine if you are splitting small pieces, but is not the splitter you want for any wood larger than 8 - 10 in around.

Log Splitters Review 100 percent satisfied
I just purchased this log splitter from a local hardware store but read the reviews here first. The unit on display had a 5 hp Tecumseh engine, however, the one I received had a 6 hp engine, NICE! See manufacturers site, they show 6 hp.
Yes, it does take an extra gallon to fill the system, but come on folks, that's no secret and shouldn't surprise anyone.
My test splits were made with 12- 16" diameter x 20" long ELM logs, which are notoriously hard to split. The ram started into them , then stopped, but the ram pressure was building...the two stage pump does not load down the engine like a single stage pump, so the rpm and engine load sounded even...suddenly the log went CRACK! and split. I tried other stringy Elm logs and no problem whatsoever. Green and Dry Oak and Maple splits without effort. The log racks on either side let you easily make several cuts from one log. You can beat this splitter for the price!
The eninge location is not the best for horizontal splitting, but with reasonable care, does not present a problem.
My spliiter came with a 2" ball, not the 1 7/8" in the description.
Only part that might ever wear out is the flexible pump coupler that is available on the MTD site for $39.95, but it may last for many years before it goes. I ordered one for my own personal stock, just in case.
Always read the instructions before you assemble or operate something like this. Be sure the hydraulic line runs ABOVE the trailer hitch.

Log Splitters Review AN EXCELLENT CHOICE
The 20-ton Yard Machine log splitter is everything we could have asked for AND MORE! It does takes 4.5 gallons to fill the tank upon receipt (3.5 gallons tank capacity - however the lines need to be filled as well!). But, the MOST impressive is the fact that it's been spitting 15-18" logs with EASE!

Log Splitters Review Too short and heavy
I recently used a log blaster for the first time. It is well constructed and will undoubtedly last forevre, but is it worth using? The log blaster is not practical for most people in my opinion. It is short and heavy. The laws of physics are working against this design. For me, a good splitting axe at 1/3rd the weight with a very strong light fiberglass handle (not to mention lifetime warrantee and almost half the cost) works better. Remember that kinetic energy = (1/2) * mass * velocity squared. Velocity is more important than mass! In my opinion you should study some technique, then go with a lighter model (maul or splitting axe).

Log Splitters Review great log-splitting tool
If you're trying to split logs with an axe or wedge/sledgehammer, then this is definately the tool for you. The heavy head effortlessly splits most pieces. I use it in conjunction with a hammer/grendade and I can get through just about anything.

Log Splitters Review Log blaster matches its name!
If you are looking for a powerhouse maul for splitting firewood, this is it. With one not so hard whack, it will split up to a six or eight inch diameter log in half. For larger logs, a couple will knock off a good size piece of firewood. And it's true, it doesn't get stuck (occasionally, a little stubborn, but not stuck). I tried one of those typical mauls, and it wouldn't split difficult logs, but this one does. Of course, a 24" diameter log takes more effort, and more whacks, but it does the job, even with wood that isn't quite the right dryness. Highly recommended. Just be sure you're strong enough to handle a maul with a 10 or 12 pound 'head'.
