Live Raccoon Animal Trap
The Trap with a HeartAnyone who deals with feral animals on a regular basis will do well to have their own Havahart trap, rather than getting one for a limited time from the Humane Society; that way when the opportunity for capturing the animal presents itself, one is ready for the moment. Also, trapping some wary or streetwise animals can take patience, gradually placing the food further in the trap. A few critters take time to get used to the mesh under their paws, and feel secure enough to venture into the trap, and occasionally it's longer than the fortnight the Humane Society allots for the rental.
For me, it's the feral cats that accumulate in my apartment complex garage, scrounging for food and seeking shelter. Depending on the estimated health and age of the animal, one can either trap and then neuter/spay and release, or take them to the local animal control. The purpose is to stop the cycle of misery caused by the endless multiplication of unwanted cats, some born to mothers so hungry they don't have the milk to feed them.
The Havahart Professional Cage Trap is ingenious in design, and sturdy in construction. If you keep your trap clean and dry, it will last for decades. I have used my 32" Model 1079 for everything from small kittens to a large tom that must have tipped the scales at 15 + lbs. A word of caution: Always cover the top of the cage with a towel after catching an animal, because a trapped animal will often try to reach up and scratch your hand on the handle, and also, the less the animal sees, the less fearful it will be.

Works great!Couldn't even go in my yard without putting repellant on - otherwise would be swarmed. I thoroughly investigated a mosquito removal device. The other brand propane devices seem to have a high malfunction rate and I really didn't want to have to use propane - especially since those devices use a tank a month. Bought the Mega-Catch on eBay because you can get it a lot cheaper there. Simple setup up and operation and no propane required. Nice timer for easy programming. Can catch in a mesh or a provided cup that you add water and some dish detergent. I use the cup and a teaspoon of sugar. The plastic door where the net or cup go is a bit tight and hard to close all the way so I just close it as much as I can and leave it since there is a skirt with a velcro strip that covers the door area anyway. There is a slot for octanol strips and other brands will fit there too. After the first night, caught hundreds of mosquitos. Since then, I have caught thousands. I can now be in my yard with no mosquitos bothering me.
Mega Catch Premier ReviewPROS:
It really does work!
It does not require propane (at least not the model we bought).
It has a timer so that you can set it to turn on and off several times a day when the mosquitos are most active.
CONS:
They only have Octenol attractant and not Lurex 3 (which is effective at catching Asian Tiger mosquitos, which are a real pest here.) However, I use the Lurex 3 attractant made by Mosquito Magnet, and lay it next to the collection cup, inside the Mega Catch. Since we did not get bit at all after setting up the Mega Catch, I assume it is working.
After moving into our new home almost nine months ago, my wife and I wanted to be able to enjoy our backyard without getting eatin alive by the mosquitos here (suburb of Houston). I did a little investigating of mosquito machines...read good and bad about many of them. One day I was in Home Depot, and noticed their Mosquito Magnets were discounted and decided to give it a try. I bought a propane tank to use with it. After 3 or 4 days of catching only 1 mosquito, I gave up and returned it. I read later that some of the Mosquito Magnets work extremely well, and others not at all.
I kept investigating and decided to try the Mega Catch mosquito trap (Premier) after checking out their website. Plus, I could buy it online from Costco and return it to my local Costco if it did not work.
Well, after setting it up and having it run less than a day, I opened it up and pulled out the collection cup. I was pleased to see numerous mosquitos in the water (100, maybe 200...I did not count them). For the rest of the mosquito season last year, we were able to go out in our backyard (the size of our backyard is approx. 2000 sq feet) without getting bitten.

10 Pack of M034 4PK EASY SET MOUSE TRAP
Made by WOODSTREAM CORPORATION

Works better than the fancy mouse trapsI tried a fancy mouse trap with different baits for several days and didn't catch any. The first day I set out these traps I got 12 mice! It's much cleaner too because you don't have to use any bait. I like it better than glue traps because the mice are killed instantly instead of starving to death.

Does a good jobI use one of these to broadcast the various green manure/cover crop seeds I use. I have done Winter Rye, Clover and Hairy Vetch and it works well with all of them. I can cover a lot of ground quickly and get even coverage(my garden area is 100 feet by 150 feet) and the unit is very well built. the only drawback was that the shoulder strap was a but too narrow for carrying a full load of seed, but from the picture on this one it looks like they have fixed that.

best thing since sliced breadI have young children and pets who continually slide the door to go in and out. Especially in warmer weather. I had to reinstall the sliding screen at least a dozen times until this. No more "hey shut the screen" or "don't slam the screen". Pets can go in and out without assistance. I would recommend this to anyone.

Coyote Urine Lure-32 oz
Made by Deerbusters

Average review score:

Top DogI am not sure why this product is advertised as a "lure", since it is obviously meant to repel deer and other creatures wary of coyotes. I myself do not have deer problems, living in a Manhattan condo, but I do have a rather willful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sir Winston who aggravates me to no end with his aggressive behavior, incessant barking, and refusal to obey my commands. Quite simply, I just don't get no respect from him. I have tried discipline, bribery, psychotherapy, and even physical restraints, but nothing works. After Sir Winston chewed up and peed on my $1200 Amedeo Testoni loafers, I knew I had to get serious.
The coyote urine smelled no different from the hundreds of other urine I have smelled. Perhaps I was expecting something gamier or muskier than your average urine. For a moment I was afraid that someone might have simply urinated into the container, trying to pass it off as coyote urine. Brushing my doubts aside, I went to the bathroom, removed my shirt, and then liberally applied the coyote urine to my body--under my chin, on my torso, rubbing it into my arms--until I fairly reeked of the pungent odor. I stepped out of the bathroom and called to Sir Winston. Not surprisingly, nothing happened. I went to search for him and found him in the kitchen, peeing on my Cuisinart. The moment I came in, however, his body seemed to tense, and he turned around quickly, whimpered, scrambled off the counter and ran to the living room to hide under the sofa. I followed him to the sofa, got down on my hands and knees, and called to Sir Winston. He responded with a high-pitched whine. You can imagine how powerful and in-charge I felt.
"Sir Winston!" I yelled, "Come out now and face your master!" Sir Winston crawled out, crouching low, and looked up at me with humility and fear. "I am top dog now, and you will obey me!" Sir Winston actually seemed to nod his head--quite a change from his usual response of biting my ankle. "Go now to your room and repent your past disobedience!" I yelled, and then, for good measure, I flexed my chest and arms and growled, "ARRRRGGGHHH!!!" Sir Winston bolted to his room as if the very Devil himself were chasing him.
My success with Sir Winston has led to my wearing coyote urine all the time and growling whenever anyone crosses me. The other junior partners at the firm where I work have developed a new respect for me, and even the senior partners have begun to give me a wide berth. I am now experimenting with other predator urine, including wolf and bear, but coyote remains my favorite.

It works!!!In the space of about two weeks, the sticky pad was completely filled with fleas. If you have a real infestation problem and buy this product, be sure to get extra pads. They fill up fast! We only bought one, but for the size of our house we really should have gotten at least two.
Awesome! So far on only the 2nd day of use, the flea trap has caught about 20 fleas. I have 2 set up.. 1 in my living rm and one in my dining rm. which is where my cat likes to go the most. I tried using a fogger to kill the fleas and when that didn't work I started searching online for a better and longer lasting solution. I am very pleased with my purchase and will be buying a couple more for other rooms in my house. On another note.. if your pet ever gets fleas or you suspect that they have them, take care of the problem right away! I didn't take care of the problem right away and now have spent over $150 dollars on pills, shampoos, sprays, foggers, flea collars, (which btw do not work very well) and now the traps. Needless to say I will not make the same mistake again!
The family of raccoon's invading my garage have been captured and returned to the wild unharmed.
