Highly recommendedI have a 9 acre yard and needed a way to spray herbicide along the fence. This Agri-Fab is just the trick. I have also used it to fertilize the lawn. I can't imagine going back to a "pump up" sprayer again.
Lawn SprayerTHis prduct was very easy to put together and easy to operate. It works as advertied.

GOODYI have this steel (non stainless steel) model which lasted only 3 years before rusting an leaking at the seam under pressure. The pressure was quite good. That was the bad news, the good news, company replaced the whole unit without charge after 3 years because the tank leaked. The pressure is quite good. I use it for small trees, bushes and it works great.
The proper way to bleed out the pressure is to turn the unit upside down and release the pressure throught the wane before refilling. There will be some Liq. in the wane, so be careful.

Chapin 1380 Premier Tri-poxy Steel Sprayer - 3 gallonProfessional quality. Ease to change nozzles a plus. Does an excellent job getting fungicide on the underside of rose leaves. Quickly switch nozzles and stream spray climbing roses. Fairly lightweight for metal sprayer. Over all, the Chapin 1380 is a great tool for rosarians.

Worked like a charm.I purchased the Preval Spray gun to paint some flush mount speakers to match the walls in a house that I am remodeling. It was easy to use, and the paint coverage is excellent. Just be sure to follow the recomendations for thinning the paint.
Works Great and What a Price! This is not going to replace a compressor and spray gun but it does a pretty fine job for what it is. Preval sprayers are infinitely better than can spray paint and varnish. With Preval you can actually put a mirror finish on metal, wood, or fiberglass. I once refinished a complete 1960 era birch wood kitchen, spraying high gloss polyurethane and did a fantastic job- no drips or sags.I used more than a dozen of the power units, but they're only $3. I've done spot repairs and small spot paint blending on my boat, very successfully. But I never did a car.. to big of a single spray. Preval will spray anything, just thin it down as directed on the directions, fill the bottle, screw the power unit on top and spray away. There's plenty of propellant in a power unit and they clean up real easy with a spare bottle of thinner that you spray thru for cleaning. I believe 1 power unit allowed me to get almost 2 coats of varnish on both sides of a door. Preval provides a reasonably nice finish for almost no investment. You'll be surprised with the product. Highly recommended.

Does a good jobI use one of these to broadcast the various green manure/cover crop seeds I use. I have done Winter Rye, Clover and Hairy Vetch and it works well with all of them. I can cover a lot of ground quickly and get even coverage(my garden area is 100 feet by 150 feet) and the unit is very well built. the only drawback was that the shoulder strap was a but too narrow for carrying a full load of seed, but from the picture on this one it looks like they have fixed that.

Easy to Use Easy to CleanI have never done spray finishes before. It just seemed to complicated. My compressor wasn't big enough for an HVLP gun. I was excited when I saw this all in one product in a trade magazine. I used the Earlex for the first time today. I used it on a plastic water tank that didn't have to look perfect. I thought it would be a good place to start. I thinned the water based primer a bit and it went on with no problems. I had a few runs because I'm new at spraying but very happy with the results. I definitely need some more practice before I tackle cabinet doors. Cleaning was easy with the water based primer. Very happy so far.

If you need a backpack sprayer, this is it!I am currently on my second D.B. Smith Field King sprayer. My first one, purchased around 1990, was the 5-gallon model. When a neighbor offered to do some work for me in exchange for this sprayer around 2000, I took him up on the offer and immediately ordered the model offered here, the 4-gallon version. The only difference between these two models is literally the size of the tank. I had found 5-gallons of liquid somewhat heavy and definitely prefer, for extended periods of use, this 4-gallon model.
One of many things especially nice about D.B. Smith sprayers is that every part is readily available, at reasonable prices, should a part ever require replacing. I purchased both my backpack sprayers from Forestry Suppliers, but I am sure A.M. Leonard offers spare parts, too, in additional to non-standard nozzles and extension tubes should one have specialized spraying applications. I, however, find the two types of nozzles that come standard with the sprayer adequate for my needs of shrub, fruit tree, flower, lawn, and house deck spraying. The only replacement parts I have ever purchased are a wand nozzle filter and strainer basket that sits under the lid--and then only because I lost one part (filter, under $2.00) and stepped on the other (basket, under $3.00). That's in 6 years. The 16-year-old one my neighbor now has has never required a replacement part.
One thing the description for the sprayer here does not note is that there is a lumbar bar support on this sprayer. It's a heavy duty plastic thing about 3" wide that rests on the lumbar zone of one's back. This plus the heavily padded, adjustable shoulder straps make for a very comfortable sprayer. Actually, the description also does not note that it comes with a fan spray nozzle as well as the adjustable straight nozzle . I use the adjustable straight one 95% of the time.
The real advantage of a backpack over traditional sprayer is the ease of keeping pressure in the tank. One can place the pump bar on either side, depending on whether one is right or left handed. *Gentle* pumping keeps it primed. An agitator in the Field King tank assures that even powder chemicals stay in solution. Should one be careless and get any debris in the tank with one's mixture [by not using the strainer basket], the filter in the extension wand will catch it, making it easy to remove the gunk later rather than having to dig things out of a tiny sprayer nozzle hole. The location of this filter is such that it can be easily accessed while maintaining pressure in the tank.
If someone here decides to buy this or some other backpack sprayer, the one tip I have to offer before you use it for the first time is find a place to fill it, such as a picnic table or wall, so it can be put on your back, once filled, by bending your knees and sliding backwards into the shoulder straps. Getting a 4 or 5 gallon sprayer on one's back from the ground is not easy.
In closing, this is a very high quality sprayer. Many other companies are starting to use plastic wands and/or nozzles. Smith only uses brass, a far superior material, for these parts.

Great Tool, Great Price, Great Service!I was skeptical about this gun and turbine. I am an old fashioned high pressure, high output car gun guy. This system enables me to use half the paint that I was using with the old system because the paint ends up on the subject and not in the air as over spray. Not to mention the finish is great.
The turbine keeps the air slightly warm and most important DRY. I cant tell you how many times that I have had water drops on what ever I was painting because of the regular compressor condensing the mosture in the air and it comming out of the gun.
The gun is great quality, works well, and has nice features.
I had questions about the system so I called Fuji directly. Both times I called the owner of the company, Paul, answered the phone and answered my questions in depth and with patience. He knows his stuff and is entheuastic about his product. I know that if I ever had any problems he would take care of them personally.

Best for lacquerMy Fuji system came with a #4 aircap set and it worked just okay while spraying lacquer, shellac, and water base, however it was going on just a bit too heavy. At the suggestion of my finishing class instructor, I bought the #3 cap and it sprayed those finishes perfectly. I'll probably get the most use out of this aircap, unless I spray paint, in which case I probably will have to go to a #5 in all likelihood.

Best Sprayer I've ever usedI've tried sprayers by Chapin, Roundup, etc., and this one made me give away the rest. Doitbest offers the exact same sprayer (1DIB) but in a different color (yellow). It is a little heavy but sturdy, has a nice quality wand with good sprayer, and the compact pump is really nice. I love the wide mouth, too. It works fast. The pressure release is really easy to use, too. I like them so much I actually own three of them- one for roundup spot sprayer, one for 24d spot spraying, and a 2gal one for pesticides.
The quality of the XP10/XP20 series appears to be identical to their 1000P/2000P series, which are also premium sprayers but do not have a wide mouth.
