Weed Eater FLSST25 25CC Gas Straight Shaft String Trimmer
Good value for light-weight machineLight weight as advertised. I own several machines in the Featherlite line, and I have found them to be reliable, needing little maintenance other than new spark plugs and filters on occassion. They're easy to start and the light weight makes them easy to carry around the yard. Good value for what you get. I highly recommend this item for normal residential use.
Weed Eater 25CC Gas Straight Shaft String TrimmerQuality product for the price. Light and plenty of power for up to medium trimming chores. Only downside is design which makes starting less desirable than some other models on the market. If trimmer in sitting on ground while starting, trimmer rotates or spins causing either line to expel or chunking on surface causing engine to die out. It is a little to heavy to hold and pull the starter line at the same time. While not the best arrangement, trimmer is still a good buy.

Works pretty good if...It claims to work with "99% of gas trimmers". Which may be true, with a caveat. Some trimmers have the housing for the reel permanently attatched, no way to remove without breaking it. So, if this is the case, you install the Universal Bump stacked onto the original housing. Which works, but, the spin of the line is now several inches further away, and likely well outside of the guard. I suppose this would be okay if you can adjust the guard to compensate. But generally there isn't a good way to adjust the guard like that.
So, if you are considering this unit, see if you can remove the original reel housing. It should be easy to do if you can. And in that case, this Universal Bump seems to work fairly well.
In my case, the trimmer I used to have had the permanent reel housing. I used the Universal Bump with it, but, it was not really good having the line spin outside the guard. Well, that trimmer has died and I bought a new trimmer. And this new one I got has a removable housing, so I took the Universal Bump off the old trimmer and put it on the new trimmer and I'm quite happy with it.
As far as usage, its basically like any other bump head, other than it seems to be more reliable at feeding the line when you bump it. The original head on my unit seemed to always jam, and this never seems to.
This unit takes a fairly wide range of line sizes, but, the funny thing is, the product discription on their site and on this site says it takes line from .095 to .105. But on the package I got it said from .08 to .130. But I don't think it is too critical, the reel looks like it would probably take about any size line without problems I think.
Aside from the installation issue, the only other problem I had was that cheap line was melting and sticking together. So I started to buy some premium line with titanium and that problem went away.
Grass Gator now makes another similar product, called the EZ Reel. Not quite sure why they have two similar products. I haven't tried the EZ Reel. But, from looking at the information on their website, it has the same installation issue as the Universal Bump. I think the main difference between the two products is that the EZ Reel is supposed to be even easier to load, but I think it requires one specific line size. So I think I will stick with this unit. But check them both out to see which you think you would like better.
