Fantastic Garden ToolAs simplistic as the tool is it is hard to imagine surviving a day in the garden without the Hori-Hori. Solidly constructed it will withstand any punishment you deliver. With its slightly concave blade it will penetrate the most stubborn soils and pry up the most tenacious weeds with ease. The serrated edge cuts any roots blocking its path. The opposite edge is smooth but not sharp which allows carefree handling. The sheath has a belt loop for convienent carrying. I have also uncovered a larger version of the Hori-Hori with a total length of 14 inches. However this 11 inch model has performed quite nicely in my garden. Perhaps a bit overpriced considering the inexpensive vinyl sheath provided to house the Hori-Hori but overall a worthwhile investment.
Makes Me Feel Like the Karate Kid!When I'm in the Garden wielding my hari hari knife I feel like a super hero in an action movie.
Used it for years, no other tool needed.Digs any kind of holes in any kind of soil easily. Best dandelion digger in the world. I've lost two and replaced them as soon as I finished searching. Paint the handle red!

E-Z HoeI sure do love my E-Z hoe. A fella normally shouldn't get too worked up about his hoes, but this is one hard working hoe, fo shizzle. Why just the other day, I worked my hoe all day out in the hot sun and didn't hear even one squeek of complaint. If you're looking for a good, dependable, hoe that doesn't mind getting a little dirty, then this is the hoe for you.

Works perfectExcellent aerator attachment your Tiller/Cultivator.
Works with Hoffco Li'l Hoe, EZ-Hoe, Gardener's Supply,
Homelite, Garden Way/Troy Built, Murray. I have a Troy Built
and it works great, even with St. Augustine grass. You just have
to pull it back and forth a little, this causes the tiller to jump up and down,
not tearing the grass runners out. Considering renting an aerator at $50 for 4 hours, this is a great deal.

AwesomeYou may not need this item, but if you do, you won't be sorry for buying it! Since I bought my current house, my lawn has been in sad shape. Patchy grass, mostly weeds, dead thatch-filled spaces that rapidly fill in with dandelions. Trying to dig out weeds has been nearly impossible, because the ground is solid clay with a tons of rocks. The white grubs only make matters worse. 3 years of overseeding, weeding, fertilizing has gotten me nowhere.
This year I bought the aerater attachment for the Mantis (bundled with the dethatcher). This thing kicks butt! No problem slicing through the dead matted thatch, cutting deep grooves in the clay. It tosses up rocks that can easily be picked up. It slices up weed roots (and dices a few grubs too) as a bonus. The weeds pull very easily afterwards, and the overseeding I've done all seems to be sprouting as the seeds fell into the grooves.
The grass looks very ugly after you run this baby, but a couple of weeks later it's looking like a new lawn. It helps to run it after rain, or water a little first. The only downside I can see is that it's pretty small, so I probably can't do the whole 2 acres every year!

The Troybilt "Horse" tiller is a great productTo begin with, my order arrived within a day of the estimated delivery date. Unfortunately, it was damaged by the shipper. It appeared Troybilt did everything possible to ensure it arrived in just minted condition, but the shipper seemed to have piled things on it and let it crash around in the back of the truck. It was dropped off when we were not there to sign for it, which surprised me. While we were not necessarily looking to return the tiller (388 pounds of shipping seemed a waste), we did need replacement parts or something. The on-line returns feature on the web sight would not accept our return request and both Troybilt and Briggs and Stratten balked at providing free replacement parts for the damaged parts of the tiller. Next, we realized after wasting about 45 minutes of our time to convince ourselves that Amazon really does not display a customer service phone number anywhere on the web sight (customers must submit an E-mail (apparently to include requesting a phone number to talk to a customer service rep.) and then await contact/reply). So we sent in a frustrated customer E-mail to Amazon. However, Amazon customer service was very helpful by phone once contact was made and provided multiple acceptable choices for a solution to the problem of the damages during shipment. I am a now completely satisfied customer. After some assembly (handle bars and control cable connections), the tiller was up and running. I did notice the control lever to engage the tiller blades keeps slipping though, thus causing the blades to disengage. Since this is one of the parts I had to assemble, I assume this is something I caused. I have not yet contacted Troybilt to find out how to correct this yet. I expect Troybilt will be able to get me past this small problem. Otherwise the product handled as advertised. It is very well constructed. It is built like a tank and looks like it could take a beating for decades and keep working as long as I keep it oiled. I selected this model "The Horse" because my wife and I plan to expand our garden from a 20-foot X 20-foot patch to something more substantial on unbroken ground. I am now convinced this one will easily do the job. For now though, it is a little cumbersome getting around the tight turns in my current little garden. The tilling action is outstanding. The tiller leaves about a foot deep path of light fluffy soil. After tilling in this past year's tomatoes, basil and bell peppers, we tilled in five wheel barrels full of compost from our compost pile. This tiller mixed it all in so well you could barely see where we dumped it. I am looking forward to adding the snow blade and the woodchopper accessories to get the most out of this purchase. Yes, I would recommend this Troybilt tiller and Amazon to anyone. I have purchased numerous high-end and less expensive items from Amazon and have yet to be disappointed. I have two recommendations to Amazon though. First, check on the damage rate for this shipper if this is a pattern. Second, get a 1-800 phone number for customer service on the web sight or at least provide a note somewhere on the web sight explaining that problem resolution should first be attempted by E-mail and that one will be given to the customer in the first E-mailed response from Amazon. If this doesn't correct a problem that the customer has experienced then help is only a phone call away.

Troy-Bilt RototillerThis is a great roto-tiller! I purchased this tiller to replace my old Troy-Bilt "Junior". (My Junior served me faithfully for 23 years before I retired it.) The Pony is a little larger and works as advertised but you MUST read the instructions on how to use it or you will be disapointed (as have several people who have written reviews on other websites). For example, when tilling new, unbroken ground, set the tines depth to 2 inches and make several passes. Then drop the tines another 2 inches and make several more passes. Continue this pattern until you reach your desired depth. If you start tilling new ground with the tines set to mazimun depth, the tiller will lurch and buck and pull you along with it. From my experience gardening with my tiller, this WILL cause you to hate your tiller. Use it properly and you will absolutely love this machine!
Another piece of advise: go to the Troy-Bilt website www.troybilt.com and read about the different tillers. There are Forward Rotating Tines (FRT) and Counter Rotating Tines (CRT). If you're buying a tiller specifically to break new ground, you probably want one with CRT. If you're buying a tiller to occassionally break ground but mostly to use in flower beds and gardening, you probably want one with FRT. It pays to do a little research BEFORE you buy the wrong tiller!
One last thing, make SURE you buy one with Power Reverse! This should be standard on EVERY tiller, however, Troy-Bilt actually makes a forward drive only tiller. It works fine until you till yourself into a corner of your garden or yard and then realize you have to physically drag a 175lb plus machine backwards thru the soil you have just tilled! It makes NO SENSE to me why they would build a unit without power reverse! A tiller without power reverse is only good for tilling in circles. Hope this information is helpful!

Great Product - Worth the extra $$$I was going back and forth on this...whether or not to pay the extra dollars for the "Honda name". Several retailers offer a comparable product with more horesepower for similar prices. Well, the gamble was certainly worth it. After renting tillers year in and year out for various landscaping projects, this one measures up against bigger, more combersome units. At 5 HP, this unit delivers an incredible amount of power and is extremely maneuverable. The power forward/power reverse features are absolute life savers. My soil is the typical heavy Colorado clay and this tiller blew right through it. I can't wait to find more projects to use it on.
Highly reccomended!

excellent tillerI got this tiller factory direct from troy-bilt. It cost $499. No shipping charge, so it was the best price going.
I did a lot of research before I bought this. I looked at forward tines, rear tines, mid-tines. I looked at forward rotating tines and counter rotating tines.
I decided on this one because of the counter rotating rear tines. This is not a huge tiller. It is great for a small to medium sized garden. And because the tiller itself is not excessively heavy, the counter rotating tines are excellent for breaking up very hard ground and tilling very deep. This model has none of the problems i've read about that occur with foward rotating tines. That is, this model does not bounce along the surface when it encounters hard ground.
Because of the engineering, this model naturally wants to dig deep. I put it together in about an hour. Got it started fairly quickly and tilled a 20 by 20 foot plot over very hard ground in about 20 mins. Because this essentially is self-propelled, this tiller rapidly dug through old roots, dug up small buried rocks, etc.
If you have untilled hard ground, this is the tiller for you. If you have garden beds that need a good tilling, this is small enough for that, although it is considerably larger than a cultivator.

Honda does the jobI bought mine last year to replace a giant Troy Bilt that was way too big for my little garden. It started right up after sitting all winter. I was able to till my garden quickly this spring. It will give you a ride sometimes--so hang on. It takes a while to get used to pulling back (when it wants to jump ahead) or pulling up so that it will move forward and not dig straight down. Rocking from side to side helps. It moves easily around my plants as a power weeder. It is quiet and dependable. I really like it. This is too much power to be used by children.
awesomemy honda is Awesome. the great thing I like about it is no need to mix oil and gas. just fill it with fresh gas and go. I use mine in early spring and late fall. I had a troy built mini tiller for two years and even though they were fixing it under warranty it kept on breaking down. their excuse was always improper gas ratio. I used their oil and measuring cup.
my advise is : go with honda. you will never regret it

Another Great Item From HondaI bought this tiller just a few days ago, and I am completely sold on it. Be aware, it is NOT for breaking hard pan in South Texas, but it works well on soil that has been turned with a spade. It is light, tough, and the fuel consumption is fantastic. If you have an acre to do, get something bigger. If you are the average gardener, this will fit the bill very nicely. This unit starts very easily (be sure to prime it the first time), and restarts easily every time. In addition, to increase the FG110 usability, there is a nice set of add ons that work with it - edger, de-thatcher, digger and aerator.
Give it a try - I'm sure you'll like it.

Fully met and exceeded my expectationsJust rec'd the chipper, opened assembled and fired it up in about 15 min. It fully meets and exceeds my expectations and requirements. It should be able to handle what I throw at it. I will burn any limbs over 2" so most of my stuff is downed leaves from trees and is mostly about 1.5" or less. It seems to easily handle these without too much pain (other chippers I've used in the pass require you to push the material into the shoot, this really vibrates your hand). This model draws in the material pretty well.
It is extremely loud, but I expect it is the nature of the beast (chippers). I'm not sure how you could flail steels cutters around at a high speed while grinding hard wood to dust without making a huge racket. I'm sure my neighbors will not be happy I got I have a chipper . . . but I am.

chipperThis product met all my expectations and some. Worked right out of the box and after several days of use it is still working fine.
