Power Tool Accessories Review Hands down, the best saw period
This saw is the same base unit as the other 3hp, right tilt. The only difference is the fence system.

Everyone knows that the Unisaw is the Holy Grail of all saws, and it lives up to this reputation. Out of the box it was flawless. It required almost no further adjustment. Even with the crappy blade that comes with the saw, the cuts are near perfect. The cuts become perfect after you throw that blade away and replace it with a better one. I recommend the Forrest Woodworker II.

The 30" fence that came with this saw was in service about 10 minutes before I decided to replace it with the 52". The saw was a gift (great gift, huh) and had I ordered it myself, I would have ordered it with the bigger fence. I got on the Biesemeyer web site and bought the replacement front and rear rails to convert it to the larger fence. You only need to replace these components, as the fence is compatable with both. I bought the new components and "factory seconds", but they were in perfect condition.

I looked at the "other" saws and came within inches of buying one based on price. I even drove five hours to a competitive product's showroom to see their saw hands on. I'm glad that I didn't buy it because it doesn't compare to this unit. The Unisaw is easy to use, easy to set up and adjust, and makes woodworking a religious experience.

Would I recommend this saw? Yes! Yes! Yes! The only drawback to this saw is that most people wait too long to buy it.

Power Tool Accessories Review Excellent saw at a good price
I've wanted a Unisaw since first using one years ago in high school shop class. It was a good saw then; it's even a better one now.

The saw arrived on the date ... said it would. The delivery driver not only unloaded it from the truck, but wheeled it around to my shop behind the house and into the shop. Only gripe about Delta's packaging is that extension table wiggled loose from box and suffered minor damage. Delta should rework packaging so damage in shipment is minimized.

Assembly of saw was straightforward, following Delta's directions in the owner's manual. The fence did not arrive with the saw as ... informed me it had been damanged, and would send a new one as soon as possible. So for about a week I could only use the miter gauge and dream about ripping boards.

All told, once completely assembled, this saw lives up to my years of dreaming and anticipation of ownership. I look for several things in a table saw; accuracy of saw and fence, quiet operation, fit and finish, easy and safe to use. The Unisaw never lags in any of these requirements. The saw and fence were dead-on accurate out of the box. The start/stop button mounted to the left of the saw's center is the ideal location for the saywer. The stop button protrudes from the switch face, allowing me to turn the saw off with my knee if necessary. Handy thing when the cut sometimes goes a little awry. The start button face is recessed, so accidental starting is minimized. The blade guard isn't the greatest, but what OEM guard is? Still, it is better than the one on my last saw, and I plan to keep it in place for all through cuts until I can go aftermarket for a better guard.

The saw has plenty of power. Dadoing operations that would practically stall my old table saw barely lowers the RPM of this saw. Ripping thick stock should be no problem. The fit and finish of this saw are adequate, though the plastic motor cover kept wanting to slide down till I figured out how to secure it properly. I'd prefer it to be hinged rather than the way it attaches.
The saw starts and runs quietly. My last saw was terribly loud; even with hearing protection on it was a major distraction and made using the saw unpleasant. With the Unisaw, I can pick up a board and buzz it through without hunting around the shop for my ear muffs. It's that quiet.

...P>You can't go wrong with this saw. This particular configuration must be "optioned" up a bit at this price; i.e. you'll want the 30" extension table and a mobile base if your saw isn't destined to live in one designated spot in your shop. I got both for my small shop; makes the saw the perfect addition for it.

Power Tool Accessories Review Best saw I've ever used. This is comercial duty.
I've used Grizzly, Jet and older Delta table saws and this is hands down the best I've used yet. This is one of the strongest 3hp units available on the market. At 220v this saw puts out 12 1/2 amps. This added power lets you use wide kerf blades which allows for smooth cuts and no bogging down. This saw is smooth and quite and is very compact too. The reason for getting this saw is because I have limited space available and with a moble base, you'll hardley notice that this is even in your basement. The miter slots are precise with no binding or sloppiness. If you're looking for a new saw shop around and ask questions but I guarantee you'll be back for this. Please do yourself a favor, and save yourself money in the long run buy this one now. I've gone through two different table saws and wish I had purchased this one first.

Power Tool Accessories Review You pay for what you get
I've had numerous cordless products over the years but none compare to this combo kit. I have only had it 2 weeks and wanted to use it more before reviewing but I tell you, this is one nice set of tools. Although I learned a long time ago to pay the money and get the best, I continually look for "deals". Well, this is a deal. The combo gave me a good value on 4 tools, 3 of which I really wanted, with the light a good bonus.

Impressed with the comfort and power. My neighbor is really jealous so this is a side benefit. I look forward to many projects and will update from time to time.

Wasn't formerly a big DeWalt fan but now I'm sold.

Power Tool Accessories Review "THE" do-all kit
I don't know how I got along with out this kit. The power, battery life, quality, and durability of these Dewalt tools are top of the line. I'd say these rank at the top with the Makita and Milwaukee kits. The DC988 drill works great, even after 2-3 years of use it is still as strong. I had only a small gripe because of the stiff cluch (even the lightest setting was to strong). The DC390 circ saw is great for quick cuts (when you don't want to pull out the miter or cords and the regular circ saw). The new DC385 saw is strong and can take the punishment (only grip is the front guard is easy to cut into, especially now with the new design that allows the blade to be mounted sideways, but it causes no real functional issues).
The price you pay for the Dewalt is the only downside, it seems to be the most expensive kit. But if you already have 18V dewalt tools...

The only weak part of the kit is the batteries. They will be the part that breaks when you drop it (usually the case, but sometimes the solder joints) I can't say that the same thing won't happen to the other kits, so don't make more out of it than it is... just try not to drop them. (ha ha)
I would like to find out if a smart charger could be bought for the packs. One that can discharge the pack and then pulse/reflex charge them back up with a peak charge cut off (instead of a temp or timed cutoff) I don't think the DW charger does any of that.

Power Tool Accessories Review A thing of beauty...
Where do I start?

I used to be a professional door/window/storm door installer for Lowe's & Home Depot and ran through the gamut of tools in my travels. I began with some low volt Black & Decker's and moved to a 14.4 Firestorm. Well the removable chuck on the Firestorm died after about a month, though it was a nice feature, leaving me drill-less.

Step in DeWalt DC4KITA...

I purchased this kit and instantly fell in love. The power, the battery life, everything was extremely impressive. In fact, I loved it so much that I bought a second one for my father. From lag bolts to 4" wood screws to light duty drywall screws to paddle-bit drilling, the drill in this kit handles everything I continue to throw at it. The reciprocating and circular saws speak volumes about the DeWalt quality (thus I learned my lesson pertaining to Black & Decker <==> Consumer; DeWalt <==> Commercial). And the addition of the light is really just an added bonus. As for all-in-one packages, you will find no better choice than the DeWalt DC4KITA!

Power Tool Accessories Review Very good grinder for the price.
This grinder is very quiet and it has plenty of power to sharpen your blades. It does not vibrate like the other grinders that I looked at. I wish it had a light to go with the grinder though.

Power Tool Accessories Review Best Dremel to date
This is by far their best. I read the reviews here then bought it. You Want This One. Not sure if other reviewers mentioned, but the nose unscrews to reveal the standard thread for things like router bases.

I've had many Dremels over the years. I've even picked up a few "antique" ones from their early years. Cute for a few quick jobs like rubber wheel to polish carving tool edges, and nice to know they still run, but for hours of routing, get this one. Dial in just the right speed for bit and material and away you go. With much less noise too.

Now, as for dating your Dremel .... well

Power Tool Accessories Review Exactly what I expected...
..after reading many positive reviews first. I've had my 3981 for 2+ years and it's been handy for things I can and can't do with my other tools. Quality is very good, feels solid and like it will last. I like the electronic variable speed control and the soft start. Don't have the shaky switch problem that another reviewer had mentioned.

So far I use it to sharpen the lawn mower blade, make drywall cutouts for electrical outlets, trim the dogs nails, and probably half a dozen other little tasks.

The only drawback is that is has a cord(!) so we've decided to get the lithium cordless version as well.

Power Tool Accessories Review The lastest and the best
I bought my first Dremel (a Model 2) in 1947. It finally gave up in 1993. Since then I have added the single speed and multispeed Multipro models to my tool box. Now the digital model comes along and is the best of the best. Its soft start, dependable speed control, and high power make it equal to any job. It fits all the Dremel attachments making it every bit as adaptable as the others. It handles all the cutting, shaping, finishing, and polishing tasks involved in my construction of miniatures and architectural models.

Power Tool Accessories Review Great saw for the price.
I've owned this saw for two years now and I'm overall pleased with it. I've cut pipe, angle iron, rebar and auto bodies with mine, and of course the easy stuff like wood and light pruning. The saw is well balanced, fairly strong and well built. If I were to buy a recip saw today, I'd go for one with more power, say around 10 amps or so. Orbital cutting action would be nice as would an easier to use speed controller. The one on this saw is that screw in the trigger type that is rather differcult to adjust under its protective rubber boot. But once set, the speed stays fairly constant and will help increase blade life cutting metals. Many folks pass up these saws in favor of jig or circular types. But, if you remodel for a living, or just for your self, this type of saw is indespensible.

Power Tool Accessories Review What's a Sawzall?
If you've ever used a "Sawzall" or similar product, you know that the biggest drawback of any of these guys is vibration. These puppys just want to jump all over the place. Makita is famous for making vibrationless tools, and this is no exception. As soon as you pull the trigger, you'll notice how quiet this saw is. The biggest problem is the allen screw chuck, which is typical of all makes. There is now a keyless chuck model. I reccomend it. Still, unless you are changing blades alot, it's not a big deal. For remodeling. this tool is a must. Why force and split a 2x4 out of a frame when you can simply cut the nails and slide it out undamaged. Need to install a roof jack in a 2x6 T&G roof? This saw will cut circles around any thing else (litteraly). I don't use this tool every day, but when I need it, nothing else will do.

Power Tool Accessories Review excellent saw
I use this saw for everything: demolition, metal, even tree branches! It will cut anything you put to the blade. It's easy to handle and use whether you're ripping out door jambs, galvanized piping, or tackling some hefty tree branches (using 12" 6 TPI blade). Very powerful.

Power Tool Accessories Review best darned drill box I ever did own
what more can I say? If you're in the market for a high-end drill box, then this baby is your ticket. The features are too many to list here. I'll just say that this box has not disappointed me one iota. I was a little nervous at the time of ordering because of the countless sub-par boxes out there, but my anxiety disappated once I held this one in my hand. Pure quality. I even dropped it intentionally off of a three story building, and guess what? Not even a scratch. I highly recommend this drill box.

Power Tool Accessories Review Nice box, esp. for Amazon's price (w/ free shipping)
Nice metal drill box/case. Has a padded saddle which cradles the drill, keeping it from sliding around inside. Nicely made for the price. Amazon shipping was good -- box in box -- arrived undamaged. Nice size for holding drill and acc. Not too big. 1/2" 0302-20 fits perfect ...

Power Tool Accessories Review Terrific bargain
If you believe in protecting your tools, and at the prices tools go for why wouldn't you?, this Milwaukee Steel Carrying Case is is ideal. It's sturdy, roomy, and conveniently laid out. The locking mechanism is reliable, unlike other cases. If you are a professional or just handy around the house, this box is a necessity, not a luxury. And at Amazon's prices--a bargain.

Power Tool Accessories Review Amazing drill bits
If you want good, really really good, drill bits - GET THESE! The differance between these and cheap ones is unbelievable. Worth every penny. Accurately sized, finely machined, SHARP, properly ground angle, and somewhat larger sized index case with size markings that are easy to read. I first used these to drill some holes in metal for tapping. Granted I was using a drill press but I hardly felt any resistance at all in the handle. A perfect clean hole.

Power Tool Accessories Review A First Rate Vac
I have had my Alto Aero II for over two years now and have used it extensively, and it is still going strong even though I have probably over worked it by continually using a worn out cartridge filter. Because filters are rather expensive compared to Shop Vac brand I recommend this- always use the bag filters with your vacume, you can actually use Shop Vac brand bags, (at 1/3 the cost of Alto bags, and every hardware store carries them), this will make your cartridge last longer as well as making the whole process of cleaning a lot easier. For parts call Alto USA @ 800-237-2368, or American Cleanway @ 510-483-7394. I also use a Shop Vac which is actually just as quiet and performs just as well. The difference is that the Alto has better tools, nice detailing, and an electrical outlet for a sander or other tool for dustless working.

Power Tool Accessories Review ALTO 62313 Aero II 7-Gallon Wet/Dry Vac with Auto Start
It's a great vac! Lots of power and very quite. Like the other review finding bags and filters is complicated. Amazon has the bags (not that there customer support folks seem to know that fact) but no filters. Amazon referred me to the Alto Corporation and they will direct you to a local distributor. My representative in Elgin, Il was very helpful--Lorchem Technology 847.468.8800.

Power Tool Accessories Review Great Vac if you can find the bags
This is a great vac, strong, quiet, etc...., but don't buy one unless you find a source for the bags and filters. The bags are expensive as well. It doesn't come with many tools & the hose end doesn't fit other brands of attachments. Too bad the company that makes it doesn't understand the importance of supporting a great product with the items needed to use it! When I run out of bags it will get listed on e-bay!

Power Tool Accessories Review Top of the line
I had went thru about three craftsman saws when I decided to purchase a unisaw. I had held back sometime because of the cost.
When I started using it I knew why there was a difference in cost factor. I also wondered how my old saw was rated at 3 HP,when there is no comparison between it and the 3 HP unisaw. It was like changing from from a model T Ford to a new Cad. What a difference! I highly recommend spending a few more dollars and getting what you really want. Very satified with it and wished I had purchased it sooner.

Power Tool Accessories Review A reliable workhorse
In the three years that I've had the saw, I can't find one complaint. It's been up to the task on every occasion. I routinely rip and crosscut 8/4 oak, rock maple, and old growth locust - (the hardest wood that I've encountered), without a glitch. If you keep your blades clean, all that you'll hear from these saws is that familiar whistle that the blade makes when powered up. It seems to be saying, "Bring it"! What amazes me most is the lack of run out. To date, I haven't measured any. My dado set keeps advising me of it & I shim using their recommended sizes, but always end up with dado's that are too tight. This is a very precise machine. To any one considering the 36-821 Unisaw, I would highly recommend it. However, after your purchase, don't be too anxious to discard the blade guard. I've recently reinstalled mine to improve the performance of my dust collector. What a difference, who would have guessed that it's possible to run MDF without choking. The splitter also keeps the cut stock tight to the back of the fence. Thus, eliminating that left turn that long stock likes to make towards the back of the blade after being cut.

Power Tool Accessories Review Don't wait as long as I did....
When guys like "Norm" and others recommend the Unisaw, they are not kidding about how nice and smooth they cut compared to contractor type saws. Unisaws and all cabinet/type table saws are made for woodworkers. You can balance a nickle on it's edge, turn the saw on, shut it down, turn it on again - the nickle doesn't fall over. It's that smooth. I expect that most all cabinet saws are this good - I really don't know. The reason I like and recommend the Unisaw is that they are pretty much unchanged as far as internal parts are concerned. In other words, if your 1950 model Unisaw needs a new trunion - chances are it's still in stock. This tool definately falls into that category of "expensive but worth it."

Power Tool Accessories Review Beginning to look a bit worn and tired.
My cutter has cut everything from balsa to hardwoods, and even some wire and plastic. After two years it really isn't worn out, but I am now ordering a replacement-- just in case I need it in the next year or two. In answer to the last reviewer who wonders what bits are available to fit Dremel tools. If he would use the universal chuck he could use any bit he could shove into it down to sub-miniature bits like I use to drill holes through toothpicks used to make small parts on ship models.

Power Tool Accessories Review A GERAT CUTTER FOR USE IN PINE
I needed something that could cut through wood like butter and I found it! This great carbide slotting saw cuts through pine like nothing! If you take enough passes, you can cut right through! This bit hogs out alot of material. So if you like to use it for hobby work or if you need something that will hog out slots in wood quickly this is the one to get. In fact, I have almost used mine up to the point where I think it's time to get a replacement! I peronally reccomend that you use it in pine. it really lets the wood chips fly!
