Power Tool Accessories Review Second sander
I use this sander as a secondary in my shop. Changing out the attachments is time consumming.

Power Tool Accessories Review Not a bad sander to have around.....
I was looking for a small sander, so when I saw an add on TV for this Black & Decker unit with the dust accumilation it was interesting & checked out the reviews. So for the price took the plunge, it arrived the other day & tried it out. It doesn't pick up every piece of dust, but it does a darn good job. The collection cup does fill up fairly fast, so you have to keep an eye on it to see when it needs emptying, but that's no big deal if you pay attention. And the attachments are perfect for details such as corners or sligtly larger jobs. The velcro system of installing sanding pads is convient, haven't had to get new ones yet, so I don't know how much they cost. So the one downside of this sander it would have been nice to be able to adapt & use sandpaper sheets of one's own choosing. Overall I'm pleased with this item. It won't do the big job of a belt sander, but it doesn't pretend to be one.

Power Tool Accessories Review Excellent smoothness and stability
I would definately recommend this lathe to anyone but production woodturners. It's very smooth, especially after filling the hollow legs with sand. It has a much beefier spindle than the smaller Delta, which is a major consideration if you are turning larger bowls. As a matter of fact, I bought this lathe after killing the headstock on my smaller delta lathe doing just that. The Baldor motor and DC controls are very nice also.

My only qualm is with the control stalk. Due to it's position, it both picks up dust and is in the firing line for items that shatter while the lathe is at speed. Luckily it seems fairly beefy, as it withstood a large chunk of cherry at 1800 RPMs. Otherwise, this lathe is fantastic for the price. I'm very happy with mine.

Power Tool Accessories Review Very smooth lathe
I have had a 46-765x model for over a year now and I love it.I had a 46-700 12" lathe for quite a few years. The verable speed drive is awsome and is not to be confuised with the mechanical type.I added sand into the base pedestals and steel rod into the bed.I have the weight close to 700# now and it is very smooth. This lathe has not been recieved well in the woodturning world but I'm not sure why.Mine works great and as you see by the reviews most people who have these really like them. There are better lathes out there, but they cost alot more. The nova dr-3000 is compareable but I haven't used one.The 16" jet is also in the same price range and has a large following, although I'm not a fan of Jet. You just can't beat Delta for support in my experience

Power Tool Accessories Review Great Lathe for the price
I've had this lathe now for 10 months I have made all kinds of things on it. This machine is a serious work horse. I have not had any problems with it at all. If you are looking for a true value this machine has it all.

Power Tool Accessories Review DeWALT now makes the DW130v
So, I see no need for this drill when the DW130v is the same price. About the same drill with variable speed, 9 amps, 0-550 rpm. Great for mixing or chasing the old lady around the house with.

Power Tool Accessories Review very durable
I am a ceramic tile installer and this was my first tool. I bought it six years ago and it has lasted until this past september. I have mixed thousands of 5 gallon buckets worth of thinset mortar, wall mud, and drypack mortar with this tool. It was built correctly and has one purpose and does it well. Excellent tool, period.

Power Tool Accessories Review superduty drill
I build houses out of autoclaved aerated concrete. See www.safecrete.com for more on that. I use this drill to mix the thin-set mortar in 5 gallon buckets and to drill 3-4" holes through the solid aerated concrete blocks. This is the only drill for me. I have two, one for mixing and one for drilling, that way I never have to change them out and can have different tasks going at the same time. I recommend to all our new homeowners who want to do it theirself that they get one of these drills.
This drill is designed for serious power. The applications I have will burn up the best variable speed drill in a day. This drill is so strong it is dangerous. I have seen my drill put two guys teeth through their lips, one being my own. I was drilling through a concrete wall and ran into some rebar, ouch. One time I was drilling through a block and hit some steel and it jerked it out of my hands and the trigger was locked. It kept spinning until it pulled the power cord right out of the drill. Never use the trigger lock, it can get you hurt.
This drill is fairly heavy, it needs to be. If you want a drill for screwing buy a variable speed drill, this is not the one for you. There is nothing wrong with the drill. You just have to know what you need. If you need serious strength and toughness, this is the drill for you.

Power Tool Accessories Review big and loud
Compared to my 2 gallon Crafstman corded wet vac, this kinda sucks (no pun intended). It's far louder, bigger, bulkier, has less suction, and I guess I'm a bit disappointed. It's a pity though, because it's an idea that I've been waiting for ever since I bought their excellent 14.4V drill (and saw and light combo).

Power Tool Accessories Review DeWalt cord/cordless wet/dry vacuum
Although reconditioned, the unit looks and acts like new.
It is a powerful, portable, convenient vacuum.
For quick cleanups of small jobs (drilling holes for hanging pictures, etc.) or vacuuming the interior of your vehicle, this vacuum is excellent.

Power Tool Accessories Review Super handy and versatile
I just love this vacuum. I was looking for a product to replace my broken hand vac for jobs in the house and was also looking for a smaller shop vac for the garage. This item handles both tasks beautifully! I find excuses to use it. My blinds have been cleaned for the first time in years!

The item is more powerful and quieter than expected. I get about 20-25 minutes on an 18 volt XRP battery, but almost all vacuum jobs are much less than that. I love that it has the corded option if needed. The vacuum hose expands and contracts nicely. It also converts to a blower in seconds which has come in handy a couple of times already.

Be aware that the battery and charger are not included so the cordless option is really only practical if you already own compatible Dewalt cordless tools. Also, it does not come with many hose accesories, but I have several 1 1/4" add-ons from my broken hand vac that work great.

My refurb unit appeared brand new so don't be afraid to buy one and save a few bucks.

Power Tool Accessories Review Excellent Bit
This is an excellent bit. I have used it for frame-making so far--what a smooth finish! My only concern is the max speed rating, because my router runs at a fixed 23,000 rpm rate. Since I am running it faster than recommended, I have been making several thin shavings. This has worked fine, although I am still considering a new router with adjustable speed settings.

Power Tool Accessories Review panel bit
Checked all reveiews on this 3-1/2" bit with some mixed feelings, bought the bit anyway. I used it making raised panels for a chest, and what a job it did. No rough edges or fuzz and this was in pine.Be prepaired for a lot of dust and chips above your table, but it worked great.

Power Tool Accessories Review Glass Smooth, Glass Smooth, Glass Smooth
I bought this bit as part of Freuds cabinet making set. I hooked it up to a table that I have Bosch's 3 1/4hp plunge router mounted to. I forgot about the necessity of setting the speed slower to accommodate larger bits and sent the 3/4" piece of oak sailing through at the full setting. Out came a silky smooth panel. It didn't chip, sputter, kick, wobble, or even slow down the router. I wonder what it would be like if it wasn't a brand new bit with a fresh edge on it. Anyhow, I use the bit now at a slower speed setting, and make multiple passes.
Freuds cabinet making set is so well made, that their is little motivation to pick up a shaper. Shapers are known for 10,000 RPMs, thereby creating panels in a single pass that are smooth.
I have never bought a bad Freud bit. Them and Whiteside are my pride and joys. I also recommend picking up an inexpensive carbide tipped set on eBay that are imported. You can get a large selection of profiles and types for the cost of a couple of bits. When making painted moldings for example, you don't need the ultimate in sheen on the wood surface. Although with the dollar conversion and the daily monetary needs overseas, it is amazing how much quality can be produced for such a little bit of money.
Freud and Whiteside are the best, although their are several manufacturers, such as CMT and Viper that are quality bits as well. This Freud cabinet making bit is worthy of your best projects. Buy it you won't be sorry.

Power Tool Accessories Review SANYO WINE COOLER
Functions as advertised. Instructions were complete. Could be upgraded by having Sanyo install a thermometer.

The unit visually is the equal of other hardware in the kitchen annex where it sits on a counter.

I am going to install some exterior side wall insulation blocks covered with thin veneer hardwood to reduce cold loss. To the hand, the box insulation must not be quite thick enough to retain more cold.

Bottom line: I would do it again.

Power Tool Accessories Review Great little cooler!
This wine cooler is certainly not top-of-the-line, but it is perfect for the average wine drinker (like myself). It is nice looking, and holds a consistent temperature. One small drawback is that it does not have a temperature gauge built in-- I had to buy one.

Definitely would purchase this again... the wine does taste better!

Power Tool Accessories Review Very good wine cooler at reasonable price
The Sanyo 24 bottle wine cooler is about the best on the market for this size. Construction quality is quite good. I managed to fit 27 bottles of cabernet (7 on bottom shelf). The temperature control was perfect with the normal setting measured by my thermometer at 55 degrees, ideal for long term storage of fine wines. I got tired of my wine spoiling after a few months, even in the basement, and the good stuff is getting outrageously expensive. I now feel much more confident in storing. Big thumbs up.

Power Tool Accessories Review Great HVLP Sprayer
Bought the CH HV2500 to paint all the cabinets in my house. Had never used a sprayer before. Took me six days to prepare the cabinets (remove hardware, wash, sand, prime, tape off face etc), and only about three hours to spray the whole job, 62 cabinets. I sprayed acrylic latex. The hardest part was in getting this thick paint thinned down to the correct viscosity. I also used Floetrol to help the latex lay flat. Once I discovered the correct mix, the CH HV2500 put on a mirror-like finish. I am very happy with this product.

Power Tool Accessories Review Good product, easy to use and clean.
I purchased the HV2500 to paint louver closet doors in our house, 18 panels. These panels were stained. A good primer coat, and a nice finish coat was all it took. I had never used a HVLP paint sprayer before. I found the HV2500 easy to use and clean. You have to really mix the paint well after thinning for a nice even spray. The doors came out marvelously! There was a problem with shipping. The paint canister was bent. Amazon sent out a new unit really fast. The return process on line was quick and easy to use...no problems. The second unit arrived slightly damaged again. This time a small rubber caster was broken off on the turbine. I was able to fix that myself. I think the cardboard box packing needs a new design. The price was great. I opened a new Amazon charge, received $50 off, free shipping...wow how cool is that! I tried to paint flat wood doors, that project did not come out so well. Your really have to spray lots of paint for a good coat finish. Hand painting is better. I am planning to use the sprayer on the deck this spring. One more thing, being new to spray painting, the spray goes everwhere, I rigged up a spray booth in the garage with heavy duty plastic drop cloths stapled to the beams. I covered everything I could. Happy painting!

Power Tool Accessories Review great hvlp sprayer
we've been waiting to purchase an hvlp sprayer and have been experimenting with much more pricey outfits (1,000-2,000)We were in a pinch and decided to buy this outfit because we needed one asap. we figured it would hold us over till we could get one of the outfits we had been looking at purchasing. what a surprise! this is a great hvlp. we've used it numerous times now. no hassle to set up. no hassle to use. no hassle to clean. the hose is great for getting behind larger pieces and the spray flow is perfect to use with lacquer or poly. (although the 2 stage won't accomodate paint) we are so happy with it that we are going to stick with this one!

Power Tool Accessories Review Save fingers, more comfortable on table saw and shaper
I have used this on shaper and table saw. It works great on both of them. Though It took some time to get used to in using the feeder, got used to it after some time. I think there is an opportunity to provide better documentation. I have cut 10' long hardwood with consistant results, which is not possible with out this power feeder. In addition to quality cuts I appreciate the safty it provides using both table saw and the shaper.

Power Tool Accessories Review Great small feeder for the money!!!
This was an excellent safety addition to any shaper. When swinging carbide that fast, the further I can keep my hands from it the happier I am. The power feeder came with a peel off template that made drilling and tapping for mounting bolts a piece of cake. Take the time to read the instructions, and get familair with the device. The fact it keeps constant speed has made all my door styles/rails and mouldings picture perfect whether they are 12" long or are 12' long. As usual, Delta provides a good product for the money.
Plan on spending 1 hour to mount the power feeder. I chose to grind off the front portion of the wheel guard so I could get it tighter to the feence for smaller moulding. Leave enough guard to prevent damage to the wheels, but it 1'4 from the side, and 12" wide mae a huge difference for tightness to the fence. I recommend purchasing a drill and tap set and tapping the table top. Much easier than trying to fish under, get through any reinforcement webbing and locate nuts.

Power Tool Accessories Review Save your fingers!
Over the years I've seen and heard of some horrible accidents in wood shops. Although it's not a standard piece of equipment in most shops, the shaper remains one of the most common culprits for accidents. I myself once had a piece of 3/4 x 3/4 trim fire like an arrow out of a shaper (the finger boards holding the stock had vibrated loose) narrowly missing a guy jointing lumber and bursting into toothpicks when it hit a block wall 15 feet away. I'm sure it would have gone right through him had he been standing 2 feet to the left. That and a couple of other shaper incidents have brought me to the conclusion that one of the best safety devices you can put on a shaper is a stock feeder. Nothing will ever replace common sense or care in using a shaper, but a stock feeder keeps your hands and fingers well away from the cutter head and they provide accurate feeding, positioning and control of material as it is fed against the cutter. Finger boards, hold-downs and positioning jigs are important, but ultimately it's the feeder that ensures constant feed speed and total control. I bought my feeder with my shaper (Delta 3 HP model) and would never consider running the shaper without it. I do everything in my power to avoid using the shaper "free-hand"; on cuts where the use of a feeder is impossible (such as the rails on frame and panel doors) I have jigs with integrated hold downs that achieve the control and positioning of stock while keeping my digits where they belong... as far away from that cutter head as possible.

This model from Delta is a very versatile performer, can be positioned in virtually any position or configuration you can think of, and the ability to run it in reverse is very useful in certain situations. Mine is somewhat older and it appears that there have been some design changes and a few components have been changed over to plastic. However, overall it appears to be the same device. Everything is very solidly built and absolutely rigid when locked down. However, if care is not taken during set-up a feeder can also pull pieces directly into or away from the cutter head and it will drag unsecured items such as fence plates into the cutter head too. Check everything prior to turning anything on and then check it again... it could save you more than a ruined piece of wood. The only criticism I have of Delta shapers is the fact that you have to drill the holes in the cast iron table yourself. I can understand why they don't drill holes in a table saw top by default, but a shaper? It's not too arduous to do this, but really this should be something that is done right in the factory even if you don't get a feeder with your shaper (the holes would not interfere or effect the use of the shaper in anyway). If your buying a shaper put a feeder in your budget, you will never regret the decision.

Power Tool Accessories Review Good grinder, but they stopped thinking a little too soon
I just got this unit from Amazon (a GREAT store)and put it together. I am very pleased with the smoothness of operation (inifinetly better than my old Craftsman grinder), but less than pleased with the not very well thought out scheme for attaching the plastic vision safety guards and and the aluminum pedestals for supporting the piece you are grinding. The former attach to steel brackets that can easily come in contact with the grinding wheels (not good) and the latter are only supported on one side and as such can tilt when you apply pressure to a piece being ground (not good, either).

The instructions are also quite poor in showing how to assemble the accesories. It reads like it was written by someone for whom English is a second language.

Also, wish it had a brake as the grinding wheels spin a LONG time after you power off.

Overall, a good tool, but one whose designers stopped thinking too soon when designing it.

Power Tool Accessories Review A Great Bench Grinder!
This bench grinder is one of the best that I have ever used. I have owned both a Craftsman and a Delta 6" bench grinder in the past, and the new Dewalt really stands out both in quality and strength. The only drawback that I have found is that when removing the wheel cover on either side, one of the screws is close to the bottom and it is very inconvenient to get a screwdriver on it. This is merely an incovenience and has nothing to do with the performance of the grinder. I am very pleased with my purchase, and if I ever have a need for a second grinder I will purchase another one just like it.

Power Tool Accessories Review Perfect for home use
I have used an 8 inch Jet grinder for years at my job. It performed it's job perfectly over a decade of day-to-day abuse. But for home use, I decided it was overkill. I had looked at the various Delta bench grinders, but wasn't impressed with the reviews they were given. They also seemed underpowered... And Baldors are just too expensive. That left me with the Dewalt.

I have been pleased with this grinder, although I have only had it for a month. It has plenty of power for sharpening dull lawnmower blades, chisels, punches, you name it. It comes with two grinding wheels of differing grit, and between the two grits, you should be covered for 99% of any sharpening chores. Although it would be wise to also buy a wire brush wheel for metal cleaning and deburring.

The unit seems well constructed. Everything assembled easily and seemed well made, although I would have liked to have seen slightly stronger tool rests. But atleast they were stronger than what I saw on other grinders I looked at.

I would easily recommend this for home or small shop use. It's a great value at this price.

Power Tool Accessories Review Instructions Incorrect!
When a chainsaw is sharpened, the sharpening tool is always referenced to the top of the cutting tooth (see the sharpening instructions from any saw chain manufacturer).

However, on Dremel attachment 1453, front of box, the picture shows the guide riding on the chain's depth gauge instead. Printed instructions on the back of the box (and supported with pictures) confirm this error for both left and right teeth.

To further confuse matters, the instruction sheet inside the box describes a method where the guide rides on top of the tooth for one side of the chain, but on top of the depth gauge for the other side! This is also incorrect, in addition to contradicting the instructions on the box.

Nonetheless, the device works adequately, especially if the user modifies the procedure to cause the guide to ride on top of the cutters for both sides of the chain.

In my opinion, this would become an excellent attachment if the instructions were rewritten, the pictures on the box replaced by correct ones, and the guide manufactured as a mirror image of the one presently sold. This would allow sharpening both sides from the non-engine side of the saw, thereby allowing two more teeth to be sharpened before chain repositioning. On an 18 inch bar this amounts to five rather than three teeth for left side cutters - a 67 percent improvement.

I have e-mailed Dremel with some of these observations, but received no reply!

Power Tool Accessories Review It works...
My chainsaw is sharp once again, so I'd say it works without killing me too badly to do it. Pretty quick and easy actually. Ahhh... now the fun part, cutting down trees, loading them, splitting them, stacking them, burning them...

Power Tool Accessories Review Best Sharpening I ever had
Previous to spending 10 bucks for the Dremel Sharpening attachment, I was taking my chains to a professional to have them sharpened. It pays to follow the directions in setting up the sharpener correctly, but, once you do, you'll get the BEST sharpening job ever. My sharpening job with the sharpener was far superior to any of the sharpenings that I ever got from a professional. Plus, the professional guys ground an 1/8th inch or so off of the teeth each time they sharpened my chains, when, in fact, all they needed to do was to put a sharp edge on the teeth. The Dremel sharpener works magnificently and gives you a phenomenally sharp edge that will last a long time [as long as you keep your chain out of the dirt!] For the price of this product, it simply can't be beat.
