Well BalancedThis drill packs alot of power for only 4.9 amps. The tool is very well balanced and very quiet. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the "unremoveable" chuck. The owners manual does not give any instructions on how to remove nor is there any discernable fiting inside the chuck. All in all a good drill with ample power. Remember Makita makes their own motors.
The chuck is removableAfter breaking the keyless chuck (don't ask). I too was stumped as to how to remove it. I finally decided I had nothing to lose by taking the drill apart. After clamping the broken end of the chuck in a vise, I was able to apply enough force to the gear to unscrew the shaft from the chuck. A new replacement chuck screws back on the same way.
This is a great drill and I'm very pleased with it's performance.

Solid performance, for a 12v...This is one of the few 12v drills available with a 1/2" chuck- that gives you more options for bits. The NiMH batteries are better than NiCad and are less harmful for the environment when they're disposed of. With any 12v or 14.4v or even 18v drill, you'll always want to have one battery charging while you're using the other. 12v batteries don't last as long as 18v ones. However, as long as you have easy access to the charger it's not too big of a deal.
I've mixed paint, thinset, joint compound, and concrete with it- no problems. I use it nearly everyday in my remodelling business. I've had it a year and just replaced the trigger switch. It cost $18 and a few phone calls over my lunch break to find a local shop with the part in stock. No big deal.
Overall, the best 12v drill I've used.

Good retrofit for an old routerI bought this kit hopeing that it would fit on an old Craftsman 315 series router, so that I can make dovetails on the Porter Cable 4112 dovetail machine. The Milescraft website is not clear whether or not it will fit, but sure enough it does.
Comes with 3 bushings...an 3/4" OD, a zero clearance (not sure how to use it), and a bushing to accept Porter Cable template guides. Centering pin is handy as well.
Overall, it is 100% plastic, but very ridgid plastic. Outside of buying a new router, this was the next best thing.
4 stars becuase it is all plastic and the Milescraft website does not clearly detail ALL routers that this will fit (mine was not included in Milescraft's list).

Does what it says. After reading a couple of Internet reviews, I ordered this from Amazon. I have only experimented on a couple of pieces of MDF, but I had little trouble impressing my wife. Maybe she's easily impressed! Since I am still getting used to a plunge router, my only mistake was the depth slipping a little since I did not have it locked tight enough. No damage fortunately other than to the pattern. You may end up with a lot of extra plastic pieces. Turning the pattern is a bit of a pain since the pieces fit together rather snugly. Once you have it clamped down on the work piece, you really can't get your fingers around the template to lift it out. Hopefully over time, this will get a little wear around the edges, and the fit won't be so tight. The turn-lock base place, bushing guides, etc. are all extra pieces that I don't need. I end up with three pieces that I do need. Actually four if you count the fact the base plate is two half pieces that snaps together. Knowing this now, it seems a bit pricey for $35.00. Maybe Milescraft should offer a basic set without the turnlock plate, etc. I have to strongly disagree with another reviewer on a different Milescraft item as to their customer service. It has been great. I asked a couple of questions before purchasing the Spirocrafter concerning my base plate on a PC 891 router. Their response was very quick and courteous. I am also looking at the Signcrafter, again a courteous and quick email response in less than an hour, but I will again have a lot of extra pieces with the turnlock plate included in this also.

Milescraft 1390 Drill 90I am extremely pleased with this right-angle tool. It is well constructed and made drilling through the wall studs a breeze, all at an affordable price. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is beacuase it does not have a keyless chuck - or at least a place to store the key.
Milescraft 1390 right angle drill extention.Solid. Feels tight, hefty. Chuck included. Home(USA)-made.

Great Quality, easy use...exceptI've been using this tool every day for the past month for hanging drywall, fastening cement board, putting down decking and installing wood plank flooring. It has performed admirably and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase and use this tool again. For the price it is an excellent value - even when compared with other brands such as DeWalt, Makita, etc.... The "no-slip" depth adjustment is a great feature when you take of the gauge to back out screws - you just put the gauge back on without concern for readjustment, it's always right on.
My only reservation is the adjustment of the depth gauge itself. It becomes noticebly more difficult to use after only a little dust has collected - a frequent occurance with drywall and cement board. I found myself cleaning and lubing this part once a day when it was in constant use. If you're using the tool for the same depth all the time, I suppose this isn't a concern. Other than this one bad tick , the tool is very well made (it's a Milwaukee after all) and very easy to use.

milwaukee magnumOur shop has been using the same 1/2" magnum for the past 10 -15 years. My employees have been droppping it on concrete floors, and abusing it the entire time, and it still works great. The drill has plenty of torque, so when drilling large diameter holes you better be holding the drill tight. Note: only buy one with a Jacobs keyed chuck. The Keyless chucks are junk. When drilling a larger diameter hole, it is difficult to get the keyless chuck tight enough to hold the bit. Otherwise, a magnum with a standard chuck is probably the best hand drill of this size ever made.

Sturdy, well-made caseThis case is expensive, but it is difficult to find a case the right size for a worm or hypoid saw. It has a nice hook that catches the front of the saw plate, and felt padded risers that hold the saw. I wanted a case that wasn't too bulky, unlike most plastic cases. The only thing that I do not like about the case is that it is about 6" longer than the length of the saw, which is nice for extra blades, accessories, etc., however because of this the saw's center of gravity is offset from the axis of the carrying handle, making the case out-of-balance in you hand.
