The 6078 grinder/sander with a 9" grinding wheel is a force to be respected! I've used it to clean up welds, cut metal, sand and also to buff out a boat hull. This is a heavy tool, you will feel your arms at the end of the day! Its weight along with the centrifical force generated by the 9" wheel work together to steady the cut. The variable speed comes in handy to match the tool to the job.

I can't say enough for the electronics end of this laser level. I am a cabinet maker and finish carpenter and they are a joy to use. Not only do I use them to establish a level line on the wall for base cabinets, but I use the receiver to line up the front top edge of the base cabinets. Once I get the back edge level, I clamp the receiver to the front of the cabinets and lay down on my back to extend the adjustable legs I installed on my cabinets. I don't have to keep an eye on the level because I can listen to the audible beeps. Works great! I give it an A+ in overall use and quality. However, the included floor to ceiling pole is poor at best. It has graduated lines, no measuring tape and the worst part of it, it's round in shape. So once you get it all leveled, if you need to slide it up or down, it's impossible to keep leveled because it tends to twist as you move it up or down. That means more setup time. I recommend buying this in a package that doesn't include the pole and then buy the Laserjamb brand pole ...also sold on this website. It's square in shape, has a measuring tape on the side and has a very handy feature, some predrilled adjustable stops for repetitive setups. Also, you can drill your own stops and use the existing hardware.

I have a jet drill press with a really large quill (75mm) and was having problems finding a mortisising attachment that would fit my press.

Amazon had incorrectly listed two quill sizes for this mortising attachment that is NOT supported - 66mm and 75mm.

I ordered this product, only to find out that it would not fit my press, so I sold it to a freind of mine, who seems to be really pleased with it...

These creations are wonderful. They install quickly and easily and will cut precision mortises at depths that are easily controlled with a drill press. If you like building furnature with real professional quality joints this is the tool to make the hard parts simple.

First of all, this is NOT a 1/4" bit... it's the standard 1/8" drywall bit. It has the standard cutting tip that will cut right through items below the sheetrock so be careful. Guidepoint bits have a quarter inch or so at the tip with no cutting area, so they will break before cutting into studs and such under the drywall...

That said, the entire rotozip concept rocks!

....I find that this is a very nicely engineered tool. It is easyto set up after watching the video, though the written instructionsare poor. Some of the non-essential parts are poorly machined, but this does not effect their performance, just their asthetics. I would recommend this tool for anyone who would like a duplicator regardless of the lathe that you own. With a little help from Vega and Amazon, my duplicator fit my vintage Oliver lathe perfectly.

Positives:

-- Includes 8 bushings and two locknuts (for use on two routers concurrently) -- most template sets include [only] 7 bushings.

-- Bushings and locknuts are all brass, so they are impervious to water/moisture -- should last a lifetime.

-- If a rotating router bit (e.g., tapered dovetail bit), touches a bushing made of steel, sparks will fly, and the router bit will likely be ruined. With a brass bushing, the bit will likely survive intact. E.g., once, near the end of a day of routing doors for hinges, my template's locking ring came loose, allowing the guide to touch the spinning bit and the locking ring to rub against the router-bit lock nut. Since the guide and ring were brass, no noticeable damage to the bit or router occurred.

-- Molded plastic case offers excellent protection against damage. There's no extra storage area, but none should be needed.

-- Each bushing is machined from one piece of brass -- fine tool markings from a metal lathe are visible.

-- This set costs less than Porter Cable's or Milwaukee's steel bushings.

-- Because these bushings protrude beyond the router base by only 1/4" or so, they work fine on Leigh dovetail jigs. They should also work on any router jig for the same reason.

Negatives:

-- The bushings would look better if they were polished; in fact, I polished one just to see (click See Customer Images, above). On the other hand, if polished, they will probably tarnish.

I ordered the Delta 14-651 during the special promotion. Even though the shipping box was okay, the head was cracked. The head does not attract a magnet, so it is not iron. It looks and feels to be cast aluminum, maybe magnesium. Amazon told me to send it back for a refund, they are all out. Not sure if I will return it or take it to a Delta repair center. To bad. Besides the head, the rest of the machine looks to be cast iron. After all this time, I am suprised Delta has never fixed the problem.

Cons: I don't understand why Delta put plastic/rubber fence lockdown knobs on such a well built machine. I broke one on the first day and the other is soon to follow. I'll have to engineer a better quality knob since Delta doesn't know how to. Other than that, and the other minor issues discussed in other reviews, I am pleased with the performance and body construction. I'd buy it again if the price needs was under $200.00 due to the average quality bits.
