Poor Customer ServiceWhen I received this item I read inside the box that I was to receive a free Bonus 21 piece accessory tool kit with this item. So far I have contacted the vendor over 5 times and still can't get this issue resolved. I definitely would not order from this vendor again.
Great WorkhorseThis compressor has exceeded any expectation that i had for it. I have used it to remodel a house. It has kept up and i have never had a problem with it. It was packaged in a Campbell Hausfeld box that was turned inside out. The box used was from another air compressor that Campbell Hausfeld makes and showed the "free acessory kit" that was mentioned in a previous review. This compressor deserves a six star rating. I would recomend this compressor to anyone from the home do-it yourselfer to the professional carpenter. You can't beat the price especially when the free shipping is included!!!
Solid PerformerThis compressor has been reliable and exceeded my expectations so far. I am a professional fence builder and have put this unit to the test. So far this compressor has held up like a champ. No stalls no hiccups no problems. As far as a free accessory kit???? with this, all I can say the compressor has been total bang for the buck and it is not fair to slam this item with one star because you want something for nothing. I would recommend this to any professional out there looking for value.

Premium priced product that doesn't last, there are better value for money alternatesMy DC07 animal is barely two years old and bits are breaking off already. Factor in the high purchase price with the cost of replacement parts and this is a very expensive machine to own. For a lower cost of ownership buy a fantom cyclone, dirt devil cyclone or similar and throw away when it finally breaks down.
I expect premium priced products to have better perfomance and last longer. check out the Consumer Reports, its not even the best vacuum - and the better ones cost less.
The only reason I gave one star is because that is the minimum. 0 stars from me

Beyond beliefI bought this same dyson new and have yet to be disappointed. I have 3 great danes and 3 cats not to mention my 2 kids and all their friends that over non stop. I was averaging one vacuum every year. I've had this one over a yr and its still going as strong as the day I bought it. I will NEVER buy another brand of vacuum. By far the best vacuum I have ever owned or used.
Outstanding PerformanceVery happy with the purchase. I vaccumed a room with my old vaccum and then used the dyson on the same room. I was suprised to see the amount of dirt this one could suck up again.

Works well but Cheaply madeAgree with prior reviews and clamping solutions,if the guide block moves you will be up for alot of work correcting the miss drilled holes.
The guide block is high quality, but the jig that holds and aligns is made of cheap stamped steel which twists out of alignment and must be bent back to 90degrees from time to time. I encountered this problem with 2" hardwood the guide shimmed out using .50 tenon stock.
The 12" tenon stock is very strong, works well with the system and is readily available. The advantage over the dowelmax is you can cross peg for a mechanical lock.
Journeyman should make a higher quality holding jig.

very easy loose tennonsBeadlocks makes it very easy to make loose tennons. Some small issues:
1. Many people have problems with the tennon stock fitting too tightly; cooking it in the oven at 170F for about 30 minutes gets the water out and helps them fit. Still a tight fit.
2. I had severe problems with the inner guide moving within the jig while drilling. The supplied thrumbscrews do not have enough surface area to stop the guide from slipping. I replaced one of the thumbscrews with a 1.5" star knob on a 1/4-20 stud, and now it works like a champ, no more slipping problems.
3. You will need a high quality clamp to hold the jig in place. An Irwin quick clamp will not work... the jig will move. I am using a bessey heavy duty tradesman clamp, and have had no problems.
It is a convenient way to make loose tennons... I made up 20 joints in about 3 hours one night.
3 stars because the jig is pretty rudimentry, just a bent piece of steel with a cast drilling guide. If you want to join anything other then 3/4" stock,. then you have to use spacers which can make it harder to drill precision holes (can easily allow the guide to twist and you to drill a bit off of 90 degrees to the wood)I think they could improve it greatly (more along the lines of the dowelmax kit, which is designed to let you precisely drill the holes in the center of any thickness of stock), maybe with a built in clamp to hold it onto the work.

A really helpful tool!I have to concur with the opinions of the reviewer below: this is a pretty useful tool. I bought it because I'm remodeling my workshop and can't set up for normal mortise and tenon construction, but I still have to finish some small projects.
To keep the work piece stable, I just placed the wood and the jig into a machinist's vise. No movement whatsoever. (The manufacturer also recommends using a vise, if available.) For metal vises, I'd recommend padding the rear jaw with a thin strip of rubber or soft wood to avoid marring the work piece. The front jaw contacts the jig, not the work piece, so no worries there.
To prevent the jig block from sliding, I simply put a " lock washer under each knob provided. Worked like a champ, even when I added all the shims.
The only drawback is the relatively expensive tenon stock, hence the four-star rating. The manufacturer sells router bits to make your own but it'll cost you to get set up properly. More info can be had at their home page: http://www.beadlock.com/

Great planer, insufficient dust hoodThis is an insignificant item and I am only reviewing it to point out the important problem with dust control.
I got onto the www with the idea of a simple upgrade from my screaming Sears vac. Instead I found a huge amount of fairly alarming and potentially expensive dust control informaton. The health risk factors are evidently more critical than we thought.
It turns out that dust control hoods on devices like planers should have at least 4" and hopefully 5" connections. The volumn of shavings and dust is just too much for the typical shop vacuum to keep up with unless you clean the filter continually and have some kind of cyclonic pre-vac seperator.
So, dust hoods should be standard and they should be compatible with the best dust collection machinery and methods.
I agree with the overwhelming number of reviewers who think the Makita planer itself is a great machine, but the dust hood really needs some work.

Updated review 3/29
Since the initial review I have modified my dust collection system with a Fein vac and a system of tubes, blast gates, etc. Before I just hooked up my shrieking Sears shop vac directly. I now use a tapered connector from the hood to the hose and that has made a big difference. I do not think the Fein is any more powerful. In any event, all the chips are being evacuated properly. It seems that the hood requires a perfect, smooth connection to work properly. So, now I will upgrade this a couple of stars, but the use of a weird outlet size that requires odd or home-made connectors is still bad and so 3 stars it is. Hmm, can't change the stars. Oh, well.

It works greatPulls out most of the chips coming off the blade (95-100%). Installs quickly and easily. Only minor drawback is that it blocks the wing on the outgoing side from folding up, unavoidable I suppose. I would like to see an option for a 4'' connect.
Makita Dust HoodI have yet to install this on my planer, but it appears to be of solid construction, heavy plastic in the Makita blue tradition with a black, steel connecting bracket.

Piece of JUNKI probably had less than 30 minutes use of this thing before knowing it was junk. I wrote a note to Milwaukee about it and they offered to fix it. Not what I wanted because I knew alrady it was never going to be good. But sent it in and they put $45 in parts. Believe it or not but since I have used it hours and still hate it! But has not given any more mechanical problems. Only worst engineered tool Milwaukee probably ever made. I don't think any other random orbit sander has no brake system! I used a De Walt many hours before buying this thing and only reason for not buying De Walt is that I don't like their products. Biggest mistake yet! I recommend the DE Walt!
Little sander packs a punch! This sander is a replacement for my old Porter Cable. I am very impressed with this unit. It has more than enough power and the vibration from the unit is very minimal. With my old Porter it would take twenty minutes after sanding to get feeling back in my hand. The only downside to this product is the housing. The plastic used for this is slick and shiny. I am hoping after continued use it will wear a bit. This sander is already my favorite over my Mikita and Porter Cable.
An awesome little sanderI bought this sander about 8 months ago to replace an old Makita pad sander. I've used it frequently and have had excellent results. It starts very smoothly, runs quietly and virtually vibration-free and does a great job with all grits and on every surface I've used it on. I've used it all types of wood and even some metal. It leaves no swirl marks, even when pressing down hard. About the only minor issue I've found with it is that it gets pretty warm right on top where your palm rests. It's not a big problem and it's really just a very minor annoyance and doesn't detract from the sanding capabilities in the least. This is a great little addition to any serious woodworker's shop.

it doesnt fit!I bought this so i could use it with a toro rake and vac.model # 51573 It doesnt fit!!!! If anybody reads this and can get it to fit a toro of any type, please let us know. Im sure it works well with something, but the ad says it will fit ALL gas and electric blowers. Im a sucker!!!
Yes - It Can Fit Toro Blowers !This is in response to Mark Horton. Not sure how to get the comments to him. Maybe he will read this. I went to Lowes and they had my Model Toro Blower. They also have the Weedeater Blowers and the Gutter attachment sold separately. They had the gutter attachment pieces laying out on the display shelf and so I experimented in the store with how to hook it up to the Toro. It hooks up fine if you go to the area where they sell PVC pipe and look for a rubber 3" X 3" coupling with the metal screw clamps on each end. I brought it home, hooked it up directly to the straight lengths not using the lower elbow and adapters. I hooked it up directly to the Blower body and positioned the screw clamp on the underside where the Toro plastic safety and electric housing lines up. I connected the housing and then held it tightly in place with cord wrapped around and tied to the handle. But the rubber coupling holds the blower elements very firm and no way it will come loose if screws are tightened. Works great !!

Too pricy.. get the CraftsmanAlthougth the RotoZip is a fine tool, so is the Craftsman All-In-One cut tool. It is available in a kit that includes the rotary tool, plunge router base, circle cutter attachment, free-form handle, wrench and 2-bits. How Much? On sale at 39.95 compared to $49 for the RotoZip router attachment alone.
Waaay over priced, @ list price.A body would have to have more bucks than IQ points to pay the list price of $$ for this device. I got a RZ Kit for my B'day and what a tool. I'm happy as a pig in. The Plunge Router attachment does work exceptionally well and far more manuverable that the bulky standard routers I own. They are destined for table installations. I recommend the RZ kit with the router attachment and zip blade/cut off attachment head included. Although RZ could have brightened the packaged accessories with a couple additional 1/4" router bits; to give a new owner the pleasures of rounding off or smoothing up a couple plank edges.
Handy HelperI had been using my Roto zip as a freehand router with the original base and couldn't get the results I needed as a professional. Now with this new base, I get excellant results every time. No need to drag out the full size router each time I have a couple of hinge mortises to do. It is easy to hold, even when mortising jambs in place, freehand. Worth the money.

I prefer the DeWalt bitsI first because very impressed with cobalt bits after drilling a ton of holes in 1/4 red iron with dewalt bits and the bosch just don't last nearly as long. without a pilot hole the bits above 3/16" wear out much faster than the dewalts. It's the nicest case for drill bits i've ever had though so it gets' three stars, when one brakes or wears out, i just replace it with a dewalt...
great bitsthe bits are great and go through anything, though i wish the case would fit into the drill's carrying case. in any event the bits are excellent.

Great idea, bad materials?I ordered this kit because it looked like a great new way to use hole saws. They are sharp and cut well but the big problem is the arbor, it's absolute junk. I don't know about you but when drilling holes with larger bits it's easy to have them hook and stop suddenly. With the old type of arbor, all you had to worry about was smashing your knuckles in tight quarters, or maybe a broken wrist or two :) The arbors for this set bend very easily when they hook. I've gone through three and the third was my last one. I doubt that I drilled 20 holes with the three arbors. Maybe if I was using a drill press to drill holes in wood that's clamped down to the table it might work well. Hopefully another company will make a set that actually works.
Excellent design and valueIf you don't want to spend over $250 for a set of carbide hole saws, then this is as good as it gets at a fraction of a carbide set's price. The best feature about this Bosch set is the terrific quick-connect mandrel system. The hole saws, regardless of size, snaps in and out of the mandrel easily -- no tightening or screwing needed. The saws are sharp. I used the set to install locksets in two metal-clad wood doors without breaking into a sweat. Highly recommended.

Noone told me.....NOWHERE!!!!!!! does it say you have to OWN a FEIN power tool to use this friggin overpriced krap blade to use it. This is FALSE advertising in the truest sense if you ask me. I think, oh, maybe I should look into a Fein powertool to use my new $40 blade that has its own limited lifetime......well....the powertool that you have to have to use this little gem costs over $350+ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL
Grout Removal BladeThis blade is a must if grout is to be removed where a bad ceramic tile is to be replaced. First, use this blade to cut away the grout around the tile piece. Second, use a hammer drill or hammer and chisel to break the tile, working at the center and moving to the edges. Third, cleanup the mastic/thinset using any or all of these tools.
