Power Tool Accessories Review Buy another brand
I purchased this tile cutter at Menards for $49.00. I cut 2pcs of 1/2" 18"x18" travertine stone tile and the motor quit. I had to use my Dewalt angle grinder to finish the job.

Power Tool Accessories Review GREAT cheap saw
We are general contractors and we do a fair amount of tile work. We own several MK tile saws. We bought this saw 7 years ago as a joke. We could not believe that a tile saw for a hundred bucks could work. Diamond blades alone hover around that price. Since then, that saw has worked on EVERY tile job we have completed since! Every time I press the switch to start it now, I am in disbelief that it starts and We have done zero maintenance on it.

The saws advantages are that it cuts from the bottom so the back of the cut is longer, it has no costly pumps to replace (the blade dips into the water), it is very light weight easily carried w/one hand, it is completely selfcontained (just put water into it, plug it in and turn it on), no pumps to burn out and as tile saws go, it is a clean operating saw (very little mess, especially w/small tiles).

Its disadvantages are that it cuts large tiles very slowly (I would not recomend it for large tiles) and the fence is useless (we just clamp a piece of 1x to the saw).

By the way, I am not in the habbit of writing reviews.

Power Tool Accessories Review Tile cutter review
Have not used this tile cutter yet, this new one is to replace my old one that I've had for 6 yrs which has served me well and is still running. The old guide bar got broken. So thought it time to have another machine.

I have tiled many kitchens and bathrooms with this old one and will continue to use it as a backup. Tools are as good as you are, if you do not abuse them they will last you for a long time.

Power Tool Accessories Review I Think I Will Continue Using My Drill Press Mortiser
After reading your reviews on the Delta Mortising Tool I think I will continue Using my craftman drill press with mortising atachment. I thought this was hard enough to set up and keep adjusted sounds like I would just be spinning my wheels to buy a new DELTA MORTISER

Power Tool Accessories Review Delta 14-650X review
I had three problems with this unit. First, the poorly cast fence was not square to the table, allowing the work to rock during the mortising action, yielding mortises that were not square. Second, there is no clamp or foot to hold down the work making it very difficult to back out of harder woods. And third, the chuck and key were poor quality with poor fit and rough action.

Power Tool Accessories Review A good tool for the money
In this price range there are pretty much two choices. The Delta and the Jet. I decided to get the Delta. I had no other reason except for my "Delta bias" and hesitancy to get something that's not going to work for me.

I ordered the tool from Amazon. It came fast as stuff from Amazon usually does. The tool went together very easily. You have to install the handle, fence, and pneumatic lifter. It took about 30 minutes to wipe off the protective oil gunk and about 10 minutes to actually put the machine together.

The tool is heavy and it is tall. Since space in my shop is at a premium, I have to clamp the tool on my workbench and then put it away for each project. In addition, the handle in its default position makes the tool fairly tall. I made a large space in my cabinets just for this tool and it has a sliding shelf. This helps a lot when I go to put the mortiser away.

My first cuts were pine. I set up the machine with the premium 1/2" bit that came with the machine as a special promotion. I was building a headboard that required many mortises. They took me less than an hour to cut. I was impressed. You have to apply some pressure on the handle to cut into the wood but not a lot. The bottom of the mortise is not as clean as I like, so I clean it out with a chisel.

I've used the machine on hardwoods and I get similar results. I get acceptable mortises with little effort. The manual suggests positioning the opening of the chisel on either the right or left side. I kept getting packed wood shavings in my mortises. I had to use a screwdriver or chisel to dig them out. If you place the opening of the chisel in the front, facing you, the shavings get kicked out the front.

The one thing that I don't like too much about the tool is the fence and table assembly. It is difficult to adjust and the table is too small. Adjustments are easy to make but the result feels "loose".

If you need to make mortises in thick stock, you can turn the tool around on it's shaft and use your own table. This is not a simple task. You just about have to disassemble the machine. I haven't had to do this yet but when I do, I'll be building some jigs for the machine.

You'll also want to get a nice light to shine down on the area where you are working. The wood shavings get all over the place and it is hard to see where you are cutting.

The chisels that came with the mortiser are okay. The extra set of premium chisels that came as part of the promotion are significantly better, especially in the hardwoods.

I can imagine that both the Jet and the Delta are very similar in operation. They are certainly similar in price and I don't think that you will go wrong with either one.

About a week after I started using the mortiser, my pneumatic lifter failed. I called Delta and they had me a part shipped to me within just a few days. No questions asked. I was very impressed with the support I received from Delta. Since receiving the new part, I've used the tool a lot with no problems.

The mortiser does a good job... not a great job. But considering it is a machine that cuts square holes and it is a lot faster than cutting them by hand or by other means, I believe that it is a good value.

Power Tool Accessories Review RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!
WE BOUGHT THIS DEWALT BELT SANDER YESTERDAY TO STRIP OUR RED OAK FLOOR OF ITS STAIN, AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF USE IT STARTED SMOKING, WE LET IT COOL OFF, WENT BACK LATER AND USED IT ABOUT 45 MINS., WENT BACK AGAIN AND WHEN I PULLED THE TRIGGER IT STARTED THEN STOPPED, IT NEVER CAME BACK ON!!
RETURNED IT TO LOWES TODAY FOR A NEW ONE, GOT HOME STARTED USING IT AGAIN ON THE SAME PROJECT, 15 MINS. LATER IT STOPPED WORKING, NO SMOKE, NO NOISE, JUST STOPPED.IT'S BEEN TWO HOURS AND STILL NOTHING(I CHECKED MY BREAKERS JUST TO BE SURE- IT'S THE SANDER!) MY HUSBAND IS A CONTRACTOR AND WE HAVE MANY DEWALT TOOLS, ALL OF THEM FANTASTIC!! BUT IN THIS CASE I WOULD JUST MOVE ON TO ANOTHER BRAND, I WILL TOMORROW WHEN I RETURN THE SANDER FOR THE SECOND TIME. $200.00 DOLLARS!!!- WHAT A JOKE

Power Tool Accessories Review Should have read the reviews
Before buying this DeWalt sander, I failed to read the reviews. Now that it is on its return trip, I read them and concur with most. That I bought the DeWalt sander because I have other DeWalt tools that are great. Not my experience with this sander.
My problem was it plugging up with sanding dust and required the careful extraction of sand dust to get the collector to work. I didn't have a problem with over-heating, but felt the tracking device didn't function (however did not have a problem keeping the belt tracking from a visual check). When the air blower passages were clean, the sander functioned well. But after a few minutes of sanding, I'd have to take it apart enough to remove the blockage ahead of the blower fan (good to have a high powered vacuum). Not a good design, IMO. I was disappointed.

Power Tool Accessories Review Nice sander, needs some improvement
I used this sander on a deck and I ran it hard for about 45 min at a time and it never overheated. After about a week of heavy use and abuse it would not turn on. I got it repaired under warranty(the switch went bad) Overall I really like the tool, it works better than a Porter-cable I used. I wish it had a fan or something to clear the dust out better. It will get clogged if you close the dust ejection port.

Power Tool Accessories Review burned up twice
I bought the dewalt 871 14" chop saw because I was told it would cut metal. It cuts thin walled stock, but it doesn't cut a 3" mechanical tubing with 1/2" wall or 3" solid stock like promised. I could barely put pressure on the blade to keep it cutting. I don't feel like replacing the motor again.

Power Tool Accessories Review Worst power tool I have ever owned!
I bought this because I liked my brother's DW-874. Bad move. This thing is a piece of junk. The clamp is horrible, It comes loose, the screw striped out after 6 months. If you make 45 degree cuts the back of the clamp is so far back the blade can not cut all the way through the metal, to correct this you have to put an extra piece of material behind what you are cutting to space it out far enough to cut through. It vibrates no matter what you cut. I've used saws with less horse power ratings that have more power. It trips breakers all the time on circuits that don't trip when I use my 110v welder. If I had it to do over I would buy a hack saw!

Power Tool Accessories Review Not worth the high price
I've had this for ~ a couple of years now. It's ok, and has decent power. It trips the ciruit breaker constantly when I try to cut through 1/4" square though, which gets annoying. It'll cut angle or thin stuff pretty quickly though.

But worst of all, is that weak miter clamp. First, it's hard to set it at the angle you want b/c you're never sure if you're exactly hitting the angle you want.. But when you do finally set it, after you tighten the work down, the whole clamp will move, and now you're at a different angle. Cheap!

Power Tool Accessories Review Piece of junk
Worked twice, then just stopped working. Blew fuses on cigarette lighters in both our cars. Yes you get what you pay for. Think. You can pick up a blow dryer for your hair for about same price; and it will work for a few years, For this product to just stop working after a few uses indicates this manufacturer has no qualms about selling defective merchandise.
Amazon should dump this product.

Power Tool Accessories Review Good for Starting Fires
First time and only time I used it was to inflate a motorcycle
tire. The bike was idle for 2 years and had 10 pounds in the
tire. When I turned it on, it danced and bounced around
on the driveway because it is so light. Had to hold it against
the tire with my foot so it wouldn't flip over from jumping
around. It sounded like it was working hard when connected.

I connected it for about 30 seconds, then tested
pressure with a tire gauge. Only got a pound more.
Reconnected for 1 minute, got up to 12 pounds.
Hmmm...This is going to take a while....
I figured I let it run for a few minutes while squeezing and
watching the tire carefully. After about 3 minutes I look down
at my feet and see it belching smoke. I quickly unplugged it
before flames. This thing is way too cheaply made.

Power Tool Accessories Review Compressor broke first time I used it!
I used the compressor only once and it would not go over about 20 psi. Then it shorted out after running for about 5-10 minutes. I returned it for a refund.

Power Tool Accessories Review Do not buy this vacuum
This is my third Fantom vacuum. And it is by far the worse vacuum that I have ever purchased. It does not work well and it is very very heavy to push. It does not pick up well. This vacuum was not build by someone who knew how to build a vacuum or has ever used one. I will never buy another Fantom... Thank you

Power Tool Accessories Review The worst vacuum I've ever owned
And that includes my first bagless, a bissel that shot sparks from the power cord.

This cleaner is by far the worst. We purchased this cleaner in Feb 2004 after our old dirt devil finally went to vacuum heaven.

First the good:
This cleaner has a large cansiter and is easy to empty. It is lighter than some other vacs and has great suction. I once sucked up a toddlers t-shirt that ended right up in the canister without jamming the machine.

The bad:
within 24 hours of first plugging the machine in the light burned out. After a period of abotu 4 months it had significantly lost suction despite cleaning the filter multiple times. We had problems with the on/off button from the get-go, it was very hard to push and unpredictable.

6 months after purchase it died. Just turned off in the middle of cleaning never to restart again.

Euro pro customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Now I will be the first to admit, we are hard on vacuum cleaners. With 5 kids ranging in age from 2-10 we clean a lot off our floors. However I have never had a vacuum last less than 2 years besides this one

Don't spend your money on this thing.

Power Tool Accessories Review Wow!This is what comes out of a 5 by 7 carpet that .........
First off I would like to say that alot of people accuse people who write good reviews for this vacuum of working for Euro-Pro/Fantom. I am only 14 years old. I will update this review if the mechine breaks. I had a old Fantom Thunder with Dual Cyclonic Technoligy. It was still working. I bought the Twister.Ran over the 5 by 7 carpet with the Thunder then the Twister. Wow, did it pull out alot that was left behind. I love everything about this vacuum. The bottom empting canaster with the Twister nob you turn, the Hose handle, and its carpet to bare floors setting. Finally, I bought this vacuum new at K-mart
for $159.99 and it even came with the air driven turbo brudsh.Buy it.

Power Tool Accessories Review black decker 4-1 multi sander ms700
Sander okay for small sanding project. Dust collector fell off after first use. Once supplied sandpaper with kit is used, it is impossible to locate additional paper.

Power Tool Accessories Review Get what you pay for... maybe a little less
I bought this some time ago to use as a general sander. It is too light duty and too much "try to please everyone," though. The thing makes waay to much noise, I hope MY dust collector (not ONCE have I taken dust out if it since it has never collected any) fell off, it seems that some plastic piece rattles around in that area and is magnifying the noise the sander makes. As I said, although this sander does sand, I would not recommend it even for medium jobs, such as sanding a piece of wood with rough paper (grits 50, 80, 120) before you get to the finish (220+ grit) step. It just takes too long to sand with this sander.

Also,a *big* bother for me: The sandpaper you can get for this at a superstore comes with tear-away pieces for the other B&D sanders (mouse, detail, whatever). Well I hate it because the stupid sandpaper tears in the tear away perforations (since this is the biggest sander you don't have to tear anything away to make it fit) and I strongly believe this has made the sandpaper last WAAAY less than normal. This alone is reason enough for me to say "don't buy this thing." The "produce a single sheet of sandpaper for all our models" idea makes sense to some dumb marketer at B&D, but you're stuck with the self-destroying sandpaper.

Man do I hate changing the paper because it is torn away at the tear marks and not because I have used it up!

If I were a prospective buyer I would skip this sander and buy a better quality one from the "serious" toolmakers like Porter Cable, DeWalt, Bosch or Makita for about the same money for a base model sander.

Bottom line: I own this sander and I'm about to replace it with something different.

Power Tool Accessories Review A tip for the sandpaper
This sander seems to do a good job although I don't have much experience with other sanders. Like most who have written reviews I am not a big fan of the proprietary hook and loop sandpaper replacements that are sold. However, after quickly running through a batch of it and not having replacements on hand, I traced the outline of the sandpaper pad out on a sheet of regular sandpaper and cut it out. I then took some spray adhesive (I used 3M high strength 90 I had on hand)and coated the top (grit side) of the old used up pad and pressed on to this the back of the cutout sandpaper and held for about 10 seconds and proceeded to sand the walls in my bathroom for painting. Total time for this process the first time was a couple of minutes. Using this method I have been able to use whatever grit sandpaper I like at 1/4 of the cost of the B&D replacements. Even better I am able to use the resilient stuff that lasts longer so I have to change much less frequently.

Power Tool Accessories Review Hammer Drill?
I bought one, tried to drill a 5/16" hole (half the rated capacity) in concrete with a new masonry bit and smoked the bit. The drill is too fast, even on it's lowest speed to effectively drill holes in concrete, maybe concrete blocks, but not concrete. I took it back 20 minutes after trying to use it. I have other Hitachi products that I am happy with, but not this one. If you want a hammer drill, keep looking, this isn't one...

Power Tool Accessories Review Heavy duty hammer drill? I think not!
I bought this drill to replace a 3/8" Skil that was 20 years old. I used it for thinset and grout mix it smelled like it was burning but, worked fine no problems. I then used it to drill 1" holes in poured concrete. It lasted for only 8 holes the bits kept coming out of the drill no matter how hard I tightened the chuck. Then on the 8th hole it started smoking and died (brushes are shot). This is labeled a heavy duty hammer drill. I think not. I don't suggest this for anyone who uses a drill alot.

Power Tool Accessories Review Excellent for around the house
I've had this drill for two weeks and it does the job fine for me (around the house). It drills through wood and plastic with no problem what-so-ever (maybe the guy who had the drill die while drilling through a 2x4 had a defective product). It eats concrete block with no problem (A friend and I have drilled maybe 20 holes in block) and I even used it on poured concrete. It took maybe 10-15 seconds to drill an 1 1/2 inch deep hole, but I wasn't expecting anything better.

One of the best tips I've heard re: power tools is to let the tool work for you. I didn't "get into it" and apply all 210 lbs of me into the drill. ON the concrete, relax, put it on a low setting, and apply modest pressure. The tool, the bit and you will benefit.

Overall, for around the house and for the money, this drill is perfect.

Power Tool Accessories Review Delta Tool or Toy
Delta should be ashamed to put there name on that toy ah tool and to call it professional. I was so dissatisfied when I opened the box and looked at the condition of the saw and the play in the blade and the material of the saws general construction. I closed the box and sent it back for a refund. Save your money so you can spend a little more and get a real table saw.

Power Tool Accessories Review Nothing to write home about
Rip fence broke almost immediatly. Every part is made
down to price. Look at Sears - for the same price you'll
get much better quality.

Power Tool Accessories Review Great tool for the money
I own and operate a custom woodworking business and needed a table saw to take to job sites where I install my products. This saw fits the bill to a tea, it's light and small but with all the power you'll ever need. I own plenty of Delta equipment and have never had a problem with anything and they get many hours of use I would recomend this saw as a portable unit for cabinet installers but it's not the saw you would want to set up in your shop to build cabinets with.
