Looks pretty...but
Best Tile Saw around especially for the money

Definitely underpowered...The tables were difficult to get aligned. I need two people to get the tables aligned, since they are so heavy.
The biggest problem is that the 1 1/2 HP motor is underpowered for that big a jointer. When I face joint a 7 1/2 " wide piece of oak, I have to feed it very slowly in order to get it through without bogging down the machine. I intend to either put a 2 HP motor on this machine or replace it entirely with a 2 hp model.
I have been told that any Powermatic machine with an "A" at the end of the model number is made in Asia, Tiawan or China.
Powermatic Model 60A 8" jointerI purchased the custom mobile base manufactured specifically for this machine. The mobile base is 2 inches too wide and 3 inches too long for the base of the machine. Albeit this is a "custom fit" mobile base a universal base would have been a better fit for a lot less money.
The fence system is not as good as I expected it to be. The rack and pinion system that is supposed to keep the fence angle unchanged when raising or lowering the fence does not work. If the height of the fence is changed the control arm has to be re adjusted to make the fence square with the tables. If the fence is all the way down it drags on the table when moving it from side to side. I set it up about 1/16 inch so it would not drag on the table. Fortunately I seldom use a jointer in an application that requires the fence being set other than 90 degrees so once the fence is adjusted for height and squareness it can be moved from side to side without changing the height setting. The only other problem with the fence is it tracks greese across the table when moving it.
Once I completed all of the frustrations of making the machine operational it is a fantastic machine. The tables are easy to adjust and are very straight and true. I think a machine in this price range should be more complete and ready to use than this machine was when received. This is my first Powermatic machine. I have several top of the line Delta machines and have never had this kind of problems with initial set up. This is a quality machine but if I had the purchase to do over I would probably buy a Delta DJ-20 instead of the Powermatic 60A. My next purchase is going to be a top of the line shaper. I was planning to buy a Powermatic model 27 but after the problems I had with the jointer I probably will buy a Delta shaper. This is probably my first, last and only Powermatic machine I will ever own. It has been my goal for all of the principal machines in my shop to be American made. I have been phasing out all foreign made machines but I have never had the difficulty setting up a foreign machine that I had with this Powermatic jointer. In my opinion all of the difficulties I had making this jointer operational were due to the lack of good quality control on the part of Powermatic.
To summerize: After resolving all of the setup problems this is a very functional machine but for being the most expensive 8" jointer available it should have at least had all necessary parts to make it operational included in the shipment.

major disappointment
Awesome jointer!Only dislike; very minor, but there is a plastic piece that is mounted with two screws to the bottom face of the fence, this keeps the fence bottom from tearing up, (scratching) the out feed table while adjusting, (45 forward to 45 backward) you just need to make sure that it is not proud of the fence otherwise your pushing a piece through and it will catch. Easy fix, just be aware.
Go for it! I don't think you'll be disappointed. 83" table surface, niiiiice!

Good idea... but poor design1. This router extension slides into the portamax rails and is leveled to the portamax table surface using set screws. As soon as you apply a load to the router extension, the set screws dent the portamax rails. This makes levelling difficult and of course causes unsightly damage to the portamax.
2. The otherwise excellent portamax fence is useless as a router fence. The vibration and pulling motion created when routing with the extension table cause the fence to slide no matter how hard I was able to crank down the friction cam.
3. The thickness (or should I say thinness) of the particle board top and the choice of mounting points makes clamping an alternate fence impossible. Applying appropriate clamping force causes large bowing and flexing of the laminate top. The result is that once you discover that the portamax fence can't be used, you discover you can't clamp a straight board as a fence either.
4. The choice of the pop-out ring sizes in the plastic insert are such that the Dewalt DW-621 cannot be bolted to the insert and must be bolted to an intermediate plate which is then bolted to the insert. This is mainly Dewalt's fault since the DW-621 base is famously small and narrow.
The bottom line is that for $100 you do not get much. I only got the plastic insert which I built my own table around. Anyone looking to add this to their portamax should think twice. Save yourself the hassle and just buy the plastic insert.
he he,.. the answer is no. I do not work for Rousseau. This router table does that and has replaced other router tables because it is durable, accurate, more versatile and takes up a fraction of the space.
Like Rousseau's stable and accurate table saw mounting system, the extension table setup and adjustment, once done, rarely needs adjustment through repeated setups and breakdowns. You slide it into the table saw stand and you're ready to set up bits and/or fences.
While the router table is a great extension to the table saw stand, I use it just as often by itself by just spanning it across horses or a garbage pail(most sawdust goes straight to where it belongs. Though you could rig a shop-vac without too much thought if you need better dust removal).
While Rousseau's table saw fence can be used in this configuration for some applications and as a stable and accurate stage for jigs, their router table fence is another fine tool that deserves very serious consideration too.
Additional removable base plates are readily available(or can be easily made in the field). This allows you to mount a variety of tools to different base plates and swap them rapidly.
Several years ago, when I first bought the table saw stand, router/extension table and router fence system, I had doubts about its durability,.. and I'm beginning to wonder how many more times it will pay for itself and how many more years of abuse it will take for me to finally be able to claim I was right all along.

Great until the filter gets dirty, then forget it!The directions for cleaning the filter is to remove the filter and bang it against the ground or the side of the trash can. This leaves you bringing dust and grime back into your home. The filter is right in the middle of all of the dirt you just vacuumed up. Okay, so maybe, I thought, take the filter outside to clean. There better be NO WIND> I wound up one time covered in dust. I looked for the replacement filter and found it to be so expensive, I might as well dump this machine when the filter no longer works. There have GOT to be better models out there! I plan to find out!
Do Not Waste Your Money on this DOG!!!!
Not "for the dogs"Cons: well see below...
If you have animals, do NOT buy this vac. I have had it over a year now and although it has great suction it is so hard to empty the canister that I think it isn't worth having. Also the design is poor. The filter should not be in with all the dirt and hair! Trying to clean that is a nightmare and as another reiewer said you can not get the hair and dirt off.It ends up being a smelly mess and now if I vacuum with it my house smells !! You are not supposed to clean the filters and replacements are like 30.00 and take 2 weeks to arrive. It is very hard to push and the caster wheels are more of a pain than a help. However, I must admit even though I have now replaced this vacuum it does have the BEST suction of any vacuum I have ever owned including my new Bissell lift off bagless.

- Hose and crevice tool included; 20-foot cord
- Lightweight vacuum stores easily as a broom
- Bagless: dirt is captured in a chamber; has a permanent, washable filter
- Weighs 7 pounds, stands 47 inches high
- Brushless nozzle cleans carpet and bare floor
List price: $49.99 (that's NaN% off!)

Not for carpets with hairNot only that, the accessories do not serve the purpose as the hose is very short.
I don't recommend this product for anybody.
Not very good for anyone with pets
Two stars is generous for this vacuumAt first I thought this product was great and easy to use. But the more I used it the more frustrated I got. The hose attachment is so inconvenient to use. Plus it could be about 3 feet longer to reach anything important. I found myself having to hold the elec-broom up off the ground to reach some cobwebs in a corner. It is light but cumbersome to have to lift and vacuum with. It would be nice if the unit could stand on it's own. If you have to stop for a second to move something you basically have to lay the unit on the floor.
It also doesn't reach underneath any type of furniture. Plus the way the front release is positioned it is in the right spot to have the overhang on the bottom of my kitchen cabinets hit it and make the filter become unhooked.
I found it annoying to have to empty the filter so often and the vacuum got pretty dingy and dirty itself. The button that allows you to turn off the brush is located at foot level which makes you think you can use your foot to turn it on and off. It took a few months but the switch broke quickly (luckily my husband is handy and he was able to fix it). Now I have to be very careful when I use the switch.
At this time I find myself looking for a new unit. One that can do the job I need. If you have pets that shed a lot and want to use an electric broom daily, I wouldn't waist my time or money with this vacuum.
The saw itself though is great!
